Firefox 4 deleted the feature to the right of the "go forward one page" button" that showed all the websites I'd visited in the chain from Home to the present one.

There was a little arrow in Firefox 3 to the right of the "go forward one page" arrow that I could click and it would display a list of the websites I'd viewed since I left "home". That is missing in Firefox 4. It is very tedious to have to "go back one page" over and over until I finally get to Home [or another earlier website]. Some websites won't even let me "go back" beyond their own websites, so I have to close Firefox altogether and start over, to get to a previous website. I really miss that little arrow!!

Click-hold the unified Back / Forward button, or right-click it to get the Back / Forward history for that tab.
Or install this extension to get the old "drop-marker" button restored. <br />

  • When I downloaded new version of firefox, the feature where when I open a new tab a page loads that contains mini-windows containing my most visited sites. where is this feature now!?

So with the new version of firefox I lost the feature where, whenever I opened a new tab, instead of a blank tab page, a page would appear that contained mini-windows containing pics of all my most often used websites. I could then simply click on one of maybe six windows to go directly to my most used sites. What happened to this? I really, really, really miss this feature. How can I get it back?

The Google Toolbar and other extensions for Firefox include a list of compatible Firefox versions. Currently, the Google Toolbar only goes up to Firefox 4. However, people have tested and it actually works on Firefox 5, so there are two workarounds:
    (1) Edit a file to revise the range of compatible versions
    (2) Install an add-on that lets you ignore the range of compatible versions
This thread has info on both approaches: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/837142 google toolbar does not work with firefox 5.0. why not! | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help].

  • The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

I just had to do an automatic upgrade of quicktime and now Itunes won't start at all. I tried to uninstall Itunes and it asked if I wanted to repair, so I said yes, then started to get the dreaded, "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable."...so I searched on here and went to the ad/delete prog folder and deleted Itunes and quicktime.  Then tried to download and reinstall Itunes.  Got a prompt that it needed Itunes.msi.  I found that file, but it didn't open and didn't resolve the issue.  So now I can't install quicktime, can't install Itunes.  I've got the the drive where the both were installed deleted any files I could find in the c: program files relating to quicktime and Itunes.  Downloaded the Itunes.exe file to a thumbdrive and started it from the thumbdrive thinking that it would have all the files it needed to do the install there, but still got the same message.  HELP!
    What else can I do?

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on 25 June 2010. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Where has the drop down button for page history gone from next to the Forward/Back page buttons?

in previous versions of Firefox(and most other Browsers) there is a drop down next to the back/forward page buttons, that shows the last 10 of so pages browsed in the current tab......
has this feature been removed from Firefox 4 and why, or is there a way to enable it?
Currently using Firefox 4 on a Macbook running OSX 10.5.8

You can get the drop down list by either control-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.
If you want the drop-down arrow you can add it with the Back/forward dropmarker add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker

  • Why does my laptop say "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable?"

Ive been trying to download the latest version of itunes onto my laptop but when i try to install it, it tells me that the feature i am trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. I tried updating my windows, i cleared all itunes setups, my history, files, and refreshed my windows. It still wont let me download it. i am using mozilla firefox, if that makes any difference. My laptop has deleted or removed the previous version of itunes. I looked this up and every link that was  posted said "We're Sorry". The page was not found. Im stuck. PLEASE HELP.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavaibl

When ever i try to upgrade to the itunes my comp starts the download but then a window pops up that says, "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavaible." Under that is says use source and i can click on browse to look through all my folders but i have tryed clicking around on random ones and none work. What do i do???

good oh. If it's happening during the iTunes part of the install, let's go for the following procedure.
First, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. If it goes, good. If it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to iTunes.
Next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Now launch Windows Installer CleanUp ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), find any iTunes and/or QuickTime entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those entries, and click “remove”.
Next, we'll manually remove any leftover iTunes or QuickTime program files:
    (1) Open Local Disk (C:) in Computer or whichever disk programs are installed on.
    (2) Open the Program Files folder.
    (3) Right-click the iTunes folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    (4) Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. (Note: This folder may have already been deleted if QuickTime was successfully removed using Add/Remove Programs earlier.)
    (5) Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\Windows\system32\ folder. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue. (Note: These files may have already been deleted if QuickTime was successfully removed using Add/Remove Programs earlier.)
    (6) Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
    (7) Restart your computer.
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly now?

  • HT1925 I get a message saying The feature I am trying to use is on a network resource that is unavalable when I try to open iTunes.

When I try to open iTunes a widow appears called Windows Installer.  It tells me that the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavalable.  It tell me to Click OK or try again or enter an alternative path to a folder containing the intallation package iTunes.msi.  I suggests I should find this in a drop down box in the window.  There is a box but no folder iTunes.msi.  If I click the cancel button iTunes will open and work. I wish to uninstall iTunes and then reinstall it.  I am finding that I can play music on iTunes OK through my sound card but if I try to play streamed music from the web in YouTube and fom My Space the music is a poor quality with crackles and distortion. Other forums suggest uninstalling iTunes and then re-installing it.  I ahve tried to uninstall iTunes but it comes up with the Window noted above and then stops.  I need to stop the crackle when streaming music.
