Form background

Hey guys,
I created a form in DW and added a background image via the
page properties window. I can view it just fine in the design
window, however, in preview, the background is missing. Is there an
extra step to putting a background behind a form, or have I just
forgotten something that is pretty basic? The web page is:

Thanks again for all of your help.

The only reference to a image I can see is in your styles for
this bg image,
body {
background-image:
url(/backgrounds1/bg_with_menu_detail.gif);
background-color: #031F51;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background: center top;
for the body of the page which is not there and this one in a
table above
the form <img src="transparent.gif"
not sure where the one your talking about would be.

  • Smart forms background logo

    Hi
    Please clarify me regarding smart forms background logo. I'm trying to migrate sap script into smart forms, for the background logo in smart form is it required to write ABAP code, please let me know?
    2) Is it possible for background pictures in script? Is there any document regarding logo/pictures in sap script or smartforms? is there standard forms like purchase order etc., in smart forms? Please correct me If i'm wrong...
    Regards
    sree reddy

    Hi
    Background LOGOS are possible only in smartforms not in Scripts
    see the logo printing for Scripts and Smartforms and the important smartforms and scripts with their programs
                   SAP SCRIPT
    To create a logo in SAP printouts just do the following
    1. Save a Logo using Imaging, Paint shop Pro or Corel Draw as Tiff file.
    2. Run  program RSTXLDMC and enter the following parameters
       Enter file name                     C:\COMPLOGO.TIF
       UOM                           CM
        Line width for text                132
        Text name                     ZHEX-MACRO-COMPLOGO
        Text ID                          ST
        Text language = E
        Number of Tiff gray levels (2,4,9) 2
    3.  Then Create a new window 'COMP' with attributes;
    Window COMP description Company Logo
    Left margin 7.00 CH window width 10.00 CH
    Upper margin LN window height 8.00 LN
    Finally in the text element, mention
            /: INCLUDE 'ZHEX-MACRO-COMPLOGO' OBJECT TEXT ID ST LANGUAGE 'E'.
    Please note that if object name is not indicated as 'ZHEX...’ the logo may not be printed!
    You will not be able to see the logo in a test print. The same will be printed in actual printout.
                          SMARTFORM
    1)     In Smart Forms Editor, In left pane, right Click any Page (say Page1) and select Create -> Window, Give it a name and Description (Say Window1)
    2) Right Click on Window (Window 1) and select Create -> Graphics, Give it a name and description
    3) In general Attributes, Select Name, get search help (F4) , you will find a list of pictures
    4) Select any picture and set its Resolution in DPI
    5) Press F9 to open Smart Forms Builder, Select window (Window1) and In Output options window set, size and   position of the Logo
    6) Set any other parameters if required, save and activate.
    7) If there is only 1 Window in the forms, set it as Main Window in general attributes.
    8) Use  TCode SE78 to upload new pictures and logos.

  • Closing the Forms Background Page closes the Java-Window as well

    Hi,
    we are running Forms 10g and start the Applet in an separate window. This cannot be changed, because otherwise we lose some size of the Window and the Look and Feel is to different as with Client-Server mode.
    If a User closes the Background-Window or starts a different URL in the Background-Window, the Java Applet is closed directly without any warning.
    This isn't nice for the Users, but they have to live with it.
    But if I'm running a couple of Forms-Sessions in the Applet maybe with Database-Locks as well, and somebody closes the BG-Window, those Forms-Sessions (frmweb.exe) keep running for ~ 5-10 Minutes and the Locks are kept as well.
    Is this behaviour intentional or can it be changed ?
    Any comments are welcome.
    Mark

    Hi Craig,
    in principle I agree that it might be a training issue, but ...
    the default setup for the IE at this customer-site is that Links don't open in a new window. We may change that, but who knows.
    With this setting, the following happens quite normally.
    Forms is started which leeds to the "Background-Window" and the Java-Applet.
    If i minimize all windows and start f.e. Citrix or any other URL-Link, that link is opened in the Background-Window and the Forms-Java-Applet dies.
    In theory this can be avoided by training, but I do not agree, that it is a reasonable behaviour to check all open windows before I start a new URL.
    It just doesn't make sense in my opinion. It might be difficult to solve, but it still doesn't make sense.
    But we've found a solution ourself at least for the accidential closing of the Backgrund-Window :
    In formswegh.cfg we had a line like :
    =======
    HTMLbeforeForm=<_p align=center><_b>nicht schliessen</_b></_p><_p align=center><_b>sonst wird die</_b></_p><_p align=center><_b>Anwendung abgebrochen !</_b></_p>"
    =======
    we added an onBeforeUnload so that it looks like :
    =======
    HTMLbeforeForm=<_BODY onBeforeUnload="return ' Achtung Anwendung wird geschlossen !'"><_p align=center><_b>nicht schliessen</_b></_p><_p align=center><_b>sonst wird die</_b></_p><_p align=center><_b>Anwendung abgebrochen !</_b></_p>
    =======
    This leads to an "Is it OK"-question as soon as the BG-Windows is closed or another URL is called. This prohibits the Users of accident closing. If they still do it, it's their fault and than it is a training question.
    Thanks for your input and maybe this help some others as well.

    P.S.
    the underlines before the p's and b's need to be deleted. Just because they are interpreted as HTML otherwise

  • Acrobat 8 Pro, change form background

    Hi there,
    We are currently making a lot of interactive forms in Acrobat.
    We design the form in InDesign, and then export as PDF and generate a form on that.
    But sometimes there is a small change in the InDesign file, and we have to create the entire form + all the actions and JavaScripts.
    Is there a way to keep the form layer and just change the PDF background of the file?
    I hope I am making any sense,

  • Forms Background (URGENT)

    I am trying to figure out how to put a background in the forms applet window
    there is a background parameter in the formsweb.cfg but it is not displaying the gif
    Please help ASAP

    Hi,
    if you would start the forms application using the static html method the background image would be searched for in the directory that holds the html file. For the cgi methoud you can either try setting the gif file in the same directory as the ifcgi60 executable, but better is to specify a virtual path to the directory holding the background gif file and have your webserver map this virtual directory holding the gif file.
    e.g.
    background=/images/background.gif

  • Windows form background image refresh.

    Hi, I am assigning a different background image to the windows control.  The update does not seem to have any effect after the assignment.  Even after refresh or form invalidate statement.  Any aideas?  I am using vb 2010

    Hi, I am assigning a different background image to the windows control.  The update does not seem to have any effect after the assignment.  Even after refresh or form invalidate statement.  Any aideas?  I am using vb 2010
    Which windows control? Is this a WPF project or Windows.Forms project or something else? Unless the image is being drawn then Refresh or Invalidate should not be required.
    Windows.Forms PictureBox.
    PictureBox1.BackgroundImageLayout = Stretch (or whatever precedes stretch too).
    PictureBox1.BackgroundImage = (a bitmap or Image.FromFile("Some path/Some filename.File extension") or something similar).
    or
    PictureBox1.Image = (like the above but the PictureBox probably needs to be sized to the size of the image first or not).

  • Processes&Forms: Background scenario step

    Hello,
    I have been requested to develop a process to generate employee's certificates, basically with following flow:
      1 employee selects a certificate (advanced backend service that can show additional criteria based on certificate selected)  - done
      2 system selects the certificate template (smartform) and generates PDF - done
      3 attach PDF to process as an attachment
      4 send email with attachment and process details
    for point 3, i need to attach the PDF to a process. I thought about 2 solutions:
              - create a step in same scenario for attachment -  but then i need this step to be concluded in backend of workflow (no dialog)
              - create a specific scenario for attachment generation - same difficulty as above
    basically i need to know how to conclude a scenario step programmatically by adding an attachment to that step.
    Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
    Regards,
    Carla Sousa

    A few things I would do to handle this differently....
    I am assuming the employee is notified some how that they have been awarded a certificate? No? Yes?
    1. You don't need an "advanced" service for this...just a regular backend generc service will do.
    2. have your Adobe form be your certificate then filled in with the employee's data from the backend service.
    3. the employee can then print/save the form as they wish.
    If this is driven by HR (ie. award the employee)....
    1. same thing....no "advanced" service needed.
    2. merge employee data into your Adobe form (which is the certificate).
    3. HR admin completes the "certification for employee".
    4. now workflow could pick this up if additional approvals are needed or send to the employee.
    5. employee is notified (via email) of the award/certificate and follows link in email or through portal or NWBC to the process. From there, like above, they can print/save the cert as needed.
    Now, if you are using FPM and/or you absolutely have to have an attachment added, then you simply need to look at SAP's own  code for how a user does that and just mimic it. I have done it in the past for processes where I need my form within the process to check for an attachment included and used SAP's own standard functions to "read" attachments. Same idea.
    Good luck!

  • What is the best way to migrate from Forms to ADF?

    We are in a big quagmire. Our company has been into Oracle Forms development for over 15 years. We have applications developed in Forms 6i and 10g. We have about 5 products and these 5 products have about 25 to 30 different versions. i.e. we maintain about 30 different versions of our applications. Each version of the application has about 100 forms and 100 reports.
    Now, since Forms has come to the End of life from 11g we want to move to ADF. We tried Forms to ADF migration tools but failed. So now we have decided to manually rewrite the applications in ADF.
    Our Forms / PL/SQL developers, designers and analysts (total about 40) are all Oracle Forms people. They have no experience in Java.
    What I want to know is:
    (1.) What is the BEST way to achieve this?
    (2.) Do we have to learn Java, JSF and ADF?? (i.e. All 3)?
    (3.) Is it mandatory to learn JSF??
    (4.) Assuming, comprehensive training can be given, how long will it take for Forms people to learn ADF?
    (5.) What type of training will be required?? (Java, JSF, ADF, JDeveloper etc.)
    (6.) How LONG will this take? i.e. to train all 40 and then get rewrite an application of 100+ forms and 100+ reports? (Ballpark is OK).
    (7.) Any other technologies we should learn??
    Edited by: user12240205 on Jul 18, 2012 5:48 AM

    Obvoiusly the longer you have for training the better but I think the minimum would be
    1) Java skills - I think to start off, 1 or two days reading something like Head First Java http://www.amazon.com/Head-First-Java-Kathy-Sierra/dp/0596009208
    2) I'd then get "The Quick Start Guide to Fusion Development" http://www.amazon.com/Quick-Start-Oracle-Fusion-Development/dp/0071744282/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1343201618&sr=1-1&keywords=jdeveloper+quick (declaration: I'm the author so have a vested interest, but I still think its a good place to start. - this should be about 2-3 days to read and also to try things out.
    3) In parallel I'd be watching these ADF Insider Basics http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/adfinsider-093342.html#a1 - a couple of hours
    4) I'd then try this tutorial http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/jdev/obe11jdev/ps1/ria_application/developriaapplication_long.htm - 3 hours.
    5) Optionally, if you are coming from a Forms background I would also read http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/SummitADF/SummitADF_Redevelopment.pdf and watch http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/Forms_Redevelopment_ADF/Forms_Redevelopment_ADF.html - which is about 2 hours of work.
    I think this would be the absolute MINIMUM to at least be able to build some basic applications and to start feeling your way - everything else outlined in the "ADF COLLATERAL TOUR" http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/ADFTour/ADFTour.html could be learned as you start building some proof of concept. However, I'd wouldn't suggest you try building a real application with only one weeks exposure (in the same way I wouldn't expect you to design a product database with only one week training). I would probably expect your developers to have at least the above training and then spend about a month or so (minimum) building proof of concepts (or testing themselves with the ADF Insider Essentials Tasks). Furthermore, I'd probably expect you to have at least on senior developer/architect, with much more experience who can be making decisions on things like reuse, partitioning, architecture etc.
    Of course, this is all subjective but I hope it helps.
    regards
    Grant
    ps
    Of course, we also have formal Oracle University Training courses which you could attend (or they can be purchased to watch on line).

  • Swing/bc4j - not visible gif stored in blob thru forms

    I have problem with displaying gifs stored in blob column through Forms. If the very same files are stored through swing client they are visible in both swing and forms application.
    In thread Displaying jpeg in JSP I saw that the reason for irregular blob behaviour could be its "forms background". What is exactly problem?
    Is it possible to update blob column in database somehow (reloading over 2000 gifs will be pretty uncomfortable and slow) ?
    I am using JDev 9.0.5.1 build 1605, DB 8.1.7., Forms 6i.

    It appears that Forms, while storing gifs, uses compression apparently not handled by JUImageControl. More on Metalink 16035040.6

  • Populate row of master detail form with selection from LOV?

    Hi Guys,
    Total noobe, Hope you can help me out with a project I am working on in Oracle Apex 4.1 with 11g XE
    I am sure this is a simple enough issue but I just can’t see the solution.
    I have a table called ‘STOCK’ this contains all new parts and delivery details.
    ‘STOCK_ID’ NUMBER PK
    ‘DELIVERY DATE ‘ DATE
    ‘PART’ VARCHAR2
    ‘PART_SN’ VARCHAR2
    ‘PART_AN’ VARCHAR2
    ‘INSTALLED’ CHECKBOX
    I have a table that list all the current physical locations of hardware for example
    ID, Till number, store location etc…
    I have an table to list the devices and modification to the hardware in these store locations.
    Move Date, Device, Device Serial number, Device Asset Number, Comments
    I have a report & form that displays all the current physical locations of hardware and a master detail form linked to this to add devices and modifications to each store location.
    I have a LOV setup on the Devices column that is based on a simple select query
    SELECT PART from STOCK
    ORDER BY 1
    This provides me the list of parts in the stock table.
    What I need to figure out is how do I get the data from the ‘STOCK’ table when I select a part in the LOV to auto populate ‘DEVICE_SN’ ‘DEVICE_AN’ in my master detail tubular form. this information is contained in the 'PART_SN' & 'PART_AN' columns of the STOCK table.
    I also need to figure out how to identify the part because by default the LOV only displays one column and I have no idea which part I am selecting other than by name. i could use a popup LOV and scan a barcode into the search box and get the retuen value to display the part name in the field.
    I also would like to reduce the number of records displayed in the LOV by using the ‘INSTALLED’ checkbox i.e. if checked this part has been used and will not be available for selection. The ‘PART_SN’ field can be duplicated as we often get the same part back again as a replacement after repair but this should be valaditated against i.e if the parts is ticked as installed and not available for selection in the list it can be added again this could possibly be validated based on the ‘DELIVERY DATE‘?
    I hope this make some sense to you guys if you need any further details let me know.
    Cheers
    Darren

    Hi,
    I am from the Oracle Forms background too and I have been using Oracle Apex for a while. Oracle Forms is just like client-server application although it uses the Forms servlet to render its Web front-end. I think...if you're really trying to develop true-Web application, you should try to forget such features as "master with many details" in Oracle Forms. Loading all the details in a single page will cause overheads anyway. When you discover more about ajax and such third-party javascript libraries as jquery and mootools, you'll have a different mind of Web development.
    Thanks.

    You have set the background color of the form to white is that what you want?
    form {
    background-color:#FFF;
    Unless you contain the form within a container or set it at a specific width it will just stretch across the page hence the white space you are seeing.
