Font selection dropdown within form field

Is it possible or how do I create a dropdown font selection within a form field?  I want the user to be able to preview on screen what text will look like when they choose a specific font after they have typed in their text.
Thanks for your help!
Oh, Acrobat X

Is there any way to perform the above mentioned?  Thanks for your information!

  • Font changes in PDF form fields created in InDesign

    I wasn't sure where to post this -- InDesign or Acrobat forum -- I created a lot of form fields in InDesign and when I exported to PDF, some of the form fields ended up using Times and some using Helvetica. When creating the fields in InDesign, I copied and pasted most of them to duplicate them and then changed their names, so it seems like they should all be using the same font.
    I know how to later change the form field font in Acrobat, but it's not efficient to have to do that.
    If anyone knows how to specify which font is used in an InDesign form field and make it stick in the resulting PDF, I hope you'll help me out.

    Check if there is everything OK with the <ORACLE_HOME>\tools\Common90\uifont.ali file.
    You can alias specific styles of font there. For example
    Courier.12... = Courier.14....
    changes courier 12 to 14 in the report output.

  • Need help Loading images with selection on a form field?

    So I'm kind of a newb.. I can do basic forms but I need to set up a form field drop down box that will give me the ability to load images correlating to the users choice. I'm at a total loss for where to start, so ANY help would be appreciated. If you know of any good books or tutorials on the subject please share.
    Thanks in advance
    Sincerely,
    Stumped4now

    P.S. I think I'm getting a better understanding of OCGs after lots of research today. However I still seem to be missing something
    var docOCGs = this.getOCGs();
    for (var x=0; x < docOCGs.length; x++)
      if(docOCGs[x].name == "Layer1")
      docOCGs[x].state = !docOCGs[x].state;

  • How can I set the font size of a form field in the fdf file?

    I need to dynamically set the font size of a field to accommodate text of varying length, automatic font size won't work in this case. It seems like this can be done in the FDF but I have tried several variants without success. Could someone help out with a real example of what the syntax in the fdf should look like.
    I am using Acrobat Professional 8.1 but the created fdf will need to work with Reader also.

    I think that the font size has to be set in the form itself, not the FDF.

  • Multiple NOT-IN selection from within Forms 6i

    I have a form, in which the user can put several varchar2 IDs (es. 'A0', 'B3', 'CJ',...). Then, I have to execute a query like this:
    INSERT INTO FOO
    SELECT *
    FROM BAR
    WHERE ID NOT IN (...values put by the user...)
    - The list of the user values has an undefined length
    - I can't create a temporary table on the DB
    Is there a solution to my problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    You definitely can use dynamic sql. Here is an alternative:
    select replace(substr(','||:str,pos+1,4),'''','') from
    (select instr(','||:str,',',1,n) pos from
    (select rownum n from dba_objects where rownum < 1000) pivot
    where instr(','||:str,',',1,n) > 0) a
    assuming you will have maximum 1000 codes in the string, if not, change it accordingly, and assuming your codes are always 2 characters, otherwise, change the logic a bit. :str is your string 'AJ','B3','CJ'...

  • How to change font in multiple form fields?

    I am creating a form - there are about 2 dozen form fields that are set up.
    I had Acrobat detect form fields.
    Is there a way I can select multiple form fields and change the font in all of them?
    I have tried selecting all the fields [cmd A] and double clicking to get to the appearance tab.
    The only changes the font in the 1 field I double click.
    thanks everyone!

    Select all the form fields , select first the hold shift key and select the rest Then right click or control click and choose properties. then look for "Fonts" choose desired font. If this works your all set otherwise you will have to choose each indivually and change.

  • Dropdown boxes selection-additional form field

    FormsCentral -->Templates tab -->  Trade Seminar R.S.V.P Form ( https://adobeformscentral.com/?f=fFzLm5nQP1QqDDU2UeQTsw&preview# )
    In this form there is a feature I would like to create in one of my forms. Under "meals" if you select "other" an extra form field appears...how do I create this?
    Thx!

    When you create the drop down there is a "Include Other Choice" option on the field property panel - check it.

  • Setting tab order to form fields contained within a table, Indesign CS6

    I have created a form in ID CS6, and have put all the tabs in order so that people can easily navigate it when filling it in. However, all of the form fields that are contained within tables are not in order, and I can't find any way of putting them in order without changing them in acrobat after I have made the interactive PDF. This means that every time my client makes changes to the form I have to manually put all the fields in order again, which is time consuming. Is anyone able to help?

    This tab order dialogue box is nearly useless if you have a complex form with hundreds of form fields as there is no way to interact with the document when the dialogue is open and clicking on an entry in the list does not highlight the respective field. Furthermore, if you have arrays of radio buttons, or check boxes acting like radio buttons, ie all with the same form field name, there's no way to know which order they should be arranged in since they can't be selected or identified while this dialogue is open!
    That is immensely frustrating to say the least.
    It's quite ridiculous that Adobe hasn't fixed this bug in years and this user interface is shockingly bad.

  • When creating a fillable form fields from an existing pdf file, how do you set or allow end user to set the font size in the fields?

    I successfully created a form filled pdf using an existing pdf document.  However, the font size is too large to allow end user to type in information in the form box.  Is there a way to 1)globally set all  of the form fields when generated to a much smaller font size &/or 2) allow end user to change the font size if needed to put all information in one box without font being so large?

    Hi DenisonDoc,
    There is no option right now to set properties globally primarily for Text fields. You may make sure fields doesn't contain anything.
    Select all the text filed from the form and right click any of the selected field make sure all of them are selected choose properties --> Appearance there you can choose Font Size and Font type.
    - End users cant change size and type of font. It is up to designer.

  • PDF won't print form fields created within CS6

    Hello! I have created a document within InDesign CS6 that contains "Text Field" form fields. I exported the document as an "Interactive PDF" and within Adobe Acrobat 10 (Professional) I can see the the form fields as pale blue boxes (see screen shots below). When I print the PDF, however, the form fields disappear. No pale blue boxes on the paper.
    In the "Buttons and Forms" dialog box, each form field has "printable" selected under "PDF Options".
    Can anyone tell me how I can print a PDF with the blue boxes on the paper? I need them for proofing and approval processes.
    I am running WinXP.
    Thank you!

    Go to Form Editing in Tools> Forms. Highlight the field and go to the Text Field Properties>Appearance (Ctrl+I) and choose the Borders and Colors that you want to print. i.e a pale blue color (or any other border and color).

  • Global default form field font change

    Hi.
    I've created a form in InDesign (CC 9.2.1) with mulitple text fields. Does anyone know of a way to globally change the font from Times New Roman to another in the PDF? This is the default font, but it clashes visually in the form. I'd like to change it to Arial or Helvetica (nothing fancy), which would better suit the form, and look much more professional than Times.
    I've read that JavaScript can do this (when run from the Debugger console in Acrobat – my version is 11.0.06), but I don't know JavaScript well enough to write or debug it.
    Manually selecting properties on every field would be very time-consuming, and there's no option to pre-select the font in InDesign. Plus, if I then amend the form or make changes in InDesign, I'd have to re-do all my properties changes.
    I've also seen a comment (on here somewhere) where someone has altered a registry file to set the default font. I'm on Mac, so does anyone know of a similar method on Mac that might work? I'm happy to delve into package contents etc.
    Has anyone had any success doing this?

    Firstly, try changing the ContactID to a hidden field, and
    just for the user
    maybe display it on the page also.
    <input type="hidden" name="ContactID" value="**put field
    here**" />
    As for the username, in your Application Panel under Bindings
    click the +
    and choose Session Variable and enter MM_Username. Drag this
    where ever you
    want it to appear, including the default value for a field.

  • Javascript to adjust form field font size by number of entered characters?

    I have a form field that asks for 'full name' (first, middle, last). It's posted large at the top of the form. Some people's names are short, some long.
    Is there a javascript way to adjust the font size used within a form field based on the number of characters entered into field?
    i.e. if the name entered is Joe Smith, the font size is 30pt, if it's Alexander Hamilton the font size is 20pt?
    Thanks!

    Uhm... because I never noticed that option before! hehe. Jeez.
    Gilad, thx much. That's exactly what I was looking to accomplish.
    (An aside: trying to find a specific Adobe solution or function isn't very easy. I always search the forums, the documentation, and Google before posting any question here. Seems like there are so many features in every product that change so frequently that finding even a simple answer is a challenge...)

  • 2 cascading multiple dropdown list boxes that fill a form field in Infopath

    I have a request to do this:
    first field is a cascading list box is type of work (can select more than 1 type of work)( separate list)
    then based on the choices above the
    second cascading list box has the various people's names from the first list box (can select more than 1 person)(separate List )
    then I need to from the second list box have a form field hold the various email addresses of all the people selected in the second list box.
     how would I do a multiple tier cascade in Infopath form?

    those are good examples, but here is the thing the first two dropdowns can be more than 1 selection, could be 50 items selected.
    and selection 2 dropdown doesnt lookup into  selection 1. but they do have a related column.
    company name..... ( just  saying).
