Firefox screen blurry and unreadable (as if way out of focus); don't know how to correct. Browser is unusable. Disappointed in Mozilla cust svc.
As stated, Firefox screen is blurry and unreadable (as if way out of focus). One day, it worked; the next, it did not. Not sure if there was an upgrade as I did not request or accept one. All I know is Firefox is unusable and I've had to switch to another browser just to get online. You cannot do anything in Firefox because everything is illegible.
Try launching Firefox while holding the '''Shift''' key to open the Firefox SafeMode, and see how it is.

The laptop's too far away from the router to be connected by ethernet. It's all wifi.
No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?
I'm glad that you've all understood my ramblings and taken and interest, thanks The way I see it, I can't be the only netbook user these days looking for this kind of convenience, and I certainly won't be once chrome and moblin hit the market.

I have a school ipad with iCloud using a different ID (my school email address) . I am leaving and want to buy my own ipad and transfer all my data and docs to my personal iCloud account but don't know how to do this without deleting all data and photos?

So, the article you have there, HT4895, is pretty good. Just look at the FAQ section of it.
But basically, you will want to create a backup on your computer through iTunes...Just plug your current iPad into it and make sure your iPad and iTunes are logged in with the same Apple ID. At that point, just create a backup.
When you get your new iPad, and before you plug it in or set it up, follow the directions in this link to change your Apple ID. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621?viewlocale=en_US
Once you have that done, plug your new iPad into your computer to sync up with iTunes. Follow the directions for Restore from Backup and it should bring all that info back to your new iPad.
And changing your Apple ID email info will allow you to have your own!!! This should solve all your issues and GL!!! -
I am trying to upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard. When I insert the disk and install starts, it states "This disk is used for Time Machine backups" and Mac OSX can't be installed. Does anyone know how to correct this (since Tiger doesn't have Time Machine)?

Hi, I've checked how to use Kannada keyboard in Yosemite. But, there are some 'vattu forms' and other grammar in Kannada language that I don't know how to use it. I know how to change between the keyboards and can also view keyboard. However, For eg, 'Preetiya taatanige nimma muddu mommagalu maduva namaskara' How to write this? Thanks in advance for your reply.In general, you need to use the "f" (kannada qwerty keyboard) or "d" key (kannada) between letters to make special forms. Also you may need to adjust the typography settings of the font, which is done by doing Format > Font > Show Fonts > Gear Wheel > Typography as shown below. If you can provide screenshots or more detailed info on things you cannot make, I can perhaps help.
It is important to note that MS Word for Mac does not support Indic scripts -- any other app should work OK. -

Settings is an App like any other app on the iPad. Tap on the Settings icon to launch the app and make changes.

The program was installed on Friday morning though it didn't happen fast and I forgot and left the computer running when I went to work. This happened to be the day that my internet connection was cutoff because I was switching from cnet to Qwest as my ISP. (Still don't know why they did this, but Qwest helped me reset the modem and I can use Internet explorer.)
Why won't Firefox open? It must think it is open.You probably have other problems but for a start right click on your task bar and click on Start Task Manager. In "Applications" if Firefox is shown, click on "End Task". In "Processes" if Firefox.exe is shown, click on "End Process" and ignore the warning and click"End Process" again. Wait for a few seconds then start Firefox in the usual way. There is a chance that this may solve your problems.
If not, you probably will need to do a complete uninstall and re-install. If you can't start Firefox you could try starting in Safe Mode - Hold down Shift key as you double click on the Firefox icon>ignore the page that opens>and Continue. If you've been able to open Firefox you could work through this Troubleshooting Procedure -

Firefox update is constantly failing and is stuck in a loop. I don't know how to bypass this. Help
When I start firefox, it automatically tries to install an update. This fails and it repeats, getting stuck in a loop which I can not get out of. Consequently, I am unable to open firefox and use the internet on this program. I have clicked ok, closed the dialogue box and ended the program using the task manager. None of these have worked. I prefer using firefox to other browsers but have had to return to internet explorer for the time being.

Remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder:

Do a clean reinstall:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling. -
I think it is not really legal to automaticly install certain features on my computer without my consent so I expect a fast and VERY reasonable answer!

Originally, some months ago, I was at my Yahoo e-mail site, and a notice came up suggesting that I update my Firefox. I clicked for them to go ahead and start the process. It didn't install anything, but this *thing* appeared on my (Mac) desktop that said *yahoo_firefox_3.6.8_setup_is.dmg*. I continued to get noticed to upgrade, and I thought by clicking on that button did that.
Tonight, I decided to try again. This time, the same thing happened. It downloaded on my desktop, but didn't install. Now I have two files sitting on my (Mac) desktop. The original that says 3.6.8 and the new one which says the same thing except that it is a 5.0 version. I have a Mac OS X 10.4.11 system.
My questions: How do I install Firefox from my desktop with the file thingy they sent me? and (2) What version do I use?When I clicked on the second site mentioned, I got such EXPLICIT, step-by-step directions!!! Thank you so much. I'd been wondering what that window was that kept popping up with the Firefox icon and that other funny thing. The word *install* was never mentioned. Pictographs were never my thing.
When I looked under the initial system requirements, it said that OS X 10.4.5 and higher were good for 5.0. I didn't check further. Under your advice, I'll go with the older version. Thank you for taking the time to help me.
