Flash Player Not Updating?
Hello,
About 10 minutes ago, I checked the Plugin Checker to make sure all my plugins were up to date. It said that my Flash Player needed updating, so I did that.
However, I checked the Plugin Checker again after downloading to make sure it went through, it didn't, and still lists Flash as Vulnerable/In Need of an update: http://i.imgur.com/tiA64Ji.png
Checking Flash's About page, it seems that I have the correct version?: http://i.imgur.com/RL7rdif.png This version is also the same one listed in the download page: http://i.imgur.com/6xLDOOU.png
So am I up to date or not?
It is a bit of a headache right now as 16.0.0.296 is vulnerable actually however Adobe has yet to release yet another update to try and fix critical exploits that is in older versions.
https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsa15-02.html
The update will likely be available at https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html before http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ as was case with last release for a few days.

Flash player not updating to 11.7.700.191 help please
anyone know why this isnt updating?
I don't work on the installer, so I'm guessing here. If you've already selected an update preference, it would make sense to not prompt you again. We *should* prompt you on a fresh install, or after running the Uninstaller, as you would not have a defined preference in either case.
You can also toggle the update notification preference at any time from Control Panel > Flash Player > Advanced.
You can choose between "Always Allow Adobe to install updates", in which case we only notify you when there's a feature-bearing dot release (on the Release channel). We call this a "loud" release when we talk about it on the team.
If you choose "Notify me to install updates", you'll always get that prompt. If you choose "Never check for updates", you won't get notifications or updates.
For Beta Channel, we never do "loud" releases. Once a week, we send out a build of the latest branch that's ready to go. Right now we're shipping betas of the next Flash Player 11.7 service update while we wrap up the feature work on Flash Player 11.8. As soon as that's done, we'll start pushing out 11.8 builds. -

I can not get Adobe Flash Player to update on my Mac. It keeps telling me to close Safari even though it is closed. I tried every thing on Adobe's site to fix the problem with the same results always. I went to Mac's site as well and was told to go to Adobe for a solution. It worked fine since a new Mac in Feb. ,but it will not update now so no Flash Player ay all. Thanks for any help.

Good evening I would please help me, IGood evening I would please help me, I have problems with flash player when update on my computer Flash Player for windows 8, gives me error in the installation that is not apply on my computer. Please help. Thank You
First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative. -
Adobe is not maintaining Flash Player auto-update
Flash Player auto-update is broken. The URL that is checked by the auto-update agent has not been maintained properly by Adobe:
https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/update/current/sau/11/xml/version.xml
<version>
<ActiveX major="11" minor="4" buildMajor="402" buildMinor="287"/>
<Plugin major="11" minor="4" buildMajor="402" buildMinor="287"/>
<MacPlugin major="11" minor="4" buildMajor="402" buildMinor="287"/>
<SAUConfig checkFrequency="1"/>
</version>
This information is obviously out-of-date, as the current full-release version is Adobe Flash Player version 11.5.502.110.
http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
As a result, client machines relying on the auto-update process are not being patched. The client machines themselves appear to be checking properly - they have internet access and fpsaud appears to be working properly.
There's really no point to having the auto-update facility if you're not going to maintain it. You might as well just pull it out of the product.This is as designed. The silent auto update mechanism is not updated until 30 days after a major release. However, the older style UI notifications are sent out within 7 days (and a system restart). Hopefully the FAQ below explains how this works.
How does the automatic update feature work in Flash Player?
If you are responsible for updating clients within an enterprise network, we do have an option available that allows you to run your own update server and immediately push out builds silently and automatically.

Windows 7 internet security will not allow the installation of Flash Player 17 Update
Windows 7 internet security will not allow the installation of the Flash Player 17 update. I have tried the direct install using the IE_AX update without success.
Hi,
Thanks for the screenshot. It's very helpful. Essentially, this is an issue with the internet security settings on your machine (Internet Explorer > Internet Options > Security), and not a Flash Player issue. I Googled "internet security settings prevented one or more files from opening' and it returned numerous hits. I'm posting a few for you, however, I'm not endorsing any of them. I recommend you search your self and select one you feel comfortable with.

How to fix: These files can’t be opened. Your Internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened. …

Flash Player not getting updated automatically on OS X
Hi, I have Mavericks installed and my Flash Player "Updates" settings are set to "Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended)". But still, the Flash Player is not getting updated automatically.
When I click the "Check Now" button, a dialog box appears notifying an update is available and it takes me to the Flash Player download page. Isn't this supposed to download it and update in the background instead?Hi,
Can you please go to your System Preferences -> Flash Player icon -> Updates tab or Advanced tab (If there is no Updates tab) and post a screenshot here using How to post a screenshot in the forum

In recent weeks many websites on my OS X (10.6.8) have been showing a white patch with "blocked plug-in" on it preventing access to all of the site. When I
click onto it a message appears stating that my Adobe Flash Player needs updating and when I have downloaded the upgrade & moved to Step 3 I get
a "blocked plug in" on it as well. How do I resolve this issue?
ArcheeeWhen you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
You can also try these illustrated instructions from C F McBlob to perform a full "clean install", which will resolve the "Blocked Plug-in" message when trying to update via the GUI updater from Adobe.
Use the FULL installer for 12.0.0.44: Flash Player 12 (Mac OS X)
And the instructons are here: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf -
Why does flash player not work with facebook?
Why does flash player not work with fcebook? Whenever I wish to view a video, I get the message that i need to upgrade my flash player. Then no matter how often I download and install flash player I still get the message that I need to upgrade my flash player. When I go check which version I have, I always get the message that I have the most current one. I run Mozilla Firefox with Windows. I don't know anything else.
Message was edited by: khettichThis means you don't have the latest version installed. Update to 11.9.900.117, and Firefox will allow it: Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
