Forcing Widget Languages

I know that multi-language Widgets follow the language settings from the system's. But with full fledged apps, you can override this by going into File>Information and de-selecting the language that the system is using, then the app defaults to the next language in the system language list.
Is there a way to circumvent the language setting for specific widgets?

Celia,
I think you can dig inside the Widget contents, rename your default language directory (i.e. add the word "back" at the end), and then rename your preferred language directory to the default language directory.
That may do the trick you want.

  • How to force english language for VC BI Iview

    Hi,
All developments in BI system are english so when users launch VC BI Iview from the portal what ever the logon language in the portal we would like that users get results in english.
In the VC iview, for parameter Forced Request Language we select value English but it doesn't work.
We don't find other iview parameter which allows to do that.
With BEX WEB template iview, we can do that by setting LANGUAGE=EN for parameter Application Parameters in the
    iview.
Do you know how to force English language for VCBI Iview ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Mai

    Hello,
If you use Delta Links between your portal objects (role, workset, page, iview), make sure that the Forced Request Language is set to "English" on the linked iView (which is only accessible from the page, from the workset, from the role...)

  • Forced request language property of Webdynpro iview

    Hi All,
I've a situation with inhibiting translations of a webdynpro iview even though the property "Forced request Language" is set to English.
    Scenario:
1)Two DCs DC1 has language translation files. DC2 does not have any language translations (not needed)
    2)DC2 displays views of DC1
An iview is created out of DC2 and the Forced request language is set to English.
User logs on (his language set to English). Everything is fine.
User logs on (language set to non-english). The problem is, the views of DC1 in DC2 still pickup the translations according to user's language settings where as the views of DC2 appear in english (no translations in the first place).
Meaning, the property Forced request language of the iview is not effective.
Anyone has come across this before? I'm glad for any solution.

  • Acrobat 9 Customization Wizard - Force Installed Language

    Hi,
I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9 Customization Wizard to generate an .MST file to install Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 silently. I've selected in the wizard to install the product in French language. But when the product is installed, it's in English. The users have to manually change the setting in the Preference menu to get the French language.
Is that a "known" bug ? Is there a workaround for it ?
    Thanks.
    Alex Nguyen

first of all make sure the msi you create is indeed an English French and German installer and not just an English one.
Easiest way to check is to see the Acrobat setup file directory which should included 1031.mst 1033 and 1036 mst files as well as the Acrobat msi file.
The option you are referring to in the customization wizard only refers to the language during the installation, not the (UI) language of the installed application.
One way of installing the French version would be to use a command line pointing to the customized mst as well as the required language mst file:
    msiexec /i AcroPro.msi TRANSFORMS="1036.mst;custom.mst" /qb (or /qn or whatever you like)
this will result in a french installation of Acrobat.

  • Forcing the language for portal content to English

    Hi All,
We have to disable all other languages other than english for our portal content, i.e. when the browser language is set to any language other than english for any user, we do not want the standard portal  content to be rendered in that language, but the content should default to English.

  • Force language for one specifc business package only

    Dear collegues,
we have the requirement to force the language for one specific business package only. Other business packages should remain with multiple languages. So therefore I cannot force the language by user. I can force the language by i-view but that doesn't change the top level navigation. I cannot force it by workset or role.
Any clue wether this is possible and how it could be done?
    Best regards
    Tim

    Hi,
I would say that manual actions is the only way to do it...
    What I would do is:
    1. Multiple Property replacement (Portal funtionality) on all object in the BP structure
    2. Manual set the language on the remaining objects
if that not works then as last resort you could...
    3. remove all languages that you do not want to use via, the PCDinspector
Please not that its not best practice to change parameters on the main objects of a BP as updating the BP can result in overwriting your custom set proerties. It's alwayt better to make Deltalink copies first.
SAP propagates the "content mirroring" functionality for it but I'm not a personal fan of it as it sets the inheritance of nested object not the way you would expect.
    Good luck!

  • [Text] 1 language, how to force ?

    Hi,
    Here is my problem.
My Web Dynpro ABAP Application should be made available for 1 language only.
What is the best way to force this language knowing that :
    - WD application is integrated as an iView within EP 7
    - can be called from the Universal Work List (based on customizing done in the SWFVISU transaction)
    - EP users should be able to display the rest of the Portal content in any language they want (this very application would be displayed in the only language available)
Many thanks in advance for your answers.
    Best regards,
    Guillaume

    Hi,
    Thanks,
I specified the ForcedRequestLanguage parameter in the iView and it works great.
I will also have to switch the SWFVISU configuration from WebDynproABAP to iView, for screens call by the Universal Worklist.
    Best regards,
    Guillaume

  • UCCX GET XML Document data - how to force language path

    Hi,
I saw that with UCCX, If the trigger have is language FR_CA, when I will use the Get XML Document Data (docTemp, etc,etc )
It will get the value of the file located in the path of  FR_CA in the document management.
Lets say, If the trigger language is FR_CA, Is there any way I can use the GET XML Document to open a file in the EN_CA in the document management ?
How can I do that ?
ps : The upload document have this function, we can force a language but I have no idea how to handle this with the Get XML Document.
    Thanks

I will attach a screenshot of how you can specify the language folder that the Document lives in, regardless of the language of the Trigger or Contact.
Notice that in the variable I am simply referencing the Document filename.  This will assume the language of the Contact.
But also notice that within the step, I am saying that the Source document should be found in the L[en_CA] language folder. This does not change the language of the Contact; it simply tells the system to look in a different folder for the file.
Of course, if your Document is not language specific, you could always put it in the Default language folder and then it will be available to all Contacts regardless of Language setting.

  • Federated Portal Language change not visible on remote role

    Hi,
Remote role assigment is done on consumer portal. This remote portal role comes from a BI Producer portal.
This roles has worksets and iviews attached to it like km navigation iview etc.
User on consumer portal has options to change his language to french from default english.
Here the issue is, this language change does not reflect or apply to the remote role and its iviews or contents.(It continues to show in english) . But it works without problem o n local roles or ivews as expected.
Any idea on how this language change can be effected on the remote role and its contentc will be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Ashok D

    Hello Ashok,
You must remember that because this is RRA the content will actually run on the producer (unless this is an AI iView).
This means that the language will be determine according to the user's language defined on the producer itself, therefor you have to change the language of that specific user on the producer portal.
If this does not help it might be that the iView is forcing the language, then we'll have to try somehthing else.
Update me with the results of the first triage,
Also have a look at SAP Note # 1295703 under the Language category, it explains the algorithem of determining the language.
    Best Regards,
    Nadav.

  • Multiple languages - Smartforms - Invoices

    Hi,
I'm having problems getting the following scenario to work:
All the texts on the form are displayed like this::
    Polish phrase / foreign translation
Foreign translation: language taken from invoice (i.e. English or German or Italian ).
The problem arises when i want to print Polish characters: 'ąęńś'' etc, some other characters are printed instead, but not hashes ('#').
When a German invoice is to be previewed/printed the OTF instructions contain 'D' language suffix - it screws Polish character set. On the other hand if I modify substitute 'L' for 'D' (thus forcing Polish language) both Polish and German characters are displayed correctly.
Is it possible to configure the system in such a way that regardless of suffix 'D', 'E' or any other the system will always display / print the proper characters  in this scenario ? ( system is not unicode )
    Cheers,
    Bart

    Hi,
Project Online comes out-of-the-box with all languages for the project templates, evenif your instance is configured for a specific language. As far as I know, there is no way to "clean" this up. In my point of view, this is not annoying since
only admins can access to the EPT configuration pages.
    Hope this helps,

  • PORTAL MULTI-LINGUAL AND CHANGE LANGUAGE PROBLEM

I need to implement language change in portal. I can't use the standard Set Language portlet, because my language change mechanism should involve redirection to an other portal page. Is there any API I can use to implement language change behavior? (Example code would be greately appreciated.)
In some cases I need to force the language of some specific portal pages, regardless of the current language setting of the portal. Is there any way to achieve that? I've experience with the default language setting of the page groups, but I've found that the portal ranks this setting below the current language setting of the portal and the "Accept-Language" header of the browser request. I've been thinking of hacks like a servlet filter or an apache mod tricking with the headers (Accept-Language) and cookies (NLS_LANGUAGE) of the browser request, but that's not so clean. So do I have any options to force the language?

I think it's this answer comes late for you, but If anyone it's interested, we use (in version 10.1.4) this function:
    PORTAL.wwctx_app_language.set_language(p_http_language => 'es-es',
                                                           p_nls_language => PORTAL.wwnls_api.SPANISH,
                                                           p_nls_territory => PORTAL.wwnls_api.TER_SPAIN,
                                                           p_requested_url => url);
Where 'url' is the url you want to come back.
Remember you can call any function/procedure by the url: /portal/pls/porta/squema.name_of_the_proc, where you have to substitute squema and name_of_the_proc by tyhe ones you need to call (don't forget privileges).
    Good luck

  • How to disable/remove unwanted language templates in ISE 1.1.1

    We're using ISE's Sponsor/Guest Portal function.
We customized the english default lanuage template.
But we do not want to translate/customize all default language templates.
How can I disable/remove the unwanted templates? (The delete button is disabled for them)
Otherwise our users would be able to select templates that are not customized.

Lots of other ISE users also looking for the same.
An enhancement request has been filed on this:
CSCuc02562   ISE could allow sponsors to specify language templates in sponsor portal
    Symptom:
ISE does not provide a mechanism for a sponsor and/or admin to specify which language templates appear under the "Language Template for Email/SMS Notifications" drop-down when creating a guest. This means that all language templates appear in that drop-down, even unnecessary ones. Eg: Chinese templates might not be needed in Germany, and other way round. This makes the drop-down unnecessarily loaded and unpractical to use.
If the list of language templates grows further with custom templates, the drop-down becomes unpractical.
    Conditions:
Try to specify useful templates for guests in the sponsor portal
    Workaround:
    None
As of now, you can statically assign a language template to a portal instead of relying on browser locale. Under the configuration of the portal, in the Customisation tab, you can force the language template to whatever language you need, by unticking "Use browser locale".
    Customizing the Sponsor Portal
