I have written and have my illustration for a childrens book..can I use the Author I Books to upload my drawings and story and will it create my book with these so I can publish to Apple and perhaps Amazon?

You can't publish to Amazon if you create your book with iBooks Author, only to Apple.
You should be able to use iBA. Try it, it's free.

Recommend a free online book

I read the tutorial on Java Security but I couldn't understand it. I think I have to know first what authentication, authorization, SSL (and other related matters) are and how they work. I already did a seach on google for this but there are many. Please recommend to me any free online book (for novice) where I can get a basic knowlege about security and how they works. I have heard of some people having a similar problem, which was resolved by a simple restart of their iPhone. If that doesn't help you, you may want to consider de-authorizingyour computer in iTunes, then re-authorizing it and performing a sync to your iPhone again.

To be able to read ebooks purchased from the iTunes Store you must have OS X 10.9 Mavericks installed on your computer. That version of the OS contains iBooks, which allows you to read your purchased ebooks on your computer. .
If you decide to install Mavericks make a backup for your computer first, and double the hardware requirements to make sure your Mac can run it.

It depends on what books you're referring to. All books from the iTunes Store are downloaded to your iPad and except for any special features the book may contain that requires an Internet connection will be readable without such a connection.
If you're talking about books from some other source, we'd need to know the source before we could offer opinions.

When my 17" macbook pro was replaced (16 months old), I dealt with Customer Relations. They emailed me details of exactly what was agreed upon over the phone, and actually I asked for a 15" model, because I wanted the 15" and not the 17". They had me sign an agreement for the change to the 15" model. Also, my original macbook pro still had applecare extended warranty and they gave me a choice to either transfer the remainder to my new one or to get reimbursed. I asked to be reimbursed, and then re-purchased applecare for the new macbook pro.
I am very pleased that I got the newer model and it is much better than my original one.

there is at least one person who posted on this forum that said that Applecare agreed to give them the applecare extended warranty at no extra cost for the new unit.

Free sample book downloads - How do I get them into my reader?

I have just installed Adobe Digital Editions on my computer, running Vista. I tried to download 3 of their free samples. One, the first chapter of a book, downloaded immediately into Adobe Digital Editions and showed up on my bookshelf.
The other two, (books by Arthur C. Clarke and Philip K. Dick) did not show up in my Adobe Digital Editions bookshelf, no matter how many times I downloaded them. I found them in my recent downloads file, but could not open them from there, either, as they had a strange extension (not .pdf, but something else).
I've tried everything within my meagre capabilities and am becoming frustrated. Can anyone help?

Thank you very much for your quick response. However, I tried double clicking on the .acsm file but the book did not appear on the Adobe Digital Editions bookshelf or in any of the files.Do you have any other tips?
The sample chapter that did appear on my bookshelf (from another book) appeared instantly when I selected it, so I don't even know if that one was a .acsm file or something else.
