Form6i-10g Migration-Look&Feel-Button lables are shrinked end with dot..ASP

Hi All,
We have migrated the forms 6i to forms 10g R2.We are facing push button issue like,the lable which is displayed in the button is reduced.
Assume the button's label name is Cancel.
Actully it is displaying like Can.....We have forms count nearly 300.We have diffent size buttons.
We have solution like
1.Manually
2.PC Creation
3.Java Class and Jar Files
4.JDAPI
5.Modify the basejini.htm
1.Add the below parameter in basejini.htm in OBJECT and EMBED tag respectively

2. clientDPI=100 add this entry under your customized config name.
The method five,we have tried.But there is no changes after this changes also.
Can you guys please let us know the correct menthod(with steps 1 by 1) to do this in quickly.
2.There are look and feel 2 types oracle and generic,rather than this do we have any other type.We are looking for any cusrtomized settings in config files.

Usability
I used the BC4J toy store example from Steve Muench and created a StrutsPageFlow from struts-config.xml. What a mess.
Next I right clicked on the diagram Diagram|Refresh Diagram from all Pages... Even worse.
I Right Clicked and selected Layout Diagram|Right to Left. This creates an unusable document that I could not find a way to get back to usable by clicking. The anchors in the lines do not clean up when the lines are moved or straightened.
I think I see the error in my logic for the next one but it seems to still be a problem in the way the system keeps the PageFlow, XML and code, consistent when using cut and paste. I do not know the exact path to recreate problem:
*after the Layout Diagram Results above I hand edited the whole pageflow to get all the bad anchors out and the whole diagram on a single page.
*Next I selected all items on the Struts Page Flow and used cut from the menu to cut all the Items displayed
*I deleted the page flow using File| Erase from Disk.
*I Creaed a new page flow and Pasted all the items back. They came back and looked like the page flow I cut but they were hollow, cold, and empty.
*This destroyed the PageFlow, config. xml, and project.

Certainly the default layout of an imported struts-config in the preview is not pretty - For production it will automatically do a Hierarchical Top to Bottom which is a little better but we have to do some further work to tweek the label and line positioning - this is an area which will constantly evolve for the better...
Cut copy paste on the diagram does not work in Preview - it is fixed for production so I'm sorry about that.

I believe you have Voice Over on:
You have to tap, then double-tap to select the numbers to enter your passcode.
Then:
Press Home.
Tap Settings. Then double-tap Settings.
Tap General. Then double-tap General.
Use three fingers on the screen to scroll to Accessibility.
Tap Accessibility. Then double-tap Accessibility.
Tap VoiceOver. Then double-tap VoiceOver.
Tap "On" next to VoiceOver. Then double-tap "On" to turn it off.

Forms 10g Migration : Labels on Buttons get shrinked.

Hi All ,
We have forms from 5/6i converted into forms 10g but observed that on the migrated form Labels on Buttons get shrinked and show up half instead of full.
First case ,why does this happen ? If so what is the soln. for this.
One solution might to select each button and change its height , but do you think there is any better way to do it so that it applies to all buttons on the canvas ...

After migration from sccm 2007, there are many systems with no client installed

Hi Everyone,
We have migrated our environment from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012 , And Manual client push installation has been done by HeadQuarter SCCM admins on site code of our region.
But as i see , in all systems collection based on OU, there are approx 50% systems with no client installed.
There may be some stale systems in AD.
Is there any way so that i can list out all Stale or old computers which are not in use anymore records of systems from Active directory and so that i move them to OU for which system discovery is not enabled.
Also, it will very useful if i get more information on lastLogonTimeStamp and such more properties which specifies system as stale or OFF the network for some period..

You could also remove the objects without a client and adjust the settings in the
Options tab of the Active Directory System Discovery Properties. By tweaking those options you can make sure that you're not discovering those old objects in the first place.

Want to change the Look & Feel of Login page

Hi,
I am using Oracle Webcenter 11g (Version 11.1.1.2.0) . I want to change the look & Feel of Login.jspx . I have gone through the extension document
"*http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/webcenter/pdf/owcs_r11_extend_spaces_wp.pdf"*, it listed about customizing the Landing page .
But i want to change the look & feel of *"Login.jspx"* page along with want this as landing page. How i will achieve this, will it be done through the same document that i am referring .Please suggest me.

I just wonder if i could change the global toolbar of the login page though this or not.
As i changed the webcenter global tool bar (i,e increase the height of the toolbar) using CustomSiteTemplate, but the login page toolbar height remains as it is.
So how could i achieve this and one more thing how could i make the login page as the landing page and once login done it should forwarded to webcenter spaces. Please reply asap.

Customizing ADF Faces Look & Feel. Some questions & suggestions

Hi everybody,
We are developing an application with ADF Faces using JHeadStart. For the moment, I am studying the way we must modify the JHS templates to adapt each element to our needs.
As it's told in the JHeadStart Developer's Guide, there are two ways to customize Look & Feel:
1) Modifying the templates
2) ADF Skinning
I'm using both methods, but I feel that thay are not good enough to adapt the L&F to our customer requirements.
My main problem now is in the ADF Table customization. I want to use ADF Table because it offers us a lot of features that are not in the jsf table (the selection column, the table overflow...), and is very usefull combined with the generated JHS code. But at the same time, it doesn't offer a lot of functionality in the look & feel customization. Using JSF Table, I can set the CSS style for headers, rows, columns, the table, I can set the border, cellspacing and cellpadding. But I cannot do
any of these thing (or at least, I don't see how) with the ADF Table.
Our customer (a government) have a strict definition of the look & feel of his web applications. They want we use their CSS styles definition file, so they can modify at once the Look & Feel of all their applications. Modifying the L&F through skinning generate other styles, not use the style classes in our CSS (o so I think).
So, the questions:
1) There is any way to set the suitable styles for the ADF Table components (headers, rows)?
1bis) Why, If I have defined a new skin, with only just a few selectors, some styles from oracle are applied? Maybe because the render kit in the 'adf-skins.xml' is "oracle.adf.desktop"? If it is true, how can I make that they are not used, I must implement a render kit or can I use another existent?
2) Can I decide how looks the select column (for example a button instead of a radio button)? Can I decide where does it goes (right or left)?
3) There is any way to hidden the text Show/Hide of the showDetail in the table (the tableOverflow), as I can change the icons through skinning? If it is not possible, How can I overwrite the text. I need it in Catalan, but it is shown in English for this locale. Where is the message bundle I should overwrite?
4) There is any way to force a tree to start fully expanded?
5) There is anywhere documentation about the javascript functions used in ADF and their meaning? I think for example in the previous question. If I knew which javascript function I should call for expand the tree and its parameters, I could put the call in the onload event of the body.
6) I use a selectInputDate. I have skinned the launch-icon, and I would like to do a similar thing in the chooseDate that is opened in a new window. But It seems not to be affected for my skinning directives (if I put a chooseDate in the same page, its L&F follow the skinning rules I've defined). I don't know if this dialog is an ADF feature or a JHS generated feature.
7) There is any way to keep unmodified the id I've choosed for a component? (I mean, an inputText with id="hello" in a form with id="form" will have in the HTML an id = "form:hello", but I would like it to be simply 'hello')
8) How can I control the position and the size of a dialog (the chooseDate dialog or a dialog I've created)? In the cases I've been testing, it seems the dialog is forced to resize depending on the content. I would like to know if I can establish a fixed size.
9) There is any way to open a non-modal dialog? (which I could keep open at the same time that another instance of the same dialog)
For the moment, I think I have no more question. But give me time.... :-D
The suggestion I've to do is basically more flexible components for a better customization (for example, the styles settings I've talked about previously). ADF components are nice and powerful, but I think they should generate pages that follow the tendencies in the web development: tableless pages (I cannot understand the utility of the objectSpacer existing the margins), use of CSS for layout...
Any answer, comment or suggestion will be welcome.

I have been able to make the UIX 2.2 and ADF Faces LAF look near identical by updating the oracle-desktop.xss file within UIX 2.2 as follows

There are still some differences:
1) A black line appears on the ADF Faces on the 'menu1' facet selected tab below the text. DON'T KNOW HOW TO REMOVE THIS FROM ADF Faces or add it to UIX 2.2!!!
2) In UIX 2.2 a bulleted list uses the HTML <li> tag. In ADF Faces it doesn't use the HTML <li> tag rather it constructs the bulleted list using lower level HTML tags with the 'bullet' becoming an image, in my browser this means the disc is smaller in Faces. The motivation for this change I think is explained via this post. Since I have no control over how this specific HTML tag is rendered it forces me to replace the /adf/images/bltdscn.gif file in adf-faces-impl.jar with a larger disc!

May I answer your question with some questions of my own? :)
1. Are you migrating from Forms6i client-server or web?
2. If Web, to a non-Windows middle tier (hopefully)?
3. Do you plan to incorporate OID/SSO and/or Portal in the new environment?
I just reached the end of a 6-month long prototyping project to migrate our Forms/Reports 6i application (80% client-server, 20% web) to 10g, using SSO and Portal for report destination. We migrated about a dozen forms of varying complexity and rewrote our main application/menu form. We originally thought the prototype would take 3-4 months. The purpose was to learn what we needed to develop the best migration approach and have an idea of what it would cost. The application has about 650 forms/reports modules. Costs and the learning curve prohibited a move to J2EE/ADF; oh I wished... Management is hoping we can complete the full migration in about a year, but I think... well, this is a public forum and I am using my real name. ;)
We've only been using 10g release 2 since the end of January. Stay away from release 1 at all costs. Even release 2 is not what I would call entirely stable. I just opened a SR on MetaLink a few days ago for a problem I was able to recreate where the use of a button on a form-level toolbar that directly or indirectly call_forms a new form, and then navigation occurs back to the original form (say, when trying to minimize or rearrange widows) causes the session to crash with the infamous ORA-92101. We rely heavily on a hierarchical tree for our application menu, and keyboard navigation on the tree is somewhat broken (tree triggers not firing).
However, many long-standing 6i bugs have been fixed, and I really, REALLY do appreciate being at PL/SQL version 10 in Forms.
But we have some real challenges too, some self-inflicted. Some 400 of our application forms were converted from SQL*Forms 3.0 via Kumaran a while back. This is admittedly our greatest challenge. The V3 forms, being they were character-based with no mouse support, had lots of code in Key-navigation triggers that was never meant to be in navigation triggers (validation, etc) and would get bypassed if the user skipped the field using a mouse. Kumaran solved this problem using mouse triggers which are no longer supported on the web. We also are attempting to introduce some enhancements during the migration like become Section 508 compliant.
I did not opt to use the migration tool; it doesn't really do that much for you anyway.
One headache for us was Reports. We eliminated many temporary tables (permanent tables created temporarily) in user schemas for the use of global temporary tables. Granted, this feature showed up in Oracle9i. But in 10g, we found inadvertently that database sessions for reports are initiated by a java process and reused for performance, meaning different reports sometimes (and unpredictably) are sharing database sessions instead of getting their own. It would've been nice to know this beforehand because it was a challenge to find out the hard way.
My biggest complaint is that Forms still lags behind in features that are part of the application server. For example, I would've loved to implement Enterprise Users and rid our database of the many thousands of user accounts. But Forms doesn't support it. And Oracle really should have provided a migration tool to create the OID resource that links the OID user account via SSO to the database account. Especially since Forms only works with database accounts. All we got was a 9i-based White Paper on the APIs to write our own. This is Oracle data, not application data for heavens sake!
I've opened easily over a hundred SRs during this time, and am quite sure that my name is mud by now and that I have lost any chance of ever getting hired by Oracle. ;)
If your DBAs are database-centric and not used to administering a middle tier-- or administer an old middle-tier like 9iAS 1.0.2.2.2, get them into instructor-led training on 10g administration BEFORE they have to install the 10g infrastructure and middle tiers. The architecture is radically changed and infinitely more complex. As far as the workload the developers will face; Forms is still pretty much Forms, but the state of your existing code will play into it.
I was so tired of spending years on older versions of Oracle software. And I am proud to announce that I am now intimately familiar with what is known as The Bleeding Edge.

Im using a custom Look and Feel (Kunststoff, http://www.incors.org/index.php3 very nice) - my problem is that sometimes (often) my gui is screwed up - some parts like a JPane are not rendered in the custom look & feel, they are still default, but the buttons are. Or my whole dialog looks like a little puzzle - small pieces are cut out.
I have no idea how to avoid these bugs, im not certain that this is because of the custom look and feel because i seem to have the same problems with the metal look and feel from java.
I tryed to put a repaint() in my initiliaze of my dialog classes at the very end, but no success either...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

10g migration from 32 bit linux to 64 bit-synchronizing appsutil

I am currently attempting to migrate my TEST instance from a 32 bit Linux server to a 64 bit Linux server. In a nutshell, I have prepared the new 64 bit Linux host for running the Oracle database. I have also already run adpreclone.pl on source instance apps and db tiers. I am following a number of documents, mostly from Oracle but a few from different blogs.

I will list the first 5 steps. I am stuck on step 5.
The steps are :
1. Backup source datafile of the database.
2. Copy the backup datafile to destination server.
3. Install the Oracle Software in destination server.
4. Install patchset 10.2.0.4.0 for Linux 64 bit (Patch# 6810189)
5. Do Cloning database, create control file
The new 64 bit Linux server has the 10g database software only. So, on the target server I looked to run adcfgclone.pl , but I noticed that in the new $ORACLE_HOME there was no appsutil folder. What I did next was copy that directory from the source database server over to the target server. I have been unable to run adcfgclone.pl on target server against the db tier. Fails with:
java.lang.NullPointerException
     at java.util.Hashtable.put(Unknown Source)
     at oracle.apps.ad.clone.util.CloneCleanser.doMigrate(CloneCleanser.java:98)
     at oracle.apps.ad.context.CloneContext.doClone(CloneContext.java:710)
     at oracle.apps.ad.context.CloneContext.main(CloneContext.java:5093)
RC-50004: Error occurred in CloneContext:
So I can't help but wonder, was even supposed to do that - copy from one server to another? Is the appsutil directory and its contents somewhat custom relative to the host it's on?

Please post the details of the application release, database version and OS.
Are you migrating the database only?
If this is an EBS database then the supported ways are using export/import of transportable tablespaces.

In general, skinning APIs are being worked on for coming releases of ADF Faces. However, for now, you could simply just use <h:commandButton> instead of <af:commandButton>.

Look&Feel setting partially effective in applet, why?

I have set the applet look&feel in method init() by doing this.
UIManager.setLookAndFeel(UIManager.getSystemLookAndFeel());There are a JTree in a JScrollPane and some JButtons on the Applet.
But when browsed by IE, the tree is displayed in a Windows style, but the
buttons and outside the JScrollPane are all in a Metal style. Why this happens?
And how to solve it? Thanks.

Getting error message in debug "Page contains page items/buttons which are not assigned to a region!"

I created a form and when I submit, it goes through but there is no "success" or "failure" message on Apex. I tried debugging it and got this message:
"Page contains page items/buttons which are not assigned to a region!"
I looked at the page definition and it seems like everything is assigned to a region. Much appreciate your help.

For your message, the relevant branch needs "include process success message" to be checked - and a value in success/failure in your process.
Check the submitting & landing page for items not in a region. Under the items section there may be items listed separate to those under specific regions.
It's possible these are related, but not guaranteed.

10g Migration issue in forms related to graphics

I am facing a 10G migration issue realted to graphics in Forms.
A form got migrated from 6i to 10g and it has Graphics in it but it is not displaying the graphics in Runtime after
migration.can anyone help me reagrding how to resolve this Graphics issue in 10g.

Graphics no longer exists in Developer Suite 10G. You have to replace the functionality , e.g. by using BI Beans. Have a look at the samples page http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/products/forms/index.html

Very happy after getting it to stop keeping the display lit after charging completes. Battery life blows my Galaxy Nexus out of the water. The GNex was like an electric car with a 30 mile range. Always looking for a charge. The S5's screen is gorgeous. OLED is a must-have for me. Signal strength is better than the GNex and the S5 is XLTE-ready so you can get faster speeds in those markets. I got 69.08/18.95 in Kansas City back in May. Other XLTE areas have had download speeds of high 20s to low 30s. Performance is good. The interface feels smooth and responsive. I even like the look. It's like something out of a 50s diner.
My only real gripe is the storage. 16 gigs is pretty sad these days and only 10 gigs are available. I know you can add a 128 gig card (I have) but few apps load completely to the card. Heck, lots of apps won't put anything on the card. A flagship phone should have 32 and 64 gig options.
I also wish I could just load the bare OS and skip all the bells and whistles that Samsung's added.
