Hello,
The 'Folio builder' panel of InDesign kindly invited me to upgrade but unfortunalately, it now freezes InDesign as soon as I click on it.

  • Help with blank folio builder panel in InDesign CS6?

Hello. I am having the same peoblem that was discussed on February 7th regarding a blank folio builder screen. Mine looks exactly like the image posted during that thread (i.e., no actionable items in the panel... not even hints just empty. This occured as soon as I installed the 8.0.1 unpdate of 7 February.
    1. Following the suggestions in the previous thread I uninstalled InDesign using the Adobe cleaner program. I reinstalled InDesign from the Adobe Application Mamager (as I am a Creative Cloud member) and once installed, ran the updates from within InDesign (2.0.6) and reset the preferences. Over the past day I have repeated the cleaner/uninstall/reinstall/update/clear preferences 3 more times. The updates had been about 72MB. Today after loading InDesign I checked for updates and it showed an 8.0.1 update of about 43MB. I tried that. Same results. I'm running the software on a 15" MacBook Pro with up to date OS X software. I have also run the current DPS updates.
    Help!

Go to help Menu in InDesign and click on Update. Install DPS Tools. If that does not help, go to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/ and install DPS Tools for InDesign CS6.

  • Folio builder update issue

Was prompted to update folio builder on my Windows 7 PC running InDesign CS5.5. Did so, restarted, launched InDesign and once again was prompted to access folio builder update. Tried it again, same result.
Tried updating both folio producer and folio builder, got the same results.
Still getting the prompt "A newer version of Folio Builder is available for download."
Any ideas on steps to rectify?
    Thx

I found a solution to my problem, which is kind of similar.  Hopefully this can help others who get the update folio builder request, even when its been updated.
I found Indesign CS6 + Folio Builder has some type of glitch on my Windows 7 machine.  If the folio builder window is open when I open Indesign, it will close as soon as Indesign starts up.  When I open the Folio Builder panel it will always ask me to update the folio builder, even though it is fully updated.
The solution for me, is to make sure the folio builder panel is always closed when I close down Indesign.  In this way when Indesign is opened, the folio builder panel does not open automatically.  I then wait for a few seconds after Indesign has fully opened.  Once it's fully open and ready to go, I open the folio builder panel and viola the folio builder panel opens correctly and I'm signed in.

  • Folio Builder update damaged

I'm having trouble installing the Folio Building update. The message says "Install" is damage and can't be opened. You should eject the disk image.

Lion did get GateKeeper with the 10.7.5 update: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5290
The recommendation made by Bob (#4) is correct.

  • Cant log into folio builder with in InDesign

I am logged into Adobe and the DPS site no problems but to log into it in the folio builder pannel in InDesign I get this message
    Sign In has failed.
    [svr.Unknown]
If i put in the wrong address then I get a messge that the iser ID and password dont match
    What is the deal?

I have found a solution and I am posting it here because I had trouble finding it...
    Originally I downloaded
    AdobeDigitalPublishing-All.zip
and had all the correct ids but it did not work. I found a thread where someone suggested that the person go to another place here http://help.adobe.com/en_US/digitalpubsuite/using/WS67cb9e293e2f1f60-21ba9a4512e5e5e0b8d-7 ffe.html and download
Folio Producer tools for InDesign CS5
Folio Builder panel for InDesign CS5
once I did both of those I am now up and running.
When I downloaded All.zip I ran it and I had the folio panel but couldnt get on. Then when I downloaded the tools first it took away the folio builder panel from indesign but when I added the second one clearly named Folio Builder Panel logically my panel was back the only difference was now I could sign in instantly. I noticed my shortcut to the viewer that had installed automatically on my desktop was gone but it was still in my start menu.
It would seem the all.zip would have everything but it clearly didnt and it only had one setup.exe file and I ran it.
    Hope this helps!

  • I cannot get folio builder to work in CS6 InDesign.

I cannot get folio builder to work in InDesign. I have updated InDesign and uploaded a new all language CS6 plugin for InDesign apps but still the program says I don't have the necessary files and redirects me to the plugins I already downloaded. I am not certain what is wrong.

DPS questions should be asked in the DPS forum. I've moved your question there.

  • Folio Builder Updates

In CS6, Folio Builder says to run Updates, but when I do, everything is already up-to-date. What else can I check to get it working?

Check if Updates are enabled or not for InDesign CS6 under Help. If “Updates” is grayed out then you need to enable them on this machine.
    To enable updates: Navigate to
    (Mac) “<Startup Disk>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/”
    (WIN) “C:\Program files\common files\adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0\”, If in case it’s InDesign (64 bit), then "C:\Program files(x86)\common files\adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0\"
Open “AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat” file in TextEditor or Notepad and change <Suppressed>1</Suppressed> to <Suppressed>0</Suppressed>, or create one if it’s not there with below text and save it as AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat to above location.
         <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
             <Preferences>
                   <Suppressed>0</Suppressed>
             </Preferences>
    Try installing update again.

  • Problems installing digital publishing update for Indesign CS6

    Hello,
I am having some problems installing update I need for Indesign CS6. I'm working on an interactive pdf and need to update my version of cs6 to use the digital publishing suite. Upon attempts to use the 'folio builder' I am asked to update and go to 'help' 'updates'. The Adobe Patch installer begins to load then immediately crashes. I have tried installing the publishing update from adobe licensing but the same problem happens when I attempt to install the file using the patch installer.
I'm using CS6 version 8.0, can anyone help?
    Thanks

JulianLister I would recommend reviewing your installation logs to determine the cause of your current difficulties.  You can find information on how to locate and interpret your installation log files at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.
Please feel free to post any specific error messages you are receiving to this discussion thread if you have any questions.

  • Folio Builder update issues

I have a Mac--trying to use Folio Builder and every time it says I need to update, so I do, and it reflects an update, but then I try to open the Folio Builder panel and it says yet again that I need to update. Please help!

After several hours (4+) trying every combination described here and elsewhere, what ultimately worked was uninstalling ALL Adobe software and starting from scratch.
    1.  Uninstall any and all Adobe software:
    Adobe AIR
    Adobe Flash
    DPS App Builder
    Adobe Creative Cloud
    Adobe InDesign
    Adobe Photoshop
    Adobe Illustrator
    Previous downloads of installers
    Etc.
    2.  Clear all system and user caches, preferences, bootcaches, kextcache, etc.and reboot (whether necessary or not; just for good measure).
    3.  Run the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to confirm everything was removed.
    4.  Reboot (whether necessary or not; just for good measure).
    5.  Confirm no Adobe affiliated process is running in the Activity Monitor (or Task/Process Viewer in Windows).
    6.  Download a new clean installer for Adobe Creative Cloud.
    7.  Cross fingers.
    8.  Install Adobe InDesign.
    9.  Reboot (again, just because).
    10.  Install Adobe InDesign updates (which should download the necessary DPS tools too).
After all this, the Folio Builder finally appeared and began working again for my computer.

  • I'm missing Folio Builder Panel in Indesign CC

I just downloaded InDesign CC, installed DPS tools but don't have Folio Overlays or Folio Builder panels under Windows in InDesign.  I am using inDesign CC on a MacBook Pro.  I have it all working in CS6 but not CC.  Is there something that I'm missing? bv

As far as I remember I had the same issue when i let an old version of CS6 on my computer (was a PC). I had to clean everything related to Adobe to then install all CC, and then that worked. Not surs that may be the same problem for Mac, but that was my experience.

  • Imported image's position moves when updated in Indesign CS6. Why??

After modifying an imported image from illustrator, the imported image's position moves within the frame of Indesign CS6 when the link is updated.

You have not provided any relevant information, so nobody can know. you can simply have added content that expands the bounding box. Well, whatever, ask in the relevant forums and be much more specific.

  • Clicking "Search" freezes InDesign CS6 (and also InDesign CC)

On a specific InDesign document, clicking "Search" immediately freezes InDesign. For several reasons this is an inacceptable malfunction.
After restarting InDesign offers recovering my file. Clicking OK opens the file again without any problems but my workarea appears in default view and needs to be set to my adjustments.
"Save as" produces a much lighter file with 47mb instead of former 117mb?! No cure, the bug stays with this copy.
Another phenomenon seems to be coherent to the search-malfunction:
When trying to generate an automated "table of contens" InDesign freezes again.
I am working on CS6 Design and Web Creative Suite on an iMac 27" mid 2011, 16gb RAM. OSX Mavericks.
I installed the font (Helvetica) and checked the file on my MacBook (Mavericks) on CS6. Same problem, no solution.
The used fontfile is checked and appears to be OK.
No other InDesign files are affected by this bug.
Opening the file in InDesign CC shows the same problem.
Did anyone face a similar problem and knows a solution for it?
Thank you in advance for any hint that solves my problem!
    Peter

or you may use that CC on your computer as well:

  • Where/How can I update to Indesign CS6 8.01 or 8.02 ?

Due to problems within Interactive PDF's exported from Indesign I need to update my CS6 to a newer version - 8.01 or 8.02.
From looking through other threads it seems the interactive PDF problem was a bug which is now fixed in newer versions - (got that info here: https://forums.adobe.com/message/4482056#4482056)
Adobe - InDesign : For Macintosh : Adobe InDesign CS6 8.0.2 update - All Languages
The problem is when I follow this link above through to download the software update the links are all invalid or can't be found.
Can anyone indicate where / how I can update the software?
CC is not an option as I work for a studio and I need to remain on CS6 to have the same software as the rest of the team to ensure easy file sharing.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Works just fine. You need to use another browser/ check your firewall and router settings.

  • Where is March 20 v30 folio builder update?

The only files available are from March 15. My relative links are not working on desktop viewer.

The March 20 update to the tools fixes a sign-in issue in the Folio Builder panel, and you should install it when you get a chance, but you should be able to use relative links with the March 15 version of the tools. The key is to use a v30 viewer. It works with any folio format, including v20, but the viewer has to be v30. The v30 version of the Adobe Content Viewer isn't yet available in the App Store, so you need to build a custom v30 app to get relative navto links to work.

  • Adobe released new updates of InDesign CS6 v8, CC v9 and InCopy CS6

    Hello,
now it seems obviously, that Adobe released today(?) new versions of:
    InDesign CS6 => CS6 v8.1.0
    InDesign CS6 8.1.0 Release Notes
    InDesign CC v9.2.2 => CC v9.3.0
InDesign Help | InDesign CC 9.3.0 Release Notes
    InDesign InCopy CS6 => InCopy CS6 v8.1.0
InCopy Help | InCopy CS6 8.1.0 Release Notes
Currently that's all I can find about it…
    Uwe

Interesting that they're still fixing CS6. But are all the CS6 bug-fixes
only for CC subscribers, or only the auto-opening newer file versions
    feature?
And it's strange to me that they're still updating InDesignCC! Anyone
who has CC has a CC-subscription, so they have CC2014.1. So what do we
need an update to CC for?!
