Flash Player 11 not working on some sites

Flash works fine in most cases but on some web sites I receive "The requested media player requires Macromedia Flash software. You have an old version of Macromedia Flash Player that cannot play the content we've created" and says to download and install the latest Flash player. The Adobe Flash Player site says Flash is working fine with the latest version installed. I went through the troubleshooting on the Adobe Flash player site plus others I found (uninstall/reinstall Flash, ActiveX off, Add-On enabled, etc). Did the "reset_fp11.bat.zip" Windows permission problem fix - no good. Tried all I could find - hopefully something stupid I haven't checked but tried my best! Checked the Guest account but same problem. Turned off antivirus - no good. But when I tried the 64-bit IE it plays with no problem. My wife has an essentially identical computer and it works fine in IE 32-bit version on these same sites. Windows 7 64 bit, Flash Version 11.3.300.270, Internet Explorer 9.

Just to close this issue.  The next day, without me doing anything at all, everything seems to
be working from this site.  Maybe the site did something to adjust to the new Flash version?

  • Flash player not working on some sites such as facebook

I uninstalled flash using the Uninstaller then installed the latest version. I was unable to view some webpages that require flash such as facebook. I did all of the troubleshooting that they sugguested on the adobe site such as inactivating active x, checking add ons, enabling scripting, lowering security, and deleting flash temp files.  I am still unable to view flash on some pages. When I click on the link to check if you have flash I can see the movie and it verifies I have the latest version of flash.  I have windows 7 and Internet explorer 9 Please help

I'd recommend first clearing your Flash Player cache and settings to see if that helps:
How do I clear my Flash Player cache and settings?
If it doesn't, please provide a url so we can give it a try

Can I roll back to a previous version of Flash player?

    The above directions worked great
I am now a happy customer, and IE Browser user
Looks to me like you need to put the browser back into its
original state, and then download the Adobe Flash Player.........it
worked! I spent two days on this, and was ready to go back to
original software on the whole computer......these directions show
that you only need to go back to the basics of the browser....not
the basics of the computer software,

  • Flash Player only works on some sites with Explorer

I've uninstalled reinstalled cleared the cash. Disable Activex filtering. On some sites it says that I need to update but I have the most current version. I also have Fire Fox and Chrome and they work fine.

What version does it say you have installed on IE if you go to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html#main_Find_the_Flash_ Player_version_installed_on_your_machine ?

  • Flash player not working on ADOBE SITE (tutorials) but does everywhere else!

  • Flash Player not working on some pages

Using  Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit,
Google Chrome 10.0.648.127 (not sure if it's 32 or 64, was told to assume 32)
              Flash Player WIN 10,2,154,18
Works fine for most pages but when I try to see a friends' app on Facebook I get a message saying "You need at least Flash Player 10.0 to view this page." but when I click the download button it says "Your Google Chrome browser already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in. Google Chrome will automatically update when new versions of Flash Player are available."
I have uninstalled rebooted and re installed several times already and don't have a clue what's wrong.
Hardware acceleration is disabled; other Facebook apps work just fine and the same problem happens in Firefox.
The chat centre guy didn't know what to do and sent me here.
Any help whatsoever will earn you awesome sauce with extra kudos!
    Peace

    Hi Liam,
Could you try the steps outlined in our Use Flash Player With Google Chrome document and see if they help?
    Thanks,

  • Flash player not working in some places.

I'm experiencing several problems with flash related applications. Videos on facebook won't play, after they load i get an error saying; "the video you requested could not be loaded". However youtube works like normal, and when i go to the download flash page, it says that i have the newest version, and the flash logo runs perfectly.
I've tried many different internet browsers but the same things always happen.
PS: I also noticed that there is no sound in wimp, i can play songs, but not hear them. I don't know if this is related to the other problem, but i believe so because wimp is an adobe air application...
    OS: Windows 7, 32bit.
    Plz help...

Tried deactivating my antivirus (avast), not working.
Not using any security apps (don't really have any other apps installed either).
"Do not track" feature on/off makes no difference.
The video is still available on facebook. (Can see it on other computers).
If you're using IE9, disable Active Filtering. You'll find it in the "Tools" menu.
Have you tried using a different browser?
I suggest to download Firefox 9.0.1 from here: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/
Then download Flash player and Shockwave For Director from here:
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
Shockwave For Director is an enhanced version of Flash which enables users to do things like interact with online games.

  • Flash player not working on all sites

I originally posted this on the Flashplayer 10.1 Desktop forum.  Didn't get any answers, thought I'd post here as well.
    Windows XP Professional SP3
    Intel Core2 Duo CPU E8200 @ 2.66GHz, 2GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS (2 cards)
10 Mbs cable internet connection and do not use a proxy server to connect to internet.
After updating to Flash 10.1, I'm having a problem on a handful of sites when the flash-enabled media player starts, I get a "Buffering" message for a few seconds, then the audio/video starts and runs for a few seconds, then stops and the "Buffering" message reappears   For instance, I have this problem on the NPR music site (http://www.npr.org/music/)  and Daily Show site (http://www.thedailyshow.com/), but most of the other Flash capable sites I've been to work fine (like YouTube, Yahoo).
I contacted the NPR site about this issue and they said "they were unable to replicate the problem."
I have this problem on IE8, Firefox 3.6.3, and Chrome 5,
BTW - I even tried reverting back to Flash 10.0.45 2 and the problem still occurs.  I have since gone back to Flash 10.1.

    eidnolb:
I just discovered I didn't list all of the IE add-ons.  I only listed ones that been "loaded".   Here is the complete list.
I kept wondering why the list appeared to change.   Sorry about that.
Will wait to do what you said in your last reply until you post back.

  • Flash player not working for this site

    Hi All,
When I am at the site down in this message, my flash isn't
loading and it is asking for flash download. only in IE in firefox
it's working ok. Do you have any suggestions?
    The site is
    www.nedfinity.com

There is no problem with SWFObject. It's loads better than
    the default
settings - aka Adobe's script. Which is why Adobe uses
    SWFObject on their
    own page.

flash player not working.  can't watch video and can't upload pics to facebook

thanks for helping.  I have windows 7, internet explorer.  recently had to replace my hard drive, and compete reinstall of all software so still a few bugs on settings, ect.  not seeing any error messages.  video and uploading pics seemed to be fine until the last week.  not sure what could have changed .  I can still look at PDF ect, I'm not positive its the Adobe that is messed up, but the 2 things I'm having problems with, clicking on and watching video on espn.com and not uploading pics to Facebook, both just does nothing when I try them.  no errors, just black screen where its suppose to play or upload.  the trouble shooting for both sites say make sure to have the latest version of flash player, so thats why I assume something is wrong with Adobe.  when I do the self scan from this site it says I have the latest version.  my settings say the player is enabled

  • Why does flash player not work with facebook?

Why does flash player not work with fcebook?  Whenever I wish to view a video, I get the message that i need to upgrade my flash player. Then no matter how often I download and install flash player I still get the message that I need to upgrade my flash player.  When I go check which version I have, I always get the message that I have the most current one.  I run Mozilla Firefox with Windows.  I don't know anything else.

This means you don't have the latest version installed.  Update to 11.9.900.117, and Firefox will allow it: Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
