Flash videos suffering from intermittent "micro-freezes" in animation
Hello, I have been having issues lately with the latest version 12.0070 flash plugin causing flash based videos to have what I call "mirco freezes" or mircostutter, where a frame in the video freezes for a like a few milliseconds every so often. I ran DTC latency checker and got in the low 100's of microseconds of latency which is normal, even with no video playback. CPU usage is at 10% or less during video playback. I have done complete uninstall of flash, including the registery entry removal and folder removal, but even with fresh install, whether it be ActiveX version for IE or the plugin version for other browsers, still has the microstutter issues during video playback. I also upated all drivers and disabled hardware acceleration. For a final test, I disabled startup items with Msconfig, but I still get the microstutters in flash videos................So here is all I know to do is post my PC info and process monitor log file in the hopes that some bright computer programmer on here can see what is going on.......

Flash Video causes PC to randomly freeze

I really hope someone can help me with this problem.
I have recently built a new PC and found that watching flash video on websites can cause the PC to totally freeze, which requires a hard re-boot.
This does not happen immeadiatley I am watching a flash video, however if a web page has a number of multiple flash video streams, the PC will tend to freeze within 30 minutes.
This has occured on a number of websites in Firefox, IE and Safari. Here's what I've tried so far:
-Used different browsers (IE8, Safari, Firefox)
-Disabled hardware acceleration
-Changed IDE cables to windows hard drive
-If download a stream, changed the target drive
-Increased virtual memory to: 2,046MB (Initial) 4,092MB (Max)
-Run regcure to chack for registry issues

SteveHi, A couple of years ago I had ZA with a Router (not wireless) and it didn't work well with my XP and had to finally switch from ZA to another AV. What you might try also is to try just using the Modem without the Router and see if that is helpful. It may be that the ZA is too much for the Wireless Router.
Testing as you say would be a good idea and also running a scan for any Virus.
With all of the browsers having those problems, something aside from addons may be happening.

Importing a Flash Video created from a DVD file into a presentation
We have a DVD recording that we converted to various formats, including SWF, AVI and FLA/FLV. We want to use our LMS to track who has watched the video so we hoped to use a Capitvate Presentation and the SCORM feature. I created a new presentation and used the Insert Flash Video feature. The Flash object appears on the screen but it won't play neither after publishing nor will it preview in Browser. I can play it in a plain HTML file, so I'm pretty sure it's not a problem wth the FLV file itself. I also tried using the Insert Animation with the SWF version and it just hangs up Captivate and still nothing happens. Clearly I am missing some critical step for importing video and while I've scoured the forum, I just can't seem to find a solution. Any assistance would be appreciated.
What version of Captivate are you using ?

Publishing Flash Video directly from Encore

As I am new to this forum, I hope I found the best place for my question. I have rented a few GB's on a streaming server, becouse I plan to open a little website with dancing videos on it. I have Adobe premiere pro cs4 to cut my video and encore to build a dvd. Since the dvd menu is quite practical I would like to use encore to place exactly the same project on my servers. This is how far as i got: I changed the script file so that my flash files got uploaded to my streaming server. I loaded the index.html, flashdvd.swf and AuthoredContent.xml onto my webserver, but nothing works..... I know that my streamingserver uses Wowza software... could this be the problem? Do I need a Adobe Streaming Server???

Thank youOk, so I found a way to make it work in all the standards compliant browsers (except ie 8 if that is included now). For some reason even though I changed the source of the video in the component inspector to the following location:

Be sure to enable Make Movie Self-Contained.
Open the exported movie in QuickTime Player.
Export the movie to Flash from QuickTime Player.

I just installed CS5, so I would think I shouldn't be bothered with an older, problematic Flash Video Encoder. I don't think I should have to convert an MOV file to an FLV file using QuickTime Reader or anything else. Why doesn't it export correctly out of FCPro 7.0.2?oh well.

How to fix green screen on all flash videos
Getting a green screen with audio on all flash videos, ranging from EI 11, Google Chrome, and Steam. Running windows 8.1 with all recent drivers and updates. Have tried enabling/disabling hardware acceleration, using software rendering instead of gpu rendering. This has been happening for many months and I still have not been able to find a solution. Have viewed many forums and have tried many solutions with no success. Any help appreciated.

This "reboots" the iPod. If that does not help, try doing a Restore on the iPod in iTunes (from the iPod's Summary tab). This erases the iPod, re-installs its software, and sets it to default settings.
If that does not help, the cause is likely to be a hardware problem. -
Greetings, folks. I am having a terrible time watching Flash videos online (from Google vids, YouTube, Hulu, etc) on Firefox 3. I have to click on the "Play/Pause" button numerous times in rapid succession for it to register. When I click to adjust the volume, the volume bar pops up, only to disappear when I move to change it. Once the video starts, I can watch without interruption, but I have the aforementioned problem if I need to pause or restart. This problem started yesterday, after more than a year of enjoying the online streaming videos with this setup.
Any ideas? I have the newest version of Flash Player 10.

If you have bookmarks you want to keep, you'll want to save them before proceeding. I'm not sure if my next steps will delete those.
Delete the application from the Applications folder. Also delete the Mozilla folder in home>library as well as the Firefox and Mozilla folders in the home>Library>Application Support folder.

Can't get On2 Flash Video to show in Compressor 3
I've followed the steps below:
In the settings window, click the little icon with a + and a down triangle, then choose QuickTime Export Component. Then when the panel comes up, choose Flash VIdeo (FLV) from the Encoder Type drop menu. Then hit options to choose your options.
But the only FLV option that shows is Macromedia FLV exporter DEMO VERSION that was installed with MX
I bought the On2 FLV exporter but can't figure out why it doesn't show up in the "Quicktime Export Component" menu. However, It does show up in the "Use Quicktime Conversion" menu of Final Cut.

When you say, "With the recent QT update I had to go into preferences and check the enable flash." Are you referring to the QT preferences or the Flix Pro preferences? My version of Flix isn't standalone, only plugins placed in the QT folder. What's even more frustrating is that we're using the Flip4Mac plugin as well to export WMV and this is working just fine in all applications (QT, FCP, and Compressor). Flix only works in QT. -

Hi guys,
my question concerns flash video recording. I have created many animations in PowerPoint, and am going to record it using Captivate with synchronized audio to particular animation in PP. Unfortunately some problems have occurred:
1. The audio is very quiet
2. Animations that were triggered by me in PP are completely not synchronized with my voice.
3. Captivate creates many slides from one recording making it inconsistent.
4. The viewer of such file has ability to pause and continue the video what is not desired by me. I want to keep it locked like a lecture (pretty similar to Screen Capture but saving a flash file with layers, not pixel by pixel),
I'd be grateful for any help.

Flash player freeze a lot when playing Youtube videos fullscreen from Linux, but plays videos ok from Windows (CPU: AMD APU).
When playing video in default size it's OK (windows and Linux), but when setting video in full screen, on Linux there's troubles: video is hashed (freeze every 3 seconds).
CPU : AMD APU Athlon 5350.
OS : Linux Mint 17 (64 bits).
Browser: Firefox v31 (on Linux and Windows 7).
Linux AMD video driver : Catalyst v14.4 (amd-catalyst-14-4-rev2-linux-x86-x86-64-may6.zip)

Are you using any ad-block in FF(Firefox) or any pop up blocker software installed? I can't imagine updating to FP version 10 alone would cause this.
Is this happening only on the BBC website? Does what you watch come thru the BBC website or youtube directly?
We have your brother's computer to use to determine what is going on. If he is able to see the BBC website and what you
are having problems with, then we can rule out the website.
Other browser add ons, anti-virus programs, etc. affect the browser. Even tho, no problem with vs 9. Sometimes updates
can have an affect, even with Windows as we all know:-)

Firefox hangs when i try to play flash videos from any site but when i run firefox as administrator it works fine. (but Google Chrome, Opera & I.E9 Plays videos without running as administrator.) I am using Windows 7 & Firefox 7.0.1. Please help.A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
