Flagged photos    Album

How do I make an album out of my flagged photos?

I know its possible to create a JOURNAL out of the flagged photos but there is also no way to create an album out of it.
Also notice that you cannot zoom-in JORNALS? Is there an option I have to activate for it?

  • Flagged photos in iPhoto not showing up in iMovie

I recently updated both imovie and iphoto.  I have several flagged photos in iphoto.  I am working in imovie to create a movie.  When I cleck the camera on the lower right to import photos into imovie, I see all my photos.  However, I don't see an option to choose the flagged photos.  This has always been there.  Incredibly annoying.  I usually flag the pics I want to use in a movie.
I have tried closing and restarting both programs.  Restarting computer.  Removing all flags and reflagging some.
Still, I don't see that option to chose the flagged photos in imovie.  I see all others like Events, Faces, Places, etc.
    Thanks for any help.

    Anyone have any ideas????
Again... I don't see the flagged photo smart album in imovie.... see screen shot below.
Where the flagged photo album should be (after Last Import)... it is not there!!
Very frustrating.  Spent about 5 hours on and off with Apple support and they can't figure it out either.

  • Can I moved flagged photos into an album on the iPad?

    Hi there,
While on holiday I used my iPad to backup photos from my camera and I used the flag system in iPhoto for iPad to mark which ones I wanted to share. The problem is I can't see a way of moving the flagged photos into an album so I wanted to find out if it is actually possible to do this on the iPad.
    Additional info:
The photos were uploaded onto the iPad using the native Photos app and have been flagged in iPhoto
The photos are also on my iCloud account
Neither the flags nor editing applied to the photos have synced after iCloud has been updated on my Macbook
Due to the above I am unable to create a Smart Album based on flagged photos on my Macbook
In iPhoto for iPad I cannot see the filename so I am unable to discern which images to flag on my Macbook to utilise Smart Albums (I have a lot of very similar photos)
Any help would be much appreciated as this is incredibly frustrating.

There is not yet a simple solution to do what you want.  The new Photos.app in iOS 8 will bring a much better integration between iPad and Mac.
I just don't understand the point of being able to flag, favourite or tag item on the iPad  if you can't organise them into folders or easily share them between Apple's own apps.
iPhoto on the iPad is simply not yet as flexible as iPhoto on a Mac.    It is not meant for syncing libraries between Mac and iPad. You can share photos, but not albums. And the central sharing place with other apps on the iPad is the Camera Roll. To make photos valuable in other apps, share them to the Camera Roll.
In iPhoto you cannot create albums like in the Photos.app. Only smart albums based on tags. If you add a tag "Flower" to some photos, you will automatically create an album "Flower". But again, these tags will not be transferred to your Mac by the Photo Stream, you will not see them in iPhoto on your mac.
If you want to transfer the edited photos using the Photo Stream you have to add them to the Photo Stream after editing, and that requires to save them to the Camera Roll.
You could use a shared Photo Stream, but that will reduce the size of the photos.  Or select the flag photos and sync them to your Mac using iTunes Photo Sharing.  http://help.apple.com/iphoto/ipad/2.0/#blnkee26bc1f
Save photos to your computer using iTunes
Connect your iOS device to your computer.
Tap a photo, album, event, web journal, or slideshow and tap > iTunes.
Tap Selected, or change the photos you want to save (if you are saving a slideshow skip to step 4):
Select different photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap one or more photos, and tap Next.
Select a range of photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap Range, tap the first and last photos in the range, and tap Next.
Select all the photos in an album or event: Tap All.
In iTunes, click the button for your device and click Apps at the top of the window.
Below File Sharing, select iPhoto (in Apps).
Select the Shared Photos folder under iPhoto Documents.
Click Save To and select the location on your computer where you want to save the items.
To view your photos, go to the Finder and look in the location you selected above.
I am using the iPad mainly to browse and show photos in slideshows, but not, to organise and tag them. That I will do on my Mac.

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • -7 Flagged Photos

From the Flagged Photos under RECENTS I cleared the flagged photos. Now it tells me that I have -7 flagged photos (7 hidden photos) which don't display when I choose VIEW -> HIDDEN PHOTOS. Further clearing of flagged photos produces the same results.  Anybody have any idea what's going on? How can I find these hidden photos so I can unflag them? Wouldn't it be nice to have a category under either RECENTS or LIBRARY named "Hidden" so you can see all hidden photos?

You can make a smart album in a couple of seconds:
File -> New -> Smart Album
    Photo -> Is -> Hidden

  • Sync just flagged photos to iphone?

When I click on the photo tabs in itunes to sync photos to my phone I see events, places, people, etc, but how I can just sync photos I flagged to my phone?
I don't understand why they don't just have a box there you can check. It has boxes for almost every other group of photos, expect flagged photos.
    Am I missing something?

Just create an album called iphone and put whatever you like in it. Select that album to sync with iphone.
Anything you add or delete from that album will be added or deleted from iphone when you sync.

  • Flagged photos not clearing

This is a weird one that has never happened to me before.
I fagged some photos but when I hit the "clear flagged" button, nothing happens.
I have flagged another set of photos and when I hit "clear flagged" again, the newly flagged photos dissappear but the ones that did not clear originally are still there... as I said weird.
Anyone had this happen or know how to fix?
    Thanks

  • Flagged photos disappear from events

It seems sometimes when I flag photos within an event and post those flagged photos to facebook, via iphoto, the flagged photos *sometimes* get removed from the event and posted under "flagged photos" folder. Upon trying to copy them back into the event, I have no luck. Must I create an album of the event first, and copy from flagged to that? If this is the case, this is going to be VERY annoying. I had been wondering why I couldn't find the "good" pictures in some of my events, wondering where they all went. Having to make albums of all events is going to be time consuming.

The same just happened to me. This is how I solved it:
    1. I went to the "Flagged" list to the left.
    2. I selected the pictures that were not showing up in the original event.
    3. Events --> Create event
    4. Accept.
It created a new event with the flagged photos that were not showing up, and it placed the new event next to the original event with a name based on the date.
    5. Dragged the whole "new" event to the original event.
Now it's back to normal... I hope it works...

  • Can I select all flagged photos and move to a flash drive

Can I select all flagged photos and move to Flash Drive as a group rather than drag and drop one pic at a time?

    Hi David,
One way you can do it is to create a Smart Album, and make the conditions = Photo Is Flagged. That will put all of your flagged photos into a single album. Then you can export that Album to the Flash Drive via File>Export. Once you set up the Export the way you want it, and then click on "Export" it will bring up your Finder Window, allowing you to select the Flash Drive to export to.
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,

  • Iphoto deletes events when adding events from flagged photos

    Dear community,
Whenever I use flagged photos, previous events get deleted. I don't know whether this is because the photos can only be in one event at a time, or that this is erroneous behaviour.
In my logic, there should be possibility for as much events as you deem possible, yet it is mind boggling, that you don't have an automatic option, that makes you put photos in two events. Also it is mind numbing that you can't just copy & paste the pictures anywhere you like. You can paste in albums, but not into events.
You have an option to "Create event from flagged photos", yet not an option to add photos to an existing event, you must flag them first.
Then there is the sudden discomfort of brain pain, when you find out the previous events you've created stopped seizing to exist, and you have to sift through 500 photos, just to find 3 photos you've flagged in the creation of a previous event. Which defeats the purpose of creating them.
The albums work good for this purpose, yet I want to be able to pin albums to the back board, where the events are. Or have events that will not disappear, may contain doubles with other events, or/and aren't restricted to copying into them. It would save a lot of time, to just CMD + C, CMD + V.

    You're confusing Events and Albums.
In my logic, there should be possibility for as much events as you deem possible, yet it is mind boggling, that you don't have an automatic option, that makes you put photos in two events
A photo in two Events is using twice the disk space. An album just references the photo in the Library and can be in as many albums as you like while wasting no disk space.
You have an option to "Create event from flagged photos", yet not an option to add photos to an existing event, you must flag them first.
Eh, you have to flag photos first before you can create an Event from them too...
Then there is the sudden discomfort of brain pain, when you find out the previous events you've created stopped seizing to exist, and you have to sift through 500 photos, just to find 3 photos you've flagged in the creation of a previous event. Which defeats the purpose of creating them.
Flagging photos does not delete Events. Emptying an Event deletes them.
You can't have what you want.

  • What happened to flagged photos in Photos

I no longer see the photos I flagged in iPhoto. Fortunately I created an album iPhoto of flagged photos. I appears that flagged is now a heart (favorite) but the old flagged photo are no longer tagged.

But how do you favorite a photo?
Apparently the only way is to "open" (enlarge) a photo. ONLY THEN does that heart icon become available at the top right corner of the Photos window.
And where are the Favorites (the Favorites album or "place" to see your favorites)?
Once you "favorite" the first photo, an album called "Favorites" with a heart symbol appears in the "Albums" list in the Sidebar, fairly close to the top.

  • How do i delete photo albums from iPhone 5

how do i delete photo albums from iPhone 5

Are you asking about albums created in the "Photos.app" ?
In the Photos app, click edit, then click the red minus icon that appears.
For albums you created on your computer and synced to your device using iTunes:
These albums can only be deleted by syncing again with your computer and deselecting the album when syncing.
All other albums in iPhoto are created automatic as need be (Edited, Flagged, Favorites, Custom (tags), iTunes, Beamed, Photo Box); these albums will be deleted, when the photos inside are no longer present - the edits and tags removed.

  • Creating events by flagging photos

Apart from individually flagging photos to create a event, is there a less time consuming way to organise photos in iphoto?

There are very many ways to organise photos in iPhoto: Events, Albums, Smart Albums, Keywords, Date, Rating... perhaps you might like to take some of the tutorials.

  • How can I remove my iCloud Photo Albums from my iPhone 6 storage, but still use the iCloud Photo Sharing?

I put all my photos from my iPod Touch 4 and my iPhone 4S in iCloud Photo Albums and Labeled them so that when I got the new iPhone 6 on iOS 8.1.2 I could have my previous photos on there for future use. Now I look on my iTunes app on my computer it shows that my storage on my iPhone 6 is almost full. Those Photos in iCloud are taking up all my storage on my iPhone. I know how to add more storage on my iCloud account, I just want to know Is there a way where my iCloud Photo Albums can still be in my iCloud Account, just not taking up all my storage on my iPhone.

    Hello mushysun,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you did not sign out of your Apple ID on your iPhone before creating a new one, then you will need to sign back in with your previous Apple ID and then sign out.  If you do not remember your password and do not have access to the email account, then you can reset your password by using the security questions.
