Firefox tries to apply an older update version instead of the newest
When I try to update Firefox by clicking on Help -> Apply Downloaded Update Now, the update is 3.6.3 while I already have 3.6.7 installed. This happened before when I tried to update to 3.6.7 so I just downloaded the installer.

With any update/upgrade you should always do a back up first.
If you have files that have been done on a Clssic Mac platform, they need Rosetta to run, this only runs on SL.
So consider that, also some older versions of iWork...have some issues as well.
But your machine should be able to run Mavs.

I was just wondering if it is possible to download a older version of iTunes instead of the newest one. My reason behind that being is I'm using an older computer that is running on windows, and if I were to download the latest version, not only would it take hours to download on my computer but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't run properly due to my ancient RAM system. so I was hoping somebody out there would know how to do download iTunes 10.6.3 version from apple? the reason I ask for this version is because its the oldest version my iPod can run on. I rented a movie and was charged for it, it started to download but says I do not have enough space. I tried to delete it so I could download the SD version instead of the HD version but am unable to do that what can I do???

I tried updating iphone 6 to 8.1.3 But the phone went dead. I have tried using restore options - both update and erase, but the process stops when it tries to update Iphone firmware.
Put your phone in DFU mode,
Hold the Power Button (3 secs)
Continue holding the power button and also hold the home button (15 secs)
Release the power button while continuing to hold the home button (10 secs)
Your device should prompt with the "Connect to iTunes Screen"

Hi. I'm trying to transfer purchases to update my iphone but the suggested options are either greyed out or don't exist. How do I transfer purchases?
Just to clarify - When I follow the instructions to "transfer purchases from iphone to computer" prior to updating my iphone the options suggested are greyed out. The Transfer Purchases option under Devices in the File menu is greyed out. Can anyone explain why its greyed out and how I can make the option available?

I was recently updating my phone to the newest software after ios7. It froze for quite a while so I tried holding down the home button and the power button and it shut off. Now it says I have to restore my whole phone but an Error keeps occurring? It brings me to a website saying the steps to possibly fix it but I don't find them helpful

I am updating my phone to the newest IOS and it has been doing it for hours. I have now plugged it into the computer and it says that it is in recover mode and I should restore it? What does that mean? Do I lose everything on my phone? Is there anything else I can do?
Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

I remembered when I install the new version the device asked me if I want to use iCloud and I clicked "No",

I've just updated my Itunes to the newest update (iso7 I think) and now my itunes won't even open. It just jumps 2-3 times on my dock then doesn't open. I have no idea what to do , please help!
Open Finder. Go to the "Go" menu in the menu bar. Press and hold Control and click on Library. Go to "Preferences". Find a file named, "com.apple.iTunes.plist" and delete that file. This won't delete your iTunes content. It will reset iTunes. Try it again.

How do I change the default program to open Pages docs to the old (4.3) version instead of the new one (5.0)? When I do what Apple said and go to a Pages file in finder and select "get info" then select "Pages 4.3" and "change all" it just defaults to the new one even though I'd selected the old one. Do I need to completely uninstall the new version of Pages or is there another work around because the new version of Pages comes dreadfully short of the features I need that are included in the old one?

Actually there is a workaround.
If you open the file in Pages 5, it can then be exported on Pages 0.9 format to another folder. I had to do this as the document was only in iCloud and couldn't be recoverd by Time Machine.

Problem is my phone was given to me by a friend of mom's and he just gave me the phone I had to buy a new sim card. It has been working all right until now. Should I go buy a new sim card? Help!
Your phone is locked to a carrier. Only a SIM from that carrier can be used to activate the phone. Ask the "friend of your mom's" to which carrier the phone is locked. You'll then need to contact that carrier and see if you are eligible to have the phone unlocked. If not, the phone is useless to you.

I've got older systems, ones that can't handle CS6, and a budget too low to purchase a new system and your software even with a student discount. Is there any way to use an update version? I wish that all of the "Creative Suite[s] products [would] continue to be available for sale via ESD on Adobe.com"(Adobe)*, or at least most of them. I understand the need to update, and that the industry is difficult with competitors, but I wish that all of your software versions were aimed towards 32 bit systems too. There are plenty that can keep up with the operating System updates, and I only wish that you would have kept at least CS5 on support instead of shutting it down. So, if you won't accept support of older products, can you help me with this? Or is this beyond any of the software contracts that is in the company's power? I appreciate any assistance in this matter.
*CS6 FAQYou can only buy CS6 and CC. Otherwise you will have to find someone willing to part with his license and run a license transfer. Though, quite frankly this doesn't really make sense. You can buy cheap laptops withe a suitable 64bit version of Windows 7/ 8 for 300 Euros. The money saved could easily be invested in a CC student plan rather than possibly trying to find an overpriced older version with the risk of getting scammed... Otherwise you can use the trials of course, but that's about it.
