  Hello SCN Forum Administrators,
  it seems that all code formating which was done with the
  [code]
  Tags was not automatically converted during the Forum Software Upgrade. What can I do to correct my code in the Forum Topic Re: Display ALV GRID with PHP? The message was posted by myself but I can't edit it.

  Hi all,
  the new forum version does contain a filter that can handle the old [code] tags. The problem was that we had to turn it off because it permanently ran into Stackoverflow errors and thus bringing the whole landscape into trouble.
  Now we have to convert all the old [code] markup in all messages with the new {code} markup. We are currently testing this.
  In other words: [code] is no longer supported, the usage of {code} is recommended.

• Hello Mac heads.! I just downloaded Onyx for tiger.  All went well.  But I try to launch onyx from my applications and it doesn't offer checking the S.M.A.R.T. status so I can check my disk.  Everything else appears.  Uninstall only, forums, website etc.

  After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
  applejack AUTO
  Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
  At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
  The 6 things it does are...
  Correct any Disk problems.
  Repair Permissions.
  Clear out Cache Files.
  Repair/check several plist files.
  Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
  Trash old Log files.
  First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
  Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

• Can't open some blogs, forums, websites and livestreams, but with Internet Exprorer I can?!

  When I try to open some blogs, forums, websites and livestreams, they can not be opened. Specifically, as it is trying to redirect me to another link and it's always the same: gostats.com? But even this address does not open, but it just tries to load all the time, but without success. I haven't got such problems when all the same IP address is opened through Intenet Exprorer. Is this a problem with Firefox, or a virus, or something else?

  More information. This morning, after waiting for a long time I got an error message from Foxnews.com that the page name was in error and showed some links to some news stories. Tried two of the Foxnews.com links and they worked.
  The error message is:

  you may be interested in the content below.
  So it looks like its the main page that causes the problem and it may be a Foxnews.com web site problem?
  Still not working this morning so I tried "private browsing" and that worked.
  So I tried two things and the second one fixed it, at least for now.
  So first clear your cache. See "Tools", "Clear Recent History" and check the details to make sure you only clear "Cache" and whatever else you want cleared. I only cleared the cache.
  But I didn't see "Clear recent history" I thought I could only do it in "Options". So I did it through "Tools", "Options", "Advanced", "Network" tab then under "Network Storage" click the "Clear Now" button.
  So try and see if that works.
  Otherwise I tried clearing all of the Foxnews cookies first. But that didn't seem to help by itself. So only clear them out if you have to. And add a comment here so other people know if they need to do both.

• Strange behaviour of the forum website

  Since yesterday I observe a strange behaviour of the forum website:
  There is a thread by Foto-Gabriela called "LR 3.4 crashes after some hours of work with very strange behaviour"
  When I select "All threads" I cannot see this thread, but when I select "Open questions", it is visible.
  It says that there are 6 answers. When I click on the thread, it comes up with only 3 answers visible.
  What's going on, here?

  This behavior, with posts appearing and disappearing, has been occurring for a few weeks, and is just one of many symptoms of the poor forum service provided to Adobe by Jive.  You can keep abreast of such forum issues at the Forum Comments forum:

  From your description, I am not sure how to set the MVC forum website database on process of creating the website.
  I tried to reproduce this issue, and I used a existed database to create a new site and it worked. According to the error message, I suggest you can try to create a new database or server and set the username and password. And then click next step by step.

• Forum website is loosing watch lists

  I'm watching a few categories and from time to time, the Forum website 'un-watches' them.
  I've to login and watch them again. After that, I'll receive email notifications for a while and they'll stop soon (happened on the same day a few times).

• Website upgraded to CR2008/VS2008, reptviewer-refresh hangs with a wait msg

  Crystal Report IX.2/VS2005 website app converted to CR2008/VS2008:  compiles clean, runs, but reportviewer-refresh hangs with  "Please wait while the document is being processed" message.  Can anybody suggest a solution or hypothesis?

  I've converted a legacy Crystal IX.2/Visual Studio 2005 web-site application to Crystal 2007/Visual Studio 2008.  The compile is free of all errors and warnings.  The application operates correctly and the Crystal report-viewer screen comes up with the correct initial page of information.  But when I click a Next/Prev/First/ast icon, I get a stuck with a perpetual "Please wait while the document is being processed" message.  In addition, the time for the Reportviewer to appear with the first page of the report information is considerably slower (2X, 3X) than it is with the original VS2005/CR IX.2 website project.  We are using ODBC to Oracle 11g.
  I've searched for hits on the web and in this forum, and have tried various experiments with the registration, etc. - but nothing fixes this for me.  Can anybody suggest a hypothesis or solution?

  We're using ASP.Net.  The website project was originally written using Visual Studio 2005, Crystal Reports XI.2, and VB.Net. 
  The app is normally run on IIS 6.0, but I am executing the converted version in the Visual Studio 2008 debugger, i.e. without IIS.  The browser is IExplorer 8.0.
  I have copied and upgraded the project to Visual Studio 2008, Crystal Reports 2008, still VB.Net.  It compiles clean, without any error messages of warning.  When I run the app, the various report selection pages appear correctly, and the correct report-viewer initial page appears as well (although in  60 seconds versus 15 seconds originally.  The main problem is that the viewer does not refresh when I click the next or last icon, a wait message popup appears perpetually.  The data access is ODBC to Oracle 11g. 
  For comparion, below are the assembly sections of the web.config file from both the original and upgraded versions of the project.  If there is any more information that would be helpful, I can post or email it.  Thanks for looking into this,

• Firefox won't remember my password etc on forums/websites i use regularly

  I use ultimate reef and reef sanctuary forums and each time I access these sites I have to re-enter my user name and password despite having ticked the remember me box. I have same issue using btinternet.com. I am relatively new to Firefox having moved from IE due to having similar probs with my btinterent account, but didn't have them with the others.

  * Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
  * You must allow that cookie (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions), especially for secure websites and if you let cookies expire when Firefox closes
  * Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
  * Make sure that you not run Firefox in [[Private Browsing]] mode

• SCM / APO forum on upgrade

  Just to moot a proposal for new forum on SCM or APO upgrade
  There are forums for ECC & CRM upgrades
  For APO, we have few threads & a good wiki on newer versions
  Are there no upgrades happening

  Hi Andre,
  There can be a number of transitional steps to move from SCM with liveCache to ERP/SCM on HANA. The bottom line is that liveCache becomes part of the HANA database so there is no need for a separate liveCache server. SCM on HANA is generally available now. See SAP Note 1825703. I believe the following steps are representative. You'll have to consult with your SAP representative for the exact details.
  Steps -> SCM w/ LC -> SCM w/ LC and HANA -> SCM w/ HANA -> SCM on ERP w/ HANA
  You don't have to go through each step. I'm not sure when the consolidated ERP/SCM on HANA will be GA.

• Firefox on my laptop with not allow me to post on a forum website

  Firefox on my laptop will not allow me to post to a website forum I visit all the time. It will not let me logout of the website either. This happened suddenly while I was on the site. Firefox on my PC works fine.

  The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.
  There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
  * Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
  * Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

• Forum software 'upgrade'

  This has to be the most useless forum 'upgrade' that Adobe have ever managed. Heaven only knows how we're supposed to keep track of anything at all now... and yes I have complained about it in the correct place - and I'm not the only one, by any means. What on EARTH were they playing at?

  Quite. What Adobe simply don't get is what people actually want and need from the forums in the vast majority of instances. People aren't looking for a social interaction site like Facebook, where you have to 'follow' people and 'like' what they say (noticed the 'like' buttons here now?). They simply want somewhere where they can ask a question and get an answer. This means that the questions, and the responses, have to be transparent - and the reply history has to be visible.
  What this means is that Jive is completely irrelevant as a 'solution'. Even as social software, this sucks. So why are Adobe persisting with this rubbish - unless there's some sort of a shady back-door arrangement going on????

• Forum platform upgrade

  Greetings
  You may have noticed some changes to the consumer forum as a result of an upgrade that was performed last night. There were quite a few changes made to the User Interface (UI) in addition to enhancements of the forum capabilities.
  We are working to make this a better experience and welcome your feedback on the platform changes. There are a number of additional enhancements pending which will be implemented in the coming days.
  As we add more rich features to the community we will post specific details on what these are and how to make the best use of them.

  Hi,
  if you are migrating only ODI you'd have too much issue. IF you are also migrating some file-server remember that unix has got a different new line delimiter. An issue that drive me crazy was that every variable has to be declared in each package.
  Have you run RCC?

• I can't reply to posts on any forum, website, or blog. I can open a reply window, but as soon as I click "post" the window closes. Any suggestions?

  Started happening today, after the newest version of Mozilla downloaded (automatically on restart). Never happened before. It's not the mouse.
  For instance, if I go to my favorite forum, open up a reply window, I can type a response just fine. When I click the "post button" the window closes. I can open the same reply window, but it just won't let me post my reply.
  Just tried clicking on a response in the "This happened" window below, and guess what? I can't click on any of them......

  No idea how to fix that. Try preview first, you will still have to post though.
  If you can post sometimes before it fails, I would recommend --- forget the if, you'll need it anyway for mozilla sites, and occasionally for other sites.

• CBS forum website has excluded Safari

  It may be of interest to Safari authors as well as users that CBS has decided not to allow full access to features for Safari users. You will notice in the response that they will include Firefox as well as IE. What makes Safari non-negotiable for websites like this?

  Safari follows the rules and ones like IE do their own thing and HTML programers are too lazy to write correct HTML using hooks that aren't fully accepted principles along with being too lazy to test in other browsers.
  My HMO only accepts IE and my broadband only IE and firefox.
  Times are changing and in time Safari will be more accepted
