Fonts in chromium/gmail blurry

Question

i just installed some new chinese fonts, and a few other things, and now gmail in google-chrome looks all blurry. i've tried changing the settings, but nothing changes. should i just remove some of these?

oh, maybe... but it seemed to happen just after i got those new fonts.

maybe that bitmap font is overwriting some other settings? i'm not sure how to read that config file. i'll have to do more reading than i have time right now to figure it out. but if something stands out, please let me know thanks
so i'm not sure if its that problem or not. pacman says i do have the bad 2.0 version of liberation. and i substituted dejavu for it in the fonts/conf.d dir but things still aren't quite right.
