Forefront TMG 2010 Error from management console

Hi,
I am having a problem connecting to a TMG 2010 array from an installation of TMG management console we are receiving the error 'Refresh Failed' 'Error 0x80070057' ' The Parameter is incorrect'.
The only article i can find on this error is this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2591719 which doesn't seem to apply to our setup or this problem but I have applied Service pack 2 anyway but still get same error. The only other thing i can find is
a few people saying the management console needs to be at the same version as the TMG servers you are trying to connect to but I cannot see how this can be done as when I try to run the service pack on the machine with only the management console I get an
error as the full installation is not there.

Hi,
Firstly, have you found any related information in the event logs?
Nest, you can check the version of the TMG server from the TMG help menu, TMG system node or using Control Panel. For more detailed information, please refer to the link below:
How to Determine Which Version of TMG
Server 2010 Is Installed
In addition, what hotfix rollup or Server pack have you installed? Please refer to the recommended order below:

Version Number Reference

    Hi,
    Could
you please  add a new public folder hierarchies with ADSIEdit as following setups.

  • How to add HTTP Header Response X-Frame-Options:SAMEORIGIN from OWA published via Forefront TMG 2010 to stop Clickjacking

How to add HTTP Header Response X-Frame-Options:SAMEORIGIN from OWA published via Forefront TMG 2010 to stop Clickjacking. I have put the IIS setting X-Frame-Options:SAMEORIGIN  on my Internal CAS Server. However as the OWA page is published through
Forefront TMG 2010, the iFrame tag is not blocked when the page is first opened. Only when you login with your credentials to the OWA page inside the frame and the page reaches IIS on the Internal CAS it gets blocked. I want to block it in the first
instance when it is opened from TMG.

    Hi,
    Thank you for the post.
To modify the http header, please refer to this blog:

  • Publishing Exchange 2013 Outlook Web App with Forefront TMG 2010

    Hello guys,
I have published Exchange 2013 via TMG 2010 with pre-authentication. Since this is the first time I am doing it- I want to ask experts for the explanations:).
When I configure Active Sync on mobile, I just type the password and  it's starts syncing after 20 sec.
When I use browser and trying to login using TMG logon screen, after I enter credentials (if they were not wrong), I get exchange 2013 logon screen ( because my password was checked by DC's).
I have customized TMG tamplate to Exchange 2013 tamplate, but it did not help- I have two logon screens.
Is it possible to configure TMG for showing only one logon screen ( without disabling pre-authentication) ? Does it work this way?
    Did I miss something?

    Hi,
Please try to enable FBA for external and internal OWA 2010 users by the methods in the blog below.
There are several ways to accomplish this:
Have internal users pointed to the internal interface of the Forefront TMG and utilize the forms-based authentication logon page offered by Forefront TMG.
Deploy Forefront UAG instead of Forefront TMG. Forefront UAG allows you to have FBA enabled on both the Exchange 2010 Client Access Servers and on the Forefront UAG solution itself.
Publish Exchange 2010 to the Internet using Forefront TMG but do not configure pre-authentication. This way the users need to go through the Forefront TMG solution, but will authenticate directly against the Exchange 2010 Client Access servers.
Configure an additional OWA and ECP virtual directory on the Exchange 2010 Client Access Servers.
    Reference:http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2010/management-administration/enabling-forms-based-authentication-external-internal-owa-2010-users-exchange-2010-published-using-forefront-tmg-2010-part1.html
    Then check the blog

  • FOREFRONT TMG 2010 CRITICAL ISSUES

    Dear all,
I installed and configured the Microsoft Forefront TMG in my company's network. It's been done two weeks ago. Since then, everything is working fine and all intranet computers have worked well.
This is a two NIC server (LAN and WAN on the same machine) and WINDOWS SERVER 2008 R2 OS.
When I ran the Microsoft Forefront Best Practise Analyzer Tool, I got these two critical errors:
    FIRST
    "Connection to Update Source Failed"
This machine have been upgraded normally from Microsoft Update service, I really do not know the why about this issue.
    SECOND
"The primary configuration storage server failed to respond on port 2172"
Thia second issue appears twice on the critical erros listed.
Can you guys help me on that?
    Clemilson Correia IT Specialist

    Hi,
    Thank you for your post
Port 2172 is used as the SSL control channel for authentication to the LDAP ADAM directory used by the Enterprise Management Service.  Since you stated that these are part of a domain, this error is probably benign in that.  So, with that said,
let’s look at that error and how to troubleshoot it.
    1. Use ADSIEdit.MSC to troubleshoot.
    2. For “Connection Point”, select the radio button for “Select or type a Distinguished Name or Naming Context:” In the text box, enter (without quotes): “cn=fpc2”.
    3. For Computer, use “Select or type a domain or server: (Server|[:port]) and in the text box enter {name or IP address of the EMS server}:2171.
    4. If the EMS server is able to be cot acted from the array node, then you will see a successful connect and be able to expand out the LDS tree.
If you are successful in this connection, then there is probably nothing to worry about.  If you cannot, please let me know and we can go about looking at reasons why it is unable to connect.

  • DS XI3.2 SP1 - Problem when starting RFC server from management console

    Hi,
We're using DataServices XI 3.2 SP1 FP1 on a windows 2008 server 64bits to load SAP BW. We have set up an external system in SAP BW called "DI_SOURCE" and then successfully created a RFC server interface (DI_SOURCE) within the management console.
When we try to start this RFC server from the management console, we immediately get the following error message : "An internal error occurred in: server.start()::rfc_bad_connection".
On the other hand, when we follow the "old method" (pre SP2) and start the RFC server from a command window, it works : we have "CONNECTION DI_SOURCE OK" in SAP BW.
Any ideas how to solve this ?
    Thanks,
    Olivier

    Hi,
We have tried your suggestions above.
Instead of just crashing we now get an error from designer (before closing down). Seems as if our librfc32.dll has a problem.
We have verified that the librfc32.dll from the Data Services package is the only one on the server.

  • Security Permissions from Management Console Not Being Replicated on SQL Server Database

    Hi Everyone,
We have been encountering issues with access to Reporting Services for most console users since we upgraded to SCCM 2012 R2. We have observed that since the R2 upgrade, security permissions
that are set in the console are not being replicated on the SQL database. Users/Groups that had access prior to the R2 upgrade are now only able to access Reports via the web interface. All new users/groups are not able to get access at all.
We are not sure what the problem could be and would appreciate any guidance.
We have tried the following without success:
Manually adding new users/groups to the database
Reinstalling the the Reporting Service point and Reporting Service, Removing all of the security groups from the console and from the database, and Adding the security groups back
    to the console.
    Our current environment:
    SCCM 2012 R2
    1 Site
    Primary Site:
    OS: Server 2008 R2
Roles: Site Server / Software Update Point / Management
    Point
    SQL Server
    OS: Server 2008 R2
SQL Version: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2
Roles: Site Database Server / Reporting Services Point

    Thanks for your feedback.
    Permissions
We have two main types of users: Full Administrators and local departmental IT administrators. (Local IT Admins only have full control over their own departmental collections. They have Read/Add to All Systems.)
The only account that's currently able to run Reports from both the console and web is the admin account used to perform the R2 upgrade.
    Full Administrator
    Role: Full Administrator
Scope: All instances of the objects that are related to the assigned security roles.
    Local Departmental Administrator
    Role: Full Administrator & Read/Add
Scope: Main Departmental Collection (Full Admin) & All Systems, All Users, and All User Groups (Read/Add)
    Report Service Execution
On the database, we have tried assigning the Report Service Execution Account to the built-in Network Service Account, Local Service Account, and to a separate AD role account.
    Error Messages
Console: We are able to select reports from the Console however nothing appears when we click on Run.
Web: Generating Reports from the Web works for only the Full Administrators. Nothing appears for a Local Departmental Admin.

  • Logon to WebGUI from Management Console with wrong Ports

    Hello SDN,
I install the new SAP Management Console on my workstation. It works perfectly exept logon to abap through WebGUI.
If I cklick on to <SAP Logon...> from the context menue of the ABAP instanz, I get a browser with an URL   http://<host>:50000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui. That doesn't work because the Port of ICM is 8000.
How I can setup the right port?
    Many Thanks in advance
    Vladimir

    Hi,
many thanks for your answer, but something is not clear.
I call SAP MC with such URL  http://server1:50013/sapmc/sapmc.html
The ABAP System that I want to logon is under the URL http://server2:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui reachable.
If I try to logon from SAP MC I get an URL http://server2:50000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui
    ICM on server1
icm/server_port_0 is setup for HTTP 8000 on abap side(server2). This is ABAP only ERP 6.00 system
    ICM on server2
    icm/HTTP/j2ee_0 = PREFIX=/,HOST=localhost,CONN=0-500,PORT=5$$00
icm/server_port_0 is setup for HTTP 80$$
The question is - what ICM use SAP MC in that case?
Where I schould maintene the ICM parameters?

  • Removing Exchange 2007 Server from Management Console List

    Hello,
We have an organization with a single Exchange 2007 Server running in production. It is working fine.
However, we brought up another server (we'll call it the secondary server for purposes of this thread) and linked it into this organization several months ago. Our plans for this box changed and we have kept it powered off, unlicensed, and unused.
Now, when we manage our production server, the management console keeps complaining about how the secondary server is almost at the end of its trial period, needs licensed, etc.
Since we might or might not use the secondary server in the future, it is possible to "unlink" it (or set it dormant somehow) from the server list to stop the license warnings? Or is our only recourse to remove Exchange and take it down if we don't
intend to license it and bring it into production? Our hope is that it can wait in the wings until such time as we decide to user & license it.
What are the implications if we ignore the license warnings and continue not to use it? Will it impact management of the production server at all or just continue to annoy?
    TIA, Tom W.
    JTW

    Hello,
"What are the implications if we ignore the license warnings and continue not to use it? Will it impact management of the production server at all or just continue to annoy?"
You should have all production servers licensed but after trial period expiration the server will have all Exchange capabilities and features. Also trial period expiration should not have any negative impact on your environment. The EMC will simply prompt
    to license that server correctly.
"Our plans for this box changed and we have kept it powered off, unlicensed, and unused."
In my opinion it is bad idea to have Exchange server installed but powered off. Note that this server still resides as object in Active Directory and it may complicate any future modifications of your environment (migration to newer versions of Exchange
etc.). I think you should use this server to provide some kind of high availability (and provide proper license for it) or remove it completely.
Once again: trial expiration is not a problem from server's functionality perspective, Exchange server powered down - it can be a problem.

  • RV042 behind Forefront TMG 2010 (SOLVED)

Currently i am having a scenario where i have setup RV042 and  which is connected to Microsoft Forefront 2010. PPTP works fine only on  rv042 subnet but i am not able to access the "internal" network of TMG.
    RV042 (172.16.1.1) ---> TMG [external] (172.16.1.2) ---> TMG [internal] (192.168.1.1)
Is there any way through static route to access the TMG internal network through RV042 pptp server ?

Well after expecting experts views from so long, i took help from one of  my senior where i had to make changes in NETWORK RULES of TMG by  creating Internal to External & External to Internal rules for 5  PPTP ip addresses and it started working. This is how it helped.
    Common troubleshooting steps :
    1.  Check the IP address of TMG if it is pinging through RV042 firmware.
    2.  If not pinging than create a policy to allow PING into internal network.
    3.  Do the STATIC ROUTING in RV042 by keeping the IP address as TMG internal ip & gateway as TMG wan static ip.
    4. Ping to confirm if you are having access through the router to TMG using PING utility of RV042.
    5.  Once you are able to PING than , enable PPTP and connect from the  remote side and PING the WAN static ip of TMG and any of the INTERNAL ip  of TMG network.
    6. If you are not able to ping TMG internal network by just STATIC ROUTING from RV042
    7.  Than you need to create two rules under NETWORK RULES of FOREFRONT  (check this option in FOREFRONT management window) , first you need to  create a range of PPTP ip addresses in SUBNET category of TMG and use  these range of ip addresses in the rules we are going to create.
    8. Create SOURCE (PPTP IP ADDRESS RANGE) to INTERNAL and INTERNAL to (PPTP IP ADDRESS RANGE)
    9. That's it , i am sure you will be able to ping it from the remote and so does access the resources of TMG network.
Please if any one have any doubts, post it here. Ill be really glad to help. Thank you.

  • Generate WSDL File from Management Console?

    Hi,
I am trying to enable a batch job as a web service. So I registered the batch I want and I copied the whole file from the u201CView WSDLu201D button. Now I am trying to use axis1.1 to generate the code and am getting errors. Is this supposed to generate a fully working WSDL file?
The first error I get is
    org.xml.sax.SAXException: Error: URI=file:/c:/axis/BO.wsdl Line=10: Undeclared prefix in name: "xsd:schema".
            at org.apache.axis.utils.XMLUtils$ParserErrorHandler.error(XMLUtils.java:619)

            at org.apache.axis.wsdl.gen.Parser$WSDLRunnable.run(Parser.java:245)
            at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
    So I add
    xmlns:xsd=http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema
to my WSDL file. Then I get
    org.xml.sax.SAXException: Error: URI=file:/c:/axis/BO.wsdl Line=1393: Undeclared prefix

    So I add
    xmlns:soap=http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/
Now I am getting other errors

So I was curious if this was supposed to be the complete WSDL file?
    Thanks in advance

I tried with 11.7.3.7, using the following command and using axis jar files that are bundled with DI
it did generate the java classes successfully
I don't think there is much difference between 11.7.3.5 and 11.7.3.7
    java -classpath "C:\j2sdk1.4.2_18\lib\tools.jar;%LINK_DIR%\ext\lib\axis.jar;%LINK_DIR%\ext\lib\commons-logging.jar;%LINK_DIR%\ext\lib\commons-discovery.jar;%LINK_DIR%\ext\lib\saaj.jar;%LINK_DIR%\ext\lib\jaxrpc.jar;%LINK_DIR%\ext\lib\wsdl4j.jar;%LINK_DIR%\ext\lib\log4j-1.2.8.jar" org.apache.axis.wsdl.WSDL2Java -a c:\axis\BO.wsdl
let me know if its works for you, otherwise will check in 11.7.3.5
how are you using these classes ? for calling a Job published as web service, you could write a simple java client application and passing the SOAP request for calling the batch job

  • Error from MMC-console

    Hi!
If I start Windows I am getting the mmc-popup-error "Would you like to send it to..".
I have heared about Microsoft patches.
<b>Can you give me the appropriate SAP-note for that or further information?</b>
I use Windows Enterprise Server 2003, 64 bit
    Thank you very much.
    regards

I had to reflect a while what you are talking about.
did you describe the situation that:
after starting windows and loging in you get a popup with a message that an application has crashed (I did currently not remember the right text).
you where asked what to do with this information (sending or not it to MS).
there is not general SAP Note on how to handle this, because it depends on the application crashing. Typically it makes no sence to send it to MS.
The general recommendation is: yes, configure Windows Update to at least inform you about patches and install at least the driver patches and security fixes on a regular basis (security fixes timely close to their release date).
If SAP applications are crashing: get the latest fixes from Service Market Place and install them.
    regards

  • Authentication Error from Room Console

    Hey,
trying to add rooms and getting an "Authentication Error".
I understand there is no limit to the amount of rooms that could  be made. Maybe its how we are naming them? room100 ?
Also, is there any recommended way to 'stress test' the site. I'm guessing we would only need to worry about our server and LCCS should scale as needed.
    thanks.
    ...russ

Now its suddenly working fine..dont know what was wrong before..
    Thanks for the answers.

    Hi Xuan,
It depends on your selected authentication method.
I recommend you refer to the following article, it will give you some hints:
