Flash Installer hangs up at 25% on download in installer after launching installer

I have removed all Flash previous versions. I'm on a Macbook air, Yosemite. I'm trying to install flash current V17 installer. It launches the installer and hangs are 25%. I've run the uninstaller, I've removed the plug in from Libraray and the Flash folder from the Application support, emptied trash and rebooted. I do not have any other apps open.
I cannot install flash..
I tried opening the package content and tried launching from that

You can only use apps downloaded from the App store, not via a browser. There is no Flash for any iOS device including the iPod.

  • Flash Installer cannot download. "Adobe Flash Player could not be installed."

Flash Installer cannot download. Finally get the message,  "Adobe Flash Player could not be installed." I already uninstalled the old copy, now I have no Flash Player.

My issue was identical.... days of frustrating downloads and initializing but no installation........ UNTIL I chose to not use the default installer and chose 'Save File'. Now I have the latest Flash installed in OS 10.8.5 no problems !!
This time a long download of 16MB arrived in the downloads folder that actually worked.
Prior to this, all downloads were around 1.6MB and there was no .dmg in the package.
I got my download under where it says "Still having problems?"
    Hope this helps you.

Disable the A/V and then run the installer.

  • Flash installer hangs up on OSX 10.6.8

Trying to install Flash player 15 on OSX10.6.8 but the installer hangs up every time. All browsers have been quit, Flash preference file & folder trashed. Activity monitor shows Flash installer not responding almost immediately and eventually stops. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi Seaweed,
Unfortunately, nothing Flash Player related is still being logged.
At which point is the installer hanging?  When the installer is first launched, there's a EULA acceptance check-box and the INSTALL button.  Does it hang before this, or after you click the INSTALL button?  Does it get the install progress bar and then hang?  Please do post a screenshot of the window it's hanging at.
We'd like to get a sample of the Install Manager process when it's hanging.  In Activity Monitor, select the 'Adobe Flash Player Install Manager' process and double-click it.  This will open a new window with details on the process.  Click the 'Sample' button.  When it's finished acquiring the sample, save the file and share the results in the same way you've shared the other log files.
Also, have you by chance run the standalone installer (Uninstall Flash Player | Mac OS), to completely remove what was previously installed, or did you just trash the folders (from your first post you said you trashed some of the Flash Player folders).  If you haven't run the standalone uninstaller, please do so as trashing the folders doesn't completely remove all remnants Flash Player.

  • Downloading the Flash installer

How do I download the flash installer instead of using the
web interface? I need to install Flash on an isolated network that
does not have internet connectivity so the "fancy" installer won't
    cut it.

Legally yes, that's correct. What you'd be licensing is the
ability to move the Flash Player installer from one fixed disk to
another (by whatever means you choose).
It's a simple license. Free, too. And automatic. As soon as
you submit it you'll recevieve an approval with a personalize URL
    to get the necessary bits.

  • Flash CS3 hanging & Not responding

    Hi there,
I'm having an issue with trying to import an .ai (CS3) file
    with strokes to Flash CS3.
Whenever I try and import a complex (730 shapes) .ai file
with strokes, Flash just hangs and becomes unresponsive. I can
however import the same complex .ai file without strokes defined.
I can also import less complex (7 shapes) .ai files with
    strokes defined.
Has anyone experienced similar issues and found a fix?
    Many thanks, Rich

  • Flash CS6 hangs on document load/creation.

I can start Flash Ok, but as soon as I select a document to open, or create a new document, Flash just hangs indefinitely.
I’m running windows 8.1 on a Bootcamp partition of a Mac Book Pro. I work in development so there maybe a conflict with one of the SDK packages I’m using But I have no way of knowing for sure.
I have uninstalled all java SDKs but to no avail. I should also mention this does not happen with Flash CC.
Any ideas would be very helpful, as I’ve already spent about a day to trying to trouble shoot this.

  • Flash installer is very poor show.

I doubt anyone will listen - but just want to add my feedback to others who have been upset by how flash installs updates.
I was asked to update by flash in the big black box on start up.. did so and it downloaded Macafee without my permission.  Installing this way does not appear to give you any options to disable this installation option.
Unprofessional behaviour in my opinion.  Following the tactics of malware sites is not acceptable.  Paints your whole company in a bad light being associated with this.

Thanks for the clarification.  This definitely is not the intended behavior.  I've seen similar complaints, and we take them seriously and do our best to investigate them.  We have around 1.2 billion users, but I've seen maybe a couple dozen complaints about this over the last couple years.  A failure rate of 0.001% at Flash Player scales translates to 100k+ people, and I'm not seeing the kind of overwhelming response that you would expect if this was a widespread issue.
We get a wave of questions with each update, and we usually get a handful of this kind of complaint for each release.  I've personally spent a bunch of time trying to recreate a scenario where this would happen, and I haven't been able to do it.  I've worked with a couple people that were experiencing this to try and recreate the problem on their machines as well, but the issue has never reproduced for anyone I've talked to.  My guess is that it's timing dependent.  When we publish the update, we don't just put it on one server.  It goes out to a Content Distribution Network, composed of thousands of geographically distributed servers.  It takes about an hour for the update to fully propagate across the entire CDN, and because of the transitory nature of the symptoms, my guess is that if you happen to hit the update at just the wrong time, there's a half-updated server state that somehow causes the client to grab the wrong payload; however, the payload with and without the bundled offers have totally different names, so it's not obvious from looking at the code as to why this would happen (and we've looked carefully).
Anything that you can tell me in terms of specifics about your system would be useful in helping to put a picture together of what's happening.  In particular the Operating System and version, and the browser(s) that you have installed.

  • Annoying Problem - Flash Installation

Basically my problem is this. Whenever I go on certain
websites, sometimes the flash content works and other times it
doesn't. I tried to reinstall Flash Player 8 but it says it's
already installed, but then when I go to view flash content on
another site it says I do not have Flash Player. I went into
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and I removed Flash Player 8
(Which strangely there seemed to be 2 of, maybe where the problem
lies), but then I come back to the website to try install it and it
    says it's already installed.
I'm a bit confused wondering why it says I have it installed
despite just removing it myself, but I went and tried another site
and it's still not working. I don't really know what to do as the
installer on the site says I have the player, but everywhere else
says I don't. But there is no way of downloading the player from
the site and installing it on my PC from a client-side file from
what I can gather, so I have to use the installer on the site which
is annoying as I feel the site way is not actually installing
anything at all. I don't get the ActiveX alert from the site
either, but I'm sure that's because I already have it, as this is
    only a recent problem.
I'm currently using IE 7.0.5346.5 (Beta 2) on Windows XP Home
(w/ SP2), but I updated my IE to try and counter the problem but it
didn't work. When I use Netscape 8.0 the flash content seems to
show up perfectly and I have no problem, but I prefer using IE to
    the very slow-loading Netscape.
I read about a similar problem on here but it seemed be about
the Safari browser and not IE, so hopefully somebody knows/can help
with this? I'd be eternally greatful for any solution anyone can
    provide.

    Hi Dave,
I've got a confirmation that my VBScript is appropriate :
    http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=184&threadid=11470 48&enterthread=y
BTW, if you use Norton as AntiVirus, you'll have an alert
    because of
the access to registry and files inside the script.
    http://docxp.mvps.org/b1n/FlashRepair.exe
This script can't repair ALL flash problems, but i think it
    is
fine for yours. On a fully functionnal Flash installation, it
    can't
    break anything.
What the script is doing ?
    0) Check I.E. user langage for french or english use in
    dialogs
    1) Close all open Internet Explorer windows
    2) change registry rights (to allow 3) or re-installation) on
    flash related keys
    3) register latest flash ocx (if found)
    4) remove lock of flash CLSID by "kill bit"
FYI : this script is locked for XP use only.
You want to check code before launching ?
No problem, just unzip the .exe and open vbs file with
    notepad
Ini file is for registry rights change.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers

Seriously, where can you get the current offline Flash

What version of Mac OS X? Be aware that Studio 8 is quite old and may not be supported on later versions of Mac OS X. In fact the reference to <Flash Carbon Player> suggests this, as Carbon is being deprecated (it was a way to bridge the old pre-mac os x codebases and bring them over to Mac OS X). It may be time to upgrade/update your software.

In general, when desktop software is using Flash Player, it's because they're embedding an Internet Explorer window in the application.  If you don't have Flash Player for Internet Explorer (aka. the ActiveX Flash Player) installed, then the desktop application isn't going to work.
    So, fire up Internet Explorer
    Go here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Follow the prompts, and then re-launch the application after you've completed the installation in IE.  Hopefully that sorts it out for you.
