Fraudulent activity - Account hacked

Hi.
My account has been hacked, someone has paid for a bunch of Skype credits to the value of around £80.  I've not used the account in a while and was notified by email that credit was being paid for with my account.  
I've changed my password and unlinked the payment method associated with the account - how do I report fraudulent acitivity and get the money returned?

Here in the United States, I heard on the morning news another major retailer's sales and transaction records have been breached with reportedly upwards of 6,000,000 (six million ) credit card numbers stolen ... credit card fraud escalates, and apparently will continue to be a serious problem.  I disagree that these fraudulent purchases are "an inside job" and that Skype is intentionally "hiding" how to contact its customer service unit; problems with Skype's customer service web site have unfortunately been on-going and reported here previously.  When I typed "contact Skype Customer Service" in my web browser's search, this FAQ article was the first result:  https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA1170/how-can-i-contact-skype-customer-service
That said, and appreciating the frustration, aggravation, and consequences of these problems, so all are prepared with the information required when you finally do reach Skype Customer Service, please review this FAQ article:

If you continue to experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service, try again using a different web browser and choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also impede reaching an agent.
Please remember to sign on to your account details and check that your Skype account's registered e-mail address is accurate, and then change your Skype account and any saved payment method account passwords immediately, if you have not already done so.

    HOw do I contact skype? my account was hacked into and £150 of credit purchased using paypal whilst was abroad in Africa two weeks ago.
    I was (and still am) unable to contact skype. the contact us page says they are having problems and to post on forum but each time I try there is unexpected error.
    Have changed password and blocked skype from taking money from Paypal. Skype did freeze the account as suspicious so luckily no more taken.
    The only reason they had my financial details was because had taken out trial of phone service but cancleed 24 hrs later when realised it did not extend to Senegal. I had no way of knowing they had kept my details because of £1 debited at beginning of trial.
    If am unable to get through to skype I will need to go to resolution page at paypal.

    Unfortunately your options are limited. The only way to contact skype is using online form and chat.

    When it comes to customer service Skype (or Microsoft)'s attitude is that weather you pay or not WE WILL NOT PROVIDE YOU ANY SERVICE and we dont care.
    If it doesnt work then raise your query with paypal. They might be able to help.
    PS I am yet to find anyone on this thread whoes problem is been resolved..

  • Fraudulent activity on my account

    Hello,
    I noticed fraudulant activity on my skype account. I received some email about recharge, which never reached my account. Anyway 57.5€ in 5 transactions were recorded on my credit card (mastercard, belfius). Obviously skype is saying i should go to the credit card company, and the credit card company says i should get in contact with skype and the police,... How to get in contact with skype? Impossible to send any email to any customer service? Writing this message seems to be the only contact option possible!
    So how can i contact skype and do something?

  • Account hacked and admin access transferred to new...

    I'm hoping I can get help quickly with this. I have a business account and my user id: "[Removed for privacy]" has been the admin for over a year, since I've opened my account. Recently, my account was hacked from someone from Algeria and administrator access was changed from my id to a different one, that I don't have access to. Then $300 was charged to my credit card and all these Algeria calls were made!!! My bank is refunding the amounts, but still, it put me in a major bind. I would have though that Skype would have seen this fraudulent activity and put a stop to it, but nothing happened.
    How on earth do I restore admin access to my user id? Now I can't do anything with the limited access I have.

  • Account hacked, credit card used and cant get acce...

    Hi, 
    I have had my main account hacked again for a second time and cannot get access back. I just got some skype notifications that there have been 12 purchases made in China on my acount. I cannot recover my password as it never sends me the recovery email. I do get the emails that someone is making purchases on my skype account but I cant seem to do anything about it. 
    The account receovery asks me when I opened my skype acount and I have no idea. I lost access to this account so long ago that I have given up getting it back but just got a second bout of transactions . 
    Can anyone help me with this please?

    It appears to me that you have created a new Skype account as you posted your enquiry here on this message board - use this new account to contact Skype Customer Service to report the fraudulent use of the other account, to request alternate verification details to confirm your "ownership" of the other account, and to remove saved payment details.  I would not recommend choosing the "account recovery" path as you have previously attempted.
    If you can recover the account, so much the better.  If not, request the account be removed.
    Last and certainly not least, report the unauthorized purchases to the issuer of the payment method on file.   The charge-back process will likely trigger Skype to suspend your first account.

  • Possible fraudulent activity - unable to contact c...

    My account is not working properly. There is a message on my account telling me to contact customer support quoting a reference number. But I am unable to contact customer support.  I am following all the instructions, but I just end up back at this community support site.  Even the 'reporting fraudulent activity' tab refers me back here.  Skype is telling me to contact them. But I can't!!  Can anyone help?  I am now getting more and  more concerned that there is something fraudulent going on. Money has been deducted from my credit card, but I am being told I have no credit.  

    Hello - can anyone help me? I have bought a Europe Unlimited subscription (for calls to mobiles/landlines). It worked for fine for about 3 days,  but has stopped working.  When I checked my account it tells me I have no skype credit (which doesn't make sense as I definitely paid for a month and have used nothing like that).  But when I try to add a new subscription, it tells me I stil have an active Europe Unlimited subscription.
    I also get a message saying there is a technical problem with my account, and to contact customer support. But there is no customer support. I just get stuck in an endless loop of faqs and 'community support'.  How is that possible? How can a company take money from you, and then simply refuse to provide an e-mail or phone number for support when things go wrong? It's totally unethical.  I can understand FAQs for people looking to join Skype.  But once you've paid for a service surely you're entitled to a basic level of support.
    Very very angry and frustrated customer who has just wasted about 2 hours trawling through totally unhelpful FAQs!

    I've checked your account, and see no issues with your subscription. So, if you're using a web browser, please log out, clear the browser cache, and then log back in to https://cloud.acrobat.com. And, if you're using Reader, make sure that you're logged in—you should see your name listed in the upper-right corner. If not, click the Sign In link and then sign in with your user name and password.

  • Fraudulent Activity

    My visa card seems to be getting charged a monthly fee of around $13 to $14 and it recurs at the end of each month. I rang my bank and they told me to try to sort it out first with Skype. However, everytime I try to follow the link to report this fraudulent activity I get a message saying the page is down and to try back later. How long to I have to keep waiting for them to fix this problem so that I can report this issue. I really don't want to have to re-apply for a new visa card as it means  lot of work re-organising my direct debits.
    Hope someone here can help me with an answer

    I have not selected indian CoA. Through User defined i have created entire CoA. There, i have given Active Accounts as Level 6 instead of Level 5 . Will it create Problem.

    Absolutely no problem.  Levels are only for COA grouping.  IN B1 Upto 10 levels you can group your COAs.

    May I know the details on Retro active accounting.?
    The beauty of SAP in Payroll is Retroactive Accounting,means if you gone live from say 01.01.2012 and in 2017 you have to increase the pay of employees wef 01.01.2012 then the system will calculate all the arrears due to an employee from 2012.
    Also remember any changes to employee master data that is back dated then also the payroll for that employee runs a retro from that back date and any changes related to his pay are to be effected in that retro period are termed as arrears for him.
    before this you have to do configuration of carry fwd and brought fwd wage types(this you can search in forum)
    If we enable this retro active accounting would it have impact on the currrent payroll?
    As said earlier we do not enable retro,the date from which you are going live in system is the Earliest retro active date set in IT 0003 of an Employee,this is cause anything beyond this date does not have any record of Payroll.
    I have tried to answer as per my view also lets wait for others to share their view.

    Same case here. Account hacked around End of April 2013.. and Calls made to India, Pakistan and Cyprus.
    Were you able to get credit back. Any help on how to restore the account?
    Skype's Customer Service sucks - It is pretty shamefull that a voice telephony company can not put its customer service on skype voice call... and instead using chat only function.

    I think you can contact customer service for further clarifications and advice.  However, I'm not certain if they are offering refunds in cases of hacked accounts.

    I've searched on the forums but could't get to a definitive conclusion.
    Is there a way to create new child accounts under an active account with transactions?
    I have an account 6226 with transactions.
    The customer would like to divide this account in 4 new accounts:
    62261, 62262, 62263, 62264.
    B1 gives an error when I try to change the account to title which is undestandable but I imagine that should be a way to do this beacause with time the customers needs can change...

    B1 has only one level for active account. You can get the definitive conclusion that it is not possible to have child active account.
