Flash 8 or Flash 2004 - Quiz Random

Hi all, I did my homework and tried to find similar questions
in this forum, but could not find any answer to my problem....
After having worked for weeks to develop a quiz on the
template with 430 drag and drop questions (and 8 hot objects
questions), I realize that choosing Quiz Options "RANDOMIZE" and
"Questions to ask: 5" ruins the Quiz,
I experience that some of the first questions may be right,
but in the following some drag-instances are in wrong positions,
probably instances from former questions covering the
drag-and-drop-instances belonging to the new question.
The quiz workes properly when not using this options. The
problem is that its give no meaning to use many questions, but to
provide them in fixed order :-(.
Other options choosen: Version: Flash Player 8. Action Script
2.0. Compress Movie. HTML: Flash with Scorm 1.2 Tracking [though I
do not need to incorporate the quiz in a LMS, but using Flash Only
did not fix the problem)], Show Result Page.
Does any one in here have some experience on fixing this
problem?

Already uninstalled everything, flash, players 8 and 9, even
a trial of flex.
Still the same problem.
I have 3 scenes:
- scene 1 - preloader based on a simple mask moving over text
(on percentage = 100% jumps to the next scene);
- scene 2 - a logo and a simple animation with some blur
filters;
- scene 3 - the homepage.
The very problem is when I test the movie and click 2 times
"Ctrl+Enter" to simulate download. When I do this, the movie stops
at the beggining of scene 2 showing just the logo and nothing else
for a long time (really long time) till it starts play again to the
next and final scene.
Anybody familiar with this problem?

FLASH 2004 & FLASH PLAYER 8

Hi,
I am still using Flash 2004, and I just wondered what effect
it would have if I upgraded to the new Flash Player 8? Would it
cause any problems in running my .swf movies, or would it improve
the playback quality?

Shouldn't be a problem. I always have the latest Flash
Player
installed. I had 9 installed while using Flash 8.

It depends on how those SWFs were made. Flash Player 8
dropped support
for the "add" string concatenator, so if you have SWFs that
make use of that
very, very old ActionScript feature, those won't work. I
believe everything
else is supported (the "add" operator was deprecated as of
Flash 5 in favor
of the "+" operator). Flash Player 7 brought case sensitivity
to the
table -- i.e., the variable myVar is different from myvar --
so if your SWFs
were already written with that in mind, you should be fine.
SWFs made
without ActionScript shouldn't have any problems at all, and
may in fact run
more smoothly.

Flash CS4 Quiz Template: Help Needed

My organization uses the Flash CS4 quiz template that is included within the eLearning suite. Everything works great. The quiz loads on the LMS, it gives learners' their scores, etc. The issue we're having is after the score is recorded within the LMS.
If a user fails the quiz, the LMS marks the quiz as 'Completed/Failed'. The LMS (Inquisic EX), then, moves the failed quiz into the 'Completed Courses' tab. I understand why it does this because the 'Completed' mark given refers to the learner having gone through all of the pages within the quiz; however, the learner failed the quiz. If the learner goes back into the quiz and passes it the second time around, the LMS continues to state 'Completed/Failed'.
Does anyone know why this would happen? Are there SCORM settings we ought to change within the source code provided by Adobe?

Flash goes off randomly

My iphone flash goes off randomly. Not the flash alert for texts and calls. Just randomly. It will stay on. I have to hit phone to make it go off. I read online it's probably a short in the phone. What should I do? Will apple fix it?

Sizing Photo's in Photoshop to use in Macromedia MX Flash 2004

Am trying to create a gallery for webpage using Macromedia Flash MX 2004, have imported photo's into library and got the Flash gallery to publish. But am concerned as the flash .swf file is only 273kb with 20 images in it, the existing gallery file I am wanting to replace is approximaately 2.5mb.
I was advised to downsize each photo to 300x200 pixels which seems to fit the display in the flash file. Thought maybe I am doing something wrong in Photoshop when I am resizing each photo from original 2,3 or 4 mb photo down to the 300x200 pixel size results in a 50kb size photo. Any clues out there....?

I really know nothing about Macromedia Flash, but since no one has given any responses my thought is that if doing an action you need small pictures so they will load quickly.
If you resize save as new image so the quality images are not destroyed. If you have a lot of pictures to resize check out Bridge/tools/photoshop/image processor.

Songs that are imported manually from cds or flash drives are randomly deleting from my iphone 5. Sometimes I get an error -54 message first. Sometimes not. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

I have an iPhone 5 16g ios 8.2 and it keeps randomly deleting the songs I manually put on from cds or flash drives. The songs I purchased from iTunes don't delete just the ones I manually add. It has happened three times, once after I added 399 songs, once after I added 27 songs and once when I added 45 songs. Sometimes an error (-54) pops up but not always, it's just in an instant all the songs I put on are suddenly gone. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes three times, reset all the settings on my phone and also restored my phone to factory settings. Nothing has worked. I have a 4th generation iPod and I have never had this problem. Any and all suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to Apple Discussions..
My first suggestion is to Repair Disk. Here's how:
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior
Please post back and let me know how that goes.

Flash 2004 MX will not import .FLA's into the library

I can't imagine why this is- but if someone has some
eperience here- I would be so ever grateful.
I can't get Flash MX 2004 to inport FLA files into the shared
library. When I select inport/into shared library I get an error
message that says flash does not recognize the .fla file type and
wants to know if I should let quick time see if it can recognize
the file. "Use quicktime instead".
Here is what I have tried:
Reset the file types in File/Folder under control panel to
default- Flash- But all file types were already recognzed- -reset
was just a deperation hope and prayer.
Un-installed quicktime then tried to import- no
un-installed flash- reinstalled flash- tried to import- no
Installed newest version of Quicktime and then tried to
import- no
Reverted to a prior system restore point- then
Re-installed Flash - tried to import-no
looked in the registry but could not navigate to anything
that resembled file extensions-
Flash saves FLA's and makes SWF's just as it should- opens
FLA's and sees FLA file types in the saved folder.
When I initialize the import/to library functon FLA file
types are not listed unless I select "all file types" in the file
types drop down- it does recognize SWFs
Flash did recognize FLA's until I played a Quicktime
Instruction CD. With no further action on my part, it quit
importing correctly-
No viruses are found
?? ideas

Thanks Shane- but when I need to share a library file- I
select file/ import to library and that is where I get the error- I
was able to share Flash librarys befor I played the quicktime file-
and now- unfortunately FLAs are an unrecognized format. And I am no
longer getting the additional mesage "do you want Quicktime to try
and open them. Just a message that says "one or more files were not
imported because there were errors reading them"
But they open in flash.... which is what I don't understand-
something has happend that flash no-longer sees the fla file type
under the File/ Import to Library.

How do I add a pre-existing flash, interactive quiz to presenter 9.0

currently, we are reviewing Presenter 9.0 as it appears to be the only option to move existing flash CBTS into SCORM for loading into our LMS. The content is not the issue. The "quizzes", for each lesson, are pre-created flash interactive videos(files, whatever...).
I want to incorporate the quiz into the existing Presenter 9.0 imported SWF content before I package everything in Scorm 1.2 I am hoping that I do not have to hop into yet 1,2,3 or more other applications to solve what would be a very easy problem, albeit flash being involved.
Steps....
1) Start Powerpoint.. Import SWF content (existing, interactive) using Presenter plugins..
2) add a SWF quiz that relates to Step 1 content
3) pre-set for SCORM 1.2
4) Package SCORM Content..
Exist Presenter use...

My biggest concern here would be the effectiveness of the Flash Quiz content you are embedding in the presentation. Presenter has its own reporting that will take precedence over an embedded SWF file. For example, if you created a Captivate project with reporting, and then embedded it into a Presenter presentation, the only report you would see would be that the viewer(s) viewed the slide with the Captivate SWF in it. None of the Captivate reporting would be recorded.
For this reason, I suspect that Presenter won't report your quiz content as expected, but hey, you can get a 30-day free trial of Presenter 9, so it is easy to test and validate. Presenter could prove me wrong (it has happened before)!

Flash 10.1 Randomly going corrupt

Hi,
I am a technician with a school district. This summer most of the computers in our schools were re-imaged with our latest images, which includes flash 10.1.53 Active X. We are now getting tons of calls from schools reporting that Flash Player is not installed. The funny thing is, its just happening on random computers (ie: in a lab of 30 computers, only 5 are affected).
When we try to uninstall/re-install Flash with the MSI package, the installer completes but Flash still does not function. The only way we have found to fix this is to log into each computer and re-install Flash by going to adobe.com and installing via the web site.
1) Is this a known issue with 10.1.53?
2) Is there an easier way to fix each computer? We use SCCM to push software packages and images, but like I said, the MSI installer does not remedy the issue on the computer.
3) Are there some things that I could specifically look for on these computers (ie: some sort of log file) that may explain whats happening?
Other info that may be helpful, we are running Windows XP, IE8 and NOD32. This issue seems to be affecting multiple different images we use. Our users do not have administrative rights.

Sorry, I mistyped in my original post. The image with 10.1.53 isn't our latest image, its just the one thats currently deployed. 10.1.53 was current when we imaged.
I'm pretty sure (about 95%) we tried using MSI installers for newer versions (10.1.85 and 10.1.102) as well to try and correct the issue, but I will try that again to be sure. I currently have a couple other work arounds I can do for now. I can push firefox and flash plugin to the computers. I have also built a new installation of Flash using AppV which seems to work good. I have rebuilt our images with 10.1.102, hoping that will resolve the issue on anything imaged going forward....but mass imaging is tricky mid school year.
It would be nice to figure out the underlying issue, but if I don't I guess I can use my workarounds for now.

Flash Builder Burrito, Random Crash in Debug Build

Hello:
I have been working with Flash Builder Burrito for about a week. When I publish it to the Xoom device in debug mode, it will crash at random. When I publish it as a normal build, it works great.
I'm not sure if it's actually a crash or it loses the Wi-Fi connection to the device and just quits out?
I get no errors to the Debug window when it just random quits the app.
I would suggest it's a coding error but it is just sitting at a simple MXML screen and not doing anything in the background. Plus it works when I do a normal build with out the Debug console.
My guess is there is a packet loss or something and it quits out?

This is a bug in AIR on the Xoom device. As you pointed out it only happens when debugging. We're aware of the issue and working on a fix, you can track the progress on this bug: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-30457

Flash videos freeze randomly?

Basically when I watch a Youtube video, it will often freeze and those spinning circles will appear, despite it being loaded to a point beyond that. It does this every 5 minutes are so and for this reason Youtube is basically unusable.
I have the latest version of Flash player, made the allowed storage for Youtube unlimited in Flash settings, cleared my cache, downgraded Flash, toggled hardware acceleration, cleaned my registry, tried using the non-built in version of Flash in Chrome,used Revo to uninstall Flash, restarted my PC numerous times in between trying different steps. Nothing seems to work. No matter what I seem to do I still get these spinning circles appearing. I can get the video to work again by right-clicking on the video and going to 'Stop Download' and then clicking play again, but then it only lasts another short period of time before the circles appear again.
It's not my internet speed, it's not my computer processing speed or anything like that. I also don't have any firewalls installed, I've even tried turning off my routers firewall to no avail.
This problem happens with any Flash video, it will always randomly stop downloading, and won't play again until I refresh the video or in some cases click ahead in the video.
Download speed: Approx 5.5meg
Flash version is 11,1,102,55
Browser: Google Chrome 16.0.912.63, but same issue applies to all browsers. (So far tried IE9 and Firefox too)
Windows 7 64bit
Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz Quad-core processor
AMD Radeon 6870 Graphics card
8GB RAM
1TB Hard drive
If anyone has any other suggestions that would be great, as this is really driving me crazy.

I've got the same issue on all browsers though, and the problem still occurs in Chrome even when I don't use the built in Flash.

Flash player crashes, Random restarts

Hello,
Since I built my computer I have been having problems with the flash player randomly crashing. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. My comp is also randomly restarting. These issues seem to be related. I am Currently using the latest version of flash on Win 7. This problem has been going on for almost a year now and its really starting to annoy me. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Updating Flash 2004 PRO

A friend of mine is having an issue with updating her Flash
MX Pro 2004 software from version 7.0 to version 7.2 After
downloading the update to her iMac OS X, it says to disable any
installed Flash extensions by using the Extension Manager. I don't
have extension manager installed for MX 2004 PRO on my computer.
She found the extension manager on hers - clicked on it and
it opened up and the only option to choose from was 'install'.
Everything else is greyed out. And there is nothing in the list
below to disable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, why don't you try loading WAV files, as you suggested
to your self. It would help answer your own question and help
others to help you. Until you try all options, I'm not sure what
kind of answer you expect from others.
There could be something in the bit rate of that MP3 file
that makes it incompatible with Flash. Try some other MP3s as well.
Or convert the MP3 in question to a WAV and import it.

Hi,
You can open your existing fla's in the latest Flash CC release and convert them into a Canvas fla's and publish. If you have timeline frame scripts(AS2/AS3) then it will be commented and available for reference.
