Force to print landscape
How do I force a page to print landscape using CSS?
It's a setting of the individual viewers printer.
All you can really do is put a notice on your page, "Best
Printed In
Landscape"

Print landscape report in character mode
Hi!
It seems that I should change xxx.prt file in DESFORMAT parameter to match different kinds of printers in order to print landscape report in character mode.
Our customers are international wide. How can I do to make this setting meet every customer for printing reports in landscape style?
We will run the reports on Unix on the middle tier and customers read them in browser.
Thanks for help.
nullHi,
This sounds like a similar problem that I had (and still having). It was (is) a Bug. Go to metalink.oracle.com and reference this bug#1413754. See if this is your problem as well. My only work around was change the format of the file instead of using character mode I am now using PDF. Which is working fine for me.

HP LaserJet 1018 not printing landscape on index cards
I regularly print on 3 x 5 index cards with this printer. In fact, this is the reason I purchased the printer. Just this morning, I am suddenly unable to print landscape on it. Any file set up in landscape will run through the printer and come out blank. However, if I change the set up to print portrait, my prints are perfect. Hm...does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi. Did you ever figure out why you can't print 3x5 index cards in landscape mode on your HP printer? I'm having exactly the same problem. I can print the document on ordinary 8.5x11, but not on index cards. It was working a couple of weeks earlier. I've tried all the obvious solutions but so far nothing works. Thanks.

How can I force my printer to print doublesided when sending a doc through eprint?
I found out how to force my printer to accept doublesided as standard when printing but it still does not print doublesided when I am sending a print job through HPeprint: can I force that somewhere?
Sorry to hear that it is not possible to print twodieded when mailing file to printer.
I would also like to be able to choos color or black-only printing when mailing.
I could accept to have 4 differnt mailadresses to same printer for setting b/w, color and 1or2sided printing.
Or at least change the default setting to when I mail it wil alllways be 2sided.
Should not be to hard to allow us to modify defaults at least.
To add configurable options with mulitple adresses would require more I think.

Printing landscape pdf to Linux CUPS shared printer
I'm having a problem printing landscape pdf documents from Preview to printers on my Linux CUPS server. Documents print portrait style, with the right side of the document cut off. This occurs in both 10.4.11 and 10.5.2.
Using Adobe Reader or printing the pdf from the command line using lpr work correctly to the shared printer.
Printing directly to the printer (not through the server) is the only way Preview prints it right.
My CUPS server is:
Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy
CUPS 1.3.7I'm having the same problem. I have a Lexmark x9350 that is shared through Airport Extreme.

At some point in time, FF has decided to print everything in landscape. Chrome and Safari do not have this problem. Under page setup, the orientation is portrait but it will still print landscape.
Firefox 4 versions and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac.
Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

For an unofficial Firefox 8 compatible version (TenFourFox) that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:

Please Help: Left Columns Cut off Printing Landscape Dynamic Table
I have designed a form with a table designed to print landscape on a letter size paper. The form has an Add row button creates rows that can span multiple pages. The form prints correctly in the PDF Preview tab but when tested with adobe reade 11 the table cuts off on the left for all pages except the first when mutilpe pages are printed. If one page is printed then it prints ok. This only happens in adobe reader 11 when the "auto portrait/landscape" is selected in the print dialog. If "Landscape" is selected instead of "auto portrait/landscape" the pages print ok. I am using Designer ES2. I can't depend on the users of the form to make the orientation landscape before printing. Does anyone know the solution to this problem?
Try unchecking everything, You don't really need to specify something... it should work by itself... if it ain't working I could take a look at it if you wouldn't mind sharing the pdf.

Adboe Acrobat 8.1.7 printing landscape only
Just received an update and now all pdf files sent to any of our printers all come out landscape rather than the default portrait. All the page setups show portrait but print landscape.
TRy downloading a new driver for your printer from the p
rinter manufacture then:
open Printer Setup Utility and deleting printer from list.
Now open driver installer just download and if it has a an uninstaller run it.
Next use the sme install program (you downloaded) and install.
Now openPrinter Setup Utility again and look for your printer per instucts for add printer.
now make it default printer.
Now Try to print document. -
Can't Print Landscape from Crystal Reports Viewer XI
Post Author: conrad
CA Forum: General
Product: Crystal Reports Viewer XI, version 12.0.0.r130_v20070725 and
Crystal Reports XI, version 11.0.0.1282
Patches Applied: none
Operating System(s): XP Pro SP2
Database(s):
Error Messages: noneSteps to Reproduce:
Download and install Crystal Reports Viewer XI
Open a Crystal Report that prints landscape.
Save report with data.
Open that report with Crystal Reports Viewer XI. Report will display landscape.
Click Print..OK
Viewer will attempt to scale output to fit on portrait paper, with varying degrees of success.
Checking the properties of the report from Viewer (File...Report Properties...) shows a "Page Orientation" of "Landscape" and a message "Page Orientation and size defined by the application (no page information set by report author)."
Any ideas on how to get the report to print landscape? It prints that way from Crystal Reports XI.Hello Glenda,
as you refer to the legacy technology I recommend to post this query to the [Legacy Application Development SDKs|SAP Crystal Reports - Legacy SDKs; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to legacy SDKs, including the Report Designer Component (RDC), OCX, VCL, and Crystal Reports Print Engine (CRPE).
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all Legacy Application Development SDKs queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.
Thanks a lot,

Using Reader 9 for Windows.
TWO QUESTIONS
1. Where do we find info re getting Reader 9 to print content full-size in landscape format on 8.5 x 11 paper?
2. Currently, the PDF file sent to me is in landscape. I can have the printer print landscape, but the content remains in portrait, meaning that it stay in its small shrunk mode even though it is orientd correctly to the landscape layout.
I tried all Page-Scaling options but it fails to print correctly. The PDF file sent to me will not print full-size in the landscape layout format.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,I had the same problem. I wasted almost a pack of photo paper, a ton of ink, and many hours trying to print landscape photos. HP could not help me either. What I finally found out was that you do NOT change the orientation from portrait to landscape, somehow the printer will automatically print the photo in landscape orientation.

Trouble printing landscape PDF
I am having difficulty printing a pdf document that is in a landscape orientation. The first page prints correctly, but subsequent pages either print lower and to the left on the page or they print in a reduced size and to the lower left. I am able to duplicate this issue in both Adobe Acrobat 11.0.05 as well as Adobe Reader. I do not have the issue if I print using Preview on Mac OS X. I am using Acrobat and Reader on Windows 7, 32 bit.
Some of docs are not created by me but are available as studies on
websites. On our docs, we import into InDesign. No, it does not print
correctly if I select landscape rather than auto. And sometimes I select a
page range to print and the command is ignored and prints the entire doc.

AR812 print landscape with ghostscript
hallo,
printing landscape pages under CUPS with PCL-filter (foomatic-rip)
cannot be rotate on paper and then the right site is cuted.
This effect is also reproducible with printing in a file and
viewing with a PS-viewer e.g. gv or gsview - page cannot be
rotate for A4 (or letter) format.
Reason is the roll setpagedevice statement for printers ,
that only from physical devices is executed but is not
recognized from ghostscript. Is there any workaround ?
Particularly by printing of screen presentations with
multiple pages per sheet it is very worrying - here is also
the acroread preview already confusing, since the real output
is in portrait mode but the preview in landscape mode !
Thank you MatthiasHi Matthias,
Thank you for reporting this issue. The bug you are referring to will be fixed in the next release of the Reader, which is likely to happen sometime next year (2009). Several months before the actual release we plan to have a pre-release program in which we share pre-release builds with our customers - if you are interested in being a part of the pre-release program, please send an email to the Anupam Garg, the Program Manager for the Reader. Anupam's email id is anupam at adobe dot com.
You might want to stay tuned to the official blog for the Unix Reader at http://blogs.adobe.com/acroread for updates on upcoming releases, sneek perviews, and more.
Thanks,

I have a report that when run fits on the screen, however, when I print I loose columns on the right side. If I print landscape it fits. I prefer not to change the print settings, my desire is to do this programmatically with a button that when clicked would change the orientation to landscape, and print the report. Is this even possible? Has anyone tried this?
Any help is appreciated
Thanks
Mark
nullHi,
I have tried to do this without success.
for WinNT the settings are in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\PageSetup\orientation
If you do find a way to alter the setting from the browser, please let me know.

Can't print Landscape in IDCS3
I'm using Leopard and can happily print Landscape format to my Espon printer in Illustrator, photoshop, quark and even InDesign CS2 - but it will not adjust the page to print landscape in IDCS3, just keep printing across a portrait page and missing half the image off - is there a work round, fix, alternative?? Please help
The color should be identical. Make sure to set Acrobat's color
management identically to InDesign's.
FWIW, I never print from InDesign anyway since I always send PDFs to the
printer so it's the PDFs that matter.

C4795 partial printing landscape Dell XPS720 W7 64bit
My HP c4795 printer will not print landscape output correctly.
It displays correctly in print preview but the output page is portrait and only has text on 2 inches of the left side of the page the rest is blank. It does not seem to matter what application I am printing landscape from. Portrait prints correctly.
I have un-installed and reinstalled the driver and patches from the HP website.
Not sure if it is related but some time back I upgraded from Vista to W7.
Thank you.kwee,
