Firefox has been crashing a lot lately. All of this started with the 2nd-to-last Firefox update -- I refuse to do the new update because I'll lose an invaluable --to me-- add-on, ljlogin).

It does happen when I have multiple tabs open, but I generally have a LOT of tabs open so this is not new behavior from my browsing, Firefox is just not handling it anymore. All of this started with the 2nd-to-last Firefox update -- I refuse to do the new update because I'll lose an invaluable --to me-- add-on, ljlogin

Are you sure the multi-links icon on the bottom bar of your firefox window is enabled (ie not greyed out)?

Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
Note:
Also consider Deleting any Apps you have Purchased / Downloaded but you now never use...
2) For Safari:
Goto... Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data.

• All of a sudden the multi-links add-on is not working (and I use it a lot). All of this started with the 2nd-to-last Firefox update -- I refuse to do the new update because I'll lose an invaluable --to me-- add-on, ljlogin.

Multi-links won't even work a little bit. I've restarted Firefox. Disabled, restarted, and then flat-out removed multi-links, restarted, re-installed Multi-links, restarted my computer ... no dice.

Are you sure the multi-links icon on the bottom bar of your firefox window is enabled (ie not greyed out)?

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously, ignoring the red power off slider, until the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. This should not affect any content on the iPad, it is similar to rebooting your computer.
If that doesn't help, then restore the iPhone to the factory settings.

• Firefox has been crashing at random times for the last two days

Firefox has been crashing randomly for the last two days. I had to download Malwarebytes yesterday because I picked up Malware Doctor (I think that's the name.) It was soon after I had removed the spyware that Firefox started crashing.

• Firefox has been crashing when I try to close it and now won't open at all.

For some time now, Firefox has been timing out when I tried to close it, making it necessary to "force quit." Now it won't open at all. Even more strangely, I'm not able to send a crash report to Apple (I get the message "submission failed").
I've tried downloading the newest version, downloading plug-ins, and starting in "safe mode."
Also strange, in my bookmarks section the little icons had disappeared lately.

Sorry I do not use Mac s Unless someone provides a better answer I suggest you start with looking at
* [[latest firefox issues]] (watch for any updates about new issues)
* [[firefox crashes]]
That article provides general tips and suggestions, and explains how to obtain a crash ID, something that you can do even when firefox will not start
You may need to investigate the possibility of a malware problem, but try to obtain a crash ID first, that may provide a clue to the problem.

• Firefox has been crashing periodically - the latest crash signature was nsXPConnect::ReleaseJSContext(JSContext*, int). How can I fix this?

Recently I was having trouble opening Firefox at all, so I created a new profile and transferred a number of my settings from the old profile to the new one. Now Firefox opens on the new profile, but it has been periodically crashing, usually after only a few minutes every time. The latest crash gave me this crash signature: nsXPConnect::ReleaseJSContext(JSContext*, int)

Hello Deepa.
You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins the same way.
If you want support for one of your add-ons, you'll need to contact its author.

• Over the last week my Firefox has been crashing whenever i close games and sometimes in the middle of them. What is going on??

I got a new rogers box and I had a Norton Security installed and since then the games like farmville and cityville have been crashing on a regular basis. I have called about the Norton 3 times, and i tried the Internet wireless and wired and nothing has changed so I don't know what else they can do. Is there something wrong with the flash player over the last week????

It seems to be a common complaint. Norton Security does not play nicely with Firefox (or IE).

• Firefox has been crashing since I downloaded V 4.0.1 - how can I download the previous version, which almost never crashed?

The other day, I was able to start Firefox in safe mode, but have not been given the option since. What can I download to fix this?

#Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.17] and download it to the desktop.

#Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).

#Then reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

#Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.

After you complete the installation, go to the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update those where necessary.

• Firefox has been crashing daily. I have not found a fix. If I am unable to fix Firefox I will delete it and find annother APP.

All of a sudden out of the blue I get a message that Firefox has crashed. With several options, which pretty much make me start over. Quite frankly I am a bit P's and will remove Firefox from my system and find another more reliable App.

Damn thing crashes about every 40 minutes at best.
Bloody useless.
And yes I've tried disabling the add-ons and updating the plug-ins and every other measure known to man. Still doesn't work.

• Since the last update Firefox has been crashing constantly and something is VERY WRONG with the update!!!!!!!!! Why?

Since the last update to Firefox, I have had crashes non stop about every ten minutes or so, with very typical use. The update SUCKS and is crashing computers. I am SURE I am not the only one. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP. I have been a Firefox user forever, but now going to Chrome and Explorer until I hear from you about fixing this issue. Never before have I had this problem with Firefox. Bums me out. But I can't deal with the constant crashes and it is ABSOLUTELY since the last update a day or two ago.

Hello,

• Recently my firefox has been crashing often at random times, this has never happened before.

It started late last month i was just browsing some websites and all of a sudden my browser crashed. The sites I was browsing had nothing like flash or any other kind of video media on them, they were all text and image sites. And since then I've had several crashed at random and some very inconvenient intervals like online banking. These are the 5 most recent crashes I hope they can be helpful. Thank you very much for your help in advance.

• Firefox has been crashing nonstop for days now - what is the problem? I downloaded 4 and it's even worse now!

It is not just one site I am in - it just keeps crashing - asks me if I want to start over or go back but never goes back so have to completely get back into mail or whatever. It's becoming very annoying and will have to go to another internet site because this is just not right.

Hi there,
I would recommend you check your plugins. It is very possible that one of your plugins is the culprit and is in need of upgrading. Mozilla offers a great [https://www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ tool] for checking your plugins.
Hope that helps!
Mike
