Firefox doesn't display text properly on pages created with email marketing tool (Constant Contact).

Pages that are built with Constant Contact email marketing application don't display correctly. Different sections of text, usually a paragraph or list group, are readable but "shaded out." This is happening on Mac and Windows platforms.
The pages are built using standard HTML tags and the problem doesn't appear with other browsers.

Can you post a link to one or more of such pages?

  • Firefox doesn't display text boxes or windows propertly

Hello, most of the time on many websites only a portion of the textbox bounadry lines show or none at all.
This can be difficult when it doesn't show at all when I need to move my cursor to starting inputting text, aside from it looking unsightly.
Also somtimes windows that were intended to have a lined border don't show or only so partly, I know this because I have another computer running same version of firefox with windows xp beside the computer I am having trouble with to compare.
The computer os I am using that I am having problems with firefox is windows 8.1.
All my windows and video drivers are up to date. I've tried disabling firefox hardware acceleration to no effect.
    Thanks for any help.

Thanks Guys for all your attempts to help...none worked.
In the process of trying different things my "My PC" icon disappeared because I was trying to change my account settings to Administrative privileges because I was trying to access the firefox file folder that had profiles so I could delete them. Apparently they were hidden in user folder, but that user folder was hidden and in the attempt to make it visible it denied me access because I didn't have admin rights....
...so in the end I just re-installed win 8.1 and now all the web pages display properly...don't know why..but at least it displays better now.

  • Firefox doesn't display text of certain gmail messages seen correctly by IE

One email correspondent sends me messages which only occasionally fail to display on my gmail account browsed using current Firefox version. Same messages display fine in IE (how humiliating!). He has no idea what he's doing differently from one message to the next. I suspect it might be something about "pasted" in content. The header looks fine - just the body comes up blank. Forwarding to myself doesn't help. I've seen this about 6 times in 6 months - all from same sender - most of whose email comes thru fine. I'd suspect something else except for disturbing fact that IE reads these messages without any problem.

How safe is it to delete Lucida Grande from my Windows Fonts folder?
    </blockquote>
I think it depends on how it got there. If it was dropped by Safari for Windows, which is no longer a product that Apple supports, I think it's safe to remove. If it belongs to some other software, then that software might object to losing the font. I'm not sure of the best way to determine that. I suppose you could hedge your bets by dragging it into a different folder so Windows just doesn't see it.

  • Firefox doesn't display some text on certain pages.

I've noticed that on some pages, Firefox doesn't display certain text. I have the newest version of Firefox installed and my flash and java are updated. The text displays fine on Chrome and IE. Please see my example in the screenshots of the stevenson.edu webpage. Does anybody know what I can do to fix this problem or if there is some sort of plugin I am missing to display certain content? Thanks.

  • Firefox 3.6.6 doesn't display text correctly (looks like draft mode) in web pages (I have compared it sidse by side with IE8)

Using Firefox 3.6.6 text displays on the screen looking like a draft mode print, or like it was printed with a dot matrix printer. I have compared it to IE8, which displays much better. I was thinking it was a display setting until I compared it to IE8. I have looked thru all the settings in Firefox I can find, but no improvement. Also thought it might be my new (second hand) monitor until I did the side by side comparison with IE8.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== Got new computer and updated to Firefox 3.6.6

I also have this problem and it just started in the last week or so. It seems to be dependent on my home network and the problem only exists with firefox. I have used chrome and IE8 with no issues. I can verify tomorrow that it only exists in my network but one thing I was able to test is that the problem exists even on my linux boot. I am totally dumbfounded with this problem and I can't find anything that will allow the gmail page to load. All other pages I have tried load fine, all be it a little slower than normal but they load. If anyone knows of a difference between firefox and all other browsers on how it goes through the router I would appreciate the info cause I don't know of any differences.

  • Since Firefox v34, after zooming text on a page Google Search took me to, the Google search page is blank after clicking 'Back' to it. Is this a v34 glitch?

Since Firefox v34, the Google Search results page is blank after, 1) Clicking on a link in a Google Search results page and loading the linked page, 2) Zooming in on the text on the page Google took me to, and then without resetting text zoom, 3) Clicking the Firefox 'Back' arrow to return to the Google search results. If at that point I either reload the Google results page, or click back a page and then forward again, the full search results are then displayed again.
This happens on my Windows 7 PC as well as my Vista Notebook. Is this a glitch with text zooming and Google in Firefox version 34?

    '''>>Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.<'''
Setting that made no difference. I ran 30-40 test searches on Google with that set and Firefox restarted in Safe Mode with all add-ons disabled. The problem persists on the vast majority of searches. However backing up to Google search results after following some links doesn't result in the problem.
For instance when I do a Google search from www.google.com (USA) on [https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=%22Steve+Gibson%22+ "Steve Gibson"] and click the first result, which for me is his Wikipedia page: [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Gibson_%28computer_programmer%29 "Steve Gibson (computer programmer) - Wikipedia"]. If I hit CTRL/+ a couple times to zoom text after the page loads, and then click Firefox's 'Back" icon, the previous Google search result page will be empty.
However if I click on the 2nd result in Google's search results, which for me is [https://www.grc.com/stevegibson.htm "GRC | Steve Gibson's WebZone:"], I can zoom the text several times and then click back to the Google search results and find them all displayed fine.
But I've been having this problem when backing up to Google search results probably 70-90% of the time since I updated from Firefox v33 to v34.
It's frustrating because Firefox seems to remember the text zoom level for entire domains. So if I zoom on one Wikipedia page, Firefox will display all Wikipedia pages I visit subsequently at that zoom level. I used to love this feature. But it's become a real pain now when I back up to Google.
BTW: If in the 1st example above, I first reset the text zoom level while I'm still on the Steve Gibson Wiki page, all the Google search results are displayed fine after I click Firefox's 'Back" icon. I don't have this problem in Chrome or Opera.

  • Why does Firefox no longer display .php suffix web pages which are in my Mac?

I have a question about Firefox 14.0.1 displaying .php suffix web page files which are in a Mac running Mountain Lion OS 10.8. In eaarlier versions of Mac OS, for example 10.4.7, I was able to see properly displayed web page files with .html and .php suffixes when those web page files were in my computer. I refer to seeing the page as it should properly display, not seeing the source code. If a page had a .php suffix, the browser displayed the page properly although any php scripts embedded in that page were ignored.
Apple occasionallly updated its OS and browser makers occasionally updated browsers. One day, I noticed that Safari no longer displayed web page files in my Mac if those pages had a .php suffix. However, Firefox and other browsers continued to display web page files with .php suffixes although the embedded php scripts were ignored.
Now, I have Mountain Lion in iMac.
I can no longer see .php suffix web page files in my computer regarless of the browser I use. No browser displays those pages.
A .php suffix web page file which Firefox and other browsers display in 10.4.7 does not display in 10.8 if that web page file is in the computer.
In my computer, I have html and php suffix web page files I want to see using a browser. The files I want to see and the browser both are in my computer. Html files display perfectly with one exception: if php scripts are embedded in the html files, the scripts are ignored. A file the name of which ends with ".php" will not be displayed regardless of whether there is a php script in the file. Safari displays the source code only. Chrome does not display the file at all. Firefox and SeaMonkey, which displayed .php suffix web page files in earlier versions of the Mac OSm now respond to such pages by providing a dialog box which seems to assume that the file is about to be downloaded from the Internet. The dialog box asks me if I want to use the browser to open the file or if I want to save it to disk. The file is on the disk at the time, and the computer is disconnected from the Internet. I click that I want to use the browser to open the file. Then the dialong box reopens with the same question. This happens over and over. I never get to see a web page file in my computer the name of which ends with ".php". With Firefox 14.0.1, I can see .php suffix web pages which are on the Internet or in a 10.4.7 Mac but not in a 10.8 Mac. Did I miconfigure Firefox? It seems unlikely that Firefox lost the ability to display pages in Mac OS 10.8 which it displays in `10.4.7. How can I solve this web page display problem?

Haroon mentions two solutions. I used the easier one, which is to start the Apache webserver already in Mountain Lion and to enable the php already in Mountain Lion. It worked. I see the file correctly displayed with html, css, and php. I see the page by using Firefox. I enter an address in the address bar. For example, the address might be "localhost/example/example.php". I cannot see the page by using Firefox's "Open File ..." menu option or by dragging the file's icon onto Firefox's icon. I tried using your solution also but was unable to find the specific preference to modify. I found the page of preferences which may be modified but I could not find the one I need. I found a list of descriptions of the preferences at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_FAQs_:_About:config_Entries
but I could not find the specific preference which I need.
By the way, to enable loading the php module, one uncomments a line of code by deleting the initial "#" character, and one does that by pressing control key and "P" key while the cursor is over the "#" character.
Also by the way, when I use Firefox or Safari to look at the Apache web directory in which my files are, the files are listed case sensitively. For example, the files are listed: Ace, Zygote, bar. This is because lower case follows upper case. THis annoys me. I prefer case insensitive listing. When I llok directly athe directory without using a browser, the files are listed case insensitively. For example, they are listed: Ace, bar, Zygote. I guess taht Apache is doing this.

  • Firefox Doesn't display correctly and is very laggy on sites with CloudFlare DDoS Protection

Since 35.0 and above i have been getting weird behaviour on sites with CloudFlare DDoS protection.
When i open the site in a new window, it takes a really long time and sometimes doesn't display at all and gives me a blank page. and now it just starts to say "New Tab" and i can't hit refresh.
When the site actually loads after 20 something attempts, the site is laggy, any action takes upwards of 20 seconds.
Whenever i try to open something, i get a blank page with the URL at tabs. Whenever i try to like or post anything, it delays by 15-20 seconds.
Site i am trying to use with much failure. http://hypixel.net/

  • Outlook Web Access doesn't display when in a Page

    Hi guys,
I have set up an IView to access Outlook Webmail, as per the normal help documents, and the IView works perfectly - displays my Inbox and everything. If I add the IView into a workset, users are able to view their Inbox too.
However, If I create a Page and put the IView on that page, the Inbox no longer displays - it just has a blank window where the Inbox should appear. Right-clicking on the blank page and going to Properties, I can see that its going to the correct web address.
My question is, why doesn't the Inbox display when the IView is in a Page?
    Thanks,
    Michael.
PS, Here's something unusual... In Content Administration --> Portal Content, when I right-click on the Page and choose "preview" it displays the Inbox properly. However, it doesn't display when its accessed from a Workset.

Yes, I have added the Page to the Workset, and also the IView to the Page.
If I set up a temporary workset, And assign the 2 objects to it (the IView and the Page), they appear as links at the top of my Portal. When I click the link assigned to the IView, the Inbox is shown. When I click the link assigned to the Page, it only shows a blank window instead of the Inbox.
    Michael.

have to refresh my browser in order for the right page to show up.
Once it did, then it stays as that.
The thing is, my client still sees the old news page even
after I've replaced it with the new codes.
I've done this for him for over 3 months, and this problem
    has never occur before.
I don't understand why it's like this. If this is happening
to him, wouldn't it be happening to other people's computer as
well. If it is, then it's bad news, cause no one would like to
always have to refresh their browser for the right news page to
    show.
Could anyone explain why this is happening? And how would it
affect other users? Or is this even possible.
    Thanks in advance, everyone.
    Jen

It sounds like a cache issue. When you view the page, that
page is loaded into your (or your client's) browser's cache memory.
This is done so that when you return to that page it will load
faster (since it is already loaded into memory).
This will only happen if a person has been to the page
recently. There is a limit on the amount of information your
browser will store in cache memory. The more you surf, the more
likely it is that the page will be replaced in the cache memory
    with some other information.
You (and your client) can, depending on what browser you are
using, set your preferences so that all web pages will be
completely reloaded every time you visit them. In IE 6 for Win:
Tools>Internet Options>Settings> Select 'Every visit to
the page'. You can also set your cache to be the minimum amount of
space alotted. Note: This doesn't really work very well in IE 6 for
WIN. I use firefox for reviewing changes because I have found IE 6
is completely unreliable for viewing the latest.
Most other browsers will allow you to hold down Shift and hit
'refresh' to throw out the cache for that page and view the latest.
As far as I know this is standard operating procedure for proofing
    new pages.
If there is a coding technique to force a browser to use only
the latest information, I don't know what it is.
    Good luck.
