LR is cross-platform, so there is nothing required usually. If you have genuine issues with your serial, you need to contact support.

Is there an alternative for Adobe Flash for Mac & Firefox
Running Mac OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard with Firefox 13.0. Was notified that I needed to install Adobe Flash/Shockwave to see video content.
Have loaded and updated to the newest version as of last week but Firefox has become buggy, freezing up but my pointer will still move. I continually get requests from Flashplayer to store data on my machine. Continually get error messages that I have to click DISMISS and the it works normally.
Just a regular PIA. I have uninstalled Flashplayer and the problems disappear but I cannot access a lot of content, especially videos.
IS there any alternative for Mac?
thanks,
RobNote that Flash may not be working properly if you disable local storage.

I tried to install the latest version of flash player on my Mac and have gone through the troubleshooting guide already. I uninstalled the old flash player, and i closed everything out, but I still get the error message "Adobe Flash Player cannot be installed. Devices with PowerPC processors are no longer supported. Click below to download the last version of Flash Player for PowerPC." I'm especially confused since the website said it could tell I was using a Mac OS X...
The website uses a javascript to determine the OS and browser in use by every visitor.
As to the issue of not being able to install:
In October of 2004, Apple ended a long relationship with Motorola who had made PowerPC processors and IBM who made the G3 G4 and G5 cores for them. The PPC processors ran too hot in confined spaces and too slow for what Mac had planned. They looked to AMD and Intel to find a new processor developer. AMD while plenty fast and plenty stable is just as hot as the PPC processors were, so Intel became the new processor maker for Macs.
In 2008 Mac decided that they would sunset support for PowerPC machines in twelve months. By August of 2009 all support for the machines and the OS's (10.5.8 I think was the last supported) had ended. EVERYTHING Mac makes now is Intel, be it hardware or software.
It reads like you have a PPC machine which is unfortunately not able to use Flash Player 10, which is built to run on an Intel architecture. You will need to download 9 from a place like oldversion.com.
A word though. You will find increasing difficulty running apps and viewing content geared for the latest versions of Flash Player. I'd guess by the time it gets to 10.5, player 9 won;t be able to access Flash content.
The PPC machines were good and they lasted way longer than their PC counterparts, but their time has passed. Intel Macs are the future and PPC is soon to be a memory of what once was. -
Flash for Mac: How Long Before Universal Binary?
I have an iMac G4 1 GHz PPC and am contemplating purchasing
Flash 8 (or some software containing Flash) for my son. I recently
found a good educational source with a decent price. To my
understanding the current version of Flash is PPC only, but it may
be able to run under Rosetta on the new Intel Macs. I have heard
that Adobe will not release a universal binary update to Flash 8
and that Flash will likely not run natively on Intel Macs until the
next major release of Flash (I guess that will be 9). I plan to
keep my G4 for quite a while but I can see some handwriting on the
wall that indicates we'll probably get another Mac (Intel) within
the year.
A few questions. Has anyone run Flash under Rosetta on an
Intel Mac? How does it run? Do you think I should just go ahead and
buy Flash 8 now and start getting some good use out of it (the edu
discount makes it a pretty good deal anyway)? When is the next
version of Flash expected in an ordinary development cycle?
Thanks very much.Well, from a switchers point of view, I have never run Adobe
products under PPC as I was always a Unix and Windows user,
however, as of recently I have switched all my systems to Intel
based Macs, and I have to say, that although I can not run my
business without Flash 8, its performance under Rosetta is dismal
at best.
On an average day of 4-5 hours of developement, Flash 8 will
crash for no reason every 15 to 20 minutes. I have to save my
changes every few minutes or I am bound to lose my work. The speed
is reduced more than 50%, so unless you can deal with the feeling
that you are developing underwater with the speed issues and the
constant crashes, I would highly suggest waiting for Flash Pro 9.
An as a final note, this going to Adobe, who refuses to even
give a tentative release date, I am appauld at your lack of concern
for your customers. Every other major company has already released
updates to their products as Universal Binaries, yet you talk like
your products are so more advanced then any other products on the
planet, that it requires you to do strick beta testing to ensure it
runs properly. My answer to that is this... ANYTHING that is native
to Intel Mac has got to run better than your products under
Rosetta. Crashing every 15-20 minutes and running like a snail is
NOT an alternative to possibly bugs that may have occured by
releasing a universal upgrade for Flash 8. So that is simply an
excuse on your part for not supporting your customers. -
I just did a software update and it said it was deleteing my out of date flash player,
before I could download from the pop up window it closed. Where do I get flash
for my version 10.5.8?

What should I use? - Developing from AI to Flash for Mac, iPad & Windows
Not sure if I am in the right forum so if not please let me know.
I want to develop an app to use on our Mac, Windows, and iPad systems. It would run locally and not over the internet. In short I would take template art from Illustrator files and convert to a usable flash files. The app would allow the user to change the named fields on the templates to their company name for visualizing the art. I have been doing some testing and this appears to be possible.
I am obviously new to this and trying to understand what/how to develop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. Thanks for the help and you are correct I have not gotten into the iPad enough for any testing.
I have read that Flash is not supported and also read that it is supported on the iPad. Confused as to what this page is telling me regarding a "Packager for iPhone IOS" - http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/packagerforiphone/ and this page http://www.adobe.com/devnet/logged_in/abansod_iphone.html
Is this stuff just wishful thinking or only on iPhone or something else? Again thanks for the help. -
Cannot find Flash for Mac OS X 10.5.4
I'm really not used to macs, so maybe this is just a communication issue. I'm using a Mac OS X 10.5.4
I'm using Safari (3.1.2) browser as well.
I have tried to install the newest flash, but it doesn't work with this computer, because it's a PPC.
I've read that people have been able to get it to work with later versions of Flash, but on the adobe site, there are no links to the actual downloads (FlashPlayer 9-10, for example).
I've tried to do it from the macromedia site, and I was able to download the installer.
Now when I open the downloaded content, I've got a box with 2 icons that say internet plugins, 1 icon that says flashplayer.xtp, and one that says flash player.plugin
When I try to open them, it says to choose an application to open it with...
None of them will open the program..
Please help!This should help:
What version of Flash Player should I use with my Power PC based Mac?

I am trying to download Adobe Flash for Mac OSX 10.3.9-help!!!
I get it downloaded to desktop but that is as far as I can get. I can't get it to open/run. I'm a pretty basic computer user. I wanted to download pictures to enter a contest and I need this to do so. I know the computer is older but it works great, usually. I'm sure it is the operator that is the issue. Can anyone help me in simple, layman's words?
Hi, I will try to help you the best I can. We don't seem to have many Mac helpers on the forum. First, I need to ask is did you use the Uninstaller for Flash Player first to remove the old Flash Player files?
I know where that info is and I know where the info is for the Installer. Are you trying to Install the Flash Player vs 10.1.53.64?
Let me know that and are you sure that you downloaded and SAVED to your Desktop the Flash Player for your edition of Mac?
Thanks,

Can i download adobe flash for mac
Hi uhm can I download adobe flash pro for mac
Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it's already running the newest OS it can.
If it's an Intel Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.

Flash for Mac Broken since update
This is the case running both Safari and Firefox on a Mac Pro, OSX 10.6.3:
Since the update previous to Flash 10, and now with Flash 10 as well, I get blank windows with Flash content on Adobe's own pages (What's new in Light Room 3) and on the NAPP Light Room 3 Learning Center page, among others.
Additionally, I've changed my Flash settings in the Flash Control Panel to ASK before allowing 3rd party flash content to play. This worked for awhile but now when I find a window asking permission to run the vid and hit Okay, all I get is an endless pinwheel.
I've tried to open the Flash Control Panel to mess with the settings, but now that window will not register mouse clicks and there is nothing I can do with it.
fpI suggest you post your question on the MIcrosoft Mac forums since it's their software you're having trouble with...

Flash for Mac "Quicktime Video" format question
I used Mac to create a video in Flash 8.0. When I export the
clip, i used "Quicktime Video" format (not the "Quicktime" option).
But when I play the file in Windows, I couldn't get it to open or
convert to other formats such as .AVI. Is there a codec for
"Quicktime Video" to work under windows XP? Please help.
Thanks.Hi s2foster2, well I am certainly willing to try to help you, just don't know if I can be much help because I am not very
familiar with Mac. I was able to help a couple of people but that was due to them being able to send me screenshots.
I understand Flash Player but where programs, add ons, ActiveX Controls, even where the Flash files are located I don't know. I do know Mac has a Library:-)
Some new information has come to light tonight however, by one of our most helpful people on the forum. This was about
the 3rd party content, etc.
I looked at your FF add ons and you have the SWF and it's correct. Do you know where the Flash files are and could you
post back all of the Flash files with version numbers? That will tell me if Flash Player is installed with the correct files.
We can have a go at this if you want. I can tell you what info I need as long as you know where to find it, because I don't.
Let me know,
thanks,

Can't install flash for mac os 10.9
Trying to watch videos from Youtube on my new mac running 10.9. Prompted to install Flash player. I follow the recommended download instructions and it constantly gets stuck at 50% and then says I need to close Safari. Closing a Safari does nothing and the application still does not install. Help required
if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here: Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Direct Download Links, Premiere too | ProDesignTools
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version. -
Adobe releases Flash for Mac beta with GPU acceleration
Sounds like this might be worth a try on the new MacBooks.
Let us know if it helps and off loads the work from the CPU to the GPU with Flash.Hi,
the german computer magazine c't did some preliminary tests with that plugin on a Mac Mini 3.1 (Core 2 Duo 2 GHz, 3 GByte RAM, Mac OS X 10.6.3) and the 1080p Trailer The Last Air Bender http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USUHXzapRoU
Flash Player 10.1 RC 2 -> Activity Monitor showed 90-120 % CPU useage
Gala PlugIn -> 50-60% CPU useage
So quite a step in the right direction.
Although funny thing is, that with the HTML5 player from YouTube http://www.youtube.com/html5 used with Safari the CPU useage got down to 15% !!
All that as said, preliminary...
