Flex SDK version 4.5.1 upgrade issue

I recently upgraded from Flex SDK version 4.1.0.16076 to  4.5.1 and this upgrade broke one of the key functionalities in my  application.
Wherever the s:DataGroup itemRenderer's  s:RichText textFlow has <img> element, it throws the following  error in debug Flash player:
TypeError: Error #2007: Parameter child must be  non-null.

If I downgrade to 4.1.0.16076, the issue goes  away!
Has anyone seen this issue? Any idea on how to fix  it? Please help!

I created a new simple Flex project to recreate the  issue but I'm unable to reproduce the error condition.
Is there any other way I can provide the needed  information? Can you point me to what you refer to as sample test case, so that  I can provide you the info in appropriate form.

  • ScriptUI and Flex SDK version

    Hello,
what is the last Flex SDK version supported by ScriptUI?
It seems I'm having troubles loading a swf made with Flex 4.5 (Flash project, not AIR).
I've been told that 3.6 is the latest, usable SDK - yet I'm afraid it could be a permission issue (the error says: "Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: /Volumes/Macintosh HD/DEVELOPER/myExtension/GUI_Test/resources/framework_4.5.0.20967.swf")
    Thanks in advance

I confirm that with Flex SDK 3.6 the problem disappears - following versions are not supported (alas). You can download it here.

  • CF8 Flex SDK Version and Update

I'm new to Flex so this is probably a basic question. When
creating a new Flex project I have an option, under the Flex SDK
version (properties of the particular project) to select either a
specific SDK or the server's SDK. Now I have CF8 installed as my
application server. Is there a way to tell what version of the Flex
SDK is installed with CF8? If it's an older version, or when Flex 3
SDK is finalized, how do I go about "upgrading" the Flex SDK in the
    CF8 install?

correct me if i am wrong, but i do not think ANY flex sdk is
    installed
    with cf8...

  • Upgraded to Mac OSX Lion, have an issue with Flash Builder 4.5.1 and Flex SDK 3.2

Howdy, I upgraded my mac yesterday to 10.7, and have run into an interesting problem.
I was using Flex Builder 3 before, using Flex SDK 3.2. After upgrading, I found that Flex Builder 3 is not compatible with Lion anymore, so I had to upgrade to Flash Builder 4.5.
This is fine, I just figured I would add the Flex 3.2 sdk, which I did. However, after adding my project to the workbench for Flash Builder 4.5, I see the following error:
    http://cl.ly/3J3W0E22402G2I1L2U1Q
However, as far as I can tell, the following two screenshots mean I have installed the Flex 3.2 sdk:
    http://cl.ly/1S0l1m2u1Z0z053Y3U29
    http://cl.ly/3c3k2B161K1d1y2H332P
Does anyone know if this is even possible to do? I need to get back into development ASAP. If I can get Flex 3.2 SDK working in this environment, I am pretty sure I will be good to go.
    Thanks so much!

  • OpenWithDefaultApplication in flex sdk 3.5.0.12683 and ReferenceError: Error #1069:

I  am trying to use openWithDefaultApplication to open the files in default application for the desktop application developed using AIR.
    Development environment is as follows
    - Flex builder 3.0 eclipse plugin .
    - Flex SDK version is 3.5.0.12683.
    - AIR 2.0 sdk, I have used instruction specified at  http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/air/2/releasenotes_developers.html#h, to overlay AIR2.0 sdk  with Flex 3.5.0.12683. SDK.
I get the following error when openWithDefaultApplication is executed
ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property openWithDefaultApplication not found on flash.filesystem.File and there is no default value.

I tried to trace/alert the flex and air runtime verions and I get following  details, 3.5.0.12683 for Flex SDK and  2.5.0.16600 for AIR.
The same code works fine when I use the Flash Builder4 with Flex 3.5 sdk.
Any idea what is going wrong here?

    Hi Swapnil,
1)Try Overlaying SDK to 2.0 like:
a)Download the AIR SDK 2.0 zip
                     b)and paste it at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flex Builder 3\sdks\3.2.0 and
c)extract it.Check whether this SDK selected in Flex Compiler.
    2) Make sure that you have changed the AIR version number in descripter file (-app.xml) for example <application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.5"> here have to change 1.5 to 2.0.
    3) In the Flex Compiler panel check that which Flex SDK (3.5) has been selected. Might it different from defaultly selected.
In Flex Builder you can check in two ways :
              a)Window>Preferences>Flex>Installed SDKs(Default)>Check SDK selected.
b)Select Project folder in Navigator Panel and Mouse Right click >properties>Flex Compiler>Check SDK selected.
4)Make sure that the opening files have accessibility with this function.

  • Flex RSL issue with SDK version change?

    Hi Friends!
I am facing very crucial common problem when using Flex RSL feature.
Problem:  My Custom component library is compiled with Flex 3.0 and more than 50 applications are using it. Now some of our new applications needs to use the features from Flex 3.2 SDK(like increased control width and height) and those controls should also be in same library.
So, the library should be common for application which are using 3.0 as well as 3.2.
    My requirement is
"Without recompiling all Flex 3.0 applications, I need to run both Flex 3.0 and 3.2 applications using library compiled in Flex 3.2"
now I am getting some errors like,
Error #1063: Argument count mismatch on mx.core::CrossDomainRSLItem()  -- from systemmanager
         VerifyError: Error #1053 -- mx.managers.SystemManagerProxy.
         ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable _*_mx_managers_SystemManager
Is it possible to win this?
I hope flex is having backward compatibility.
    Please help me on this.
    Thanks,
    Ananth.

The only cross-version compatibility is called the Marshall Plan.  It is described on the open source wiki and on my blog.

  • Issue with AdvancedDataGrid in Flex SDK 3.3

    Hello Forum,
I downloaded and installed Flex SDK 3.3. Once I pointed my environment to the SDK 3.3, compiler complained that it can’t find AdvancedDataGrid component in the path. After some investigation, I was able to fix this issue by downloading Flex 3.3 Data Visualization Components from http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/flexdownloads/. Then I had to unzip downloaded file into the /sdk_3.3.0_install_dir/
I don't think I had to go through this in my previous installations - 3.2 and 3.1. Does anyone know the reason for this two step download and installation?
Also, I would like to use a new Vector class in my future development, does anyone know what version of  SDK provides it?
    Much Appreciated,
    Mike

If I'm not wrong Vector is a part of Flash Player 10, so it's no related to the SDK, and also in Flex Builder you can access all the new classes that are available in FP 10 but you don't get autocompletion for those new clases if I'm not wrong.

  • Flex SDK 3.2 : Unmarshalling issue : SOAP objects are not deserialized completely

    Hi everybody !
I have a strange problem with SOAP deserialization in flex 3.2, and I thought this forum will be the best place to get answers ...
When I try to fetch some objects (like the ones shown below), the XMLDecoder does not deserialize all the properties.
In this case, it stops at the property named "rating". After it, all other data are lost.
I've used the flex builder debugger to locate the problem, and this lead me to the following method in the XMLDecoder class :
    getApplicableValues(parent:*, valueElements:XMLList, name:QName,context:DecodingContext, maxOccurs:uint):XMLList:
State of the variables, before the "bug" :
The strange behavior appears after the five first properties had been deserialized correctly.
At this step : startIndex = 5, and the next property to unmarshall is "user" (according to the MExpertNotes object mapping)
the valueElement's list contains the following elements :
to simplify the notation, I will write only the position in the list and the xml tag name (see the complete soap response for more details at the end of this post)
    (position, fieldName)
(0, ID) -> inherited from MotocycletteObjectImpl
    (1,comment)
(2, noteValidation) (a Bean, never returned by our service -> set to null)
    (3,noteValidationID)
    (4,rating)
    (5,timeOfCreation) -> inherited from MotocycletteObjectImpl
(6,user) (a Bean, never returned by our service -> set to null)
(7,userExpert) (a Bean, never returned by our service -> set to null)
    (8,userExpertID)
    (9,userID)
    (10,version) -> inherited from MotocycletteObjectImpl
when it enters the for loop, at the first iteration the valueElements[i].name is equals to "timeOfCreation" and the name parameter is equal to "user".
    so this test : if (name == null || valueElements[i].name() == name
    || ((name.uri == "" || name.uri == null)
    && name.localName == valueElements[i].name().localName))
returns false. The skipAhead variable is set to false (and i don't understand why). It stops iterating over the valueElementList, and so, skips all other properties.
Is this a bug ? Does a workaround exists ?
This affects many of our objects.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Flex SDK and AIR runtime version in mobile

    Hi, guys.
I'm trying to make my first Flex mobile app.
I'm a little confused about the relationship between Flex SDK and AIR  runtime versions for mobile development.
In the "Developing Mobile Applications with ADOBE FLEX 4.6 and ADOBE FLASH BUILDER 4.6" pdf document, it says:
    "AIR requirements
Flex mobile projects and ActionScript mobile projects require AIR 2.6 or a higher version. You can run mobile projects on physical devices that support AIR 2.6 or a higher version of AIR.
You can install AIR 2.6 or a higher version only on supported Android devices that run Android 2.2 or a higher version. For the complete list of supported Android devices, see Certified Devices. Also, review the minimum system requirements to run Adobe AIR on Android devices at Mobile System Requirements.
Note: If you do not have a device that supports AIR 2.6 or a higher version of AIR, you can use Flash Builder to launch and debug mobile applications on the desktop."
So, I go and check the Certified devices in http://www.adobe.com/devnet-apps/flashruntimes/certified-devices.html and find that the minimun FLASH PLAYER version accepted by ALL devices is FP 10.1
    1. Does this mean that if I want to release an app to target ALL mobile devices, then I can only use Flex 4.5?
    2. Do support for Flash Player mean the same than support for Adobe AIR? Or the application will prompt the user to install whatever version of the AIR runtime and all of them would be supported by the device, even in the FLASH PLAYER support is for a lesser version?
    Thanks!

Thanks for your help, Flex harUI,
The first impression that comes to mind is that FP version is indeed only for the web browser plugin. Then, why does the official Flex 4.6 mobile development documentation have a link to that page that only speaks about the supported FP version in mobiles under the title "AIR requirements"??
This makes it way too confusing.
Do you know whether there is something like an equivalent matrix/list of mobile devices with their supported AIR runtime versions?  I went a great deal in trying to keep my original app under 400kb... I didn't know that in the end it would end up weighing 9.5Mb... :S
    Thanks again,

Just upgraded to OSX 10.9 mavericks on macbook pro mid 2011 version. Having a big issue here that whenever my mac comes back from sleep, i.e after I open the lid, the screen flickers and there is an error of Finder not opening properly. Any fix to this?

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

  • Flex SDK and AIR Runtime issue

    Hello,
    Please somebody answer my Question.i.e,
For Instance, I downloaded an Application(AIR application) which is developed with Flex SDK 3.0 and AIR Runtime version 2.5. But I have AIR Runtime version 2.0 installed in my machine. What will happen if i install the application? whether it will be installed completely or Any warning will be shown up regarding the AIR Runtime discrepancies? or will the application be obsolete even after it's successful installation?
    Did anyone experience it?
    Regards,
    venks.
