Forte Launch Server Shutdown
There should be a file named: <reposname>.rop in the repos directory of your
Forte environment. It is a log of the repository operations. You may get some
clue as to what is happening there.
Thanks

Do you do rpcleans on your reposity on a regular basis. It sounds like your
repository is starting to roll over. Check it's size, right before it's
ready to blow it will start to grow abnormally.

Subject: (forte-users) Hanging Save in partition workspace.
I have my workspace preferences set to "save before running"
Now when I run in the partition workshop, I get the message "Saving
Workspace" in the
Workshop status line, and then it saves.... And saves..... and saves until
finally I have to
Kill forte by going to the forte menu and selecting launch server shutdown.
Anyone else been having this problem with forte 3.5 on NT?

The server shutdown with the above output in the log file, can you please let me know why this happened and any solution for it?
Thanks.Have you see that in your posted log:
<May 13, 2009 10:37:08 AM EDT> <Alert> <Socket> <BEA-000414> <Could not initialize POSIX Performance Pack.>
<May 13, 2009 10:37:08 AM EDT> <Warning> <Socket> <BEA-000444> <Could not load the performance pack that can take advantage of /dev/(e)poll device due to:

it seems to be a trouble with server performance pack. Try to DISABLE performance pack on your server and restart (unckeck "Native IO Enabled" on your domain"). You can also found some suggestions on http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs92/messages/Socket.html (check for "BEA-000414" message).

TRIALSP11 Application server Shutdown at SAP LOGON
This is my first adventure with SAP or ABAP..
1. I installed and followed the SAPNW2004sABAPTrialSP11 install instructions.
2. The installation instructions went fine from the
/people/manfred.lutz/blog/2007/03/16/new-blog-series-abap-trial-version-for-newbies
3. SAMMMC has MSG_SERVER.exe and DISP_WORK.EXE both green when I stared the SAP Logon.
4. After I start the SAP the waiting for response shows up.
5. SAP GUI comes up with a error saying application server shutdown.
6. my disp+work.exe goes to stopped state.
7. Error message says componet is 710, version 10, return code -17, counter 1.
The Log is attached. Any help is rewarded.

Weblogic managed server shutdown immediately after going to STARTING state
Our configuration has 3 managed servers M1, M2, M3. M2 and M3 are in a cluster to share JNDI name for JMS servers. Are M3 server often shutdown on starting up just after the server goes to the STARTING state. I have 2 log traces. The first shows when the server shuts down, the 2nd is when the server initializes correctly. No configuration changes, just a timing race condition. Any help is greatly appreciated.....
Bad startup log trace....

Redeployment/Server shutdown indicator?
hi there,
would like to ask if anyone know of any decent way that my MDB could tell whether an application re-deployment or server shutdown is going to take place?
thanks.
regards,
gabchanya, you certainly can. I replied to a similar question yest. below is my reply.
cheers,
Mihir
you can extend the RemoteNotificationListener and filter on the deployment notifications specifically.
The listener should be for the LogBroadCasterRuntimeMBean and should be registered with the MBeanServer through a startup class.
I have a sample on how to do this submitted on dev2dev:
http://dev2dev.bea.com/codelibrary/code/jmx_samples.jsp
check out the code under deploymentNotifications.
hope this helps,
cheers,

Hi,
I'm trying to find out the root cause of the unplanned application server shutdown that happened in our production system. I was browsing through the dev_w* and dev_disp files and found nothing unusual except for the log below, which I found in dev_disp.old file:
<b>Mon Oct 29 01:56:03 2007
DpSigInt: caught signal 2</b>
This was the last log when the app server shut itself down. Can anyone tell me what the above log means? And which other logs or trace files can I look for to help me find the root cause?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Kris CaldozaThanks Markus.
Below are the only logs I found in dev_disp (aside from the Signal 2 log) which were generated at the time of the shutdown:
Mon Oct 29 01:56:06 2007
***LOG Q0M=> DpMsDetach, ms_detach () [dpxxdisp.c 8415]

How to check Server Shutdown and Startup History in SAP
Hi guru's . One of the background job failed on saturday. And i want check the duration and the history when the server shutdown and startup. I can check the server startup time at ST02 t-code. But i want to check the entire history of server shut down. Please guide me through. Thanks.
Dear Ram,
You can see the System logs in SM21 . Background job failure can be viewed in SM37 .
As said before go through \usr\sap\TST\DVEBMGS00\work directory and see the logs. Files like dev_disp , dev_ms ,dev_rfc.trc ,stderr1,stderr2,stderr3,stderr4 will have the log information . These files will have the information after the last system start .
Anyway if want to see the old logs before server shutdown , see the old logs in old files like dev_disp.old,dev_ms.old .

Server too busy, cannot force server shutdown
Hi!
I am running WLS6.1 SP2 on W2K SP2, with Cloudscape 4.0.
I am unable to access the console (after waiting a couple minutes) nor to force
a server shutdown through the command
line, which results in the following exception:
Failed to connect to t3://127.0.0.1:7001 due to:[t3://127.0.0.1:7001: Destination
unreachable; nested exception is:
java.io.InterruptedIOException: Read timed out; No available router to
destination]
It seems to be because the server is in heavy processing of
JMS messages which, when consumed, result in bulk inserts
in the database. However, I need to force a "clean" server
shutdown to be sure that the database does a checkpoint and flushes all the commited
data.
Any hint would be greatly appreciated,
Guillaume BedardHi.
Ok - thanks for that. Please open a case with support.
Thanks,
Michael

I found out that when changing the <Transaction-Attribute> of
my message-driven beans to "none" instead of "Required", the
server is able to display the console promptly. Otherwise,
it takes about five minutes to show up...

Hi.
Hmm. Definitely not correct behavior. Does this only happen when your
server is
running your application, or does it also happen when your server is
idle (application

How do you know that your server is processing JMS messages when this

Hi!
I am running WLS6.1 SP2 on W2K SP2, with Cloudscape 4.0.
I am unable to access the console (after waiting a couple minutes)nor to force
a server shutdown through the command
line, which results in the following exception:
Failed to connect to t3://127.0.0.1:7001 due to:[t3://127.0.0.1:7001:Destination
unreachable; nested exception is:
java.io.InterruptedIOException: Read timed out; No availablerouter to
destination]
It seems to be because the server is in heavy processing of
JMS messages which, when consumed, result in bulk inserts
in the database. However, I need to force a "clean" server
shutdown to be sure that the database does a checkpoint and flushesall the commited
data.
Any hint would be greatly appreciated,

Forced or abrupt (crash etc) server shutdown - What is this?
Hi
We are having the following issues in the prod environment...which doesnt seem to be that promising...BPEL is stopping and starting itself with the following message:
07/08/01 14:55:29 Forced or abrupt (crash etc) server shutdown detected startin g recovery process...
07/08/01 14:55:29 Recovery completed, 0 connections committed and 0 rolled back.
Would be great if someone could shed some light as to whats going on.
Thx!05/11/02 09:53:47 Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (9.0.4.0.0) initializedHi, doesn't that mean that your OC4J server has been recovered successfully and has initialized successfully? Try accessing the urls that were known to work. Any problem?
You should see little message on the console from that point on unless you use the admin tool or you start oc4j with some debugging/profiling flags or something serious has happened.
05/11/02 09:53:44 log4j:ERROR Could not find value for key log4j.appender.errorThis error is unlikely to be related to oc4j. You may start oc4j with one more java option:
java -Dlog4j.debug=true -jar oc4j.jar
to debug that error. -
Forced or abrupt (crash etc) server shutdown detected, starting recovery
Hi,
I have encountered following error message in server.log of Oracle10gAS ver 10.1.2.0.2.
"Forced or abrupt (crash etc) server shutdown detected, starting recovery process..."
I got this message when I was pushing 1000 xml requests to a receiving servlet in Oracle10gAS Ver. 10.1.2.0.2. Out of 1000 requests, few of the request were not being reached to the receiving servlet. I amm hoping the problem would be becuase of the server being restarted automatically.
Could anybody who had faced this problem help me out as this is a showstoper and needs to be resolved ASAP.hi chchang,
Have you solved your problem? If so, please let me know the solution.
Since im facing the same sort of problem. But in out case, the forced shutdown operation occurs frequently (within 10 -15 mins).
Thanks in advance..

X connection to :0.0 host broken (explicit kill or server shutdown)
Hello All,
I strongly believed in using JAVA Swing GUI, for huge data visualization.
Now I encounter a problem:
I start up my application, and things work very well and looks pretty fast.
I try and create a JPanel with is almost 11.3MPixels (just length), and I don't have any problem. However, if I try and create a JPanel 15.4MPixels (just length), my application crashes and I receive a weird error - "X connection to :0.0 host broken (explicit kill or server shutdown)". This happens only on Linux (I am using Debian). I bumped Xmx till 1024m (My system has more than that).
If I run same application in Windows, I do not have this error at all, everything displays fine. I am using -Xmx200m.
This is not a Memory issue. I am assuming something is wrong with Java-on-Linux or I am unaware of what is happening.
Can anyone of you enlighten, and help me solve this issue?
Thanks in advance,

Downloaded photoshop elements 12, installed ok and activated, started it and splash screen displayed and app launched then shutdown immediately.
Repeat and crashes again. Help it won't start!Solved! Tried everything in the support documents and none of it worked. Massive frustration with Adobe Chat staff who know nothing and just kept telling me to look at the support documents over and over. They also gave me a contact number in Australia that has a recorde d message saying the product is not supported! What is that about?
Finally Anand from Adobe tech support called me (from when I reopened the original support case that gave me the serial number).
Just had to rename folder SLCache in c:\program files(x86) and reaccept the EULA and reactive. Now everything works fine. Way to hard. -
How to Deel with CIF integration modles during SCM server shutdown
Hi
How to handle CIF integration model during SCM server shutdown , whether to keep it as (in R/3) active mode or change to inactive mode?
Any ideas or experience sharing around this topic would be great !
Thanks
SunnyHi,
This depends on which IM you are using. The most imp IM to be deactivated is IM for ATP Check. If this is kept active, then Sales order confirmation will be searched in APO - which will not be available.
All other IMs for master data and other transaction data are not required to be deactivated.
However, once your APO system is up, make sure that you Re-initialize all IMs (except IM for Location) in sequence, using transaction RIMODINI. Rather than reactivation, this transaction deletes transaction data and re initializes. Thus both systems will be in sync.

Sending JMS on server shutdown.
Hi, All.
I need to send JMS notification on server shutdown.
But before I can do anything, Weblogic (8.1) on graceful
shutdown suspends JMS server (other services too) and any
of my listeners can't send messages.
That is what I tried to do:
1. Send it from servlet destroy(). Failed, because
of there are no destinations at this moment.
2. Send it from ApplicationLifecycleListener.preStop()
implementation. Failed, because of preStop wasn't called
(BTW, it is a feature or bug?).
3. Send it from main method of shutdown listener
(<shutdown-listener> of weblogic-application.xml). Failed.
There are no exceptions, no errors, but also there are no
messages.
Two questions:
1. Is it possible to configure Weblogic for suspending
JMS server after calling application listeners?
2. Is it possible to do something on shutdown before
shutdown is really started?
On every "yes" I have to ask: how? :)
Thank you.
Best regards,
Sergey Kryzhanovsky.Sergey,
Have you tried sending the JMS message from a shutdown class?
At least on 7.0 it looks from the server log that the shutdown classes
are invoked before the JMS server is stopped so it might work.
Also it might be a good idea to delay returning from your shutdown class
to allow consumers of the message enough time to consume it, as
otherwise the JMS server might keep the message but the consumers will
never get a chance to consume it because of the shutdown.

Dejan
