FOR ALL CANTERWOOD, SPRINGDALE & GRANITE BAY BOARDS WITH RADEON CARDS

There is a known issue with radeon cards and these mobo.
You have 2 choices:
1. Disable Fast write and 8x.
2. You can uninstall SMARTGART, Click HERE for uninstall software.
This solves the Radeon 9500 9700 & 9800 series probs with these board.
Good Luck to all

JeffPH!
I already asked on couple threads, that how the FSB/DDR speeds are related together?
As you can check at my signature I've a P4 2.4B cpu and 2x512Mb PC3000 (DDR370) Kingston HyperX ram. I'm thinking on replacement of the ram to 2x512Mb of PC3500 Kingston HyperX to have the speed-advantage of dual chanel DDR400 and
to have some extra speed in reserve for OC.
I don't know if this change is fine or not.
I heard that dual chanel 400 can be used only with P4 C cpu. Is that so?
At this moment my DDR rated to 370 so is tat mean the fsb can be 185Mhz maximum. Is it right? Or is the mem-speed and fsb speed asynchronous?
My other problem is that my windows crashing in 3D when my 9500pro has 8x agp and fast write enabled.
It's working fine with 4x and no fast write. I tried with Smartgart uninstalled, tried with catalyst 3.4.
How can I test what is wrong? or what can cause this crash?
Please take 3 minutes and reply to me! I would appreciate that!
Regards,
pszabo

  • For all the people on the fence with Creative products

    To whom it may concern,
I have been using Creative lab products since the original Soundblaster series was introduced for public consumption oh so many years ago....and I have never been happier with a manufacturer when it comes to sound cards.
Not one manaufacture puts the features or quality into their soundcards like creative does, and their driver support has been pretty top-notch over the years.
Now no one is perfect, but I find it funny that after building 500+ PC's in the past 8 years, that I seem to be the only one in this forum (besides the admin and mods) that has had almost ZERO problems with their soundcards (And I personally have owned everything from a Soundblaster ISA to the Audigy 2 ZS).
I've installed countless other brands of soundcards in customer machines (And only because the customer was "a cheapskate" and deemed cost was more important than quality.) And everytime I've had a customer come back to complain about the horrible sound problems, replacing the el' cheapo soundcard with a SoundBlaster ALWAYS took care of the problem...and If had my way, I would never sell a machine without one.
BUT, as long as their are UN-INFORMED CHEAPSKATES that insist on spending the absolute BOTTOM DOLLAR on thier computers, your gonna see the same typical "my soundcard dont work, and its everybody's fault but mine" complaints in forums like this one.
Half or more of the people that post their gripes and complaints in this forum are the same type of idiots that refuse to spend more than 300.00 on a PC, expect it to run like they spent 3,000.00, then cant figure out why the thing dont work worth a crap every time they use it or try to upgrade it.
If most of these people just did some research before they just ran out to wal-mart to buy their computer, and maybe took a class or bought a couple of books (AND READ THEM), most of these complaints and gripes would dissappear.
I've found that 95% of the problems with soundcard installs has nothing with the card itself (Short of a driver issue)....nearly every problem with a non-functioning soundcard stems from either improper BIOS configuration, improper PCI slot selection for the card, or just a CHEAP / GENERIC MOTHERBOARD.
As with anything else in life.....YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR...if you spend 50 dollars on a junk motherboard when you shoulda spent 50.00....WHAT THE HECK DO YOU EXPECT TO GET OUT OF IT.
With all that said.... I know this was a long rant, but I couldnt take seeing how so many people in this forum do nothing but cut down on creative for problems that were most likely the fault of the user to begin with.
REMEMBER PEOPLE.....GIGO, Computers only do what their told to do.

    JSA2,
Whether you're pro-Creative or anti-Creative doesn't make a difference if you're going to personally insult people. I appreciate the sentiment of the post, but if you want to continue posting here you'll have to remain civil, or we will suspend your account.
    BostonDanglr,
The same applies to you. Even if you feel personally insulted by a post, don't let it get to you. You say you haven't heard from us in 0 days, was your contact with us by e-mail? If so, post a thread on General and let me know, and I'll get someone to look into why you haven't had a reply. • Read this for all having problem setting up Routers with Broadband Modems

I have used Netgear and Linksys for years now, but hadn't setup a new router for a while. Hence, struggled installing a new Airport Extreme to replace my Linksys Router which was not providing enough signal strength for my Mac Mini based iTunes database to stream to my Apple TV wirelessly. Here is what I did finally to resolve the issue:
My setup: Arris TM502G broadband modem provided by Comcast
    1. I kept the old router powered up and removed the WAN connection from it and connected it to the AE.
    2. After I installed the Airport Utility, I powered up the AE and let it go thru the installation process and allowed it to pick up the settings from the old router. This step is simple and can be done manually.
    3. After that the struggle began as "Renew DHCP" wouldn't get me a valid 71.xxx.xxx.xxx series IP address from the Modem. I read all the posts (and felt the same pain as others). Saw very helpful posts with good intention to help others like "remove the power", "remove the battery from the modem", "let it sit without power for 24hrs", etc.. I couldn't use some of these suggestions as my house will be without an internet connection for a long time.
    4. Finally, I pressed the "Reset" switch behind the modem for a few seconds until all but the power indicator had turned off indicating a reset. Once it came up and all the LEDs were lit, a few seconds later the LED on the AE turned solid Green indicating success. Looked at the Airport Utility and indeed it had got the new IP address.
There are not too many broadband modem manufacturers and so it shouldn't be too difficult to publish the installation procedure under FAQ on Apple support website for all the modems that Apple's test team has tested with. It could save a lot of grief. Even for a geek like me, I had to burn the midnight oil.
PS: My Apple TV is now streaming the movies/tv shows/home videos from my Mac Mini smoothly. That was the reason I purchased this expensive router. And I found the "guest access" feature which I wasn't aware of. Excellent feature to let my son's friends hook up their laptops during a study/school project session without letting them access our other home computers.

do you mean to see that the XP machine is working as a VPN server ?? if yes then you need not require to forward ports on the router...the laptop should be able to connect to the VPN server remotely ..
if not , then connect the VPN server directly to the modem and check whether you can connect to the VPN server remotely from the router ..

I was under the assupmtion the video card section would report something different if it was working correctly.

  • System hangs with radeon card and vgaswitcheroo

I have an HP Envy 17-3200 with an integrated HD4000 (i915) and an ATI M7850 (radeon).  These modules are both included in the kernel via mkinitcpio.  I am using systemd but have enabled the rc-local service to run at boot (rc.local is run).  This turns off the discrete card via vgaswitcheroo.  Given this configuration, the system boots normally into gdm.  However, when I attempt to switch graphics cards via:
    $ echo DDIS > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch
    $ sudo systemctl restart gdm.service
The system hangs (I have to force a reset).  This happens regardless of whether I echo OFF into vgaswitcheroo.  This does not happen if I restart gdm without switching cards.
I know the radeon driver is loaded and associated with my card as:
    $ lspci -k
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09)
    Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device 1853
    Kernel driver in use: i915
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Device 6827 (rev ff)
    Kernel driver in use: radeon
I'm not even sure of what log to look in to narrow down the problem.
NOTE:  This seems to be related to this post.  That problem was at boot time and mine was not, though.  In addition, no one replied to that post, so I thought I might make a new one.

    https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37528
I am not 100% sure, but I think that is the answer to your question.  Not very satisfying, but I have the same problem.  It's impossible to get it working.
Maybe Wayland will solve the issue, someday... when we've already bought new laptops... which by that time won't be supported by Wayland. ;-)

    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Sreeni,
The images are stored with employee ids reference like 1234.jpg in the image location path, so will it be possible to call those images into the report with no relation at database level.
as you said in above mail even if if we cld try  to store the images in oracle database with format like CLOB format the rpd will not support the datatype to bring to that report level.
Please let me know if you have any solution
    Thanks in Advance
    kumar

Now I don't know if anyone else posted this site here but I'm doing it just so this $200+ investment doesn’t' become useless or so you don’t have to waste your money on buying a nano(girlfriend bought me a nano for Christmas cause both her and me were having problems with our minis and I told her to bring it back. There was no way I was going to give apple more money cause the mini stop working after a year of me receiving last xmas from my girlfriend. Well here is the site to download a trial version of the program and another link for FAQ's for those who are skeptical.

I tried it and it work. I'm finally using my iPod again cause I can acut put songs back into it. iTunes is useless now so I chucked it. All you do is after the iPod is registered by windows as a letter drive just open up this program and just drop the songs you want into. Not sure how long the trial version last but if it continues to work I'll buy it. Just trying to help out fellow frustrated mini owners. Sorry if this is a repost. Thanks. Later.

We've reached out to the Hotmail team and they've determined that this is a bug in their code. (It was masked by a timing issue in 3.5 that was fixed in 3.6.) We've worked with them to develop a fix but they may not have deployed it yet.

  • Once and for all, can someone please tell me with credible certainty, is Smiley Central safe to use?

There is so much conflicting info out there. I love concept of being able to use the emoticons, but don't want to download spyware/malware/viruses. . .

The only OS upgrade option available for a PowerBook G4 is Mac OS X 10.5. It may be more cost-effective to purchase a secondhand Intel Mac.

  • Using the Z68A-GD65 board with graphics card and Lucid Virtual Driver

Edit:  I found the online manual for Lucid, so the main question is answered (where to plug in the monitor).  However, I'd appreciate tips or suggestions on how to use this new technology.
I play a few games, burn/rip blu-rays, but mostly use Photoshop.  The latest Photoshop and Win7 both use the processing power of a discrete graphics card.  However, I'm going to install an i7 2600k which also has the graphics built into it.  I understand the Lucid software allows video processing with the i7 and gaming with the discrete card.  It sounds as though "i-mode" is the way to go, but are there any drawbacks?
Also, while I have your attention, here's my planned build, and I'd appreciate any recommendations/suggestions.  Thanks for the help.
    Win7 Pro
    Z68A-GD65
    Intel i7 2600k
16 gigs of Corsair Vengeance Low Profile (1600)
    EVGA GTX 560Ti
Crucial SSD 128gig SATA III (for the boot drive)
Plus, all the leftover gear from the old build (BD drive, 3 hard drives, OZC 700w psu)

    Thanks for your feedback .

  • Anyone tried the AMS DS-2340SES 3.5" 4 Bay Enclosure with 3132 card

I saw the AMS DS-2340SES advertised at Outpost.com. It comes with a SiI-3132 card and a 4-port SATA PM enclosure for $129.99 here:
    http://shop3.outpost.com/product/5276267
Has anyone tried this setup on a Mac Pro? This is the lowest priced SATA PM solution I have seen so far. If it works it may be a low priced storage expansion option.

  • Where can I find commands for wireless key board with my Ipad?

how do I find a command list for using my apple wireless key board with my Ipad?

you will have to power off the wireless keyboard...or go into your settings and turn off the bluetooth when you aren't using it.
the default for hte ipad is to only have one keyboard at a time. And if your ipad senses a blue tooth attached, your onscreen one will not be visible.

  • INNER JOIN with FOR ALL ENTRIES IN Performance ?

I am using following the following <b>Select using Inner join with For All Entries in.</b>
          SELECT kebeln kebelp kvbeln kvbelp
FROM ekkn AS k INNER JOIN ekbe AS b ON kebeln = bebeln
                                               AND kebelp = bebelp
            INTO TABLE gi_purchase
             FOR ALL ENTRIES
             IN gi_sales
          WHERE k~mandt EQ sy-mandt
            AND k~vbeln EQ gi_sales-vbeln
            AND k~vbelp EQ gi_sales-posnr
            AND b~budat EQ p_date.
If i am not doing inner join then I will have to do 2 select with for all entries in on ekkn and ekbe tables and then compare them.
<b>I want to know which one has better performance
Inner join with for all entries in
                    or
2 Selects with for all entries in</b>

the join is almost aways faster:
