Free goods against multiple materials

Hello
I have a customer who would like to do the following;
if a customer orders any of the following materials
material(1)
material(2)
material(3)
material(4)
in  multiples of 3 for example;
1 x material(1)
2 x material(4)
or
1 x material(1)
1 x material(3)
1 x material(4)
Then the customer should receive a free product.
1 x material(1)
2 x material(4)
1 x FREE PRODUCT
Is it possible to do this in Create Free Goods transaction in SAP R3
Thanks
Jamal

What is the purpose of giving the same material as second line item.
specify in the first line item itself.
or els the condition record which you have specified that for 100 material of A gives 10 material of B modify it to 10 of A should give 1 material of B
The first you will be useful for you.

  • Free Goods in Multiple Sales Orders

    Hi,
I have one scenario, so please help me out.
If customer orders 10 items, he gets 1 item as free item. But if he orders those 10 items in more than one sales order not in single sales order then how the customer will get the 1 item as a free item?
    Thanks,
    Satya

    Hi Satya
    Your Qn needs clarity
If i have understood it correctly this cannot be mapped in SAP R3
Free goods like material A and B if bought together then Material C is free cannot be done in R3
Like that 10 different materials bought and 11 th material should be free and if this is what you are asking
    not possible
    OR
    Normal 10  pens + 1 pen freee
But in a single order i will not put 10 units it will be spread out to 4 or 5 orders and when cumulatively the total fig becomes 10 units then 1free unit should trigger
If this is what you want and this cannot be mapped as Free goods in R3
Because free goods are sales order based or document based and you cant spread the qty to 4 or 5 documents or 4 or 5 orders and it is meaningless
But this can be handled as a rebate in R3

  • Free Goods for multiple line items of the same material

    Hi Friends,
We have configured Free Goods to a particular material in such a way that if the customer orders 100 qty of Material A then he gets 10 qty of Material B free. This is working fine if there is only one line item of Material A with qty more than 100.
However, if the order is created in such a way that there are two line items of material A for 50 qty each then the system is not giving the free material B, even though the total ordered qty in the sales order for material A is 100.
How can this be configured in the system? Please Help.

  • PO Document Type for Free Goods only

    Good day,
Business Scenario: Client wants to track FreeGoods made. To solve this, we have created PO document type "Free Goods PO"
Current: I choose Free Goods PO, input materials and then tick the FG indicator.
Question: Is it possible that for this document type, every material I put, the indicator is automatically ticked? And that only free goods can be placed in this document type?
    Thank you,
    Simon

    Simon,
You will need someone with a developer key to be able to implement the code.  However, in the main PO processing program SAP has created spots where customers can add custom code for situations like this.
If you go to transaction SE81, you can select the MM module.  From there click the "Select subtree +/-" button (will highlight MM in yellow).  After that click "Information System".  This will bring you to the developer workbench where you can review all of the enhancement spots and user exits in the MM module.
If you expand Enhancements, and click on Enhancement Spots, a selection screen should appear to the right.  In enhancement spot enter 'es_saplmepo' and execute.  Double click on the enhancement spot.  That will produce the list of all of the enhancement points within that main program.  There are ones specific to the header fields as well as item fields.
If you scroll down to "item_process_main_01" and double click it will bring you into the code where the above if statement can be added (for some reason it doesn't bring be right to the item_process_main_01 spot so i have to scroll to find it).
As the program is running it will hit your enhancement and process that as it is going.  A developer can provide more details.
    Hope this helps,
    Matt

  • Free Goods for Materials from the same division

    Hi Friends,
We are trying to configure free goods based on customer and division in our system. If a customer orders any material belonging to a specific division, he is entitled for a free good.
For this we created a new condition table based on customer and division and maintained condition records that if he orders 100 qty of any material in Division 10 that he is entitled for 1 qty of material X.
Now the problem is that at the time of creating the sales order if Material A is entered for qty 50 and Material B is for qty 50 then the system does not give free goods. However, if we enter Materail A for 100 qty it gives the free goods 1 qty of Material X. Similarly, for Mat B with 100 qty it gives Mat X as free goods.
The system is not adding up the quantities for the multiple line items to calculate the free goods.
Is there any way by which we can achieve this.
    Regards,
    Abhishek

    Hi,
So far me too have configured and getting free goods for one material. for your requirement, i think you have to tell your Abaper to do corresponding Enhancement.
    Thanks

  • How to enable multiple entries for bundling free goods in vbn1?

    Hi SAP Gurus,
How can I enable bundling of free goods in SAP using vbn1?
In creating an entry, I place the material number, qty and other required fields then assign the material number of the item that I want to bundle with the 1st product. My problem is that I can only assign 1 material number to a product.
    Scenario:
Mat. No. 1 is the main item, then I assign matNo.2 to be budled with matNo.1. I also wanted to assign matNo.3 to be bundled with matNo.1. But unfortunately, When I place another entry using matNo.1. Error says that it is currently being processed. It seems I can only assign a single free goods. How can I set this to multiple?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Colleague,
No. This function is not provided in the R/3 System. Only one record is taken into account during the free goods determination with the existence of several valid condition records. This record is the one with the largest minimum quantity. For this record the system only generates one free goods subitem.
Free goods can only be supported on a 1:1 ratio. This means that an order item can lead to a free goods item. Agreements in the following form are not supported: #eWith material 1, material 2 and material 3 are free of charge#e or #eIf material 1 and material 2 are ordered at the same time, then material 3 is free of charge#e.
You can refer FAQ note 549963 which clarifies this point.
I hope it can be helpful.

  • Sending multiple email for free goods item category??

    Hi,
we have requirement to send email (Z report in smartforms) automatically when sale order save in tcode VA01/VA02.
we made reqd config in tcode NACE and we set access sequence on ORDER TYPE and it's working fine. but the problem is that when order booked for item category free goods it sends multiple emails. (i.e. no. of line items = no. of email) for one order no. All other item category is working fine. only problem with the free goods.
I am an abaper. all config are made with the consent of SD consultant.
    pls help.
    thanks
    Radhashyam Sahoo.

If you are an ABAPer, then it sounds like you simply need to debug the processing to identify where/why the fault occurs.  As for the NACE settings, you should understand the config as well as your functional counterpart.  It will make you a better developer and help you understand the processing code.

  • Single Excise Invoice Posting against multiple Goods Receipt.

    Hi,
We made a Purchase Order, say 4500000753, of 100 Qty,
The Vendor sent us the Material in two different Challans but in same date and two created two Material Documents, say 5000000772 & 5000000773 for Goods Receipt.
The Vendor sent us single Excise Invoice for both the Challans (goods receipt). Please advise how to post the Excise Invoice.
We tried to capture Invoice against Purchase Order, but the system is giving the following message:
Document 4500000753   does not contain any selectable items
    My Queries / doublts
    1. Is it possible to post excise document against multiple goods receipt documents.
    2. In what case we excise posting against Purchase Order and what is configuration required.
    3. Can we post excise invoice with two different Invoice Numbers like 123-A & 123-B
    Please guide.
    Regards,

    Hi Jeyakanthan,
    Thanks for the reply.
I have gone thru the "Multiple Goods Receipts for a Single Excise Invoice " in Sap Help Documentation, what I have understood is that we can do multiple Goods Receipt against a Single Invoice. Here in this case we do the Goods Receipt against Purchase Order , do the Invoice Capture for first goods receipt againts Purchase Order and we enter the Invoice Number (say 745, sent by the Vendor) while capturing excise invoice. When the second shipment (against the same PO) comes, we do goods receipt and we refer the "Only Refer Excise Invoice" while doing the goods receipt. Finally after when we have entered all the shipments for the PO, we do the Excise Posting.
Here in our case we have already posted the Goods Receipt (without entering the Invoice Number in first goods receipt) and now we want to capture & post excise invoice for a Single Excise Invoice (Invoice No. say 745,).
Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.
Here we have got two options:
    a. Reverse all the goods receipt & re-enter the goods receipt .
    b. post two separate excise invoice against each goods receipt mentioning dummy excise invoice number like 745-A & 745-B.
Option a seems difficulty as we will have to reverse all the subsequent goods receipt & transfer posting documents.
Option b seems legally wrong, as per understanding.
    Request you to please advise.
    Regards

  • Multiple free goods for one item in standalone CRM

    Hi Gurus,
We are trying to implement multiple free goods for one item in standalone CRM.
As per SAP.help.com, it says that we can configure multiple free goods scenario in standalone CRM system.
We tried to set up this in our system.  Basically we want to implement the scenario, where a user wants to  purchase item A, he should get a prompt for choosing between two free goods  B and C.
We did the relevant IMG settings required for Free goods at  IMG ->CRM -> Basic Functions -> Free Goods.-> Set up Free Goods
We also did the relevant item category determination where we have made an entry with
Item Usage = " Free Goods" , Main item cat. = "TAN' , Item Category = "TANN".
Now we went to create condition records in the path  "SAP Menu -> Master Data -> Prices and Conditions -> SAPCND/GCM - Maintain condition"
We chose Application ="PRT", MaintenanceGrp="PRT_FGOODS", Maintenance context ="GCM"
Then while creating conditon records , when I try to create two condition records where the Main Product is same but free good product is different, the system is not allowing to save these two condition records.
it is giving error "Overlapping validity periods for two condition records".
Please advice, if i am missing something. Thanks in advance for your help.
    thanks,

Constraints in free goods in R3 taken from SAP library
Free goods can only be supported on a 1:1 ratio. This means that an order item can lead to a free goods item. Agreements in the following form are not supported: u2018With material 1, material 2 and material 3 are free of chargeu2018 or u2018If material 1 and material 2 are ordered at the same time, then material 3 is free of chargeu2018.
Free goods are not supported in combinations with material structures (for example, product selection, BOM, variants with BOM explosion).
Free goods are only supported for sales orders with document category C (for example, not quotations).
Free goods are not supported for deliveries without reference to a sales order.
Free goods cannot be used in make-to-order production, third-party order processing and scheduling agreements.
If you defined a free goods for variants in a generic article (only SAP Retail), you can only process the variants in the purchase order and goods receipt individually (as single articles). In other words, you cannot process them using the generic article matrix.
This answers your qn Not possible in R3
If you are on Retail scenario this is possible thro bonus buy schemes
But a lot of customizations needs to be done and you need a retail server to do that

  • Multiple free goods for one main material

    Hello SAP Gurus,
we have a business requirement that to issue multiple free products for one main product, if the upliftment is beyond the specified quantity.
Using free goods functionality, is it possible to achive the above requirement.
    e.g                                                     Quantity

    free goods             xxxxx                           2

  • Return Order against Free Goods.

    Dear All,
We have raised one Invoice with Free Goods (Item Category TANN), while creating return order, if we delete main line item i.e zero quantity line item then all lines of Free Goods (RENN) is deleting,
please advice us how we can take return against Free Goods.
    Thanks
    Prashant

    HI,
As i understand you want to return the free goods which delivered through BOM material via sales order.
the behavior of the system you mentioned is because of item category determination for BOM materail. the main item with the zero quantity must be the higher level item.
to return this free goods you need to delet all line items from the return order and then manualy add the free goods item and change the item category to TANN.

  • Free goods with materials having BOM

I have defined a free goods procedure and assigned it but get a warning message as below. It doesn't give free goods at the sales documents because the paid material has a BOM. How can I come over this problem and give free goods with the material including the ones with BOMs?

    Diagnosis
There are certain business transactions where it is not possible to
determine free goods in the SAP standard system: reason 3
    Explanation of reasons
1      Document category is not from sales order category (VBTYP <> 'C')

    3      Bill of material
    4      Product selection
    5      Configurable item

  • Multiple free goods determination for one item

    Hi All
I have a requirement in free goods functionality as explained below:
When one product is purchased, system should propose 2 or 3 products as free goods.
But as per standard SAP, only one free item is possible (it is either an Exclusive or Inclusive).
I would request you all to provide some ideas to full fill this requirement.
A quick reply is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    Usage of Calculation Types
You can use calculation types to define that certain free goods are granted when a particular quantity of products is ordered. If, however, a customer orders a lesser or greater quantity than the defined quantity, you can determine which free goods should be granted by selecting from the types provided by default.
The following types, which you can define in the master data, are provided by default:
    ●      Type 1: Proportionate, that is, percentage calculation of free goods
    ●      Type 2: Unit-related
    ●      Type 3: Only for whole units
You grant 10 notebooks as free goods for an order of 100 notebooks. A customer orders 150 notebooks.
    ■       With type 1 the customer would receive 15 notebooks free of charge
    ■       With type 2 the customer would only receive 10 notebooks free of charge
    ■       With type 3 the customer would not receive free goods

  • GR of Free goods/Donated goods

    Hi Experts ,
Please advise me what is the right way to perform GR for donated materials/Free products .To my knowledge we can receive free products or donated products by MB1C or MIGO using movt. 511 (Please correct me if i am wrong) .
I would like to know how should the PO be created (should it be created for zero value)..if PO is created for zero value how will the value of the material be posted to general ledger when GR is done.Your comments will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Albert

There is no one correct answer for your question. I had faced a similar requirement in an implementation.
There are multiple ways of doing GR - GR against PO (as free good) but this requires that the donor be created as vendor or GR using 501 or 561 or a special movement type (copy of 561).
    Couple of other questions:
    1) What is the material number to be used? Since these goods are free / donated, finance would like that they be held at zero value. So if you use an existing material, it cannot be done without split valuation. Also, if the material is valuated at moving average price, the free good is going to bring the value down. Ultimately, this decision has to be taken in conjunction with Finance.
    2) If you choose to use 561 or a copy of 561 - who can do it? Obviously not everyone, since this kind of movement is prone to misuse. This is another point to consider.
In my case, we used 961 with authorization only for chief of stores. And a separate material code (this decision entirely driven by financial and legal requirement)
    Hope this is helpful.

    Lakshman
