Firefox not responding. Have done all troubleshooting but still not working. It won't even open now. Help please.

After going through all the troubleshooting suggestions and also uninstalling and re-installing Firefox, it still won't work. To begin with it was fading out and a 'not responding' notice appeared on the header, with the pointer turning to the timer but nothing was happening. It's been working well for ages and I haven't added anything or deleted anything recently, so can't understand why it should suddenly stop working.
I've followed all the troubleshooting advice and disabled the plug ins, also removed a lot of the add ons, still didn't work. Then I uninstalled it and re-installed it.
Now it won't even open. A window comes up saying it has crashed and giving me the option to re-start it or quit it. If I click re-start, it won't re-start.
I've even started it in safe mode but that won't stay open either, it opens for about a minute then just closes.
Please help, I really don't want to use any other search engine.

The thumbnails on the about:newtab page are generated from the cache, so if the page is not in the cache or otherwise can't be rendered as a PNG image then you will get an empty box.
*Do not use Clear Recent History to clear data like the cache and the history when you close Firefox
If there is no history then you get an about:newtab page with empty boxes.

When I restart my iPad the connect to iTunes comes up and stays on until it shuts down again, I have read a report from Apple support suggesting I reinstall iTunes so I might try that again and also your suggestion which i shall also try, but thanks again - rg1547

    Safari > Preference > Advanced
    Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
    "Develop" menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
    Click Develop and make sure that"Disable Images" is not enabled in the dropdown.

The sleepimage file still reappears even if never slept. Delete it (hibernate off, etc) - within minutes its back.

Try closing all apps in Multitask Window
1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
2. Swipe up on the screenshot of the app you want to exit.

Thanks, your advice prompted me to look at it again on itunes, and discovered that i have actually downloaded the full song instead of the ringtone. False alarm...and thank you!

Do you place the ipod in the dock during the night? I did this once and the other day the battery was almost empty because it kept on playing after it rested in the dock.

Just to make sure, try a different set of cables. If the problem persists, have the unit replaced by Apple.

Have uninstalled it several times, and reinstalled to no avail.
Have checked log files and changed permissions to read-write on all folders/files that the log files suggest.
I still can't apply the update and Illustrator won't eve launch with it.

Quit Safari, find the com.apple.Safari.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder, drag it to the Desktop, log out/in or restart and let us know what happens.

Firefox won't even open now that I've installed Snagit - what can I do to fix this?

Today I bought and downloaded Snagit (TechSmith) for Macintosh. When the program was being installed it asked me if I wanted a nifty Firefox extension installed. I stupidly (as it turns out) agreed! Now, Firefox won't even open. I've tried restarting the computer and still no luck. How can I diagnose the problem with Firefox? (I know that I could just download Firefox again but I don't want to lose my many bookmarks etc.)
I opened the file in the Firefox Application folder that gives crash information and it mentioned Error Code 1?

PS downloaded via CC seemed to download fine but won't work. Won't even open a file/document.

What does the crash report say about the name of the faulting module?
Yes, crashes like that are usually due to the video card driver. (though I was guessing from the original description that the image was just not drawing)
Have you tried disabling GPU drawing in Photoshop before opening a document?
Have you updated your video card driver from the GPU maker's website?
