Flash Video not playing in Published file

I published the files. I then click the "view ouput" button.
I am able to see the video playing locally. However, when I copy
all the contents in the publish folder (.htm, .swf, .flv, etc.) to
my web server, the flash video does not play. The rest of the .swf
animation plays, just no video.
I do see a security message
I did choose progressive download and selected Flash version
as Flash Player 8.

  • Flash Video not playing in IE6

    I have a flash video embedded in my page that plays fine in
    FF and IE7, however when loading the page in IE6 the video is
    absent (the "red x" is in its place) and I receive the message
    "Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls
    on this page. As a result the page may not display correctly."
    Now, this happens in IE6 only on the default security
    settings. I have other sites that embed flash video and play fine
    in IE6 without warning...they weren't created with Dreamweaver CS3
    though.
    What is triggering this in IE 6 and can I remove some code
    from my page to prevent this?
    Thanks for any help to what is probably a noobish
    question.

    This would only be in local preview, right?

  • Inserted FLV not playing in published files

    I am trying to insert an FLV file but keep getting the following error when trying to publish:
    "The Flash video can not be loaded. The output may not be proper." When I try to run the output files the video player is blank.
    I am using Captivate 5.5.
    The FLV file plays correctly in preview mode and also plays correctly when I play it independantly using a media player.
    The file is located in the same folder as  the CPTX file and the output SWF and HTM outputs.
    I prefer to use the insert FLV option as it provides the playback controls which aren't available from the Insert Video option. It does play correctly using the Insert Video option.
    Please help!
    Alex

    I have discovered something really unexpected. I tried publishing to the EXE format which worked. If I then published in the Flash format it works! If I try to publish again it reverts to the old problem.
    Is this a bug?

  • Cap 4: Flash Videos not playing correctly

    I have flv files on 3 different slides of my project. When I publish the project, the 2nd and 3rd videos will play the audio but the video only displays the first frame from the first video.
    I published the flv files from Camtasia 7. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    If you think it could be a Firefox setting, try:
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
    A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
    Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
    Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
    Click the Create Profile button, choose a useful name (like May2014), and skip the option to use a non-default folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
    Does Flash work any differently in the new profile?
    When returning to the Profile Manager, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • Flash videos not playing correctly

    I posted some flash videos to some sites that get a
    tremendous amount of website traffic. We are getting feedback that
    the flash videos do not play consitently. Some people can see them
    just fine, others cannot see the videos at all, for others -
    particulary in Firefox, the video asks to download rather than
    play. We created the videos using Flash 9 - importing the FLV file
    and saving as an swf. We do not really see any type of pattern
    across browsers.
    Any advice?

    Not loading correctly in what way?

  • Solution: Flash Videos Not Playing - Win7 w/Comodo Firewall

    On a brand new machine, I added my desired desired programs. These included Comodo Firewall and Firefox with assorted plugins and addons (including Adobe Flash Player, NoScript, FlashBlock, AdBlock Plus).
    I soon discovered that videos would not play (Initially I could see some videos if they were using HTML5, but after some tweaks they were gone too). I tried MANY suggestions and tweaks found on various boards, nothing worked.
    I should have learned long ago that I need to document ALL CHANGES I make to my system - but old habits die hard. I tried many things, with no notes written. I didn't know what issue was preventing Firefox from playing videos. Nothing I tried worked. After no success, I reset Firefox (sad to see my custom settings go). When I restarted Firefox with only the Flash Player plugin active, I still couldn't play videos.
    More searches followed. I finally stumbled upon the solution on the Comodo site:
    http://forums.comodo.com/defense-sandbox-help-cis/defense-in-clean-pc-mode-is-blocking-flash-uploader-in-firefox-3612-t64628.0.html;msg459022#msg459022
    There I learned that Comodo Defense+ had blocked the Firefox Plugin Container (and Crash Reporter) from running.
    I used the following steps to fix the problem on my system (w/Comodo Firewall 7.0.317799.4142):
    1) Open Comodo Firewall (right-click the Comodo tray icon and select Open)
    2) Select Tasks -> Sandbox Tasks -> Open Advanced Settings
    3) In the "Advanced Settings" Window, select Defense+ -> HIPS -> Hips Rules
    4) Find the entry for Firefox.exe. Right-Click it and Select Edit.
    5) In the Comodo HIPS Rule for Firefox.exe window, select the "Access Rights" tab. Locate the "Run an executable" option. Click the modify link under the "Exclusions" column.
    6) In the "Run an Executable" window, select the "Blocked Files/Folder" tab. Select the plugincontainer.exe entry and right-click -> remove to delete it. Do the same for the crashreporter.exe entry.
    7) Click "OK" on each of the Comodo Firewall widows to save the changes and close the window.
    After I did this, videos would play. My next task will be to reinstall my favorite extensions and see if I can get Firefox to work as I liked it on my old PC.
    I hope this helps anyone with a similar setup.

    That was very good research. Happy Computing !

  • Flash Video Not Playing

    On this page:
    http://www.steigerfamily.net/2005/10/09/shark-attach-in-aruba/
    The flash video which is playing through a swf file is not
    playing. It used to play and all of sudden it stopped working for
    no reason. I doubled checked the mime settings and those are all
    set correctly.
    What could be the issue and how do I resolve it?
    thank you
    -b

    Here is the problem as I see it. Acording to the code this
    should be the location of the swf file:
    http://www.steigerfamily.net/2005/10/09/shark-attach-in-aruba/theshark.swf
    but on your server the file is actually here:
    http://www.steigerfamily.net/theshark.swf
    So I think you need to adjust the location of the swf file in
    your code for it to work. It seems like the page was moved and that
    caused it to stop working:
    <object
    classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="

    width="326" height="282" id="theshark" align="middle"></p>
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="movie" value="../../../..theshark.swf" />
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
    <embed src="../../../../theshark.swf" quality="high"
    bgcolor="#ffffff" width="326" height="282" name="theshark"

    type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    /><br />
    </object>
    Ps - not sure if ti should be:

  • Videos Not Playing After Publishing

    I am using Captivate 7 for Mac and uploading to the Litmos LMS platform.  In preview, my videos are playing just fine. When I publish to zip and uploading to Litmos, they don't play.  I get a little grey/white striped box making it look like it's loading, but nothing ever loads. This is super frustrating and I don't know the fix.  I'd love to hear ideas on how to make this work - or at least ways I can troubleshoot.

    Make sure your video files are placed in the same publish directory as the main SWF and that the link to these videos consists of nothing but the video filename.   The video filename should contain no spaces or punctuation characters and should ideally be all lower case.  Then after uploading to your LMS, make sure that the LMS administrator can confirm videos of this mime-type have been explicitly allowed on the LMS web server.

  • Websites not loading correctly and flash videos not playing

    When I visit sites like '''ign.com''' and '''joystiq.com''', they do not display correctly and Flash videos never load. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled twice to version 9.0.1 with no change. The second time I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to help make sure I got rid of all registry entries and residual files. Does anyone know if this is a recent bug? This started for me about noon yesterday...

  • Flash Video Not Playing in Captivate Project

    I've put in a flv video at the beginning of a Captivate Project. When I press F4 from within the project, it works fine - flash video slide works, transitions into Captivate build, etc.  However, when I publish the file as a Flash Project and then try and open the HTML link from within the published folder, I am told that there is a Connection Error.  The project proceeds, progresses until the Captivate portion of the project comes up and works fine from there.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Have you copied the FLV file into the same folder as the published SWF?  Captivate doesn't do this automatically for you.

  • Flash Videos not playing on N96

    Hi all, I discovered another problem with it, while trying to watch Youtube or Metacafe videos, I get an error message from Realplayer and video can´t start...
    Are you having this working or failing?
    Thanks in advance
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    REALplayer doesn't play FLV.
    Flash Player plays the FLV files.
    So either you access YouTube from the browser or you save .flv videos to the memory and access them through FIlE MANAGER

  • Flv videos not playing on html files - UNC/Mapped Drives

    Hi,
    We've discovered an issue with Dreamweaver CS3 recently (running on Windows 7 Pro, 32bit) in our school, where embedded flv video files wont run when the file's UNC path appears in the address bar, but will if this is changed to the local drive letter, in our case N. This obviously makes it a little difficult for teachers to mark students' work.
    I found a similar issue in another thread:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/688483
    which had not been answered. Are there any known solutions for this please? I have spent a while browsing, but have so far not come back with much. I've tried enabling and disabling 'Remove run from start menu' which was suggested, but this didn't make any difference.
    Thank you
    Regards
    Savos Aren

    Nathan,
    Your welcome, if that is the case, then can you try and insert the MultiSlide Video, you can insert the streaming video URL.
    You can add the server to you computer as network Drive and then browser to that location, once you do that, the options to add the Video as Streaming can be chose and your Vidoe would remain insync with main playbar, users can play and pause content that way.
    See if this can be implemented at your end.
    Thanks,
    Anjaneai

    This is the most reported problem this week. Here's an entire thread of solutions that may or may not work:
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/776670
    Looking through the thread, it seems like several different problems all manifesting themselves in the same way. Some people had to disable hardware acceleration in Flash, others had to delete their profile, and others yet just had to clear their cache... makes no sense.
