Folio not opening in adobe content viewer

About a year ago, I created a magazine with Digital Publishing Suite for a college course and uploaded it to my ipad in Adobe Content Viewer. It was from a school computer and version of Indesign so I don't think I'd be able to reload the file onto the content viewer app if I needed to. When I open the content viewer, I see the cover of my magazine alongside an Adobe file that says "Release". This Adobe file is newly there, and so is a blue plug icon on the top corner of my magazine. When I click my magazine, the little info "i" turns into a spinning symbol, as if it were loading. However, nothing loads and nothing happens. I left it for hours and nothing happened. When I click to open the Adobe release file, it opens to a light grey screen with no content, buttons, or anything. There is nothing I can click on or do so it forces me to exit and quit the app.
Can someone please help me in figuring out what is causing it to not open? I'm frustrated at this point and am nervous to delete and redownload the app in case my file is lost. Like I said, not sure if it would still be there or if I could get it back again. (I also am signed into the app with my Adobe ID, if that helps)
Thanks!

Unfortunately you need to uninstall and reinstall the Adobe Content Viewer app, and doing so will result in the loss of the folio you see because you added it to the device using Preview on Device. Since you did this a year ago there have been several iOS changes that required updates to the application. There's really no way to resolve this without uninstalling, reinstalling, and then putting the content onto your device again.

  • Folio not appearing in Adobe Content Viewer on ipad

folio i created in indesign cs5.5 not appearing in Adobe Content Viewer on ipad.
I have CS5.5, Apple ipad 1st gen ios 5.0.1 Adobe content viewer 1.9.1
the folio appears on the acrobat.com site in the FOLIO PRODUCER
but nothing is appearing on my ipad in the Adobe Content Viewer.
I work for a large magazine publisher and would like to demo the folio on the ipad to sell the concept of the DPS.
However if i cant get this on my device, its going to be a no go.
    Help please.
    Thanks,
    James.

    Thanks Ants,
Your doubts motivated me to do some testing on the subject;-)
I made several files of different dimensions, and uploaded them to the cloud. All of them rendered correctly on the desktop. But only those which used exact 4:3 width:height ratio  appeared in the Content Viewer on the iPad. And only those, which were at least 1024x768px. A perfect 4:3 document sized 768x576 did not show. But the 1536x1152 one appeared correctly.
I am still certain, that the reason of absence od James' file in his iPad was caused by the dimensions of the folio. I would however modify my statement:
Only the folios sized exactly 1024x768 px (Landscape, portrait or both orientations) are valid for iPad
It should be: Only the folios sized 1024x768 px or more, with exact 4:3 ratio (Landscape, portrait or both orientations) are valid for iPad.

    Tomek

  • Folio not appearing in Adobe Content Viewer on some iPads

I have been working on developing an app for iPad in InDesign CS6 using Adobe DPS. For the most part, the process was working smoothly until recently. Once signed into Adobe Content Viewer on my third generation iPad, the folio shows up fine and downloads as expected. However, when others with older iPads download Content Viewer and sign in, they do not see the folio as an option. For example, a person with a second generation iPad, who has the latest iOS, was unable to see the folio in the viewer. I have stripped the app down to about 40megs, thinking size might have been an issue, but after multiple users have experience identical results, I don't think that is it. Has anyone had a similar issue, and is there anything I can do on my end to make the app compatible with a wider range of iPads?

Is it a single-folio app or a multi-folio app? If you set up renditions for a multi-folio app, only the appropriate rendition is available for a device. See this article about renditions:

I have Adobe Air installed. Does anyone have any recommendations for me?
    thank you.
PS. I also have CS5 installed and I could not generate preview from CS5 either.

I am suddenly unable to view offline folios on my iPad with Adobe Content Viewer. These are folios I was able to view 2 days ago. Updated InDesign, reinstalled the Content viewer, tested on 2 computers with 2 difffernt iPads and 2 different cables. Is anyone else having this problem?

This is a known issue, please see http://status.adobedps.com/ for updates.

  • Hyperlinks not working in Adobe Content Viewer?

    Hey
I'm trying to link a photo to another page in InDesign. It doesn't really matter how I do it, it's mainly important that it works .
So far I have managed to create a working hyperlink from a photo to a page, and it works on my computer. But as soon as I test it out in Adobe Content Viewer, nothing happens when I press the photo.
    Is this possible to do?
    Thanks!

  • Hot zone Navigation is not working on Adobe Content Viewer?

I create a Content Viewer v22 using Viewer Builder and I enabled the Hot zone navigation option with a 10% width.
But it don't work. I tap on the margins of the article and nothing happens (only show or hide the toolbars).
    What I'm doing wrong?

Unless there is a hot fix for that issue. My guess is that it doesn't warrant a hot fix because publishers can enable hot zones in a custom development app.

  • Folio not updating on iPad content viewer

Anyone else had this problem? I've made several changes to the folio yet on my iPad it doesn;t say there's an update available. I 'archived' the folio to try and get it back but it's just hidden for good now. I deleted the app and re-installed and all the other folios appear except this one.
Not sure what to do short of re-uploading everything to a new folio...

    duncan,
i experience the same bbehaviour. acrobat.com seem to become hickups after
    some time.
my solution to this was to rebuild the folio. annoying.

  • Problem with Adobe Content Viewer for ipad

    Hello,
I created an application from folio bulider 1.350 gigabytes.
Once downloaded using Adobe  Content Viewer on Ipad i can display it without any problems, but when I turn off the Ipad or delete Adobe Content Viewer by applications running in the background, and I open again Adobe Content Viewer that I get stuck and does not open.
Adobe Content Viewer I see in the background but does not stay open and do not show my application.
Should I delete the Adobe Content Viewer from iPad, download it again from the App Store and re-download my application.
It could be a problem of size? 1.350 gigabytes is too much?
It could be a problem version of indesign? I use version 5.0
    Thanks and looking answers ...

  • Can't test PDF folio on desktop Adobe Content Viewer

    Hi all,
I get an error when I'm trying to test my PDF formatted folio on my desktop Adobe Content Viewer.
I get the error in Dutch (my language) but roughly it translates: "This folio contains one or more stacks that are not yet supported for the Content Viewer for Desktop. PDF stacks are only supported in iOS-viewers."
This happens when I click "preview" in the folio builder. I work on a Macbook with Mac OS X Lion.
Help would be appreciated since I can't find anything about this issue with PDF formatted folio's on the internet!
    Thanks.

@Haeme – does not work for me. Sometimes yes, sometimes the Desktop Content Viewer is showing is a gray field.
Will test further, if there are any constraints concerning the rendering process of different objects.
Tested again. I had some MSOs on the second page that prevented rendering. They contain nothing but empty rectangles.
After removing ONE of the MSOs the rendering was fine. Did not matter if I removed the one or the other MSO.

  • Adobe Content Viewer won't open

I can't open the Adobe Content Viewer on the MAC I normally use. I get a message that says it is installed and that I am signed in. Why won't it open?

    Moved to DPS forum.
Details please. What O/S? What version of ID?

  • Adobe Content Viewer is Blank

When I open the Adobe Content Viewer on the iPad, the screen is blank or white. I remove the app from the most recently used apps and then it works, but I have to download my DPS folios all over again. So long as Adobe Content Viewer is stored in cache, I can return to it and all is well. But if I use a few other apps in between, when I return to the Adobe Content Viewer, nothing is displayed. Please advise. Thanks!

I would like to make sure that the issue you are seeing is indeed the same problem that Ivo references.
The issue we are aware of is related to folios that have upper-ascii characters in the magazine name. If you download such a folio, view it, return to the Library, forece close the app ("swipe up" method on iOS 7) then launch the app again the folio will ultimately need to be re-downloaded again for you to read it. Is this the problem?
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Content Viewer (desktop preview) issues

The Adobe Content Viewer (desktop preview) runs off the bottom of my screen (27") when viewing content from InDesign for the new iPad. Would like to be able to alter window size and be able to scroll down to view artwork at full size. Am I missing something simple?
I've downloaded the latest updates for the folio producer tools as well as the folio panel update.

The Adobe Content Viewer for the desktop currently doesn't preview new iPad (2048x1536) folios properly. This desktop preview issue should be fixed in the next release.
