Format Error : mkfs.ocfs2 1.2.7 file system too small for a journal

Hi All,
I am trying to implement Oracle 10g RAC on my laptop using vmware and openfiler software . But while executing the command
#mkfs.ocfs2 -b 4K -C 32K -N 4 -L oracrsfiles /dev/iscsi/crs11/part1
I am getting the error
Format Error : mkfs.ocfs2 1.2.7 file system too small for a journal
Please anybody can help me to resolve this problem.
Thanks in Advance.

How large is the device that you are formatting?
The default journal size depends on the type specified. If none specified,
then it assumes "mail" which sets the default journal per slot to 256M.
If database type, default is 64M.
Use "-T database" to specify database type, etc.
BTW, one can always override the defaults. Say "-J size=16M" to make
a smaller journal.
man mkfs.ocfs2 and the user's guide has more.

  • Host Agent Service critical - Paging file is too small for this operation to complete

    Hi all,
at the moment I have the problem that some of my hosts get in the errorstate critical in VMM 2012 SP1.
The error details in VMM are:
    Error (2912)
An internal error has occurred trying to contact the hostname server: : .
WinRM: URL: [http://hostname:5985], Verb: [ENUMERATE], Resource: [http://schemas.microsoft.com/wbem/wsman/1/wmi/root/cimv2/Win32_Service], Filter: [select * from Win32_Service where Name="scvmmagent"]
The paging file is too small for this operation to complete (0x800705AF)
    Recommended Action
Check that WS-Management service is installed and running on server hostname. For more information use the command "winrm helpmsg hresult". If hostname is a host/library/update server or a PXE server role then ensure that VMM agent is installed
    and running.
On the host i cannot connect to FailoverCluster or Hyper.V Manager. After a restart of the host the Problem is gone and the System is working without any Problems for some days.
The paging file is set to 4GB and the OS is Server 2012.
The hosts have 192GB of RAM.
The configuration of the pagfile didn't change from Windows 2k8R2 to 2012.
I didn't find any Errors in the eventlog. Do you have any idea where to check for that?
    Thanks,
    Patrick

The hotfix didn't solve the Problem for me either. The WMI crash came again after a couple of weeks.
An additional problem with VDS was detected and the following hotfix was installed:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2884597/en-us
Also a problem with Clusterservice was found, sadly MS is tagging this handle leak as "won't fix".
Nevertheless one WMI Instance is still growing...
We are testing a hotfix that so far looks promising. Its a private hotfix only right now. But the file is listed as KB494704 you may want to ask your support engineer to look into it.

How can I perform the conversion of .pdf files in Cyrillic script to Word files in Cyrillic script. The .pdf file is too small for me to read without a magnifying glass, and the document is more than one thousand pages.

This answer was not helpful. First of all, I could not find "tech specs"
anywhere on the Acrobat 11 homepage. And secondly I purchased this software
for the specific purpose of converting .pdf files to Word. It was only
after I had completed the purchase that I learnt that Acrobat does not
permit the conversion of .pdf files in Cyrillic to Word files  in Cyrillic.
I feel that Acrobat should have provided this crucial information before I
allowed my credit card to be debited. That is why I  am now asking for my

  • PGC has an error--data rate of this file is too high for DVD

Getting one of those seemingly elusive PGC errors, though mine seems to be different from many of the ones listed here. Mine is telling me that the data rate of my file is too high for DVD. Only problem is, the file it's telling me has a datarate that is too high, is a slideshow which Encore has built using imported jpg files. I got the message, tried going into the slideshow and deleting the photo at the particular spot in the timeline where it said it had the problem, now getting the same message again with a different timecode spot in the same slideshow. The pictures are fairly big, but I assumed that Encore would automatically resize them to fit an NTSC DVD timeline. Do I need to open all the pictures in Photoshop and scale them down to 720x480 before I begin with the slideshows?

With those efforts, regarding the RAM, it would *seem* that physical memory was not the problem.
I'd look to how Windows is managing both the RAM addresses and also its Virtual Memory. To the former, I've seen programs/Processes that lock certain memory addresses upon launch (may be in startup), and do not report this to Windows accurately. Along those lines, you might want to use Task Manager to see what Processes are running from startup on your machine. I'll bet that you've got some that are not necessary, even if IT is doing a good job with the system setup. One can use MSCONFIG to do a trial of the system, without some of these.
I also use a little program, EndItAll2 for eliminating all non-necessary programs and Processes, when doing editing. It's freeware, has a tiny footprint and usually does a perfect job of surveying your running programs and Processes, to shut them down. You can also modify its list, incase it wants to shut down something that IS necessary. I always Exit from my AV, spyware, popup-blocker, etc., as these progams will lie to EndItAll2 and say that they ARE necessary, as part of their job. Just close 'em out in the Tasktray, then run EndItAll2. Obviously, you'll need to do this with the approval of IT, but NLE machines need all available resources.
Now, to the Virtual Memory. It is possible that Windows is not doing a good job of managing a dynamic Page File. Usually, it does, but many find there is greater stability with a fixed size at about 1.5 to 2.5x the physical RAM. I use the upper end with great results. A static Page File also makes defragmenting the HDD a bit easier too. I also have my Page File split over two physical HDD's. Some find locating to, say D:\ works best. For whatever reason, my XP-Pro SP3 demanded that I have it on C:\, or split between C:\ and D:\. Same OS on my 3 HDD laptop was cool having it on D:\ only. Go figure.
    These are just some thoughts.
Glad that you got part of it solved and good luck with the next part. Since this seems to affect both PrPro and En, sounds system related.

PS some IT techs love to add all sorts of monitors to the computers, especially if networkded. These are not usually bad, but are usually out of the mainstream, in that most users will never have most of these. You might want to ask about any monitors. Also, are you the only person with an NLE computer under the IT department? In major business offices, this often happens. Most IT folk do not have much, if any, experience with graphics, or NLE workstations. They spend their days servicing database, word processing and spreadsheet boxes.

I developed Crystal reports (using Universe)in CR XIR2 and deployed in BO XIR 2 Repository.

I am able to preview the reports in CMC/Infoview.
But when we are integrating our Application(Called GBS) to BO ,and when I am trying to open CR reprots from BO repository,it is throwing error " File is too large for attachment " .
The report is not too big even ,it is having only 100 records.
I am not sure why it is throwing this error?Did anyone faced the same error ever?
Please let me know any resolution for this,as it is blockign for me.
is it something related to the application (GBS) or  any Pagerserver/Cacheserver issue ?
    Will wait for any response.

  • "An error occurred creating the application.Check file system permission"

    Hi There ,
I am facing a problem in creating a webcenter portal webapplication.
I have followed the steps given in Help topics of Jdeveloper, but after performing all the steps i am getting this error
"An error occurred creating the application.Check file system permission". Kindly help me to get through this error.
    Regards
    Vivek

    Hi Vivek,
I hope this is the problem with permission.you Don't have Admin permission to access those folder.
    my Suggestion is
1.use Administrator account(on windows) for develop applications(its give full access to the folder from your system). or
2 open your JDeveloper as Administrator. (just right click on JDeveloper from you shortcuts or from programs run as Administrator)
I hope this will be helpful.

  • JAXB: Error compiling classes generated by xjc (file name too long)

    Hi friends,

The compiler is complaining about the file name being too long. This is happening because the java classes when generated from XSD contains deep nesting of inner classes. So when it comes to compile the .class name file is too long for the operating system.
I am trying this on unix box.
I wonder if there is a way to configure XJC so that it does not produce inner classes but instead keep them out.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    many thanks

Flattening your schema definition will flatten the output files, too -- that will probably be nice for coding as well since you wont have to use class names such as SomeTypeNestedInAnotherTypeThatHasYetAnotherType. Instead of having all of the elements defined directly within the enclosing root element, define logical chunks at the top level and incorporate them in the definition of real root element of your documents by reference.

  • How do you fix error message "data rate for this file is too high for DVD.  You must replace this file with one of a lower data rate".

When trying to burn a DVD it will go through the encoding step and at 98% we see the message 'data rate for this file is too high for DVD.  You must replace this file with one of a lower data rate".  We need help to correct this so we can complete burning to DVD.

What did you export from Premiere?
Did you use the MPEG2-DVD preset... and did you make any changes to the preset?

I finished adding my transtions to my timeline.  I was having crashing issues so I shut down everything before I rendered the project and now it tells me that the project is unreadable or the file is too new for this version of final cut. What Happened?

    What Happened?
No way for us to know.  But if your system was crashing, there definitely was a problem.  The FCE error message you got normally indicates the FCE project file has been corrupted.  This probably happened due to whatever caused your system to crash & shutting down the system.
First, make sure your system is running correctly.  Then, use the Finder to navigate to /users/yourusername/Documents/Final Cut Express Documents/Autosave Vault and find the most recent backup copy of your FCE project file.  Copy the file to your Final Cut Express Documents folder (copy the file, don't just move it).  Then double-click the copy to open it in FCE.  It should open ok, but will probably not have your most recent edits (transitions).  You may have to rebuild the transitions, but at least you will be back in action.

  • ReportExportControl  -- File is too large for attachment

    Hi all,
    Back with a exception again.
Few reports deployed on BOXIR2 SP4 comes with an error as following
    com.crystaldecisions.report.web.viewer.ReportExportControl
15bf5ea9377e1c1.rtf File is too large for attachment.
Few reports take date range as input and generates result based on that. When date range is small report is generated without any problem. If is large and has large set of records(approx above 10K records) then comes up with the above error.
Another set of reports whatever be the case throws this error.
But when the parameters are set in CMS console and run in console report is generated without any problem what ever be the date range.
After searching a lot no solutions in hand!!
Please suggest solutions/possible scenarios / checklist to solve this issue.
    Thanks & Regards
    lnarayanan

It turns out the report was so large it was basically overloading everything (disk space, cache sizes, timeouts, etc.) ... Here's the solution from the case:
    1) For page server and cache server
Make sure location of Temp Files/Cache files has enough free space (more than 500 MB)
    2) For page server and cache server
Minutes Before an Idle Connection is Closed = 90
    3) For page server
Minutes Before an Idle Report Job is Closed = 90
    4) For cache server
Maximum Simultaneous Processing Threads = automatic
    5) In the command line of page server and cache server, add
    "-requestTimeout 5400000" [without " "]
    6) Maximum Cache Size Allowed (KBytes) = set it to an appropriate value (for e.g. for 500 Mb, value should be 500*1024 = 512000)
(This setting limits the amount of hard disk space used to store cached pages. If we need to handle large reports, a large cache size is needed. Maximum allowed is 2048 GB)
After all this, an "Error 500 - Java heap space" happened.  The amount of memory allocated to a JVM application can be set using the options -Xms (the initial size) and -Xmx (the maximum size).

  • Unix shell: Environment variable works for file system but not for ASM path

We would like to switch from file system to ASM for data files of Oracle tablespaces. For the path of the data files, we have so far used environment variables, e.g.,
    CREATE TABLESPACE BMA DATAFILE '${ORACLE_DB_DATA}/bma.dbf' SIZE 2M AUTOEXTEND ON;
This works just fine (from shell scripts, PL/SQL packages, etc.) if ORACLE_DB_DATA denotes a file system path, such as "/home/oracle", but doesn’t work if the environment variable denotes an ASM path like "\+DATA/rac/datafile". I assume that it has something to do with "+" being a special character in the shell. However, escaping "\+" didn’t work. I tried with both bash and ksh.
Oracle managed files (e.g., set DB_CREATE_FILE_DEST to +DATA/rac/datafile) would be an option. However, this would require changing quite a few scripts and programs. Therefore, I am looking for a solution with the environment variable. Any suggestions?
The example below is on a RAC Attack system (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/RAC_Attack_-OracleCluster_Database_at_Home). I get the same issues on Solaris/AIX/HP-UX on 11.2.0.3 also.

My revised understanding is that it is not a shell issue with replacing +, but an Oracle problem. It appears that Oracle first checks whether the path starts with a "+" or not. If it does not (file system), it performs the normal environment variable resolution. If it does start with a "+" (ASM case), Oracle does not perform environment variable resolution. Escaping, such as "\+" instead of "+" doesn't work either.
To be more specific regarding my use case: I need the substitution to work from SQL*Plus scripts started with @script, PL/SQL packages with execute immediate, and optionally entered interactively in SQL*Plus.
    Thanks,
    Martin
