Flash player for safari won't download

Flash Player for Safari 7.04 won't download. It's not an antivirus issue because it's turned off, everything is enabled.

Chris,
My problem was that while the installer downloaded, the installation process always crapped out and gave me this error message: "Error: Unable to proceed with the installation". Tried everything and none of it worked. I COULD download v12 of Flash, but noticed that it used a different style of installer that has a simpler, "chunkier" progress bar and overall look, and doesn't ask about whether Flash should check for updates automatically until AFTER the install was done (different from the standard v14 installer, which has a skinnier progress bar and prompts you about auto updates before most of the installation happens).
Just saw your post, downloaded the installer from the macromedia link you provided, and it installed fine! Superfast. Done and done.
In doing so, however, I noticed that the alt version of the v14 Flash installer from your link also has the same simpler, chunkier type of installer as v12. is there a know problem with the standard (skinny progress bar) version of the installer and Mavericks? This has happened before, and I'm now just realizing that the installs only ever work with the "alt" style of installer.
a) Is Adobe aware of this problem? are they working to make a fix so that i don't have to pull my hair out everytime there's a new security update for Flash?
b) Would you please consider posting your solution in a more obvious place? I'm betting there are a lot of other Mac users having this issue, but because Adobe help can be sort of a byzantine mess (not you, obviously, but the system itself) I'm betting there are a ton of Mac users that are just giving up, like I almost did. Making this issue known, and positing the alt download will save many people many hours of grief.
Thanks for posting your solution!
Cheers,
M
FYI: I'm on a MacBook Pro with Retina (original) running 10.9.3. I have a 750 GB SSD hard drive, 16 GB of RAM, and a 2.7 GHz Core i7 processor.

Adobe Flash is pretty much a 32-bit application. You may be able to fix the problem by going into your Applications folder, and right-clicking on Safari. There is a check box that will allow you to run Safari in 32-bit mode. Try that and see if Flash works in Safari.
I have retired my iMac, and have an HP now, but a friend helped me with the same problem when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. My PC seems to have just one 64-bit browser, that being Internet Explorer. I am using IE9 Beta in 64-bit, and the Beta for Flash "Square" in 64-bit seems to work fine. See link below:

  • Flash Player for Safari

I know doesn't like it, but I was forced to install Flash Player in Safari in order to be able to read the eedition of the newspaper. I also had to reactivate Java. Yet, the paper still will not download even though those installations were successful. Even though I can do it in Firefox without a problem. When I click on the link I am sent each day, I get the box that the paper should appear in, but the word FLASH in the middle of the box where the paper should be.
I have been doing this successfully for a long time with Lion, but I'm guessing maybe an update to Safari has created a problem. I don't know but would love to get this resolved if anyone has any suggestions.

Doubtful that the paper uses Java, but it almost certainly uses Javascript (which confusingly is something completely different).
Make sure Javascript is activated, but not Java.
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFl ash
You can check here what version of Flash player you actually have installed:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

  • Flash Player and Reader won't download

Hi, I've been trying to resolve this problem for months.  I can download the installation files, run them, give access permission.....then nothing happens.  I've tried everything.  I've uninstalled the previous versions, turned off my firewall and antivirus programs, run scans, enabled javascript (where I can find the option), etc.  I now have no Flash or Reader on my computer.  Help!

  • Has any one heard if apple will start to support Flash player for Safari

There are a few web sites I like to visit but they require flash player and Safari does not support it on my iTouch.  does anybody know a work around or have you heard if Apple will start supporting it?

Considering Apple owns about 75% of the "pad" space I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for them to disappear.
To further illustrate your ignorance, it is Adobe who has given up on Flash, not Apple.  If you did any sort of research you would quickly find out why there is no Flash in iDevices.
If there's any pride swallowing called for, I believe it would be yours.

  • Cant Download Flash Player for Safari/Chrome/FF

Trying to download the correct version of Flash player however as i attempt to download the download grinds to a halt and times out, this is a 2.4mb file which should take no more than a few seconds, not a few days!!
Is there a mirror site i can download from or can someone advise me of where to get it rather than me sitting having no flash?

All 3rd-party download sites eventually redirect the download back to adobe.com or macromedia.com I have found out.
All I can offer you is this alternate download page with installers for all supported platforms.

  • Last update of Adobe Flash Player for Safari

Adobe flash player last update downloaded and installed but still it doesn't work with Safari. Pls advice as I don't see Adobe in the list of my programms. I followed this instruction http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5655 and it was successfully installed

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 5.
    1. If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, sign in to your YouTube account and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    2. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
    3. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    4. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    5. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    6. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    7. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • How come I need Adobe Flash Player for Safari

I have the latest Macbook Pro and I guess the latest version of Safari.  So why doesn't a current version of Safari play videos on the internet? Why must I download Adobe Flash Player to watch videos on the interne? I can watch a few videos on Youtube, but most of the time I need to switch over to Google Chrome to watch.  I don't need Flash Player with that browser. Can't understand why Safari needs it and Chrome doesn't.

I am switching between Safari to Chrome so I can watch videos but it's becoming a pain. But I've also noticed that some websites have a different look in Chrome. It's as if Chrome is better than Safari. What a bummer. Apple would do itself a favor to offer the best browser since, to me, Apple is the best computer.
I guess I will just have to give in and download Flash if I want to use Safari. The reason I'm reluctant is because on my previous MacBook I always got prompted to download the 'latest Flash player" even though I had the latest Flash. It was such a nuisance. Was hoping with my latest purchase of this computer I'd be all up to date.
Thank you all for your replies.

  • Flash Player For Safari 4.1.3

    Hi Gang
I'm sure this question has been bounced around regarding 10.4.11; 'Ten Four' doesn't support plug in's, Fire Fox 3.6 doesn't work anymore and some folks have problems getting a Flash plug-in for Safari 4.1.3.
I have a couple of G5's; all with 10.4.11, two Dual Core 2.0's, and one Single Processor 1.8. The Dual Core is working fine with Safari 4.1.3 and Flash works fine. However, I can't get some videos to play properly in my G5 Single Processor with Safari 4.1.3. Wondering if I need an archived download for Flash?
    Any ideas?
    Thanx
    Mike

    Hi Steve
The problem is that the latest Adobe Flash Player is not compatible with 10.4.11 - The Adobe site clearly states this when I try to download Flash. Thats's why I asked about an older player.
Funny thing is, my Dual Core works fine.

  • Q. Flash player for Safari

I know that I can get a flash player plugin for Safari on my PC but when is it going to be available for the iphone 3G?
Not being able to view flash media limits viewing a lot of web sites.

Not only no flash, but no java either, but guys don't bother wasting your time here, Apple never responds to the enduser's opinion nor requests, they just delete forums which are getting too embarrassing or unwanted, instead of helping the one feeding them, because we are with buying their products, listen, they sold so many iPhones and made sooo much cheese that they will not worry about a couple of hopeless dudes like you and actually open up a platform for "forth-party" programmers such as flash or java game makers, that would totally kill that so far SENSELESS app store.. You know guys, I'll get over no flash support, since it would probably drain the battery even faster, but what I can't understand are the followings below:
Why can I not set up my exchange on the "revolutionary iPhone"?
    Why doesn't it "just work"?
    Why can't I disable auto-correct in SMS?
Why is not there a real turn by turn app blaming on safety reasons while having GPS google maps available (which I'm certain is much-more dangerous)?
Why don't you equip the rev. iphone with stereo bluetooth?
Why is there no GPRS function?
Why can't I use my old charger which worked perfectly fine with iphone 1?
Why can't one insure the iPhone?
Why can't one communicate through bluetooth?
Why is there no landscape keyboard for SMS?
Why is there an apple recognition chip for a/v out (is piracy ok if I use apple dock??)?
And I could go on and on..

  • Flash player for safari windows

    Hiya,
Just wondering if there is anywhere where I can get flash for Safari Windows? I have looked on the Adobe website and there's nothing there. I like using safari but if theres no flash I may aswell go back to using IE.
    Kind regards

I have Safari 3.0.4 on my Windows Vista machine and it cannot access Flash and Windows Media content on websites. I also have IE7 on Vista and it can access this content. Safari automatically tells me I need to download the appropriate plugins and directs me to the sites where I can do this.
Before I try downloading this recommened version, how can one find out what type and version of Flash and other plugins are on my system? I am having trouble finding plugins on my system especially Flash.
    Thanks
