  • Keep being asked to install Java Runtime V6

I keep being asked to install Java Runtime V6 in order to run CS5Service Manager. I moved on from CS5 a long time ago via CS6 to CC. I have only been receiving this message since upgrading to OSX Mavericks. I thought I had deleted everthing to do with CS5 ages ago and neither Spotlight nor Clean My Mac can find anything else to remove.
    Any suggestions folks?

If you deleted CS5 you probably left pieces in various places.  Always uninstall rather than delete software.

  • When is the non compatibility problem with Google toolbar going to be fixed with Firefox 5 as I am fed up keep being asked to install Firefox 5 when I know that the Google toolbar will not work.

Firefox are already aware that Firefox 5 and Google toolbar won't work together yet I am continually being asked to install Firefox 5, each time I take the 'ask me later' option only to be asked again.
So when is the problem going to be fixed?

Google needs to update the Google Toolbar program for Firefox 5.0.
The Google Toolbar '''7.1.20110512W''' version does work pretty good in Firefox 5.0 by using the Compatibility Reporter extension. But not every feature works 100%.<br />

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash:
*an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only
*a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox
*On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
'''''You do not appear to have the Plugin version for Firefox installed. ''''' If you did, in Add-ons > Plugins you would see "Shockwave Flash ''(version)''". If "Shockwave Flash" is there and is disabled, click the "Enable" button.
Check your Plugins often --> http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
*only the most popular/used Plugins are known by this page
*page will detect only installed, '''''enabled''''' Plugins
    '''<u>Install or update Adobe Flash</u>'''<br />
#'''<u>Using Firefox</u>''', go to the following link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later. Un-check any items on that page that you do not want to download (i.e., "McAfee Security Scan Plus":
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.
#Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
#To update/install the ActiveX version for IE '''''only''''', repeat the process, '''<u>but use IE to go to the above website</u>'''.

  • Keep being asked to install this update: 3.6.17 but have tried and it won't install. Is this a legit update?

For the past month I keep getting a pop-up (up to three times a day) asking me to install update 3.6.17. When it first happened I did try to install it but it would not install. Since then I have not attempted to install the update and yet can't figure out a way to keep this annoying pop-up from appearing.

You should just be able to restart if it did not install.

    My Firefox is version 3.6.9.

That is not a Firefox addon, it is an installer package that can install anything it wants on your PC. As far as why it installed on IE and not Firefox, that would be a question for technical support for that product.

  • I cannot seem to update firefox. I keep getting asked to make sure I have the latest version.

I get a screen that comes up that says Firefox cannot be updated securely and it urges me to make sure I have the latest version of it. I have downloaded it three times and still get the message.

Most probably you also need to download Apple Java for OS X 2014-001

  • Keep getting asked to install flash player

    Hi,
Video is shown fine on localhost test site , but when I upload the video to the production site the video does not play and
promt to install latest version of the player
I have created a page for another site with the same video and no problems.
Any video can not be shown on this site.
It must be something to do with the server.
Here is the web page that I am having the problem with:
    http://www.fablevision.org/annual-reports/2009/BBC-Scotland-Newsnight-Scotland.html
Same video, on another site and hosted by a different company:
    http://www.transform-tv.com/programs/newsnight.html
    Can someone please help me?
    Regards,
    Simon

Hi Simon, I went to both of the links and just like you no problem with the one listed second. The fablevision link came up with a white blank screen.
Now I went to http://www.fablevision.org and clicked on the 2008 Annual Report and had no problem whatsoever, page after page came up. I thought that was interesting. Nothing to due with your issue, but no problem with the site.
Whether the Fablevision Player has a problem, I don't know. Perhaps you could check another video that uses that Player and see if it is working properly.
I'm sure you have the site info, but to email them it is: [email protected]
Hopefully, the website can solve the issue for you.
You might check some other Adobe forums; I'm sort of limited to Flash Player info.
    Thank you.

  • Everytime I restart my PC, all extensions are disabled and firefox is asking to install eachtime

Every-time I restart my PC, all the extensions / add-ons are disabled. And Firefox is opening all the extensions (each in a tab) and is asking to install each-time.

Mozilla has been in contact with those other companies for over a month now about Firefox 5 being released today. <br />
Try running the Live Update for McAfee. <br />IDM said they should have an update ready in a few days.
The thing I am curious about is that if you are aware that your other software is slow at keeping up with Firefox releases, why you allow Firefox to update on the first day of the new release. IMO, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

  • Google talk video plugin does not work any more with Firefox 4. When clicking on the video chat icon, I am repeatedly asked to install the plugin, and it never works.

Google talk audio/video plugin used to work fine on Firefox 3, but does not work anymore on Firefox 4. Every time I click on the video chat icon on google talk, I am asked to install the plugin, even if I have already installed it before. The plugin works properly on the latest version of IE on the same PC.
Thanks for your help. I do not want to switch to Chrome or Opera, but if this bug is not fixed, I will have to.

Not sure if installing IE 9 did it or not but I now see the camera in IE, FF and Chrome. Could be Facebook fixed the problem also.
    Thanks for the reply.

  • Setup problem, windows xp, firefox upgrade to 4 and asked to reboot but did not progress. keeps asking to restart even if I try to remove

setup problem, windows xp, firefox upgrade to 4 and asked to reboot but did not progress. keeps asking to restart even if I try to remove

    Hi marsano,
Usually the only reason it will ask you to reboot is if there is a file that must be modified that the updater doesn't currently have access to. You should try running the Firefox program once as Administrator:
    * Right-click the icon and choose ''Run as Administrator''
If that doesn't help then do a clean reinstall.
    # Download a fresh copy of Firefox from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/fx/ Mozilla download page] and save the file to the desktop.
    # [[Uninstalling Firefox|Uninstall]] your current version of Firefox and remove the Firefox program folder before running the new installer.
    # Run installer
Remember that you don't want to remove personal data when uninstalling. That way you'll still have your personal information.
    Hopefully this helps!
