  • Adobe Flash Player "Failed to initialize" Problem

I am running XP Pro SP3 on a Dell Dimension 4550 desktop, I cannot get Adobe flash player to install and cannot view a video in any of the browsers. I tried the usual steps, download the Flash player uninstaller, uninstall, remove all files from the FLASH folder e.t.c and doesn't work,, any fixes please?

You should be able to install the latest Flash Player 11.7 if you download and run the offline installer(s) from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header (under the heading Progress bar hangs...).
If you rather install version 10.x you can find it on the archive page http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

  • Flash Player and .jsp website problems

Please Help! I can't view Flash Player objects on web pages
that use .jsp. I have the most recent version Flash Player, Windows
XP Home, IE 7, and Norton Internet Security & AntiVirus. I've
tried uninstalling Flash, my computer, turning off Norton, but
nothing works. I'm so confused now, I don't know what to do. I'd
like to start over if I could. (Some sites in particular are
    mlb.com, delta.com and the Yahoo! GameChannel/ StatTracker).
    Any help appreciated.

Sorry guys. I discovered that Safari / Preferences / Security tab I had the 'enable plug - ins' unchecked. I checked it and it solved the problem.
Hope it helps - took me a couple of days before I found it by chance (thrashing around!)

  • Flash Player Update and Download Problem

I had a message telling me to update my Adobe Flash player, so I tried doing that. Got a message that the update needed to close, so apparently it didn't finish updating.(can't remember the message exactly since I didn't know it was going to lead to this problem). Then I found I could not open my email or other sites requiring Adobe Flash Player. It appeared that Adobe had been removed all together.
I tried downloading Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.268. It starts downloading but in the end gives me an error message saying: "Host Unable to Load Application Configuration". I use Windows XP and Internet Explorer 8. I tried saving Adobe Flash Player to my computer before trying to run it but it won't run when I try to open it...I just get the same Host message.
I tried using System Restore to restore my settings to a date 6 days ago, but after the process completed, I got a message that the process was "incomplete because there had not been any changes to my computer"! Well, there have been changes since I used to have Adobe Flash Player and now I don't, and I can't install and run it, meaning I can't open my email or other sites that require it. Please help me fix this. I'm not a computer wizard. Would appreciate any help!

Could you try downloading and installing the appropriate stand alone installer that you can find here?

  • Adobe Flash Player / HP Solution Center Problems!

    Hello
Last night everything was working fine. Until I installed the latest Flash Player 10.1.53.64 RC7. Upon reboot my HP Solution Center was corrupted triggered a pop up error and tried to get me to reinstall it. I did a restore back to earlier in the day and proved it was Adobe Flash Player. My HP Solution Center then worked great. Tried installing the latest Adobe Flash Player again and same problem. So I did another restore and everything is working great still. What conflict or what could be causing this bug in Adobe Flash Player 10.1.53.64 RC7 and HP Solution Center? Are you working on this and will there be a patch soon? Are you aware of this conflict?
I am running indows XP Pro SP3 and my printer is an HP C4580 Photosmart. This same problem also happened on my Wifes Laptop running Windows Vista Home SP2 using the same printer. Very frustrated here.

  • How to transfer flash player windows 8?

The question sounds silly, but its a real one. basically what's happening is the computer I have right now, that I'm typing on, browsing the internet, etc, is my brothers that I am currently borrowing in order to get some updates for the desktop I have. this laptop is running windows 8. I want to put the latest version of flash player, on my desktop which does not have internet access. Can anyone help me? It's probably obvious or right in front of my face, but I don't know what to do. Please, and thank you very much.

Is the unconnected desktop ALSO running WIndows 8?
And what browser is used primarily on it?

  • Flash player 10 sleep/standby problem

Since i've installed flash player 10, when I have websites up
that use the flash player such as hulu.com, veoh.com, etc. it
causes my monitor to not automatically go into sleep mode and my
computer to not automatically go into standby mode. After the set
amount of time, my monitor will begin to go into sleep mode, but
then power back up, and this only occurs when im on a website that
uses flash player. I also tested to make sure it was flash player
10 that was the culprit by using the flash player uninstall, then
reinstalling flash player 9 to see if that would fix the problem,
    which it did.
While some may say, "why not just close the websites before
you leave the room.." I tend to fall asleep while watching tv shows
on hulu and other sites (dont have tv in bedroom), I would like for
my computer to be able to go into standby on its own, and have my
monitor go into sleep mode on its own so that I conserve
    electricity.
Extra info in case it matters: im on windows xp and I use
    firefox

    Thanks for your reply.
The issue not related to AS 2, application running on flash player 10.3 in all browsers but updated flash player 11.1 getting problem.
"AS 2 code .SWF file run on Flash Player 11.1.102.55". this is true/false ?
please guide me about this issue.
    sorry about my english.

  • Flash Player - Windows 7 - 2 Processes in Windows Task Manager - Slowing performance?

Hello...I was hoping someone could help me fix this issue.  I live on my computer for work so this affects me daily and has for many, many, many months.  Firefox works great until Flash Player launches and then everything I do in my browser slows down to a speed similar to a turtle in a chess match.  When I go into the Windows Task Manager to close the Flash Player process so I can, for example, browse a text-only page or fill out a discussion question form on Adobe's forum page without 5 to 10 second delays between instructions (moving the mouse, clicking on something in the browser, typing etc.), I find not one but two processes in the Windows Task Manager. I assume there should only be 1 process and was wondering if it was something I could fix on my machine somewhere other than doing it 15 times a day using Windows Task Manager to stop the process(es) so my machine will work properly.
I highly suspect it is the Flash Player that causes the issue as every single time I kill the process, my machine works like it is supposed to (fast etc.).  As soon as the Flash Player Plugin process(es) starts everything comes to a crawl.  Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this or how to fix it?  I use the latest version of Firefox, the latest version of Flash Player, Windows 7 Professional (latest updates installed), I eat right, get good sleep, give to charity, and love my mom.  What am I doing wrong?          Thanks for your help in advance!

    Hello Chris and Sameer,
thank you for getting back on this issue.
    To answer your questions first:
    - no, I have not posted this issue in the connect forums - I will do and point to this discussion
    - Sameer, I have tested the webcam on the website you pointed out, it is not working with Firefox but it is working in Chrome
I also need to give you an update on the current versions I use:
Win 7 Pro (64bit) (all updates included)
    Firefox 21.0
    IE 10.0.9200.16576
    Chrome  26.0.1410.64 m
    Flash Player 11.7.700.202
    Adobe Connect Addin 11.2 r261
I tested the webcam via FP with Firefox, IE and Chrome in the versions mentioned above. Only in Chrome I can run the WebCam on the www.testwebcam.com website. Once I start the adobe connect meeting and want to start the webcam the Connect Addin stops working with the popup as shown in post 3 of this discussion in all three browsers.
All components have been uninstalled and installed again (except for IE)  for testing with no change in the result. I have also rolled back the computer to the system recovery point furthest back in time to see if any other installation might be the cause. But no luck either.
I am happy to post the logs but would need advise where to find these or how to retrieve.
    Thanks!
    Konwill

  • I updated my software today and since have not been able to use some of the games on Facebook. I have installed the flash player 12 and still problems, can anyone give me some advice?

I updated my software today and since have not been able to use some of the games on Facebook. I have installed the flash player 12 and still problems, can anyone give me some advice?

Your above posted list of installed plugins doesn't show the Flash plugin for Firefox.<br />
See [[Managing the Flash plugin]] and [[Installing the Flash plugin]]
You can check the Adobe welcome and test page: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
You can use this manual download link:

  • I want to build a custom flash player for my desktop

I want to build a custom flash player for my desktop, using C# and Visual Studio 2008. Where do I start? I just want a real simple one to play swf files. Play, stop, loop, full screen, normal size. I'll start there. Where do I go? I've searched the web for an answer, and found several example projects that don't compile, or are incomplete. It's very frustrating. This shouldn't be that difficult.

I think you started the right way - looking for example programs.
If they won't compile, then they probably contain errors.  Fix the errors until they compile.  Then develop your own extensions.
This is one way of developing applications, the other way is starting from scratch.

  • Flash player problem: surroundings on flash player window

i just installed firefox 4.0 beta and have been experiencing a rather annoying problem.  when i scroll down a page with flash, then the writing around the flash area will become part of the flash.  it's hard to explain, so i've attatched pictures to show you what i mean.  please note that this issue was present in google chrome, too, but not as severe.
    i'm running windows 7 64 bit
    mozilla firefox 4 beta
    latest flash 10.1

The purpose of beta software is to find potential problems.  You have just found one, and you should report it back to the beta team.
If you think it is a Flash Player bug, report it at https://bugs.adobe.com/flashplayer/
If Flash Player works fine on the release version of Firefox, then I suggest that you reinstall that version.

  • HT201321 Finder flashing, "Window Restore", desktop problems

I've never seen this happen before. My finder icon bounces in the dock while a window with this warning is up, "Window Restore problem would you like to restore or not restore?" Since it is flashing on and off you can't click either button. What we found was there was a file on the desktop it did not like, I made a folder inside the main HD and put the items from the destop in it and deleted what was on the desktop. This stopped the Finder bouncing problem but Indesign and Acrobat keep crashing. I can log in as admin and it works well but need to fix the desktop problem. Any ideas?

    Hi,
Does the issue occur just after the installation or after some changes?
Please try the follow step to see if it works:
1.Open Task Manager by right-click on Taskbar and select Start Task Manager or by using keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+Shift+Esc".
2.Click on More Details button and go to "Processes" tab.
3.Now look for "Windows Explorer" process. As soon as you click on it, you'll get a new button "Restart" at the bottom-right corner of the window.
4.You can also right-click on the process and select "Restart" option.
If it doesn't work, please try the safe mode and clean boot mode to check the result.

  • HOWTO: Force-update Flash Player for IE10 on Windows 8

Tired of waiting around for Microsoft to issue a Windows update for Flash Player since... well... forever?
Windows 8 ships with Flash Player version 11.3.378.5 while now we're already at version 11.5.502.146!  Adobe won't update this ActiveX control if you're using Windows 8, because apparently Microsoft has to release the update themselves.  They promised to release such updates frequently, however, it's been many months and not one update had ever been released as of yet.
Here's how you can bud in, get in there, and update the ActiveX control yourself:
Notice the version you have installed right now by looking at #2 on this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
Download the new Flash.ocx files (32-bit and 64-bit) here: EDIT: Link removed
Copy these instructions into Notepad or similar, because you must close all running instances of Internet Explorer right now.
    Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
Right-click Flash.ocx and go to Properties.
Go to the Security tab, and then click Advanced.
    Click Change next to "Owner:"
Type the following into the box that appeared and then click OK: Administrators
Under "Permission entries:" double-click "Administrators", check the box "Full control" and then click OK.
Click OK and then click Yes.
    Click OK.
    Rename Flash.ocx to Flash-original.ocx
From the ZIP file you downloaded you will see a folder called System32. In there, copy the Flash.ocx file to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
That was for the 32-bit version that gets used.  Now repeat steps 3 through 12 for the 64-bit version which also gets used, by replacing all occurrences of "System32" above with "SysWOW64".  If you do not find a folder on your computer at C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash then you actually do not need to repeat the steps for the 64-bit version, because your Windows 8 edition is 32-bit
And PRESTO!  Revisit #2 on this page and notice the new version number detected: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
Granted; there are version number entries to update in the registry but I doubt that this makes any difference.  Best to leave those as-is in case an update finally comes along.
    ENJOY!

@Chris: That's odd.  I too installed Windows 8 Pro x64 since launch and have been receiving/installing all windows updates including "Patch Tuesday" of every month. In fact I just checked my update history and they all show success -- none failed.  Can you find any specific KB # of any update that Microsoft had issued which included updates to Flash?  Also, I just checked with a friend and they too have the factory-shipped version of Flash still installed while being fully-updated.
I do see the following installed as well however the actual Flash player version was still the old one:

  • Is there any way to repair (re-install) the internal flash player for IE10?

    Hi eveyone,
    In short;
been running Win 8 Pro 64-bit for a couple of days now. Decided it was time to try out some software so installed  a trial of Fix It Utilities Professional (bad decision).
Installed it, played around for a bit and after a while I came up with the brilliant idea of running a registry clean/fix (insert facepalm) and some overall clean-up, just curious
    to seel the results.
Being stupid and feeling lazy, cleaned everything and didn't create a backup. Everything seemed fine afterwards. Only the internal flash player for IE 10 dissapeared
from the Add-ons list, hence the plugin itself stopped working.I've tried everything I think I've tried all the help options I could find on the Adobe site, but nothing seems to work (un-install tool,
delete files and folders, IE's security settings back to default, checked ActiveX status and permissons, reset all data and settings for IE10 etc) Something must have been modified in the registry
but I'm just unable to locate the problem. I also installed the latest beta for Chrome and that's working like a charm, no problems at all and the performance is great.
So this is the error I receive:
I'm kinda stuck now; the installer won't let me installl it because IE has a built in plugin, but it's not working in IE. It's not even visible in the add-on menu.
I know it was a pretty stupid thing to do, but I still hope someone here knows what to do. I;m kinda running out of ideas/options (not going to edit the registry myself, because you can
bet your money this will only have a negative outcome
    thanks in advance!
    edit
the last thing I can think of is that OpenOffice and Windows Live Messenger also use flash, if i'm correct. E.g. in the OpenOffice folder there is a flash.dll file. Could these files be of real
    influence?
ill copy all the current flash files and keys/values, seems the only way to clear thing ups a bit

No, you can ask questions, but you'll have to wait until someone shows up who knows the answer.
I do not have Windows 8 / IE10, so I don't know anything about it.
You may have to wait until US daytime; maybe someone from the Adobe staff knows the answer.  But you may be better off asking in a IE10 forum.
Meanwhile check if you can find any relevant information in http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/flashplayer/pdfs/flas h_player_windows8_admin_guide.pdf
