Firefox was not running smoothly, so I unistalled it and any every folder that had anything to do with Firefox or Mozilla, then reinstalled the newest version and now it says that it cannot open because "a copy of firefox is already open." What now?

I am running Mac OSX 10.5 and have never had issues with firefox. Then I noticed it starting to run much slower and having issues freezing, yet if I used safari there were no problems. I decided to uninstall firefox and all of the folders that go along with it to get a clean restart with a new download. Everything seemed to download fine, but when I attempt to open firefox it just opens a warning that says "a copy of firefox is already open" and my only option is to close the program. Yes, I have quit ALL applications and even restarted the computer to make sure nothing is running first.
This may be completely unrelated, but another issue nonetheless, shortly before I started having issues with firefox, it no longer would go to the hotmail login page to check my email. I didn't change any settings, but it would not load that webpage even though every other page works fine. I know it is not a problem with the hotmail site because every other computer in my home will go to the site and login, plus I can get into my email by going to MSN and logging in from there.

Make sure that you haven't left a profiles.ini file.

I have tried multiple times to download the new iTunes, but every time the message saying the old version cannot be removed pops up. Any suggestions?

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

I just downloaded the new iphone software to 6.0,1 and my iphone no longer sync's with my outlook 2010 calendar or contacts. It goes through the motions but the changes are not updated to my iphone.

I have a 4s as well and sync my calendar and contacts to Outlook 2010. I have not updated from 5.1.1 as of yet. I was curious if you sync through iTunes and if so do you do that over the usb cable or wifi? I had seen in another post on this issue where somebody was using 2007 and upgrading to 2010 resolved but you are already there. Have you scanned your pst file yet?

I cannot access firefox because it says it is already running. It is asking me to close the program that is running I cannot find where it is. I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version. It did not correct the problem

when I click the firefox link a window pops up saying a the program is already running and I must close that program in order to run a current one. I went through task manager and then completly uninstalled firefox and reinstalled the newest version. This did not help.

Now look for C:\Documents and Settings\''username''\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles or some part of that path, or your actual profile folder, which would have had a semi-random name, typically ending with default, or the bookmarkbackups folder, which is the ultimate prize.

That needs to run ASAP before deleted files are overwritten.

I guess what I have experienced might be a special case of 'Restore previous sessions'. The actual situation was that after I rebooted my laptop, Adobe update jumped out indicating an update being finished successfully. After I clicked on the 'close' button of the Adobe window, it automatically started firefox and linked to its website. But I did not find the 'Restore previous sessions' page this time. Then I restarted firefox, this time there was a start page with 'Restore previous sessions'. However, sadly enough, it is only restored my pinned pages plus the Adobe website. Actually, I am using 'bookmark all tabs' from time to time to secure opened tabs, but this time I did not expect such an incident. I would suggest to improve the 'Restore previous sessions' with multiple time tags and appear in all cases including my reported case here, after updating firefox, crashes etc. I like firefox in most occasions, therefore believe and hope it becomes better and more robust. Go to My Music folder.

When I try to reopen Firefox, it says its already running and to restart my computer or close it down. But, it isn't open. This just started when I downloaded the newest version

The newest version of firefox is NOT STABLE. I have gone back to Firefox 3.0.5, and that works fine. FIX IT

I have a Macbook- I'm running OSX version 10.5.8. Previous versions of firefox have always worked fine. I downloaded the newest version of firefox, and have had all sorts of problems with it. After about 6 weeks of struggling with it, I have gone back to version 3.0.5. I know it's an earlier version, but the performance is way better. Windows and tabs open quickly, there are no loading problems on any sites, and other browsers work fine now, too. I run safari and google chrome also. I was almost at the point where I was going to pass on firefox altogether. In my opinion, the newest version is NOT STABLE and unless you fix the problems, I will not use it. This was a terrible experience and I will not try a new version right now. I'm just happy that I have a stable version of firefox again. And by the way, the older version is way faster loading pages, too.

Going all the way back to Firefox 3.0.5 is shear foolishness, it is 14 security versions behind the last 3.0.19 release. And that version is missing at least a dozen security updates that were applied to the 3.5 and 3.6 versions after support for 3.0.x ended.
If you are not happy with Firefox 4, you should have installed Firefox 3.6.17. That is very similar to the 3.0 and has all the security fixes that have been released since support for Firefox 3.0.x ended last year.

Is a ARMv6 version of the newest version of Firefox 4 Mobile (not Fennec's nightly build) already in development or in planning?

I own a HTC Wildfire, and I think it's really ashame that Firefox 4 Mobile is not out for phones with an ARMv6 processor yet, only for ARMv7 processors. I'd love to try the newest version of the mobile version of Firefox, because I see many improvements since Fennec.
So I was wondering if Mozilla is already developing Firefox 4 for ARMv6 phones. These are a lot of phones, so I don't think they should be skipped.

In most cases you can simply "upgrade" (meaning downgrade) directly from the installation. It would be a good idea to save your passwords & bookmarks just to be on the safe side.
