Firefox for aol dose not work with aol emails. Why

Since the email inter face changed I can no longer send email attachments, even items embeded in the email body come out blank at the other end. I use Firefox configured for AOL but that dose not make any difference. I had no problems untill this change is there anyway to reset it. AOL say the problem must be with your software. They sujested that I try using IE 9, I would rather stay with Firefox as I find it is a much better browser.

I have had the problem of Yahoo! mail freezing (my computer freezing) with Firefox right after I boot up my computer and sign into my Yahoo! mail account. I have to either shut down my computer or use Control + Alt and press Delete to eventually bring up the Task Manager option. Then, once the choice for Task Manager comes up, I can click on cancel and Yahoo! mail and my computer have "un-frozen." I have followed all the recommendations for updating Firefox, clearing caches, checking if an Add-On is the problem, etc., as well as all the recommendations on Yahoo! help pages. Nothing has improved the situation to date. Firefox info says the problem is with Yahoo! Yahoo! says it is a browser problem. I just want the problem to be fixed.

  • Mac Mini not working with AOL Cable modem

    All,
I just bought a brand new Mac Mini but it not working with AOL. My windows XP PC working well with AOL but not with mac mini. Any suggestions? thanks
    Hung

I just found an interesting thing that i brought my mac mini to Apple store where i bought it. Hook up with store cable, it can go thru to internet with out sign on AOL. ALso I can connect to AOL very easy. Brought it back home, I tried to open browser w/o sign on AOL like i did at Apple store, it did not work. I also tried to sign on AOL alone, still not work either. The weird thing is, my other Windows XP computer is working well with AOL. I called customer service of AOL for help, who takes care the Mac computer, asked me to follow the simple procedure that I already did before i called them like unplug cable modem, restart computer...etc. Nothing new, and then they transfered me back and forth between Mac and Windows specilist with no help. I was on phone with them for 2 hours yesterday. I'm very disappoint with AOL customer service with the way they serve the customer. I'm thinking to cancel membership with AOL where i stay with them more than 10 years, and look for another cable or DSL ISP. Now I'm packing the Mac Mini back to box and bring it to Apple store to return it. Next thing, is search around which ISP, who supports the Apple comp. I'm living at Los Angeles area where's very easy to find a local ISP Verizon, Earthlink, Road Runner... I'll be back to buy a new Mac when i get the internet ready. I love Apple computer, and i want to have it.

Since I installed the latest Firefox my Roboform dose not work. It still works with IE.

I have Roboform Pro, I don't want to down grade to Lite. Roboform is working, but I can't get the full Toolbar to display all that shows up is the Show Toobar icon and nothing happens when I click it. So I can't fill in log on forms. Isn't there a way to get the pro version to work?

  • Versamail Auto-sync feature not working with AOL mail w/Treo 700p (Verizon)

I'm having a problem with the Auto-sync feature not working with my 700p (verizon) with my aol mail.  It had worked perfect since May 2007.  Just started having problems End of April 2008.  Sounded like I needed another incoming mail server from aol other than:  imap.aol.com, aol told me they also use pop.aol.com, that isn't working either.  I get an error message that says "last auto-sync attempt failed."....Anyone else having this issue?  I'm trying to decide whether to get rid of my aol mail of 14 yrs and use other address to continue using versamail 3.5  or keep aol and use Verizon Wireless sync.  I do not like how wireless sync sends mail to outbox and then syncs vs sending right away.   Please help...
Post relates to: Treo 700p (Verizon)

I am having the EXACT same problem: Palm 700p, Versamail, AOL, Verizon.
It started about 1 month ago.  The GET still works, but AUTO-SYNC does not...After spending hours on the phone with Palm tech support, and reaching someone who said AOL had changed something in their servers.  They suggested TRYING Chatteremail, another Palm product.  I have tried it for 20+ days out of the 30 days you get for free.  It works pretty well, but NOT every e-mail that goes to my AOL acct is making it to my phone.  The thing that's great about Chatter is that can be "live" all of time.  Not auto-syncing every 15 minutes.
It's very frustrating....The same way the Versamail just stopping auto-syncing is very frustrating.  With Versamail, sometimes I did not even get the error message.  If Chatteremail worked consistently, I would bite the bullet, and pay for it, but to pay for it, and have it not pull down all the e-mails, all the time is not good.
I spoke to Palm Tech Support in N. America today, and they say the way AOL uses IMAP servers is in a non-traditional way, and it's very hard to deal with.  They suggest ditching AOL, and using something reliable for syncing purposes like GMAIL.  It's just hard to cut the cord.  The man I was on the phone with knew of my problem, and he solved it by getting rid of AOL.  It's just tough, since so many people have the e-mail address for me.
    On http://mobile.aol.com/aolproducts/mobile-email/mail-client
there seems to be some indication when you click on Smart Phones on left, that Coming Soon is Palm, but I don't know if that's going to be downloadable for 700p, or Palms moving forward.  Or how far away that is.
I tried wireless sync and hated it.
This is really a pain in the butt.
*** Who did you speak to at AOL?
*** How did you reach them?  e-mail?  phone #?
I also did a search and found another program called "Snappermail", which I might try, and see if it's any better than Chatteremail.

  • Firefox Version 11.0 not working with Yahoo! Babel Fish!

I just updated Firefox to Version 11.0 on my Mac OS X Version 10.6.8. The '''Yahoo! Babel Fish''' still does not work with non-Roman based scripts, such as '''Russian''', '''Greek''', '''Chinese''', ''etc''.
If you attempt to translate text in one of such scripts into English, both the input and output windows get garbled characters (which are supposed to be codes of some sort); if you attempt to translate English into one of these languages, you get a blank space.
If I use '''Safari''' Version 5.1.4, however, '''Yahoo! Babel Fish''' works perfectly.
Hope this problem can be solved soon.
    Thanks!

I've had the same issues for the past couple of months. I did not see your question earlier in the day, so I posted a similar question here:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/923500
@cor-el - He says it works fine in Safari. It works fine for me in Chrome or IE also. This is not an issue with the babelfish page. This is a Firefox issue.

  • HP B500 Wireless Bluethooth Adapter for HP Printer Not Working With Windows 8.1

I have been using the HP BT500 bluetooth Wireless adapter to print wirelessly to my HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer.  I have been using Windows Vista, but recently upgraded to Windows 8.1.  I learned after the upgrade that the HP B500 wireless bluetooth adapter is not compatable with Windows 8.1.  I have attempted to find a driver upgrade for the B500, but there does not appear to be one available.  I have also searched the HP site and other sites in an attempt to locate an alter wireless blotth adapter to replace the B500, but have again been unable to locate one.
Is there a wireless bluetooth apter that will allow me to print wirelessly to my HP Office Pro 8500 from my laptop?

    Hi @Raider83,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP B500 wireless bluetooth adapter for your HP Officejet 8500 is not working with Windows 8.1. I am sorry to hear this but happy to look into this for you!
I am not sure if you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System. But sometimes with Windows 8.1 you can use compatibility mode to install an older version of the driver. Which might help the situation. Here is a link to some other Windows drivers, HP bt500 Bluetooth USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter Drivers.
Once you got a driver downloaded, follow this guide, Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows, on how to install it using compatibility mode.  It is not guaranteed to work, but it is worth a try!
If you still need me to look for other bluetooth adapters, please respond with your printer's Product/Model Number. To find your printer's Product/Model Number follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number. As there are multiple HP Officejet 8500 printers.
Thank you for posting, and have a nice day!

  • Firefox version 4 does not work with Mac OS 10.4.11. Is there a fix for this? Alternatively, how do I download an older version of Firefox that will work?

I have a an older IMAC as a second computer. I replaced an older version of Firefox with the new update. I had to do this because Firefox gave me a message that the older version would no longer work. The new version 4.0 will not open even after it is put in the applications folder. I get a message that says this version is not compatible with my Operating system. I don't want to change the OS at the moment.
Can anyone help? I'd like to just download an older version of Firefox if that is the only way to make this work, but I can't find an older version on the website.
    Thanks very much.

Had the same problem; would have been nice if they had told s that we need an intel processor on our older Macs! I am up and running again.

  • Firefox 14.0.1 not working with Mac OS10.8

Ever since upgrading to Mac Mountain Lion, Firefox (most updated) not working (mostly links don't work). AOL mail will open but cannot open individual emails. Uploading of info on various websites (e.g. CNN.com) slow and articles only come up AFTER ads load. Whole system is slow. Went through troubleshooting list and now all my bookmarks appear to be lost...I'm not a very happy camper because I don't like Safari...but it is the only browser that works.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.

  • Firefox 32.0.3 not working with Flash 15.0.152

I have been automatically updated by Firefox to v32.0.3 and Shockwave Flash v15.0.0.152 is set to Always Activate in my Firefox browser. It shows that I have the current version (updated). So all should be well, right? I have (2) computers with Windows 8 and (1) with Windows 7. Since Firefox has hit the v30 my browser has been working poorly. My business has an auto auction software application that we market to used car dealers and classic car dealers. The application is Flex/Flash/Java based Currently I can not get any of the auction data to load online using Firefox on any computers mentioned above. There is no problem on any computers using Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. This issue began about the end of June I believe and was intermittent until the beginning of October 1014 when it became permanent. The Firefox updates have occurred during the past 30 days.
I am very concerned because many of our users and bidders use Firefox and will not be able to Register, Login or Bid plus the users will not be able to login to their Admin and add auction lots.
I know it is good to have updates and being Open Source allows for a lot of new innovations but really why so many changes and updates. I have used Firefox for about 15 years now always shying away from Internet Explorer but now I will need to leave Firefox and recommend to our customers to only use IE or Chrome if this issue can not be remedied.
I have seen a number of other Registered users stating that they have the same issue with V32.0.3 but I have not seen any resolution in any of the answers/comments. Because it literally took me all day to finally find out how to just ask this question leads me to believe that Firefox is perhaps a bit too big with too many new features coming much too fast. Certainly I do definitely appreciate those knowledgeable Members that take the time to answer the questions and comments like mine. You all must be swamped and I am adding to the work load. Maybe there can be some response about this issue in the search.
    Thanks for your help

I understand that you have 3 computers that can not get any of the auction data to load online using Firefox.
If it is a Flash issue, please try these troubleshooting steps:
    *Disable Hardware acceleration in Flash
*[[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
    * Try to disable hardware acceleration
*Make sure Java is up to date. [[Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems]]
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
#* In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
#* In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
#In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
    Thank you.

  • Firefox 4.0 will not work with my Knology email service when 3.6 will, why not?

I've cut and pasted the Knology response to my question. As you can read below, Knology states it is Firefox issue.
    Mr. Stanley,
Thank you for contacting Knology Technical Support. I do apologize that you are having problems accessing the webmail service with Firefox. As the error message states this is a problem with Firefox dropping support for some type of code. The way its worded makes me assume that it will be available as a plug in or extension for Firefox, but we do not know what they have dropped out of the base browser. Both Internet Explorer and Google Chrome have no problems accessing the webmail.
    Thank you for choosing Knology,
    Roy

  • Firefox for Android: Search not working.

I just got Firefox for Android yesterday and I've been having the problem of the address bar being very inconsistent and giving me very strange results.
The very first thing I typed into the app was the first word that came to mind as a long-time user of Firefox for Windows: "woot". The expectation was that it would open up google search for the term "woot". Instead, it lead me to some website at www.woot.com.
Afterwards, I tried several other terms and found the following results: (quotes not included in the search)
"word" lead to a "Domain Not Found" page from my ISP
" word " lead to the same as above.
"word anotherword" lead to a Google search results page.
    "amazon" lead to amazon.com
"aw" lead to a Google search results page.
"it" lead to a Google search results page.
"go" lead to a "Domain Not Found" page from my ISP.
This all left me very dismayed, as typing in ANY of the above terms into my PC's Firefox's address bar as well as my old Opera Android browser's bars, would give me a Google search results page for the terms. Even when I search for "amazon", I expect to be given the option of searching for amazon rainforests instead of being forcibly taken directly to amazon.com.
So my main question is this: Is there any way to force Firefox for Android to use Google search *no matter what* is typed into the address bar?
I custom-fit a lot of the about:config settings for my FF on Windows to my liking, but have not been able to find a list of setting explanations for the Android version of FF. I am hoping that my problem can be fixed with some settings; and also if anyone has a list of them with explanations, I would highly appreciate a link to it.
    Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. I was testing those on my home Wifi (optimum ISP), as that is what I use most. I did test with my phone carrier's 4g also and did get slightly different results, but still does not fix the problem. Here are the differences:
    ======================
    "woot":
    * [Wifi] leads to www.woot.com.
    * [4G] tries to go to http://woot/; leads to a "not found" page from my mobile carrier with search.
    "word":
    * [Wifi] leads to a "Domain Not Found" page from my home ISP with search.
    * [4G] tries to go to http://word/; leads to a "not found" page from my mobile carrier with search.
    " word ":
    * [Wifi] leads to a "Domain Not Found" page from my home ISP with search.
    * [4G] ignores spaces and tries to go to http://word/; leads to a "not found" page from my mobile carrier with search.
    "word anotherword"
    * [Wifi] leads to a Google search results page.
    * [4G] leads to a Google search results page.
    "amazon"
    * [Wifi] leads to amazon.com.
    * [4G] tries to go to http://amazon/; leads to a "not found" page from my mobile carrier with search.
    "aw"

    * [4G] tries to go to http://go/; leads to a "not found" page from my mobile carrier with search.
    ======================
So weird! Can't even find much of a pattern minus that two words seem to do okay.
Furthermore, I just updated Firefox Android to version 24.0 which came out yesterday. Same exact results and the problem still persists.
I am using an HTC Amaze 4G from T-Mobile. Android version 4.0.3. All stock and unrooted.
Thank you again so much for your help!

  • Firefox 12 flash player not working with video on Facebook

Using Firefox 12, newest flash player 32 bit -- embedded video won't work on Facebook. I have tried another computer with XP SP3, completely removed firefox, flash, started in safe mode with add ons disabled, even created a new profile with no addons at all, and nothing seems to fix the problem. Video plays fine in Internet Explorer. That said, YouTube works fine so I don't think its a flash 'only' problem. (I right clicked on video to make sure flash was playing the video and not html 5.)

Is the Flash player loaded if you right-click that black box where the player should be?
Does it help if you try to "Disable the hardware acceleration" in the Flash Player?
