Flash no longer works in some browsers

Hi guys,
Unfortunatly flash is not my strong point so i have no idea how to best diagnose this and thus need some help. we have a flash app on our site http://www.ecorepay.cc/epg/ it all used to work fine. Then in stoped
working in firefox. Then IE. Now it only works in older firefox versions or Safari. Any one have any ideas on whats happen in browser updates that has stoped our flash from working/loading etc?
Thanks for your time in advance. Any help appreciated.
Regards
Martin

That works better ("https" matters)   That opens a page where some Flash file is attempting to load something, seemingly failing or just taking longer than I care to wait for it to load.
For what I can see of the html embedding code, the file is using the AC_RunActiveContent.js approach, however I do not see where you tie in the file in the code... There should be a line somewhere that ties it in in the head section, something like...
<script src="Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
I can suggest two things...
1) Republish the html page in Flash so that it creates the proper embedding code and be sure to have the
AC_RunActiveContent.js file planted on the server and properly targeted in the line that resembles what I show above (resembles, not necessarily identical since there might not be a Scripts folder).
2) Instea dof that embedding approach try the latest in Flash embedding approaches and use swfobject.js.  You can find it here... http://code.google.com/p/swfobject/ including instructions on how to implement it.
Beyond those, as I said, I arrived at a page that appears to be trying to load something, but isn't getting there.  It is possible that whatever file it is trying to load is not where it needs to be or there is some other path/targeting error occuring.

    The above directions worked great
I am now a happy customer, and IE Browser user
Looks to me like you need to put the browser back into its
original state, and then download the Adobe Flash Player.........it
worked! I spent two days on this, and was ready to go back to
original software on the whole computer......these directions show
that you only need to go back to the basics of the browser....not
the basics of the computer software,

  • Since the most recent Firefox update Flash (v.10.3) no longer works on some sites

I had problems with the Flash v.11.whatever recent upgrade so uninstalled it and installed v.10.3etc. It worked fine for all sites until the most recent Firefox update a few days ago (27th August, 2012?). Now Flash will not work on some sites e.g. UK's Channel 4 On Demand service. Other browsers work fine on same site e.g. Chrome. Can you guys at Mozilla try and get Firefox communicating with Flash again? Thanks.

    Hello Anne.
Can you please try it in a new (temporary) Firefox profile and see if the issue is still present? See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles this article] to know how to create a new Firefox profile. Please report back the results.

  • Upgraded to CS3 and Flash no longer works in browsers

Since upgrading to CS3 my Flash no longer works in my top

  • Flash no longer works in Chrome

I was playing apps on facebook on a Chrome browser last night, when at about midnight (cst) Flash crashed.  No problem, usually I just refresh & it's fine.  Not last night.  I uninstalled & reinstalled six times.  No luck.  Absolutely no Flash working on Chrome.  I switched to IE8, where it does crash more often than it used to on Chrome, but was still working after one uninstall/reinstall.  Reading the forums, I got so confused, I don't know what to do.  I don't understand all the technical terms.  I gather from reading that a new version was released, which appears to be the problem.  My computer is 64-bit, which I am aware is the problem causing the crashes.  Can I get some help in plain-English-computer-idiot?  Please.  I miss my farmville & my food spoiled in cafe world.
    thanks,
    Pam (dewolf99)

hey, thanks for getting back to me so fast.
Guess what?  My computer-genius son is down for the weekend, and fixed whatever I did wrong.  He said that while Chrome appeared to be closed, there were still Chrome.exe processes remaining.  As a result, when I tried to install Flash, it would install incorrectly...telling me the download was successful, while in reality it wasn't.
Let me know if you still want that info, I can still post it if you want me to.
    Thanks, Pam (dewolf99)

Hi, thanks for starting your thread:-) Yes it is confusing, I agree. Some threads are more so and I didn't want you to get mixed up in those.
Please post back what operating system you are using, Windows XP, ??. Also since your system is a 64bit, you always need to use the 32bit browser, which I'm sure you are aware of.
In order to save you some time, go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash  Right click on Flash and Open the folder. Then post back all files listed there. The files NPSWF you will need to right click on each one and then click on Properties in order to obtain the version numbers.
If you need direction on how to get to the Flash folder let me know.
Keep in mind also, that since Adobe come out with an update for Flash Player, some of the websites may be updating as well. Hopefully it was just a glitch and nothing wrong with your computer Flash Player. We'll see.
    Thanks,

  • Flash no longer works with Firefox 13

so I have Firefox 13.0.1 and upgraded flashplayer to 11.3 and flash no longer works. I've tried lots of things, but finally downgraded flas player to 11.2. Still no joy. The only way I can get Flash to work is if I start Firefox in safemode with add-ons disabled. If i manually disable add-ons from within Firefox is still doesn't work, so I guess that isn't quite the same as the safemode disabling. I don't have RealPlayer installed. I tried creating a new profile, but still no joy. Any other ideas for me to try please?

  • Flash no longer working on Firefox after update

Moments ago I installed the Flash update after it came up on my screen asking to update, after doing so Flash is no longer working on Firefox, it works fine on other browsers. I cant view videos, look at flash objects etc. It was working perfectly fine before up untill the update. Anybody know how to resolve or fix this issue?

    Dear Chris:
Yes, turning off Protected Mode indeed solves the problem!
Specifically, we today (June 9, 2012) installed the new Adobe Flash v. 11.3.300.257 on several Windows 7 PC's, all running Firefox v. 14 (Beta), and none of the Firefox installations would confirm that the installation was performed successfully.  For example, the Adobe Flast test/about site, https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about, would not work.  And, likewise, YouTube videos and other Flash-encoded videos did not work either.
So, we tried your suggestion to disable the new Protected Mode, and it worked.  That is, every single machine on which Flash did not work in Firefox now functions perfectly.  So this conclusively demonstrates that there indeed is some kind of bug in the implementation of Protected Mode.
Can you please let me and the other Adobe users know when this is fixed.  Thanks.
Also, could you likewise let us know the risks of turning of Protected Mode (although we really don't have any choice, as Flash will not work on Firefox with PM turned on).
    Thank you.  Much appreciated.
    Kind regards,

  • Flash no longer working on webpage - why?

A charity organization I occasionally do photography for has
a bilingual website with a 'Flash only' intro page. But since
upgrading my browser's (IE and Firefox on XP) Flash plugin to v10 I
get just a blank white page. The code is there if I select View
Code, but the Flash does not load.
I succeeded in reinstalling the v9.47 Flash reader and their
site's now working again. But I'm concerned that many visitors
whose support they rely on will not be able to load their website
if they update their Flash viewer and are not computer savvy enough
to know what to do to fix it. The impression one gets is that the
    website is no longer there.
Is there something I can tell them to do with their Flash
code that will resolve this? Is this a known issue for which a fix
is forthcoming? Folks designing websites that rely on Flash must be
    concerned, no?
I don't know enough about Flash to offer them a suggestion on
how to fix whatever be wrong with their code, if that's what's
causing it. Any insight is appreciated.
    The website is
    http://www,procure.ca and it
provides information on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and
    eventual cure of prostate cancer.

  • Flash video reports unavailable in some browsers

    Hi,
I was trying out some browsers like uzbl, surf, dwb etc. but found some sites with flash where the video reported "Sorry, this episode is temporarily unavailable". When viewed with Firefox or Chromium it works fine. Here's an example:
    http://thepunkeffect.com/?p=4830
Any idea what the issue would be?
    Thanks

I think sometimes this is a result of the website not supporting your browser - at least in some cases.  If it occurs on every website that uses flash, then your browser is looking for the plugin in the wrong directory or else you need to install nspluginwrapper (and perhaps configure it to look in your flashplayer directory for libflashplayer.so).

  • Back button no longer works in some specific situations; also, it appears that clearing cache isn't working.

The "back" button no longer works in certain specific situations on certain specific websites -- especially on the very website on which I need to use it very frequently. This has been going on for a couple of weeks.
Also, I noticed today that the "clear cache now" command doesn't seem to be working. Formerly, when I cleared the cache, I had to re-login to those websites that normally "remember" my login (because clearing the cache erased that "memory") -- but today, after using the "clear cache now" command, those websites still "remember" my login, which leads me to believe the cache didn't get cleared. Is there any other way to check whether it got cleared?
I was attempting to clear the cache in the faint hope that this might help the above "back" button problem, as no one has yet given me a solution for this that has worked. One person suggested having Firefox re-create the possibly damaged "places.sqlite" and "places.sqlite-journal" files. I tried this, but there was no change to the problem.
I think this problem started around the time I had a few Firefox crashes while using YouTube and doing something else on the computer at the same time.
I just today learned about the "crash signature" -- how to look it up, and to include it in a forum question. However, the crash log did not show these recent crashes, only some others from a few months ago. So, I'm unable to show the crash signature for this.
I'm guessing there's a chance that upgrading to a newer version of Firefox might fix this problem -- but I hesitate to do that, because it occurs to me that it also may be possible that changing the program before fixing this might make it harder to fix. I don't have enough knowledge of this software to know which is more likely, and I don't like to try things at random, in ignorance of the possible results. Also, after reading today several other forum comments from people who are unhappy with their Firefox upgrades, I hesitate to upgrade for that reason, also.

  • Flash no longer working when updating a template page

Recently switched from GoLive over to DW CS3. I've purchased Total Training for DW CS3 to help me with the transition.
I am wanting to create a template page to use for the entire site so that if I need to make a change to the template, it updates my entire website.  When I upload the page, the flash image loads fine. The problem I'm having is if I reopen the template.dwt page and make a change, when DW updates the pages that are linked to the template, the flash image in the pages no longer work.
Here are my steps I've taken:
    1.  Created a page called index.html
    2.  Made an editable region called "main content" using Insert>Template Objects>Editable Region
    3.  Created a folder called templates in the root directory
    4.  File>Save as Template and called it home.html (for testing so I don't mess up my working index.html page)
    5.  File>New>Page from Template and selected my template.dwt file
    6.  Added content to the page.
    7.  File>Save As company-history.html
    8.  Upload index.html, home.html and company-info.html to the server.
Everything works like it is supposed to.
    9. Open template.dwt and make a change.
    10. Save page and DW updates the home.html and company-info.html pages
    11. Upload to server
    12. Flash image on those two pages stop working
Here are the links to my pages
    Index - Working properly
Home - (made from template) Flash not working
Company Info - Flash not working (made from template) Flash not working
Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

Oh, I see you did.  So in the template file, make this -

    Read like this -
    AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0','width','900','height','256','title','Main Flash Slideshow','src','/images/Main-Flash-Slideshow','quality','high','pluginspage','http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash','movie','/images/Main-Flash-Slideshow' ); //end AC code

  • HT1338 Older Mac running Tiger 10.4.11. and Flash no longer works. Upgraded version installed and left me without any Flash support at all??

I recently attempted to upload the latest FLASH PLAYER. My older Mac (G4) works wonderfully as a desktop computer, so I NEED a flash player
badly, but now it says that Adobe no longer supports older Mac Power PCs! What's up with that?? Some of the best and most desirable computers
ever made are of no interest to Adobe?
I there a work-around to eliminate the need for Adobe's Flash Player?? Another Flash version......can you say Macromedia? HELP

You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 is for Snow Leopard onwards.
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, contributor Texas Mac Man suggests the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the latest version:)
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.
But possibly that only works with Leopard.

  • Flash no longer works with YouTube

I updated Flash, Firefox, and Windows 7 on 12/10/14. Since that time I am no longer able to use Flash on YouTube. I get a black player and the message: "An error has occurred. Try again later." I'm using Firefox version 34.0.5 and Flash version 16.0.0.235. If I disable Flash the HTML5 player works. This is a real pain because I'd rather use the Flash player and several other sites I visit require Flash. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I don't know if the problem is with Flash, YouTube, or Windows. Any help would be appreciated.

Please ask your question on a forum for the Flash Player

  • Firefox Mac: Flash no longer works after upgrading to latest version of Yosemite.

I'm running the latest version of Yosemite and with the recent upgrade, I can't get any video (Flash, YouTube, etc.) to run using Firefox. Works fine in Safari and Chrome. I did all of the usual permission repairs, reboots, Firefox resets, etc. Nothing seems to work. Any advice?

With a bit more digging on the net... I fixed it!
    Check this crazy stuff out:
AS3Verbose=1 # Traces detailed information about SWF  ByteCode structure and Runtime parsing of the bytecode
    http://jpauclair.net/2010/02/10/mmcfg-treasure/
In mm.cfg is bad. Turn it off, everything's happy. Some add-in must've turned it on for me.
