Forgot to use burnrecovery before updating to windows 8.1

Hi Guys,
I reset my system (GT70-2OC) back to factory default few months back and then updated to windows 8.1 and forgot to make a burn recovery image.
I don't know why but i thought of making an image of the recovery 2 days ago and been googling since then because the burnRecovery app is not working. and gives the error: "your computer's disk partitions are not default factory configurations."
I checked in disk management i have 2-3 recovery partitions which are of sizes around 600MB and 100 MB and are 100% free.
did updating to windows 8.1 removed my recovery partition? if not how can i get it now?
if it removed it then how can i get back or any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Hi there,
If your system is built by a SSD+HDD, then the recovery image would be stored in the HDD as a hidden partition.
I think the hidden patition size would be 1x GB.
And back to the recovery story, it's definite that WIN8.1 upgrade would change MSI WIN8 recovery patition structure, since you didn't make the backup, the only way is conatcting the local service center to get MSI OS back.

Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.

I basically need to know how could I fix this problem. I know that the iphone needs to have a decent perfomance regarding the battery life, since I've had it for less than 6 months now.

Which drivers to install before upgrading to Windows 8.1

Hi,
i have a HP Pavilion g6-2253ca Notebook PC which is running on Windows 8 (64-bit).
I am following the steps as recommended by HP and haver successfully run the HP Comaptibility Test. I have also installed all Windows updates.
According to the HP Update instructions, I have to install the latest version of drivers for my Windows 8 system before updating to Windows 8.1. I went online to the HP Support and keyed in my Product Number and returned a long list of drivers.
My question are:
How can I tell which driver I should download and install?
Some of the drivers also indicate older version are available. What does that mean? Does it mean that both the new and older version should be downloaded and installed?

Hi Anita,
A 32 GB flash drive will work provided it is not designated as a "Windows 8" flash drive.
There is an operating system drop down selection for the Windows 8.1 drivers.
I wouldn't get too concerned about installing all of the HP Windows 8 drivers as the upgrade will install its own drivers. Then after the upgrade you should consider installing the Windows 8.1 updates as listed on the HP Support site for your model PC. You should also run the Windows 8.1 update and you should pickup even more recent update patches.
The important update issue is to make sure the Windows 8 has all of the Microsoft Windows 8 updates applied. On the Windows 8 start screen, type windows update and then run the update and if it applies updates make sure the process finishes then reboot.
When you upgrade to Windows 8.1 you will be given two choices: save nothing or save my files, my settings and most apps. If you are using Windows 8 live mail then back those files up to external media separately to external media.

Lenovo Y570 problems after updating to Windows 10 from Windows 7

Hi everyone, I updated my operating system to Window 10 from Windows 7 four days ago and I am having a ton of problems. I lost a lot of my Lenovo interface options as well... One of the worst and most annoying problems is that randomly, for half a second, the computer stops and thinks which freezes up my typing. If I am writing something, when it wants to freeze it prevents me from typing that letter. It basically overrides my keyboard well it does that freezing for half a second. Also, when I have a drop down menu it will close when this happens or when I right click, the menu will disappear when this "glitch" happens. One of the biggest clues I found is under the task manager. In the Processes tab, when this "glitch" happens "Windows Problem Reporting" pops up for a half second. I am not sure if that is causing this problem or if something goes wrong and "Windows Problem Reporting" pops up because of something else? Is there a way to check and see what these "Windows Problem Reporting" are? My other problems are that my fan control does not work anymore. I had the option to control the speed and the sound of my fan before updating to Windows 10. Would Lenovo or Windows 10 ever going to sent a drive to fix this problem? Also, I can not control my GPU switch anymore. Before the update I could change my GPU from Intel HD card to Geforce 555M. Now I have no idea what GPU I am using and how to go back and forth. Is there a fix for this? Since all these problems occurred with the Windows 10 update, would it be better for me to go back to Windows 7 and wait to see if Lenovo and Windows ever going to create drives for Lenovo Y570? Is it advisable to switch back W7 and switch back to W10 later?

Cant enable tuchpad while typing after updating to windows 10!

So yesterday I updated my Pavilion to windows 10 and I used to have a problem when I could not type while holding down a key in windows 8 but I fixed that by turning off smartsense but that wont work in windows 10.. I put all my old touchpad settings I had on windows 8 to windows 10 but I am haveing no luck and have found no solution to this problem! Any help is appreciated please respond!

(1) Checked Setting, set to automatic update whenever, even changed to never update, rebooted the OS and changed back to automatic update and rebooted the OS.
(2) Stopped Windows Update Services, renamed SoftwareDistribution folder and started the window update services and rebooted.
(3) Ran MS FIXIT
(4) Ran System File checker Scan (sfc /scannow)
(5) Ran CHKDSK /F
(6) Installed "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" drivers from Lenovo site
(7) Ran Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB971033)
None of the above possible recommended solutions were able to fix the issue yet and now I am getting a message your Window is Not Genuine!
Any help or guidance is appreciated.

The Lenovo System Update installed the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver 8.9.2.1002" right before the Windows Upgrade got broken. So in the Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, I choose Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller, on the Driver Tab, I choose the option "Roll Back Driver" and after rolling back the driver and restarting the OS, now Windows Update is working like a Champ!

All I am trying to do is enable "one click" functions for downloading gifts on Farmtown. I am on Windows Vista; have upgraded to Firefox5; updated Java today. Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?

Install or Reinstall OS X from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
      left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
      the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
      the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
           because it is three times faster than wireless.

Microsoft Updates after Windows 7 Deployment using MDT 2010 Update 1

Hello,
After I deploy Windows 7 using MDT 2010 Update 1, i'm prompted to download and install updates. Updates which were installed prior to the capture process. During the capture process, does something reset Windows Update and makes it think the updates were
not installed?
My process of building a custom image is as follows:
1. PXE boot and kick-off a build task sequence (install OS + drivers + soe applications). (protectmypc = 3 in unattend.xml)
2. Download and install all Microsoft Updates, configure the OS, configure third-party applications.
3. Map a network drive to my deployment share, run litetouch.vbs and kick-off a capture task sequence.
4. PXE boot and kick-off a deployment task sequence. (copy profile = true, protectmypc = 1 in unattend.xml)

I'm getting updates but they are new updates. We have updates turned off through Group Policy and after an image is deployed it is attempting to install updates which should not be installed through Windows. I also have the protectmypc setting set to 3
and have updates turned off before capture. Something is searching for updates and during the deployment process and I need to find out how to stop this from happening. Someone has to know where these updates are coming from.
