I have 5 scale machine with TCP/IP connection and all if them have their IP address.
My questions: What is the script for detecting their IP and save IP to temporary then send a database to their IP ?
please help me.

It should be posible to do this by broadcasting a packet to the echo post and listen for the replys

Cannot Lock and Send data to an Essbase cube

Hi all,
One of our customer is executing a Macro script to lock and send data to the essbase cube from an excel sheet.
They reported that in several cases where users will submit their data, and later discover that their changes are not in Essbase.
The calls to EssVRetrieve (to lock the blocks) and EssVSendData are both returning successfully and there is no error message received while executing the above macros.
I reviewed the application log file and found the following message:
[Mon Nov 24 18:59:43 2008]Local/Applicn///Warning(1080014)
Transaction [ 0xd801e0( 0x492b4bb0.0x45560 ) ] aborted due to status [1014031].
I analysed the above message and found the user is trying to lock the database when already a lock has been applied to it and some operation is being performed on it. Because of that the transaction has been aborted. But customer says no concurrent operation is being performed at that time.
Can anyone help me in this regard.

The error message for error 1014031 is 'Essbase could not get a lock in the specified time.' The first thought I have is that perhaps some user/s have the 'Update Mode' option set in their Essbase Options and thus, when they are retrieving data, they are inadvertantly locking the data blocks. If that is the case, you will probably see this issue sporadically as the locks are automatically released when the user disconnects from Essbase.
To make it stop, you will have to go to every user's desktop and make sure they have that Essbase Option turned off. Further, you will have to look at any worksheets they may use that may have an Essbase Option name stored on it. The range name is stored as a string and includes a setting for update mode. Here is a sample that I created for this post where I first turned 'on' update mode and then turned 'off' update mode:

Note the 11th character in the first string is '1' which indicates that Update Mode is 'on'; in the second string, it is 'off'.
This behavior, particularly with update mode, is the only one of the behaviors that I disliked in Excel and pushed me to design our Dodeca product. In Dodeca, the administrator controls all Essbase options and can either set individual options to the value they want or they can allow the user to choose their own options. Most of our customers do not allow the user to set update mode.

Is it possible to create a virtual TCP port and send data to it?
My application is this: I am reading a constant stream of waveform data from a device via a LabVIEW VI set and I need to get that streaming data to a .NET application. I can poll a TCP port in .NET easily so is there a way I can create a virtual TCP port in LabVIEW and send the data there?

Have a look at the example called simple data server and simple data client and see what you can get from that. I'm not really familiar with TCP myself.

Connecting and sending data to web service

Hi,
I have to implement the functionality in PDF document to connect with the web service and send the form data in xml format on Click event of a button inside the form.
During the initial development and testing I have found that document can only connect with the Web Service from within LiveCycle Designer or Adobe Pro. It doesn't work with the Reader.
After surfing the internet I have come to know that Reader extensions are required along with Adobe Reader to communicate with the web services. Am I right?
Furthermore, what I have to do is to distribute the PDF form to a number of people who will fill the form and submit the form data by clicking the Submit button (which will internally communicate with the web service to send data) on the form. So if extensions are required to communicate with web services from Reader, then what I am assuming is that all those people must have extensions installed on their machines along with Reader.
On some forum I have also read that you only need to install the Extensions on the Designer machine and they are not compulsory to be on every client machine. i.e. Exntesions enable the web services communication features in the PDF form during design time. Is it true?

Be careful, your question should be posted in "LiveCycle Reader Extensions" forum. LiveCycle Data Services doesn't deal with these features.
Nevertheless, to use webService calls from a PDF opened in the free Adobe Reader, you need to Reader extend your form.
You can use Acrobat Pro to extend it if the PDF will not be used by more than 500 people.
If you plan to reach more than 500 people, then you must consider LiveCycle Reader Extensions. This limitation is explained in the Acrobat EULA.
The final users only need the Adobe Reader, they won't have to install any extension or plug-in.

Restrict lock and send data in Hyperion Planning

Hi All,
I am working on a planning application version 11.1.2.1.I have users who use excel add in to submit data.The issue is when they submit forecast it messes up the data for the previous periods actual.For ex if they have to submit forecast for Aug onward , but their spreadsheet has data from jan to dec then my jan to july data gets messed up because of the upload.In essbase application,we can restrict them by creating UDA's and filters.
I need some suggestions for the planning application.I can modify the planning filters in essbase but again it would be very tedious job to go into each filters and modify and the worst part would be if we do refresh security next time,it will overwrite the filters.
Please guide me through this.

Thanks for the reply. The problem is different business units have different excel models with many tabs and those tabs are linked to each other .They have a tab for essbase upload which gets generated by the other tabs.They are using macros which selects the range and do lock and send. I cannot take away their essbase write access because they are very comfortable using excel add-in and they are not ready to change the process as well for atleast now.
How can i restrict in smartview?
Please let me know what is the standard process across the hyperion world for this scenario.

we usually should use a blank-line-check as an exit condition.Certainy not 'usually'. See below.

Simple null check on readLine while loop often causes
confusion among Java newbies becuase they can't exit
the program.
If and only if you define your operating instructions so that pressing ENTER is the way to exit the program, you would include the blank line check. Not otherwise, and certainly not 'usually'.
Otherwise they can always type Ctrl/Z or Ctrl/D to exit the program. And that's the correct way to clear up the confusion. Terminating the loop on a blank line just adds to the confusion

9914 and sending data back across the bus.

We are programming a device with the 9914 chip, and we can write commands to the device, but are having trouble getting the device to write data back. When using the interactive tool, by executing "ibrd 100" is the device addressed as the talker? What is a fairly straight forward method for passing 1 byte of data from the device to the controller? We have a routine that waits till the TA bit in ISR1 sets, before it placed the byte in the CDOR. But the TA bit never sets, even after we execute ibrd 100 with the interactive tool. Is there something else we need to do? Any help would be appreciated.

Enabling interrupts should not have an affect. Can you give me a summary of how you are setting up the chip? For example, what are you setting in the ADR register? This register sets the addressing mode of the chip. If you are not setting it up correctly at address 3, you would, of course, not get an interrupt.
So, lets assume you are setup correctly. There are a couple of different things to try.
1) You can look at the MAC bit in ISR0. This is the My Address Changed bit, which should set everytime your addressing mode changes.
2) Note that the NAT9914 does not have static bits in the ISR registers. If you read a register, the bit will clear automatically. Just in case something else asserted along with MA and you hand
led it but forgot to check MA, you will lose it.
3) You can try setting MA IE. This will not generate an interrupt if you have interrupts disabled, but it will cause an NDAC holdoff. In this case, the ibrd 100 should timeout on the host side if the device is actually doing the holdoff.

Retrieving and Sending data from external programs

I am currently looking at a project but do not know how to start tackling the problem.
I have a couple of similar programs written in different languages (not JAVA) that I do not have access to the source code.
I need to enter data into fields in a new JSP page and paste the same data into their corresponding fields in the programs that I do not have access to their source codes.
I considered using coordinates but it may have major maintainence problems in the future.
Any help will be much appreciated.
