Fire is loaded, it opens but it will not max. Can not access.

I've spent my day trying to get Fire Fox to start working again. I've deleted and reinstalled several times and have tried to work through web answers.
At this point, the computer window7 Task Manager indicates that Firefox is open. The icon on the task bar shows it to be open but when the icon is clicked it does not maximize it appears to jumps off the screen.
Is my answer to this problem is to use another browser? I'd support Fire fox but it has to work and be easy.
Hopefully you have an easy fix for a fire fox user.

If you right click on your task bar, you can select "Show Windows Stacked" or "Show Windows Side by Side" if for some reason windows are appearing off of your screen. Alternatively, if this occurred after installing an extension, '''try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. We can join the network, but can not access the Internet. The password is correct. We have tried network assistant and diagnostics, restarting the laptops, re-joining the network. Our iPhone 4s also works all the time.
Same location. Signal strength is good.

Since I couldn't figure out a way to edit our original post, here's another potential clue.
Our laptops, when in System Preferences>Network, say "WiFi has the self-assigned IP address of XXXXXXXXX and will not be able to connect to the Internet".
Strangely, my six year old MBP running OS 10.6.8 accessed the Internet straight away, just by opening Safari to my home page. My wife's six month old MBP running OS 10.7.2 could not.

Office 365 Outlook is now frozen. I cannot open outlook folders or mail. Can't access Options either. Works fine in IE.

Okay. You are not entering the correct passcode. If you forgot or it is not taking your passcode then you will have to restore.

It does sound like the logic board. It's not uncommon for an iBook with a faulty logic board to work intermittently. You can't count on it, though. It could fail completely at any time.
DT&T Computer Services in Fremont, California has the best deal I've found on logic board replacements. They do free diagnostics, so they would make sure that's what you need, and there is a six-month warranty on the repair.

I'm always a little sad that people are basing their opinions of Macs on these older iBooks. Yours is the newest iBook in existence, but it's still over five years old — ancient in computer terms.
