For no apparent reason the add-on toolbar disappeared. After opening view/toolbars and customize the add-on toolbar immediately appears . However, once I click-on "Done"; the toolbar again disappears. Please advise possible solution.

Despite numerous attempts to utilize your suggested "fix" to the disappearing tool bar problem, the results remained unchanged (i.e. tool bar immediately appears for customization, but immediately disappears upon exiting the tool bar customization screen).
In an effort to determine if transactional sequencing may have any impact on affecting the appearance/disappearance of the add-on tool bar, in addition to attempting to resolve the current challenge through the use of the Firefox safe mode and reset tool bar functionality, I also elected to change the sequence in which I modified the desired "customization(s)", as well as the methodology for exiting the customization screen, Firefox safe mode (e.g. click-on Done, exit through X, exit and renter FF safe mode, with and without closing the customization screen, etc...).
Further in addition to following the documented transactions, I also exited and reentered the Windows 7 O.S., as well as exiting and reentering Firefox safe mode and Firefox.
Unfortunately, despite the myriad of methodologies I attempted, the resultant effect remained the same (i.e. immediate disappearance of add-on tool bar, when clicking-on Done or exiting the screen and/or system).
However, I did notice one anomaly, which heretofore had gone unnoticed due to benefits garnered rather than features lost.
Since the beginning of the this recent disappearing tool bar challenge, the add-ons which I select and locate on the URL address line continue to remain on screen, despite the disappearance of the add-on tool bar and all selected add-on "customizations" reflected in the add-on tool bar, regardless of any/other changes.
I want to thank you for your valuable contribution to the "hopeful" resolution of this most recent problem and I sincerely apologize for the delay in responding your suggestion. (During the past few days, we have been entertaining a relative from another country and as a result, I elected not to spend time on the computer). Respectfully, 10pinfvr

    Have you checked to see if your WiFi router needs to have your iPad's MAC address specifically permitted to use WiFi?  Some WiFi routers have a section in the settings called "Access List", possibly under "Security".
    You can find the MAC address in Settings > General > About > Wi-Fi Address

    Open Safari and click the Safari menu then click Reset Safari, that may help. 

  • I have a 4s...today, for no apparent reason, I am missing data including, calendar appts, notes, contacts and maybe other things that I am not aware of right now.  I did nothing to cause this.  Any ideas on how to restore?

    I seem to have lost a significant amount of data from calendars (ll appts are gone), notes (a good percentage are gone) and contacts (more than 50% are gone).  I have done nothing to cause this.  Any ideas how I might restore everything?

    try turning the phone off and then back on it worked for me.

  • Satellite L755D - sound keeps cutting out for no apparent reason

    I posted this in another thread, but thought I might need to start one of my own since a solution had been found by that person and I am still having a problem. So, about three weeks ago the sound on my computer began just cutting out for no apparent reason.  It happened while I was watching streaming video and I tried updating all my software stuff (like flash and java and things of that nature).  It still continued to happen and now it was happening with streaming video, with youtube type videos, and with mp3s stored on this computer. I discovered that if I went to the control panel and clicked on sound/hardware and then clicked on the tab for recording, the sound immediately came back.  So, I've been doing this for the past couple of weeks and it is extremely annoying! In another thread on ths forum, the individual discovered that the Malwarebytes program had been the culprit and I was happy to have an answer, except that I had installed security software last week which removed MB from my computer.  And I continue to have the issue even today.  I clicked on the link in the other thread to update my drivers and I continue to have the issue. Can anyone help?  It's making me crazy! Thanks in advance.

    OK - I'm getting this as well. Satellite L750-1E5. It was fine for ages and this started happening about a month ago now. - tried updating the drivers - System restored back to when it worked, not working This led me to think it was a hardware problem. My gut feeling however was that it was some sort of driver problem as sound would cutout after about 2 minutes, but would often come back if I started playing another song or something. Reinstalled Windows 7(64 bit) and played through an entire song with no issues(using Windows 7 sound drivers). Ran Windows update and the issue has come back.  Installed the proper Conexant driver, but issue still occurring. I believe a Windows update has caused this issue.

    Gutenprint drivers are intended for non-laser printers. HP supplies the proper drivers, and you can download the latest version directly from HP's support site. Or you can install the most recent HP drivers provided by Apple.
    Printing speeds do not include the time it may take to transfer data to the printer. It also doesn't take into account the time it takes for the printer to be prepared to start printing. Color is much slower than B/W.
    Contact HP for any additional assistance you may need since these forums do not provide support for non-Apple products.

    I talked with a tech today and he said I cloud is having problems which should be resolved shortly.
    In the mean time I used the .me smtp server settings which allowed me to send mail.

But now I notice that my LR directory of folders in Library view does not show images correctly: If there is a folder with sub-folder(s), the folder will indicate 0 images, but the sub-folders show the proper number of images. What happened and is there a fix? I tried uninstalling Lightroom and re-installing, but problem persists.

  • Desktop appearance problem:  For no apparent reason my Mac running OSX 10.4.11 imposed a mesh-like pattern over the folders on my desktop and also across the top of the screen and down the right-hand side where I have the dock.  How do I remove it?

    For no apparent reason my Mac (2 GHz PowerPC G5) running 10.4.11 has put a mesh-like pattern over the folders on my desktop and also a band of the same pattern across the top of the screen and down the right-hand side over the dock.  (See screen grabs below.)
    It doesn't affect any operations but makes folder names and drop-down menus difficult to read through the pattern.
    I'm not aware of changing any settings so suspect I must have clicked on something without noticing.  How do I get rid of the overlaid pattern, please?

    Try a soft reset by pressing down the home and sleep buttons simultaneousely until the Apple logo appears, then release the buttons.  This is a safe proceedure, so you won't lose any stored data.

    The problem is, I can't enter my passcode because I'm not given that option on the iPhone. All I seem to be able to do is make an emergency call.
    It's been working fine otherwise. Any suggestions?

    Are you referring to the 4 digit passcode needed to enter the phone and use it's features?
    If so reboot your iPhone and enter the passcode to get it operational.  Launch Image Capture on the Mac and connect the iPhone.  Now you should be able to download the video files to wherever you want on your hard drive.

    When I originally set up the computer, I just chose a preloaded picture that was offered.  (For example, I chose the sunflower, but now I get an eagle--but never chose the latter).  It's not really a big deal, I was just worried that somehow my computer might have been tampered with.  The OS update may be why it changed.
    How do I change it back--if you wouldn't mind taking the time to explain something that is probably very simple to a not too computer-savvy user.  Thanks!

    I think this has been brought up here a couple of times and IIRC always had sth. to do with a graphic tablet. Do you have one? And of course the usual stuff: system version, Illustrator version etc.
