Firefox won't let me allow a security certificate

I need connect to work remotely, but firefox won't let me. Says it can't verify the gateway and it's not safe to connect to the server. It doesn't even give me any option except to view the certificate. when I do that, it just ways that Windows doesn't have enough information to verify the certificate. Help!

Thanks -- however, I did previously and marked it as an exception. Now it says that it is a valid certificate, but I am still not allowed access -- I get the same message.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

It won't. Explorer will go there, but Firefox won't. I don't want to open an extra document. I want to visit the site in my browser.

Firefox won't let me upload files to nearly any Web site, so how can I fix this issue?

Whether it is gmail, Facebook, or more specifically this site (http://www.carnivalentertainment.com/index.htm), Firefox won't let me upload any type of file. Of course, if the Web site offers a standard uploader then I have a better chance of having a successful upload, but if it is not offered, then I am basically out of luck.

Firefox won't let me select options from drop down menus, on the previous version nor on the current 4.0 version that I just downloaded.

Firefox won't let me "book mark" any more

I recall finding it before and reading lots of comments about problems with version 5--which I didn't download for that reason. I don't know what you mean about storing them. I saved them. I had a number of "folders" that contained websites I wanted to access quickly. These seem to have disappeared. I have no way of remembering all of them so can't re-create them.
Is there something that got "turned off" when I downloaded the new version of Firefox?

You are in the right area, this is the support forum.
You should not make the profile read only, that will cause problems, for instance you will not be able to change settings or add bookmarks.
Before you go any further try to make a copy of the current profile including the sub folders and files, and any accessible previous profile. (For instance are you using a disk image of the hdd prior to it being wiped, does that have the old profile on it) this suggestion is made because some of that information is likely to be useful, but is being put at risk of being deleted or overwritten.

A potential problem is that you may have tried to restore from a Windows backup, they do not always work, and may need another clean re-install, but note do NOT delete the profile it is the program files that may need deleting.

# try a new profile

I'm not sure what you mean by "the + box". Is that a feature on one of your toolbars?

Firefox won't let priting window to open, switch to safari ,printer works,

firefox won't let prints , no window, or messgae for printing comes up,,tried system preference..no luck,, so i switched to safari,, now prints out. so i know printer works,

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F). 
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear. 
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.

Flash player won't let me allow my webcam or microphone

Whenever the allow webcam box comes up I can't click on anything in the box to allow it. Even when I right click>settings it won't let me click on anything.
My OS is Windows Vista premium
I'm using the latest version of firefox and the latest version of flash (I just updated it)
My webcam is some sort of ALBA (I can't find the instruction booklet!)

Firefox won't let me compose, or reply to, webmail

When I use Internet Explorer to access webmail, I can read messages, delete messages, reply to messages, and compose messages.
But when I use Firefox to access webmail, though I can read messages and delete messages, when I try to reply to messages or to compose messages, I get only a blank Firefox page; and that blank Firefox page won't let me write on it, nor will it allow me to compose webmail messages or reply to received webmail messages.
