Second question - In anticipation of not being able to do that, I bought (at University bookstore) Acrobat XI Pro - do I need to uninstall the 9.0 Pro version before I try to install the XI version?

You can't get it reset; if you could there would be no point in having it. If you have an encrypted backup there are two ways this could have happened:
You checked "Encrypt Backup" in iTunes at some time in the past, either intentionally or by accident
You have a corporate MS Exchange account and your Exchange administrator installed a security profile on your phone that requires the phone'a contents to be encrypted. This, in turn, requires the backup to be encrypted for obvious reasons.
In either case you were prompted for a password the first time you backed up after whichever of these happened. So think about what you might have entered for a password at that time. Fortunately you get an unlimited number of tries. Other threads on this subject have shown that it is always a password known to the user, so it wasn't something made up by iTunes. Also, everyone who has figured it out has found it to be a different password type, so try your Apple ID password, your computer's login password, your WiFi password, your corporate domain password, etc. And try passwords that may have been changed since your first backup. There are also some scam password crackers available that don't actually work and possibly steal your information. It's likely that a developer of one or more of these will post a response with a link (possibly hidden) to their "product". I got a year subscription to CC and then i went to download some of the programs and now it asks for a serial number, i didn't get any serial numbers from adobe and i thought they would just work when i signed in with my adobe id? am i supposed to have a list of serial numbers somewhere?
The Email that is associated with Forum does not have any CC attached with it, please let us know if you have any other Email under which it has been registered.
CC mostly asks for serial number if:
1. There is no CC registered to the ID with which you had signed.
2. There are entries of Adobe in Host files of the computer.
3. The activation count has increased.

I have Creative Cloud and just downloaded Ae... but it is version CS6... not CC2014.1 . Any idea why the download is for an older version?
If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop

* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data if you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.

You do. Your system is either Windows or Mac (or maybe a couple of other less popular choices) and a version of one or the other.
When you set up your machine, you were asked for an administrator user name and password. You need both of these to install software. -

All content from iTunes is tied to the account that downloaded it, so the id that shows when trying to download updates should be the account that 'owns' that app. Do you recognise the id that is showing e.g. has anybody else downloaded or synced content to your iPad ?

You could ask a friend that has a SIM-Card or stop by an Apple Store. They may be able to help you. The card is only required for a few seconds, until the device is activated. Then you can take it out and give it back.

Adobe Premiere keeps asking me for a file I don't have.
Every time I launched Adobe P. it ask me for a file (PNG) that I do not own. It is annoying and I am not sure what to do. Even trimming the project didn't help.
I tried creating a fake file with the same name, than selecting it, and then deleting it within Adobe P. Same thing happened.
Yes, I am able to work despite this issue, it is just an annoying issue that I would like fixed.

Premiere clearly thinks that PNG was imported into the project at some point.
If you can't find it in the Project folder, then try simply select "Offline" in the Link Media dialog. That should stop PPro from asking about it. -

If you're trying to add a large amount of data all at once, and you get an alert of insufficient space, then from the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences... ▹ Time Machine
If the padlock icon is closed, click it to unlock the settings and authenticate. Turn Time Machine OFF, then back ON and close the preference pane. Restart the computer. Test. -

If you have a registered Adobe ID, then you need to sign up at Adobe.com with the same credentials.
Go into your account and get your serial number to download Acrobat on your system.

I installed the latest version of ibooks on my ipad. I have about 50 different collections of scanned pdf's. I can only view up to the letter M. Any idea where the rest went? These are client files. Help!!!
I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6. -
How can you get the apple tv to work in a hotel where to get on the wifi you have to still go to a website first and put in your room?
