FrameMaker 12 won't startup
Hello,
I'm running FrameMaker 12 on Windows 7.
When I startup the program, I must select one of the follow three.(in 'Choose Interface' window.)
- FrameMaker
- Structured FrameMaker
- FrameMaker XML Author
Unfortunately, after clicking 'Structured FrameMaker' or 'FrameMaker XML Author', error is occurred.
Error message is follows.
- Internal Error 12004, 23459156, 23459450, 26389685. FrameMaker has detected a serious problem and must quit.
Please, I hope that I receive a good solution.

1. There was not admin privilege during installaiton process.
But, I can execute the FrameMaker.exe file as 'admin privilege'
- Adobe\AdobeFrameMaker12\FrameMaker.exe
2. I updated 12.0.2 version.
Despite the above two method. similar errror messge occurred.
- Internal error 12024, 21362292, 21362586, 24295759. ~~~

Installed helpdesk to sles11sp1 vmware and won't startup
Hi,
I installed the service desk to sles11sp1 for vmware and it won't startup.
I am also running zenworks configuration mgmt 11 RC3 on the same server.
I installed with:
java -install install.jar -console
When prompted for a port I took the default 8700. It gave me a null and then prompted for a 1 to continue. So I selected 1 and continued.
If I http://ip:8700 I get nothing.
If I netstat -a -n|grep 8700 I get nothing.
What do I need to do to get this to work? Also I thought I could get this service desk integrated with zenworks configuration management?

Firefox won't startup. Icon bounces once then stops. Mac G5 Mac OS 10.5.8 Was OK now it isn't.
Firefox won't startup so I can get to its preferences, profiles or anything else for that matter. This happens every time I try to start it up. I've recently reloaded my system software and transfered my systems settings from a backup hard drive that Time Machine (Mac app.) saved.
Firefox 4 versions and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac.
Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

2nd Gen iPad Mini stopped working yesterday. Won't startup under and configuration and is not recognized by my iMac. I believe it upgraded itself to iOS 8 (????)

So it sounds as if your iPad is not responding at all when you try to turn it on, is that correct? If so, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

I was using my MacBook Pro Mid-2010 and then the screen went blank, I did a hard restart and went to restart again and it won't startup. The white light comes on and then the computer kinda "clicks" off!

My TC won't startup with ethernet cables connected.
It will start up fine w/out ethernet cables, but with ethernet, it won't startup. I have two wired connections, my thunderbolt display/mbp and my cannon printer.
It will sit with amber light solid.
When I disconnect the two ethernet cables, it will startup fine. Then I connect the two cables and everything is good.
This is a new from apple store today 2tb TC. It's taken about 2 hours to get it setup until now I've figured out the ethernet cable issue. Is there a fix? I'm probably going to exchange it tomorrow or in the next couple of days if there's no fix provided.Well, it's working fine today. I'll continue to try it over the next couple of days and if it happens more, I'll take it back for an exchange. It happend quite a few times last night.
I have apple care for my mbp, so this should be covered on it. About 1.5 years left.

My G4 AGP won't startup after turning on firewire target disk mode
Can any one help me on this? I have a G4 AGP Graphics Mac running 10.4.11.
I turned on firewire target disk mode in the startup utilities to transfer files to my G5. The G4 started up in Firewire just fine and I could open it up as a drive on my G5, but the problem now is that the G4 won't startup in anything but firewire mode.
So my question is: How do you shut off the firewire target disk mode? I have tried all the keyboard commands at startup and inserted the Tiger install disk and holding the C key, but nothing will let me get me passed the Firewire Icon at startup.

The battery is charging.It sounds like your hard drive is bad. If you can see it in Disk Utility you may still be able to get your files off of it. If you have one of the MacBooks with the removable battery it's very easy to put in a new hard drive.

Put your old hard drive in an external case and after you've formatted your new hard drive and installed your operating system on it plug in your old hard drive and see if it is recognized by the new system. If so then transfer whatever files you want to the new hard drive -
IAS console and other services won´t startup after sucessfull install

Kernal Panic after update to 10.4.6/Missing HD Space/Won't Startup from DVD
Sorry to lump three problems together, but they may all be related.
First - I was getting random Kernal Panics while at 10.4.5, so I attempted to update to 10.4.6. The computer wouldn't even come close to starting up. I got a screen full of Kernal Panic info. I reinstalled Tiger 10.4.3, and that's where the system stands now. It's running fine.
Second - My computer suddenly announced that the startup drive was out of disk space. I looked and the window said 30g. I closed the window and opened it again only to see it at zero k. I dumped some items to get some disk space, but now I can't get my 30g back.
Third - I want to startup from the Tiger disk like I did when I reinstalled, but it won't startup from the DVD. I'd like to run Disk Repair on the main hard drive. It showed some errors when I ran a Test using the Disk Utility.
I'm hoping this is all related. The computer seems to be running fine, but I can't update or find my missing space. Any advice I can get on these issues would be appreciated. Thanks.
JonIs your computer saving a panic.log after each of the kernel panics? You can see by opening Console (in /Applications/Utilities) and looking for it. I'm not at my Mac now, so I can't tell you under what section to look for that log.
When you try to boot from the CD, are you holding down the 'C' key as the computer reboots? You can also try rebooting with the Option key pressed, which will present you with a list of bootable volumes. It will also give you access to the Apple Hardware Test (if this is the DVD that came with the computer). If you can select the Apple Hardware Test, I'd recommend doing the Extended Test, which will test the hardware, including the RAM.
For the disappearing disk space, you could have some process that is going bezerk and filling up the log files. In any event, to see where you disk space is being used, download and run Omni DiskSweeper. -

Boot from your install disc, run Disk Utility in case the G5 disk needs repairs.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
*(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*
If you cannot boot from your install disc, try booting in Safe Mode

Early 2009 suddenly shuts down or won't startup
Hi, I've recently been having some problems with my mac pro 2009. It will suddenly shut down and won't restart or if left for a while won't startup.
Sometimes if I press the power button it will sort of startup but then suddenly turn off during the initial powerup (before the screen turns on).
I brought it in for repair and they replace the power supply, called apple and end the end they said they reset something on the motherboard but couldn't really find what was wrong... Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?Hi Phil,

I hate to be blunt, Phil, but the real solution is to get Apple to give you a replacement. You're within your rights as a consumer to have a perfectly working Macintosh. Most of us do. I haven't read a bad report on these machines yet, but if it's not working right then something is wrong.

My iMac desktop computer won't startup anymore... Was freezing up intermittently lately, but now it gets stuck on the grey Apple logo.
I tried reinstalling OSX and no change. There are no abnormal sounds coming from it either. I am currently running the extended hardware test after reading the troubleshooting manual that came with the computer by inserting the original system disk1 in the drive and holding down the D key while powering on.
It has been running for about 6 minutes now and is almost 1/2 way done. Any ideas??? Suggestions???? Would be a great help.

My imac won't startup only apple on gray screen and spinning gear. what can I do to make it work. I was using techtool to optimize and on restart it showed up with a can't find finder, it seemed to be stuck in operating system 9.0. I normally start up in 10.

the first thing you should do for this problem is to boot holding the x. this will sometimes force a startup of os x. you can also try startup manager holding the option key. next try booting to the install disk of whatever operating system is installed on your computer (by holding the c key until you see a spinning cog under the apple) and then repair the disk with disk utility. this article gives directions for that http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214. if you can't boot to the disk try the fsck outlined in this article. make sure you select macintosh hd for the repair and that you can after a few attempts reach a point where disk utility says no repairs are necessary. after that you may be able to boot up okay. if you can't, attempt a safe boot by holding the shift key until the spinning cog appears again. if you can boot up in safe mode then remove items in /library/startup items and in login items in accounts in the system preferences (but they are called "startup items" prior to tiger). also, i would remove the fonts folder from the home library and then try a regular boot from there. should keep you busy for awhile. i hope one of these things solves your problem. just an added note-- if disk utility cannot repair the disk then back up info ( you may want to try firewire transfer http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583) then you can try a 3rd party utility like diskwarrior or techtool pro. if those cannot fix the problem, the you will have to erase and install your operating system. before this though, check the smart status of your drive in disk utility. you can do this by selecting the first icon above macintosh hd with the alphnumeric code and manufacturer name attached to it. if it is still okay, smart status should say verified. sometimes smart status is not available. it depends on the drive. -
IChat won't startup - the return

iChat 3 won't startup for me. I've tried reinstalling as suggested in the previous thread but to no avail ... it looks like a UPnP problem with the Netgear wireless router. Could this be a bug?

Jamie:~$I also had a problem starting up iChat 3.1 after installing OS X 10.4.3. Basically, I had the iChat icon in the dock and on the desktop and when I would click on the icon, the program would not even start. I went and spoke to someone at the local Apple store and did the following:
1. Deleted all iChat preference files from the system libary. Macintosh HS > Library > Preferences > search for and delete all ichat preference files.
2. Downloaded, installed and ran free utility called Onyx for OS X that cleans up cache, etc.

3. Restarted machine
4. Removed iChat icons from both the dock and from desktop and instead started iChat from Finder window under Applications.
iChat now works fine. Not sure following all of these steps did it or just #4. Having Onyx as a utility is worth it anyway.
