Finding a text in All vi in memory - nightmare

Hello All
Quite often it happens that I need to search through all vi in memory to find some text. Some of vis in memory are password protected, and I do not want to search them. But LV keeps asking for a password to those vi and it takes ages to search through those vi.
Is there a way to tell LV not to search in vi, which are pasword protected?
I could not find any option in LV configuration.

Hi,
If you have the passwords, you can put them in the password cache (by using
them once). Guess you would have done that if you had the passwords.
If all passwords are different, you can make a vi to open them dynamically,
each with it's own password. Still, you need the passwords...

Step 1
Quit Calendar. Triple-click the line below to select it:
~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu. A Finder window should open with a file named "Calendar Cache" selected.
Move the selected file to the Trash. There may be one or two other files in the same folder with names that begin in "Calendar Cache". If so, delete those files too.
Step 2
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash as well:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
To locate large files, you can use Spotlight. That method may not find large folders that contain a lot of small files.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders. It may take some minutes for ODS to list all the files.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

During Parking of the FI document through Tcode FV50 i m giving the some text in the long text not in the text field.
I would like to validate the Long Text Before Saving in user exit "U300" under the "Sunstitution" .
Please anybody can be help me out where exactly this long text is going to be stored or in which internal table or memory id.
Please give me the answer as soon as possible .
Note:- Read_Text function module is not useful. Because Read_text useful after saving document.

In application area FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING , go for node LINE ITEM. Here create a step & maintain the prerequisite as per your requirement & in the check you can mention the code or you can direct it to a custom program like ZFI_RGGBR000.
Here while maintaining the check you will get structures BKPF & BSEG in which you will get the desired field you are looking for.
Just try to explore in your system how the other validations are maintained.
After you are done with all your code, you have to run the regeneration program RGUGBR00.
Here utmost care should be taken while running regeneration program, you should select all the checkboxes in the selection screen except GENERATE SETS, GEN SUBSTN ROUTNS IN ALL CLNTS & TRACE PROG. GENERATE CALLS .

Where can I find a guide to all the options and settings available via the "about:" pseudo-URL? (Using FF 3.6.8)

When I last used Firefox support, several years ago, I saw mention of a long list of options and settings available, using a kind of local URL, beginning with "about:". I can't find it now. The text "forums" that I saw then seem to have disappeared and been replaced by support for dummies who might be frightened if they saw a page containing more than just a tiny amount of information.
The question is: where can I find this guide, listing all the available options and settings so that I can make my own decisions?

I must have forgotten; it wasn't exactly FF support, but Mozillazine. '''Thank you for the pointer'''. The "long list" I was thinking of was in fact about:config, which is pointed to by that page.
Given all that, I think it should be easier to find Mozillazine from the FireFox support pages.

Wrap text for all-day events

I've seen this question floating around, unanswered, since 2005...
How can I get iCal to show the full text of an all-day event in Month View? There's lots of blank white space, but it seems that iCal never wraps the text of all-day events, and just cuts off the text that doesn't fit on one line.
Am I missing something? Is there any way to get Apple to implement something so basic?

I have the same question, but need to add one odd observation about my own experience...
When I enter new events, sometimes the text wraps to two lines and sometimes the text is cut off after one line. It appears to be about 50-50. I can find no explanation for this behavior anywhere nor any way to control it. Very strange.

There are different Text available in the sales order under item like Warehouse instruction, CSR instruction...
I want to know the corresponding Text id for the text ELECTRONIC ORDER COMMENT.
Table TTXID contains the validation of the Text id.

U can fetch the texts for the items using
Read_text.
Example:

I am trying to use REGEXP_INSTR to find a text string with space(s) in it.
(This is in a Function.)
Let's say ParmIn_Look_For has a value of 'black dog'. I want to see if
ParmIn_Search_This_String has 'black dog' anywhere in it. But it gives an error
Syntax error on command line.
If ParmIn_Look_For is just 'black' or 'dog' it works fine.
Is there some way to put single quotes/double quotes around ParmIn_Look_For so this will
look for 'black dog' ??
Also: If I want to use the option of ignoring white space, is the last parm
'ix' 'i,x' or what ?

During import Aperature wont show all photos on memory card. Typically loads the previews of the first 15 photos only showing "loading assets" and spinning wheel. Running Aperature 3.2.3 on MBP 2.16 core duo 2gb ram importing from a SD card reader contining approx 300 nikon d3100 NEF files. Created a new user account and new library with same results.

Could be the card. Transfer the files to your HD using Finder, and then import into Aperture. All OK?
Then reformat your card in your camera, and see if the problem recurs. Also: does it happen with other cards? Does it happen with the card in the camera (instead of in your card reader)?

The ever best solution is to find out yourself,
Here is the way i Approach to find out Read_text passing parameters.
Open you TCODE & Before Going to your text data, Open ST05 and activate trace,
now just see you text in the TCODE & Goto-ST05 and deactivate trace.
Now Display Trace...!
Here you see a lot of tables and its SQL Retrieves,
Look for table STXH & STXL...(It contains the Read_text passing parameters).
Now pass as you require.

How can I find a text box with a specific word in it ?

Hi,
I have hundreds of settlement names on a map created with the text tool. How can I search on the name of one of them and find it on my map ?
I am with FH9 but the method would no doubt be backwards compatible from MX. If it isnt I would launch MX just for this exercise.
Would this also work if the word was part of a text box text ?
I have the luxury of it being the entire text box !

If you have one large text box to search for the word, select it, then go to EDIT>FIND & REPLACE>TEXT...
Type in your word and click FIND NEXT button. If you have multiple occurances of the name, keep clicking the FIND NEXT button until the word hilites.
If you have scattered text boxes on your map, don't select any of them but still go through the EDIT>FIND & REPLACE>TEXT... routine I mentioned. FreeHand will look through all text boxes to find your word.
Oh yeah, this works the same in FreeHand 8 thru FHMX.

since 3 days i have unsharp icons and text in all programs, but not in web or finder. programs like photoshop, after effects, open office etc. how can i fix that? tinkertool, and standard systemoptions didn´t help.
it is very weared to me. the macbook pro retina is just 2 month old. it looks like a software bug?...

Find dropped text?

I produce a 2-page newsletter for my college using InDesign CS2 4.0.5; each monthly edition has 10-15 short articles submitted by faculty. My job, as editor, is simply to arrange and size/format the texts. Always there are last minute edits from the review board, which can shorten or lengthen an article, so to meet our print deadline, I have to scramble to re-size textboxes or whatever needs to be done to make everything fit. Twice now, I failed to note that a sentence or short paragraph has dropped out of a textbox. I know about the small symbol at the lower right corner but in all the haste I don't always see it.
QUESTION: other than checking each textbox individually, is there a way to catch this mistake? is there an InDesign command to run on a "finished" file that would find dropped text and alert me with an error message/warning?

Another way I've seen recommended -- though it DOES require action on your part to actually check -- is to zoom way, way out so you see all of the pages at a tiny size. The "overset text warning" boxes do not shrink, and are much easier to catch.
