  • Flash won't download videos on Vista

Ok, here's my deal... unlike a lot of other people (seemingly) I CAN download flash on my 32-bit widows vista home premium programmed computer.  However, whenever there's a flash video posted on the net somewhere, it doesn't show up... there's just a blank spot.  I right click and get "Movie Not Loaded/About Adobe flash player 10/ Download this video to RealPlayer".
Can someone PLEASE help me with this.  I've tried a million different things, including running flash as administrator.  Nothing is working and it seems that 90% of the web has gone to flash.
    Thanks!

    No one can help me????

  • Adobe flash won't download without my first closing firefox, which defeats the objective of trying to upload it to work with firefox - why?

I can open BBC in Firefox and then when I try to play a programme it won't let me do so without Adobe Flash 11, which I already have in my programmes. However, it doens't agree so I need to download this programme but it won't let me complete the process, saying it can only do so if I close FireFox, which also means I can't completely the process!
Earlier I have uploaded Google Chrome so I can install this programme (hence why I know I have the latest version). I have also tried to do this with Explore but it appears that there is an adware browser there called Snap.do, which arrived via Skype impersonating a new video download. I have done everything possible to clear it but suspect this is causing the system problems but it is still showing up.
However, I did keep getting a message about Shock wave flash earlier and found an instruction on the internet that I should disable this and also Java. I've now reuploaded the latter. But I cannot find the Mozilla support that gave me the option to disable Flash player so as to try enabling it.
PLEASE HELP! My computer is going crazy and I am too.
    Much appreciated.
    Miranda

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

  • Flash won't download into IE - fine w/Firefox

I'm very frustrated by not being able to download and install
the latest version of Flash Web Player when using IE
(6.0.2900.2180, sp2), Windows XP Pro. The current version of Flash,
from IE, is 7,0,19,0). I have admin rights, no pop-up-blocker
indicator appears, but ... no Flash update either. I've closed IE,
rebooted, shut off Norton Internet Security, etc. No help.
When I use Firefox, I've got the latest version of the Flash
Player. Unfortunately, only IE can be used to access a client's
    files - so I'm stuck.
    Any advice?
    TIA!

  • Adobe flash won't download because I forst have to close Mozilla Firefox How do I do that

when I go to Comcast and try to watch any video it says that I must install Adobe Flash Player first. so I try and get thru all the screens except the last....which says: The installer will automatically continue when the conflicting applications are closed: Mozilla Firefox.
Well closing it shuts everything off because I am using it to run my site. This is sort of " Catch 22 " . Strange--- when I go to MSN and then bring up comcast I can view the videos. But I use Morningstat and other sites like MSM.com and videos are blocket there also with the same must download Adobe Flashplayer and I get blocked by that same screen. So how do I block you and keep you on so I can download this Adobe Flashplayer? I am not a computer genius. [email protected]

1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />

  • Help me!  Flash won't download! :(

Hello! Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.
I have not had Flash in about 4 months and so my internet does next to nothing I want it to...
I try every week, sometimes several times, to fix this but it never works!
I download it, say yes to things, blah blah blah, then it finishes, I restart my computer, go to a website and BAM. You need to download Flash to see this. I thought I just did? Guess not. *tries again* Oops, still didn't work.
Why doesn't it work? Do I have a virus that is eating my Flash Player or something? I've been trying and trying but I can't seem to fix this. I'm so upset...ugh...my computer is just a paperweight and source of sadness/stress right now, so I'd appreciate some help...
I use firefox if thats helpful at all

"Download successful" means it downloaded. It DOESN'T by any means it "installed". Bringing the gorceries in the house doesn't make dinner.
You NEED to run the installer.
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save one or both to your downloads folder and close your browser (or better yet, reboot). THEN run the installer(s) from your downloads folder.

  • Flash player for safari won't download

Flash Player for Safari 7.04 won't download. It's not an antivirus issue because it's turned off, everything is enabled.

    Chris,
My problem was that while the installer downloaded, the installation process always crapped out and gave me this error message: "Error: Unable to proceed with the installation". Tried everything and none of it worked. I COULD download v12 of Flash, but noticed that it used a different style of installer that has a simpler, "chunkier" progress bar and overall look, and doesn't ask about whether Flash should check for updates automatically until AFTER the install was done (different from the standard v14 installer, which has a skinnier progress bar and prompts you about auto updates before most of the installation happens).
Just saw your post, downloaded the installer from the macromedia link you provided, and it installed fine! Superfast. Done and done.
In doing so, however, I noticed that the alt version of the v14 Flash installer from your link also has the same simpler, chunkier type of installer as v12. is there a know problem with the standard (skinny progress bar) version of the installer and Mavericks? This has happened before, and I'm now just realizing that the installs only ever work with the "alt" style of installer.
    a) Is Adobe aware of this problem? are they working to make a fix so that i don't have to pull my hair out everytime there's a new security update for Flash?
    b) Would you please consider posting your solution in a more obvious place? I'm betting there are a lot of other Mac users having this issue, but because Adobe help can be sort of a byzantine mess (not you, obviously, but the system itself) I'm betting there are a ton of Mac users that are just giving up, like I almost did. Making this issue known, and positing the alt download will save many people many hours of grief.
    Thanks for posting your solution!
    Cheers,
    M
FYI: I'm on a MacBook Pro with Retina (original) running 10.9.3. I have a 750 GB SSD hard drive, 16 GB of RAM, and a 2.7 GHz Core i7 processor.

I am told via message on my desktop that I need flash player but it won't download.  What do i do?

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking the appropriate one (or more) of the following links.

Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    Flash Player (Mac OS X)

  • Downloads such as adobe flash update won't download even when anti virus is disabled. The download box appears and runs but doesn't show anything.

Any updates or downloads won't download in Firefox. The download box appears, goes thru the motions but doesn't park anything in the file. I usually have to quite Mozilla, use Explorer for the download, such as Go to Meeting, or Adobe updates. Can't download anything with Firefox from your browser.

I am having the same issue -- IE7, XP SP3... Flash Player
will not download or install, but will download and install for
Netscape. Must be an IE7 issue, but I can't find a solution. If you
find something out, it would be freat!

A quick search seems to infer that the rescue email field is optional, so try it without entering anything.
    Otherwise:
if you have a Gmail email you can add or remove the full stops in it, so for example
[email protected] is the same as [email protected] as well as [email protected]
this would give you a second email for this setup.
Apple is basically asking you for a backup email account incase anything goes wrong.
If you do not have the option via Gmail or similar maybe use a friends or family members email, after asking them of course, just to get you past the extra security.
You are not going to be able to purchase any items until you update with the additional security that iTunes now needs, and the 2nd email is not going to stop you using your usual email that you use to log into your iTunes account.

You really don't need to do "secure Empty Trash." Just empty the Trash. If you don't have permission to access some items that means you shouldn't be trying to delete them or you are trying to delete a file you don't own.
If your external drive is used only on your Mac, then it should not be formatted ExFAT. It should be prepared as follows:
    Drive Partition and Format
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
Try restarting the computer. Then again try to Empty the Trash. Do you still get the error? What are you trying to delete?
