Flash forms -- Not displaying in IE
This is my first foray into flash forms, and I discovered
yesterday that while they look/work beautifully in Firefox
(2.0.0.4), they're not displaying at all in IE (6 or 7).
I'm using it to force the user to input their date in a
uniform format, so I'm sure there's a non-flash workaround. I'd
like to get this sorted out though, so my future work with flash
can be more involved.
Code is attached. Please let me know if I can provide further
clarification.
Michael --
Thanks for your help.
I think I've narrowed the problem down -- it's not that it
won't display my flash form in IE, it's that it won't display it in
a Fusebox environment. I'm going to poke over at their site to see
what they have to say -- I suspect I'll need to upgrade the version
of Fusebox that I'm using. :)

I have just about given up on flash forms. I have read just
about every thread in this Forum, but cannot find the answer.
Have worked with flash forms in the past, but after recently
upgraded to a new box with Vista Business and Codl Fusion 8 Dev
Edition I cannot get flash forms working. I have have seen a tonne
of postings with the same issue, but few with a resolution, and
where there is I try it and makes no difference.
If I run the following code:
<cfform format="flash">
<cfinput type="dateField" name="startDate" label="Start
Date:" mask="dd/mm/yyyy">
</cfform>
If I remove format="flash" form works fine. If I include
format="flash" form doesn't display. View source shows the code
there, CFIDE is mapping correctly etc.
One thing I do notice though, which may or may not be
involved is that when viewing the code generated, it is looking in
the same folder that the script that includes the form was in. Do I
need to tell it to look somewhere else? Pure speculation here, but
EVERYTHING else checks out.
If someone at Adobe can set this straight would be great,
because an afternoon spent reading other postings on this matter
shows there are clearly a lot of people stumbling around in the
dark on this one.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.Michael --

Flash Text not displaying certain fonts
Thanks as always…
I am trying to use Flash text for some headings, but after an
hour of pulling my hair out I've just realised it will only display
certain fonts, such as Helvetica etc.
I added the font I want to use to my font list but it still
does not display…
I'm using MX on OSX 10.3.9.
Any ideas? Thansk.

Is your text in a dynamic text box, or static text box in
flash?
I don't think the issue concerns the "true-type" or not
"true-type" font.
In Flash, when text is part of a dynamic text box (which I
assume is the case in your situation),
then the font works just like in an html page:
if the font is installed on the computer it will show, if
not, it won't. The way around this, is to
embed the font data in the authoring flash file, and link it
to the dynamic text box, via actionScript.
So if you cannot work on the authoring Flash file with Flash
MX or Flash8, and if indeed we're
talking about a dynamic text box, your only option is to use
a web-safe font.

Flash files not displaying in Firefox, Safari, and Opera. Most recent Shockwave installed, private browsing active in Firefox? Works perfectly in Chrome and Internet Explorer. HELP!!!!
I suppose it would have helped if you knew what it was supposed to look like! I'm using Shockwave Flash 11.7.700.169 and the version of Firefox I'm on is 20.0
When you see it in Firefox - do the thumbnail populate the grid? See attached populated and un-populated.
Populated grid is with Chrome.

Flash will not display on cfm page
For some reason my coldfusion server will not display any
Flash (including Flash Forms) If I change the page to html it
displays fine, also there are no issues with my dev machine, both
machines are running cf8. Any ideas?
Thanks in advanced
Cavanthis is the typical answer that everybody asks check he CFIDE
folder, but guess what, the folder is accessable and all the script
files can be loaded by the browser but still ... no cfform flash
displayed.
need more support for this issue, i can use all the cfform
features accept when trying to enable the format=flash and this is
what isnt processing correctly,
the developement server works fine but production server
doesn't and the CFIDE directory has the right file permissions and
is assessable to the browser. -
Flash Forms Not Rendering in IE7, Flash 9
We're having a problem with flash forms in IE7 and Flash
Player 9 not rendering the entire form. The form works fine in
Firefox 2. It looks to be a problem with how the Flash player is
able to pull back data in IE7. Likely this pertains to how IE7
handles security of plug-ins.
Oddly, we've noticed that uninstalling the Flash 9 player and
then reinstalling results in the form rendering correctly the first
time, but on subsequent views the form no longer renders correctly.
Specifically, we're not seeing data that is being called via
Flash remoting in cfselect tags (state and country information).
And we're not seeing text rendered that is in cfformitem tags. Our
dev url is:
http://hopeequity.beaconfire.com/loggedout/index.cfm?event=StartInvesting_StartAGroupStep1
If anyone has an idea of why IE7 might not be able to render
the form correctly, or might have security-related issues with
remoting and Flash 9, please reply.I was granted access to the manuals on our prod server (the
site is set up where you have to log in to see the manuals). The
manuals are behaving differently on the prod server than in our dev
server. The following is happening on the prod server:
- the flash menus are appearing on our prod server in FireFox
only.
- I had reported in our dev area that when I right clicked on
the left hand side where the menus are to appear in IE that the
Flash menu displayed. This is not the case in our production area.
- I get the "This page contains both secure and nonsecure
items" when viewing the site on our prod server through IE
I've asked them what version of RoboHelp they are using and
no one seems to know. It seems they don't regenerate their help
files (manuals) very often. -
Hello, all.
The issues are just appearing out of the woodworks, now.
The project I am working on (
http://www.goldininstitute.org/staging_directory/)
now has yet another issue - in IE6, the flash form does not load at
all. It's supposed to be in the lower left corner - a login form,
just username and password with a submit button - and works great
in FF/NN/Op, but does not appear at all in IE6. Is this another
security issue for IE? Form code follows:

Custom 404 cfm pages, and ColdFusion flash forms not working together
Hi,
I've recently ran into an issue that I was hoping I could have a little help with. My company has been using custom 404 pages for awhile that we set up in iis however we had never set up this custom 404 page to display on .cfm pages, only missing folders. Ie; www.website.com/asdasdasdsd/ would display a custom 404 error But www.website.com/asdasdasdsd.cfm would not. I recently set this up by going in the iis properties for our site, went to the home directory tab click on configuration and selected edit from the mappings tab. From here I checked the verify that file exists open. This enabled the file.cfm custom error to appear however for some reason it disabled all of my ColdFusion flash forms. None of them appear now. If I undo the iis setting that I changed earlier they all re-appear. I got these settings from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/000/95ee04fb.html and they do the job, they just disable my flash forms. Is there any way to do this without them disabling my flash forms from working?
Thanks!
Paul AlkemaHi Paul,
Did you ever receive an answer to this (old) post? I'm having the same problem myself.

Button Text on Form not Displaying
The following was posted by PGMR1998 at 09:58am on Feb 22, 2008 (Pacific) but got no response:
I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 8, and I have added a button to reset the form fields. The button has some text on top, but the text on the button does not display until I click down on the button in the preview pane. How can I make the button text visible always? Thanks in advance for your support..
I'm having the same problem with the submit button on a form in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. No matter what I do, the button text does not display. Any ideas? What font are you using? What is the font color set to? What font size? Can you post a sample somewhere?
You specify the label text for a button using the Options tab of the Button Properties dialog. Describe each of the settings on this page. In particular, you can have a different label for the Up, Down, and Rollover states.

Rich text box used in Infopath Form not displaying option to get images from Computer
Hello,
We have used "Rich text box" in Infopath Form which is not displaying option to get images from Computer.
Options available are : From Address, From SharePoint
But if we Rich text box in list, then it works fine with "From Computer" option.
can you please help me out to get this option.
Thanks in advance.
REgards,
JayashriHi,
From your description, there is no “From Computer” option to get images with rich text box in InfoPath form.
Per my knowledge, by design there are “From Address” and “From SharePoint” options without “From Computer” option in rich text box in InfoPath form. As a workaround, you can develop a custom InfoPath Rich Text box to do it.
About developing a custom InfoPath control, I suggest you create a new thread on the forum “Visual Studio Tools for Office”, more experts will assist you with InfoPath development.

Flash movie not displayed correctly in IE 8 on some Windows OS
Has anyone seen this problem?
I'm using CS4 to export a basic flash movie with embed tags pre scripted...
And the issue is that on some OS systems using Vista or Windows 7 and IE 8 as a primary browser, it appears that IE 8 is not displaying the flash banner completely.... its CROPPING it off... This is very strange because the banner works fine in FireFox, IE7,Opera,Chrome but not I.E.8 on some OS systems...
If you google "Flash not displaying correctly in IE 8" you'll get alot of people with the same issues but no real definate fix...
Are there any suggestions as to what i could try?
Do i need different flash embed tags? Or is this a user issue?
Please Advise as soon as possible...
ThanksI'm sorry, i forgot to explain that I didn't upload the flash published html because it did and produced the exact same results.
The flash published still got cropped off on 1 vista os(I.E 8) running from a laptop and 1 windows 7(I.E. 8) latop os...
Its good to hear that you're able to see it clearly... however in my QA efforts, i've been asked to fix the issue or drop the flash banner all together.
I've tried every which way, i've even converted the embed tags (not uploaded by the way) to a js script and it STILL gets cropped of on 2 ie8 run OS systems...
And now i'm not sure what else to try on my end.
I'm currious if because this is an XML driven flash banner, this may be an issue? But it still doesn't explain why some people can see this in IE 8 as you can and others get a cropped banner like in my screen shot sample.
Again i invite everyone in the forum to take a look at the sample links, as i'd be curious to see who else is seeing this.
By the way "kglad" Thank you so much... please keep the suggestions coming... but everything you've suggested, i've tried.
This is very perplexing. Is this a setting issue? or is there some setting on the user side i'm not aware of? Either way, as usual... the flash developer is blamed so i must find a solution.

Link to screen shot sample on a Vista and Windows 7 running IE 8 browser

HTML Form Not Displaying Correctly in Outlook 2010 (Exchange 2013)
Hello,
I have recently migrated to Exchange 2013. Clients are still using Outlook 2010. There is an application that automatically sends an HTML form by email for the users to fill in. The form consists of radio buttons, text areas and drop down list. However,
in Outlook 2010, the form is not rendered properly.
When I clicked the "If there are problems with how this message is displayed, click here to view it in a web browser" link, the email is opened in
IE and the form is displayed correctly.
I also tried opening the same email in other clients, such as Thunderbird, Apple Mail Client and in mobile phones - the form is displayed correctly. I wonder
why it fails to do so in Outlook 2010. The user mentioned that this does not happen in Outlook 2003 and prior to migration (I used Exchange 2010 previously). I have also tried using OWA, but the form does not display correctly
Any help?
Note: I can't attach any images or links as it is mentioned that my account is not verified yet. I will post some screenshots when it is possible to do soHi
Outlook 2007 or newer use Microsoft Word for their HTML engine.
You can refer this page http://www.campaignmonitor.com/css/ shows
many things that do not work in different clients.I think Someone needs to re-code
the HTML form to make it work in the current versions of Outlook. You can try formatting with text and HTML and see the results.
