  • FireFox crashes when printing bigger pdf files

We are using the setting "Preview in FireFox" for pdfs and when we try to print a larger file (over 60 pages or so), the print progress bar makes it to about 90% and then FireFox crashes. We have the latest version, 27.0.1, and I've tried reseting Firefox under Help>Troubleshooting Info and also uninstalled and reinstalled the program but still having the same issue. I'm able to print the file just fine in other browsers (or at least in Chrome). Can someone please help?

My best guess would be to troubleshoot the printer settings in Firefox and then talk to the Printer Support. [[Fix printing problems in Firefox]] . If it continues to crash please submit a crash report and post it to a new question with the "bp-"
We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
#Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Why does Firefox crash when I try to view my Twitter page?

For the past week, almost every time I try to open a new tab to go to Twitter.com (or right-click on a link in a tweet), Firefox crashes on me. Today when I tried to go to Twitter, Firefox will only load the Twitter navigation bar and not the rest of the page. I have attempted to view my Twitter page multiple times.
I can view my Twitter page in IE, Google Chrome and Opera, but not Firefox, which is my preferred browser. Have there been any changes to Firefox in the last week that could have caused this?

You already posted some of the crash report links in another thread that you had created, so I'm going to lock this thread.

  • Firefox crashes when printing a Gmail message or attachment

    ID: 911954ff-c73d-41fe-bbdb-727902140624
Firefox crashes whenever I try to print a Gmail message or attachment. Within a message, I click the down arrow and select "Print." The usual print dialog box opens, but when I click "Print" here, Firefox crashes completely.
Same thing happens if I click on an attachment and click the "print" icon...or open the attachment in Preview and try to print it.
    I'm running up-to-date Firefox 30.0 on Mac OS 10.6.8.

Hmm, it started happening again, and this time the suggestions above did not fix the problem. Last time, setting another printer as the default worked.
This time, changing the default printer didn't help. Neither did clicking the "reset Firefox" button.
I also tried shutting down and restarting the Minolta BizHub that I am trying to print to.
I can print fine to another printer.
It worked fine since June 24, my last post.

  • Firefox crashes when printing from the web.

Mac user with OS 10.4.11 (Tiger). Have had repeated problems with Firefox in all versions crashing when trying to print from the web or using print preview before printing. Currently have Frefox v3.6.16 for MAC. Am printing to an HP 1315 AIO and HP 1210 AIO printers. Very irritating! Can copy paste web stuff to Word and print OK. Problem went away with OS 10.6 and Firefox 4 on my new MAC.

Inconclusive Evidence, I have tried all of your recommendations with no success. I can print with any other applications, just not Firefox, so I know it is not a problem with my driver. I'm stuck as to what to do at this point. Any other tips? Thanks for your help!

  • Firefox crashes when printing. Tried resetting FF Printer Settings, No "print_printer" file.

Also tried "Reset all FF printer settings", no "print_" files.

'''print_printer''' isn't a '''''file''''' it is a '''preference''' that appears in the '''''prefs.js''''' file once a pref is "userset". Plus, those type of prefs appear in the advanced prefs window - about:config - whether they're "userset" or "default" value prefs.
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-printing-problems-firefox#w_reset-firefox-printer-setting
Quite honestly though, "we" might be better off trying to troubleshoot your crashes from the Crash Report ID#'s rather than resetting preferences.

  • Firefox crashing when printing large webpage Windows 7

I have a fairly complex HTML document that is generated from a 3rd party application. It is approximately 100 pages of A4 at least.
When generated on a Windows 7 machine, the HTML is generated fine and opens in Firefox 16.0.2 as expected. However, when the user goes to print to a network printer, the status bar hangs at around 10% and Firefox stops responding. Eventually, after around 7 minutes, the crash dialogue box appears.
There is no appreciable spike in memory usage whilst this is going on. The document generates and prints fine on Windows XP machines.

Does Firefox still crash in a new profile?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • Firefox crashes when printing (save as .pdf) certain web pages

Sometimes, the problem can be overcome by selecting "Preview" from the print dialog box, which composes the page in Preview, from which the file can be saved as .pdf. My solution to this problem is to quit using Firefox and go back to Safari.

Go to the address '''about:crashes''' and tell us your latest crash IDs. We can then look at the data specific to your crash and have a better idea of what is causing the problem.

  • Firefox crashes when trying to print a certain page

I process orders placed on our web site. As soon as I updated to v6.0 and then V6.0.1 at a particular page when I need to print out invoices (and only on this page - I print two other pages as well during the processing) firefox crashes when trying to print all, print one page or print preview. It is not every single time but most times. I never had this problem in any earlier version.
It happened in safe mode as well.
If it wasn't for the group tabs which I love in v6 I would go back to v5.0 as it is quite inconvenient and costs me extra time to have this happen. I have to display each of the invoices individiually and print them which never causes a crash.
    I have submitted fourteen reports:

I am using Mozilla Beta 4. I volunteered to try it out. It's lightning fast. I really love using it. I see there is a new version of Firefox should I download it??

I HAVE NOW SOLVED THE PROBLEM BY RUNNING WINDOWS REGISTRY REPAIR TOOL WHICH HAS OBVIOUSLY REPAIRED CORRUPT REGISTRY FILES.

  • Why does Firefox crashes when viewing Google Images?

I was having six tabs open, one is an online pdf and two are from Google Images while the rest are forum tabs. The Firefox (ver 19 which I'm using currently) lags whenever I search for images using Google and in seemingly random occurrence, it will cause the Firefox to immediately crash with no warning. I had lost a significant portion of my time in composing emails and searching for information due to this unexpected error and it had occurred for past three versions of Firefox for me, pointing at the same initial triggers, having Google Images tab open. Checking the crash reporter reveals nothing as it stated "EMPTY: no crashing thread identified; corrupt dump." I hope the Mozilla team would immediately rectify this problem as it's quite annoying--and time wasting.
