Flat File to DB then back to Flat File
I need to compare the contents of a flat file with two columns in a db table. Then do an insert into the db if there is a difference between the two and the do a select of the latest data on the db then write it to a file.
I need help urgently, thats why i joined this forum today.

I got a larger monitor and flat screen (19 inch). Since changing I am not getting a full screen view of home page. I changed the page options to compact view and then back, but no change. I've got about 2 inches of white on each side of the home page view.
When going to a website the picture was small - tried changing the Zoom size , tried Zoom Reset - the text did change size but the layout distorts - found under View - Zoom - Zoom Text Only was checked --- Removed this check mark and the website returned to normal size and Zoom worked normally again. I am 99.9999% sure I did NOT check this myself and there is no one else on the computer to cause it. Maybe this will help.

i save my photos to camera roll. then back up but can't see it on icloud. why? we just lost 300 photos on my other iphone because we do not get proper help. that's why i need to learn now.
You can't view your back up files at icloud.com.
You can't view your camera roll and you can't view your Photo Stream files at icloud.com.
The icloud back up plan allows you to "restore" your iOS device from the files you backed up at icloud.com. -
So today my iPhone decides to go into recovery mode on me randomly so I plugged it into my Macbook right away, but it wasn't showing up in iTunes so I did a quick internet search as to why that could be. On the Mac support forum I found instructions stating I should make sure I had the current verison of iTunes on my computer, turns out I had been putting off an Update because I didn't like waiting for it to restart n so forth. So I clicked my boucning update friend at the bottom of my screen and it started checking for updates, the bar got maybe a quarter of the way up and then stopped moving all together, I thought something was wrong so I clicked cancel and tried again. The same thing happened so I clicked cancel and went back to the Internet to find more help on my problems. I found yet another forum saying this solution was simple, restart the computer. So i clicked my little apple at the top and pressed restart and that has been the last thing I got to do on my computer because when it restarted it got past the White Apple logo screen and went on to a Blue screen which quickly turned a darker shade and had the loading circle, then back to the previous blue screen, then right back to the darker one. This process it repeated several times and I can't for the life of me figure out what to do. Please someone have a simple answer to this that I haven't Already tried, I have already tried safe mode and it just doesn't work for me. Please please help I need my computer for class it has all my notes and a paper I was doing, not to mention my iphone is still in recovery mode, even when I can get to another computer to fix that I need all the back up files off of my macbook to restore it to what I know it as and not default.

Hi, I upgraded my girlfriend's iPad 2 using my iMac, however, her iPad was sync with her PC. Although I've made backup earlier, when I restore from backup the apps doesn't sync back, neither her documents on pages. How can I put then back to her iPad?
The backup saves many settings, but it copies photos and other files from the computer back to the iPad after IOS5 wipes the disk. Plugging it into her computer will re-sync it.

I backed up my entire hard-drive of my macbook pro - just prior to installing osx mountain lion.
I put everything into a folder on my desktop - then backed it up onto an external drive. Once this was done - i deleted the folder off my desktop - and following this - things started to go all weird...pages hanging, the coloured 'wheel of death' appeared for ages. So i had to employ a 'hard-boot' restart - as i had not other options.
I'm pretty sure i made copies of of files/apps/folders etc - however not so sure now as i cant even start up my laptop!!!
Can somebosy please help me urgently??!!!Got the exact same problem, and I also did this operation many times before, from 500Gb to 750Gb, and then from 750Gb to 1 Gb. Not My HD got a little such complaining about bad sectors when in windows bootcamp, but still runs fine though.
So I bought a new 1Gb drive exactly same drive as the one thats getting sick. I did the clone thing, with super duper, CCC, DU, but no matter it will not boot when i move the new drive inside the macbook…….**** thing exuse me, but wasted so much time.
Now I get this strange feeling that something must have changed in the macbook itself. Just wondering if this could be a EFI "mac bios" prevention thing, they made just to sell more new computers, when you can't improve or fix your old one.
If so, then its pretty scary. If not then I simply can't figure out why this suddenly becomes a problem for so many people, as I see so many posts about this!!

Converting from spreadshet string to array and then back to spreadsheet string
My questions is; why is the Spreadsheet string to array function creating more data than the original string had when you change the array back into a spreadsheet string. Im trying to analyze a comma delimited file using array functions since my column and row size is constant, but my data varies. Thus my reason for not using string parsing functions which would get more involved and difficult. So, however, after i convert to a 2D array of data from the comma delimited file I read from, and then I convert back to string using the Array to Spreadsheet String, I get added columns to the file, which prevents another program from receiving these files. Also, the data which I am reading is not all contiguous, it has gaps in some places for empty data. Looking at the file compared to the original after it has gone from string to array and then back to string again, looks almost identical except for the file size which got larger by 400 bytes and where the original file has empty spaces, the new file has a lot of commas added. Any idea?
CharlesThe result you get is normal when the spreadsheet string contains rows of uneven length. Since the array rows have the same number of elements, nil values are added during the coonversion. And of course, the back to string conversion keep those added values in the string, with the associated commas.
example : 3 x 3 array
1,2,3
4
5,6,7
is converted into
1 2 3
4 0 0
5 6 7
then back to
1,2,3
4,0,0
5,6,7

Frustratingly, since I upgraded to Yosemite 10.10, I too am having the worst problems with WiFi dropping out. I've never had this problem before on my iMac 27-inch mid 2011 model. Turning WiFi off and then back on again sometimes works. Help please. I've already tried a lot of your suggested fixes, but without success. Why hasn't Apple Fixed this?
Please test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
Step 1
Take the applicable steps in this support article. The Wireless Diagnostics program generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
Step 2
Disconnect all USB 3 devices. If you don't know which are USB 3, disconnect all USB devices except keyboard and mouse.
Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. If you find that Wi-Fi works better with Bluetooth disabled, you should use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. Your router may not support it; in that case, you need a new router.
Step 4
Open the Energy Saver pane in System Preferences and unlock the settings, if necessary. Select the Power Adapter tab, if there is one. Uncheck the box marked
Wake for Wi-Fi network access
if it's checked.
Step 5
Open the Network pane in System Preferences and make a note of your settings in the Wi-Fi service. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the various tabs in the preference pane. If the preference pane is locked, unlock it by clicking the padlock icon and entering your administrator password. Delete Wi-Fi from the service list on the left by selecting it and clicking the minus-sign button at the bottom. Then recreate the service by clicking the plus-sign button and following the prompts.
Step 6
In the Wi-Fi settings, select
Advanced... ▹ TCP/IP ▹ Configure IPv6: Link-local
Click OK and then Apply.
Step 7
Reset the System Management Controller.
Step 8
Reset the PRAM.
Step 9
Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
Step 10
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center. -
Repeating mouse freeze followed by blue screen then back to normal
Hi guys, if anyone can help with this, I'd really appreciate it... it's really driving me nuts! Every few minutes, my mouse freezes, the screen then goes totally blue for a 10-20 secs. The screen then goes back to normal for a second or two then back to a transparent blue screen (showing my desktop etc. behind it) for another 10-20 secs then back to normal after maybe one or two more flashes of blue screen. It's got so bad that I can't use the computer any more.
It's a G4 (2x1.25Ghz) with mirrored doors running 10.3.9 with 1GB of RAM

Depends on how much memory, what you are doing, whether you have a driver issue, or maybe a corrupt preference, font, directory.
Unlikely it was a parity error, but if it was a kernel panic, it would not leave it up to your imagination, it would be in clear black and white.
You could run your Apple Hardware Test; Disk Warrior (or just Apple's if you haven't yet bought DW).
Backup and boot from another drive to run repairs.
I would be more concerned over lack of a UPS and a power issue/outage or 'brownout.' -
Hi I have a year old Macbook pro. I was using a miniport to connect it to the TV via HDM cable. It was working fine but I have used it for a couple of months kept it in a drawer and now it doesnt work. When connected to the TV the screen on the mac goes blue as though there is some signal then back to original screen but the TV doesnt show what's on the laptop. Please any suggestions, thanks??

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- Try on another computer

Check Box functionally lost when visiblity is turned off then back on
Please pardon my attempt to ask a coherent question for I am new to Oracle Forms!
I have created a canvas using the layout wizard against an Oracle table. I needed to provide the means to select mulitple records for DELETION; so, I created a check box item beside the database items to allow the ability to select records to delete. I also allow the user to query this table in query mode against a couple of columns to help isolate records to be deleted. So far, I have gotten the expected functionality from the check box on the initial query of this form.
Now, heres my problem!
When I try to reduce the query result while in "ENTER_QUERY" (F7) mode, I intentionally make my check box item invisible. The thought being "I should not allow users opportunity select records for deletion while in the process of querying the table to fetch the records you will be deleting from!" Once I press F8 to execute the my query, I issue the following statements in my KEY-EXEQRY trigger:

At thsi point, the functionally of the check box no longer works!
I get a forms error "(FRM-40200) Field is protected against update."
I look in the Property Palette under the Physical section and the Visible attribute is set to "Yes"!
Can someone tell me why turning the visible attribute "OFF*" and then back "*ON*" caused the lost functionity?*
What must I do to get this functionally back without abandoning this design premise?+
Is there some other attribute settings I must reset in addition to the two set_item_property issued above?+
