i have a Master_Detail form, FORM2
"LN_HEAD" table, that has 3 primary key;
ln_code
ln_no
ln_emp_code
"LN_DET" table has foreign key; Relation is set at form design time.
lnd_ln_code
lnd_ln_no
lnd_ln_emp_code
Form2 is called from Form1 on press of a button "bt1"
When-BT1_press, i am only initializing :GLOBAL.LN_CODE = 'LCD'
in FORM2 PRE-FORM
I am initializing LN_CODE := :GLOBAL.LN_CODE and setting initial value property of the field LN_CODE to :GLOBAL.LN_CODE
when the form displayed for the first time,,and i press F7 or Query button,form is going in field LN_EMP_CODE and
asking me to enter LN_EMP_CODE, as it is required field.
i also tried settng LN_EMP_CODE required property to false at design time and at WNFI, but then its firing WVI of LN_EMP_CODE
and raises form-failure message "emp does not exists'.
at form and ln_head block level i gave trigeer KEY-ENTQRY
CLEAR_RECORD;
CLEAR_BLOCK(NO_VALIDATE);
ENTER_QUERY;
but still not going in query mode. whats the matter? Has any1 face this issue before?
please advice me.

Exiting form after being in query mode

Hi guys,
Having an issue with some forms after migrating from forms version 6i to 10g. Learning as I go along.
Forms which startup in query-mode seem to have an issue when closing - all have two blocks - one block is utilised through user query and the other (like a child) displays the query results and can be updated from here. If the user does not enter a query they can cancel it using exit_form which works fine.
After a query has been completed the system mode returns to 'normal' mode (which I can see through debugging by entering messages/pauses throughout the code). However when exiting the application breaks with error FRM-92100. I have had this problem before with regards to exiting forms but I got round this by having an open window (acting as a parent or root window) in the background which is not closable. Been tweaking the form all afternoon including using exit_form(no_validate) and other changes. By commenting out enter_query and execute_query commands the form closes as normal without issue which means it is related to query mode or something along these lines.
If anyone has any ideas or pointers on how to move forward with this it would be much appreciated.

The form currently uses exit_form twice in order to close the query mode and I receive a message "query cancelled" to confirm this.
I have also tried - and retried for the benefit of confirming this - the code you have mentioned u3 - using it in the when-window-closed trigger. I chose <option> to be no_validate.
The main app is opened from a webpage. Forms are opened from a menu which is attached to all forms. The code that opens the forms is open_form (i.e. not call_form or new_form) for modal reasons.
The application is disconnected straight after exit_form is used - its as if coming out of query-mode to normal causes this as I said before closes gracefully when I remove the enter_query command.
As for the error message itself here is a fuller picture:
FRM-92100: Your connection to the server was interrupted. This may be the result of a network error, or a failure on the Server. You will need to reestablish your session.

update - There is a 'dirty' workaround to this problem - if i minimize the window (change its state in any way) after the mode is back from query-mode to normal THEN close the window it closes gracefully.

File Upload applet not opening in Query Mode

File Upload Applet is opening in Query Mode in Siebel 7.5, where as in Siebel 7.8 its not opening in Query Mode.
Should anything be changed in CFG? or siebel restricted this?

There is a property called "Auto Query Mode" in the applet. Check whether this has been set to "New Query" in 7.5. If so the applet will be opening in Query Mode automatically. If this property is blank, in 7.8, the applet will not be opening in Query mode. Check and let me know.

If it's an original iPhone, you may as well dispose of it responsibly and buy a new phone. Apple stopped servicing them a while ago.

PXI-8431 not going into receive mode with VB6

I am using a PXI-1045 chassis with a PXI-8431 RS422/485 card and communicating via a VB6 program
The output of the PXI-8431 RS485 module works OK when it is in send mode, the signal levels are approx 1v and 3v for high and low, but when it is in receive mode the outputs remain at 1v and 3v instead of going into passive mode and both lines floating at approx 2v with approx 300mV differential as they should. This means when the remote devices send, the amplitude of the signal is approx half as they are competing with the PXI module, and that the centre point of the two signals are at 1v and 3v respectively. Our software does not receive the signals from the PXI module which is consistent with my theory that it is still in send mode and taking control of the lines, or maybe it has changed it to 4 wire mode.
I have swapped over the PXI card and the remote cards with our good system and the problem does not move.
I have eliminated ALL the hardware on the new ring by replacing it with a 67 Ohm resistor on the pins of a 9 way D connector plugged onto the PXI card directly. With a scope I can see that the new system is not going into passive mode, but with the same connector the old system works OK.
The only difference I can see between the 6 old rigs we have that do work and the 2 new ones that do not work is the new ones use the the NI-XNET-PXI-8513 and the old ones use the PXI_8464 CAN card. Could this software be conflicting? Is there any other updates to the NI software that could be causing it?

I've had a check to see if we have any known software conflict issues with those cards but it all seems fine, it could be that the Windows Driver layer is causing some issues. If you nip into Device Manager and go to the properties of the 8431 you should be able to change it to 2-wire mode from those settings then re-run the program.
Also does the program throw any errors at all in terms of device resources when trying to move from send to receive mode?
What versions of NI-VISA and NI-Serial do you currently have installed?

Laptop not going on sleep mode and on shut down light remain on in Windows 10

I have updated Windows 10 in my laptop and after this update from 8.1, my laptop is not going on sleep mode when I put the laptop screen down. Moreover, when I Shut down the laptop, it is almost shut down everything closes except the lights. Light remain on for indefinite time. Then, I have to press the power button for sometime in order to forcely close all the lights. Please give me the solution.

Hotkey "Create Record" while the form is in enter-query-mode

pressing the hotkey F6 for create-record while the block is in enter-query-mode results in the error - message:
Function key not allowed. Press Ctrl+F1 for list of valid keys.
The error-occurs although I created a trigger KEY-CREREC. The trigger isn't executed
In older Forms versions the behaviour was different. Is there a way to let the form work like in the old versions?

i m trying to assign the value of text item to a variable in pre-query trigger. i m able to get the value into variable when the string in the text item does not startwith <,>,=. but when the string starts with any one of the operator (<,>,=) it gives error.
lenth of variable is 1000 charaters, and text item's max leanth is just 4 charactres.

Disabling LOVs when not in enter query mode

hello. I currently have a form in which a master block populates a detail block. when the master is populated the cursor automatically goes to the detail block and sets it to enter query mode (due to the face that there are multiple details but the user may only view one at a time). To select the appropriate detail the user may select the detail from a LOV which is activated by clicking a button. once the detail has been selected and the query executed there is no real need for the LOV as the user can now edit/delete the detail. Also when adding a new detail there would be no need for the LOV as the presence of it would only confuse users. So basically the only time the LOV is usefull is during query mode to query the detail the user wants to edit/delete.
In your experiance how would you acheive this result?

well you can write a trigger Key-listval on your LOV item to check the mode of the block

end if;LOV will only display in enter query mode only

Open multiple forms, few in Enter-Query mode

Hi All,
I want to open multiple forms from a form using open_form built-in. If user clicks on different items of the parent form different child forms are invoked.
But if one child form is opened in Enter-Query mode (I have 'enter_query;' in its when-new-form-instance) it does not allow to put focus back on parent form and invoke other forms until I execute_query in child form or close the child form.

Smart Form not going as attachment with Email

Hi,
I am configuring actions for support message and email has to be automatically sent to a particular partner based on status of support message.
I am using standard actions and standard smart forms.
The email is also going but without attachment.The mail body is also blank. The subject appears as the name of smart form
When I preview from Actions in transaction, I am able to view the complete smartform.
Is there any settings I have missed out.
In SCOT we have configured SAP Script/ Smart Forms as PDF.

Iphone 6 not going to landscape mode while in messages

For some reason when i try to type in landscape mode phone will not go to landscape more I have to close the app multiple times just for it to happen. Also bluetooth not working with any devices. And for some other reason while on FaceTime other people are saying my picture on there end was upside down.. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! Also when i double click the home button and try to go back into iMessage the keyboard is no where to be found for a couple of seconds..

Indeed the option to lock to portrait mode is not on in the control panel. The behavior of switching from portrait to landscape works fine in my hand, it's when the phone is in a holder that it does not detect the orientation and adjust accordingly. The iPhone 5 did this with no problem, but on iPhone 6 any app that allows landscape mode starts out in portrait mode and then does not automatically adjust. Rather you have to move the phone back into portrait mode and it's that motion of being re-oriented into landscape mode that finally triggers the switch.

Logitech Bluetooth adapter not going into HCI mode

Hi.
I just installed Arch-Linux on a HP Compaq T5000, and is actually quite pleased with it.
It runs much faster than Ubuntu server, and uses much less resources than ubuntu did (it's a thin client, it only got 128 MB ram and 800 MHz cpu, though i use it as a server ).
Now, apart from serving my iTunes library, playing music on remote speakers, backing up my data, and doing a billion other things, i wanted it to serve a Bluetooth PAN network. So, i plugged my Logitech Bluetooth adapter (From a keyboard/mouse combo) in, and it was registered as a HID device. I then ran hid2hci to make it run in HCI mode, and it said it succeded. But, hcitool dev didn't give any devices, and dmesg said this:

I believe hid2hci doesn't do the job correctly (even though it think it does).
I'm running "Core Dump", and using linux version 2.6.23-ARCH.
Any help would be appreciated.

It's not like i'm gonna die of it's not gonna work, but a little response would be nice, even a "That's impossible to fix" would be nice, because then i would know i shouldn't spend a lifetime on this

Form not going to next page

I have created a form (with sub-forms on top of sub-forms). They all seem to expand and go onto the second page but it will not create a third page when it reaches that point. Nor can I add yet another subform on a third page. I cannot seem to figure this out after working with it for several hours and reading more posts than I could ever imagine on how to do it. They all recommend I set it the way I have it but it still won't flow. The forms tree begins with a page 1 untitled form which is a flowed form. From there I am using a combination of postioned and flowed forms but they will not go onto a third page no matter what I try to do.

I actually got it squared away. This program is not terribly user friendly but very powerful. I had nested forms and somewhere along the way I nested a flowed form inside of a positioned form thus no page breaking. Thank you very much for your help.

Core i7 27" imac not going into 64bit mode

i received my 27" Core i7 when they first shipped. love the machine. that said when i hold the 6 and 4 down at boot it does not go into 64 bit mode. what could be causing this and how could a force it into that mode?
